181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 27, 2024, 02:59:52 PM
Yes, gambling is bad to the society if the gambler is poor and keep creating new problem to other people.

Gambling isn't bad to the society if the gambler is rich and he like to help other people by giving free money, people will think he's like a God and gambling isn't a problem at all.

Can you see the difference? I believe you can. Wink
Both of your points are correct and I'd like to add a little more agreement with you. As you have brought up the issue through gambling of rich and poor but I will only highlight an age based ill effect of gambling. In my country generally teenagers below 18 years of age and school college students are showing more interest in online gambling thus gambling is acting as a hindrance to the career of our country's children.
How do you see the matter?
There is nothing out there without a side effect even though they might claim there is no side effect but we all know that there is one way or the other, why did I say this? gambling has been seen as normal as long as it doesn't temper with our day to day life but when a father is doing his gambling as a norm while the children keeps watching him at some point since it's acceptable to people around the children will eventually venture into it and that's exactly what's happening to those children that are practicing gambling at a young at in school now using online gambling to escape the rules of 18+.

There is no way that we wouldn't see something bad about gambling, so we just have to either increase the rules or try as much as possible as the parents to shaping the children in a way that they won't look into it at a young age therefore endangering the country's future generally.
182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why delete my post? on: May 27, 2024, 02:22:34 PM
It was obviously that you have no valid point in that discussion.

You either never had any knowledge of what the OP was taking about but decided to just say what you have in mind to make it seems you're knowledgeable.

Mods are not stupid. that have guides to how they delete or respond to post so your post didn't follow one of the rules obviously.

You said they was no way to get the OP's lost wallet back but someone there suggested how the OP could get hisor her assets back, which shows that you absolutely don't anything about the topic.
183  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens when the big Bitcoin whales stops buying? on: May 27, 2024, 02:05:40 PM

The question is, what happens when they stop buying?  It's possible these big whales might at some point reach there limits or for some reasons they might stop buying and just decide to keep holding or maybe sell there bitcoin at the point. what's going to be the fate of Bitcoin in that instance?
Simply put, bitcoin will always remain bitcoin whether the big whales buys or sell but the fact is bitcoin cannot vanish because some set of investors left the market.

Sure there will be a big impact in the market for bitcoin once the big whales decides to sell, the market will have a temporary bearish sign but that would not last for long then there will be a price correction. In this you can validate the law of demand and supply, once big holders sells out there bitcoin hodlings, the supply becomes so increasing that the price of the goods (bitcoin) will decrease but if they buy the market because bullish immediately but a price correction will be seen in sooner than we might expect it.

Conclusively nobody determines any thing for bitcoin not even the do called big whales, so whether they are out or in bitcoin still remains bitcoin and not will happen to it.
184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can a newbie be whitelisted on: May 27, 2024, 01:46:18 PM
You can also visit LoyceV thread for remove this proxyban-
This is literally explained in the message shown to proxybanned users. People who don't read, don't deserve to be whitelisted.
Some must have seen it or even read it but they literally decides to ignore it because they just want to make some noise in the forum.

I have seen someone who already knows what exactly his asking about but decides to create threads about it, when someone tries to put them through they into try to lecture the person who is more knowledgeable because they have gone through it but want to make it seem formal or something.

I personally don't think they don't read but they intentionally come back to ask questions regarding it just to fulfil themselves.

186  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🍕 Bitcoin Pizza Day on Bitcointalk on: May 26, 2024, 12:46:32 PM

This thread is for a pizza competition.
I think posting AI generated images, or even heavily photoshopped, even without respecting the basic rule of the contest in OP is quite disrespectful of other participants and the organisers who have later to go trough all those not required images.

and its 5 different pizzas too anyway and as cygan points out there is no username, AI cant do that!

I wouldn’t be so sure about this: here my AI generated pizza:

The name is spelt correctly, small case “f” and double “l”, something even prominent members in this forum don’t get it right! (reference to actual facts are intentional 😂)
One thing you must remember is "abusers will always abuse" every single opportunity that they get even when it's obviously not necessarily.

I certainly know about good AIs that can generate almost accurate images as you desire or describe for them and yours is also one of those good AIs, with this aoluain you should know that not is almost impossible to design with this strong AIs.
187  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard on: May 26, 2024, 12:32:02 PM
<…>
Yep. I’m aware of the images thingy, but back when imgur (where OPs images are hosted) started to become hostile to proxy displays, leading the forum to not display their images anymore, I hoped for a global solution to come to light which wouldn’t depend on individuals fixing the images on their threads (I’m aware there are scripts to accelerate the process), thus resolving the situation for posts created by many users who are no longer around and therefore will not undergo the task of fixing the images themselves for obvious reasons.

This global fix has not been sought or found, and I therefore willingly and knowingly decided to leave my past images as are for the time being, as a measly, modest, and rather insignificant protest against the lack therein of a global solution.

Perhaps I'm satisfied with your honest response as I thought you weren't aware of it as a result of your busy schedule but since you already and we all await the general solution to this image issues however, I would have to manually use another BTT image host to view the images.

BTW, thanks for your understanding.

@TryNinja, From this little issue I can now see your great impact to the forum, seems one of our eyes in the forum is blind  Roll Eyes

I just received a merit notification it seems it's coming back. Good work sir

Edit: Your ninjastic space has finally worked perfectly. I'm currently using it to find some of my post that I can't really see from the forum
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the potential of $Waves? on: May 26, 2024, 10:47:26 AM
Hi, some years back Waves has been hyped as the next Etherium. What do you all think about this project? Does it still have any potential?
$Wave ? that's a typical example of why we shouldn't put a little hope in any Altcoin because they can fail us at any time. although this project had a very big hype in the space before but after a very short period of time it started depreciating.

And someone out there would be comparing this coin with ETH? that's absolutely nothing to be compared.
190  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: May 26, 2024, 10:25:09 AM
Are we good? Didn’t receive any notification for last 10hours?
Same here, I was wondering what was the problem!

I'm also curious  Roll Eyes does the telegram bot and the website work together? because since the other is down the bot too is down.

191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversify memecoin investments? on: May 26, 2024, 10:09:32 AM
None from each. Are we insane that we are thinking about diversifying MEME projects? I mean we are talking about meme here, do not invest into anything that is meme for future profit. What "meme" means was a joke, so you are investing into a joke, are you seriously considering that just because a few people made some money from it, you are going to end up making money from it as well?

There is no way that you would, and doing this just makes it change which coin you are going to lose money from and nothing else. I get that it may feel differently in most cases, but we are talking about nothing that will benefit you. Stay away from them as much as you can and do not invest into them, it will hurt your portfolio eventually.
Your absolutely right! I have tried as much as possible to convince people here about this memecoins but they seems to be missing the point as they took it in another way, most people feel I'm just a discouragement to their success so perhaps I have withdrawn from trying to let them know how this memecoins can be. I only advise them now to take responsibility of the result as they don't appreciate the other messages I send by letting them know the risk in memecoins.

Since most believe life is all about risk, they can keep trying as they want but personally I wouldn't put a dime in a project that is capable of disappearing within 24hrs.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Suggestions] My own suggestion for the improvement of this board. on: May 26, 2024, 09:20:14 AM
Since I have been posting in this board, I noticed that most of the things that we discusses in several threads are just the same things, perhaps they are either paraphrased or sharped in terms of word usage whereas they all say the same thing.

I also see a lot of spammers posting so many projects promotions in disguise trying to frame it as a useful discussion when it's just about the so called shitcoin they advertises.
So it occurred to me to create a thread suggesting we keep the board clear with our own hands, most times in meta board when the issue of the forum boards are discussed altcoins discussions are considered spam board which not okay with. How about we make this board more clean and serious by discarding irrelevant threads and locking threads that have satisfied it's creation.

Here are my suggestions regarding how we can manage to control the level of shitposting in this board:
Members can lock there threads after one or two pages of it's satisfaction; we should always check out our threads to find out if the desire answers have been given and once it has been reached the OP should lock the thread.

I also suggest that all post relating to the latest memecoins projects, should be in one thread to avoid numerous of threads with very low quality.

Additionally, we can fix this board gradually by reducing the way repeat questions: if you check properly in this board you would find several threads asking the same question such as; among this altcoins which one do you think will perform best, Vote the best memecoins this season etc.
I think such threads should be compressed into one thread that would help the board to begin to look better.

what do you guys think? I will be locking the thread after 24hrs or in less that a day. thanks
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: May 26, 2024, 08:59:56 AM
I think the current hype is about the testnet airdrop. such as testnet hydro and airdrop rdat and notcoin. I didn't spend any capital and got  a profit from this project. So far I'm not really interested in NFTs
The recent launch of Notcoin has revolutionalize the telegram mining bot capacity and it's seen as the next hype in crypto but I'm not really interested in it because definitely it's either going to be a shit coin or it might go down after a while because most memecoins are not able to stand for a long time and Notcoin and every other memecoins that are raving the space now that you all consider the next hype are only trying to create relevance after a while we may not hear from them anymore.

One thing you must know mate, this altcoins are not going to with stand any attack like the 51% security attack because of how vulnerable they are, so if you're investing your money in them you have to be at a very big risk of either lossing. one of the rule is that you don't hold for too long, as it would help you not to loss out.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: May 26, 2024, 03:11:30 AM
I'm feeling the pressure not to miss out on this bull run. I'm confident in my portfolio of solid coins, but I don't think they're quite cutting it. I want my investments to bring in serious wealth. I've heard about meme coins making people rich overnight, but I'm a bit wary of jumping into that arena. By the way, do you think older coins will see the biggest price surges compared to newer ones? What are your thoughts on this?
One thing you must know is that every one of us here are only speculation/ guessing what we believe will be the outcome but we don't really know how it will play out, so between the old coins and new ones you have to just wager around because we don't know which sit it's coming from.

Since I don't have much altcoins in my portfolio, I still believe I'm good to see the altcoin season which will be my first in the crypto space.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest airdrop you've ever received? on: May 26, 2024, 03:04:22 AM
Biggest airdrop I ever received in the whole time I’ve been in crypto was just by holding Bitcoin, I got airdropped so much free money with the block size wars when there was all the forks. I got Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Diamond & a bunch I can’t even remember their names. It was good times, I wouldn’t mind it happening again.
Definitely one of the old guys, never met those airdrops and most of the times I got airdrops where just through my friend, when he gets informations about new airdrops he just share them with me and I participate in them but at the end I don't even get any dime from the airdrops because I wasn't really away of what I was doing so my friend kept taking all the profits that comes with the airdrops.

So for now I'm just buying bitcoin gradually believing soon I will have a good portfolio with good profit.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are undervalued in 2024? on: May 26, 2024, 02:41:45 AM
What is/are your pick(s)? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
I have been wondering too what exactly should I consider undervalued coin but it seems I don't even have enough knowledge about this altcoins to consider them undervalued.

I see a lot of people are seeing the undervalued in terms of the price to what they expect but it's in my perspective what coin people do not see it's valued or usefulness for the main time whereas they are going to be very important in future, I might be wrong though!
197  Other / Meta / Re: Ninjastic.space - BitcoinTalk Post/Address archive + API on: May 26, 2024, 02:31:15 AM
Notice: Some of the elasticsearch indexes used on the ninjastic.space archive have been corrupted, so I started the process of rebuilding them.

There are millions of post to index, so this should take a few hours (1+ day?) to complete.
I was wondering what's wrong with the ninjastic space because I tried searching my username so many hours ago and it seems not working.

came back to realise that the site is temporarily down. hope it gets fixed soon though.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hyperstaking on: May 26, 2024, 02:26:24 AM
I wonder if this is technically possible? Make a coin with one billion APR staking returns.
Perhaps it's technically possible but what for?

it's definitely going to end up being stupid because apparently your going to cause a high level of attention your projects, which could potentially lead to 51% attack because of it's high APR staking returns. infact generally the idea is going to face alot problems just as you said it's a financial suicide definitely because wtf ! inflation would be so rapid beyond control.
