Currently talking to Bittrex on this to look into the issue with their wallet.
There is no hidden block or premine in the block chain. Coin supply is where it is expected to be.
thanks for the update, that gives some ease  there also werent any big orders today, as i check about an hour ago. so hopefully a false alarm... we have to wait and see, bittrex mostly solves issues fast |

I advice not to keep large amount of coins at Bittrex, only amounts you trade at the moment. I won't wonder if Bittrex will be gone soon. Smells like that!
True I take them straight off the exchange. Unfortunately just before the market went offline I initiated a transfer to my wallet of about 3500 coins and despite Bittrex confirming the transfer and saying it's completed the coins have not turned up in my wallet and it's been about an hour. The Tx ID doesn't exist according to the block explorer so it is rather fishy. Lucky the market went offline before I bought more. It's certainly very suspicious given the fact that Bittrex haven't said a word about it, worse still there is no response to my tweet or support ticket (they tend to respond quite quickly or at least they used to). They tweeted the info, but it says nothing in details. Indeed this coin will turn out to be scam? Then I'll be just in one coin, which is quite legit - GCN. I don't believe the coin is a scam. It is more likely a false alarm on the Bittrex end. thats possible as security is a big deal for most exchanges now due to all previous scams at some other big exchanges. but smac dev is online, why they dont place some kind of message here? |

nothing wrong with bittrex, in my opinion one of the best and most trustful exchanges.
but this doesnt look good. can anyone check if ico funds are still in the same place? as a notice like this mostly means there is a change someone tries to fraud.
trex is very good with security....and they take a lot of precautions. i believe both owners have a background in computer security..

Is there a way to bootstrap or reduce blockchain download time.?
It's taking a super long time to sync with the QT wallet.
I still need 500K blocks to go....so slow.
i believe this will be fixed next week with the new wallet. for a quick fix you can download the blockchain file from dropbox, its posted a few pages back i believe. |

what do you think is a good entry point for xbs? And yeah xpy is really risky. I did manage to get some nice profits with daytrading though. Yesterday i bought 7btc at 11k and sold all at 24k-30k But now im really going to sleep lol..sun already shining hehe |

no problem, im sorry as well. when i see people talk/act like that it just freaks me out and i feel the need to go in attack mode. but you are right..we are who we are...and no need to attack each other here because we dont match... so ok, ontopic again im stiil not sure ehat to think about this coin. plans look good and it starts to look solid...but the trading, accumulation and stuff like that worries me...looks too much pump and dump at the moment so i stay at the sideline for now.. off to bed now...cheers |

5% may seem low if you had to go to an exchange, sign up, make a bid to buy some ZRC, and then go find a place to use it, but that's not exactly the use case that will always take place. Sure, you could do that and save like 4% on your transaction (since there is a cost to getting the ZRC in the first place), and for some people even that will be worth it. But there's another whole audience out there that just has a smart phone and has maybe heard of this bitcoin thing but they've never tried it. Now we can get $100 worth of crypto-coupons into their hands, and get them to start using cryptocurrency. Our mobile wallet ( http://www.ziftrwallet.com/), which is in Beta, supports multiple cryptocurrencies and is an easy way to get the coins into the hands of consumers. The coin will probably be most useful to people who do online shopping, though, which is more and more people... And obviously, yes, this whole thing encourages the use of ziftr's products. But from my point of view, it's a win-win-win for the merchant, consumer, and ziftr. Merchants gets new users, and many of these users who are now introduced to cryptocurrency might start paying with BTC or others and allow the merchant to limit its credit card and fraud costs. Consumer gets ~5% discount. Ziftr gets adoption of the tools it is building and also gets 5% of each transaction. 25% is an extreme case, you must be talking about purse.io. This service, which I think/hope is well meaning, has some problems. One thing that I don't get, why does anyone buy BTC with USD on that website? The 25% savings means that someone else is getting a rip off for the BTC they are buying, as compared to what they could be getting elsewhere. Maybe I am missing something, but that doesn't seem sustainable. There are some legal issues too, like with AML/KYC stuff, that I'm not sure have been worked out. Ah ok, then yes, it might be interesting for "new people" as free money is always good offcours. But not so interesting for investors like myself...as the services wont be used by us (i would just buy with my card or btc) And bye the way almost nobody uses purse.io to buy btc, i dont know if that is even possible. It is for people who have btc and want to buy something from amazon. Instead of buying directly they get a 15%/25% discount by using btc. Nobody gets ripped! There are many people who have amazon giftcards and dont want to use them. They got them as a birthday gift or something like that. So basically the people who want to get rid of their giftcards are buying the products (for the buyers who want to spend his btc). Once bought they get the btc of the buyer and the buyer gets his products in return. The people who pay with their giftcards are very happy as they just want cash (or in this case btc). For them their giftcards are else useless..as giftcards can not be sold or traded into cash... And both buyers and sellers can set their own discounts...if people find the discount to high they just dont buy it. |
