181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blogs and Forums. Additional Features in Online Casinos on: April 25, 2024, 10:48:22 PM
Do you by chance consider these features when assessing and selecting which casinos to join and play on?
If those blogs have information that I am interested in learning, I would definitely spend some time reading them. Some blogs in these casinos could contain some lessons that will make you a good gambler, I think it is worth reading. I am not a fan of joining communities, so this feature in casinos doesn't attract me. I prefer to play games and contact the support staff if I have any issues. One of the reasons why I don't like interactions on social channels is to avoid scams.

Nevertheless, I don't care about any of these features while selecting a casino because other factors such as reputation, effective customer support, privacy, bonuses, and fairness matter more to me.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 25, 2024, 09:41:46 PM
Dear fellas, please I needed to know how you would feel if you were in my position basically where she said I would refund her if her funds gets lost becasue you recommended and introduced her to the system.
Don't introduce anybody to invest in Bitcoin or any other business without informing them about the risk involved. You don't also give anybody a guarantee that their funds are safe and it will also yield profit. Recently there have been cases of government attacking decentralization including wallets. Nobody knows the next wallet that might be seized by the government.

We cannot also erase the fact that scammers and hackers are still on a rampage in the crypto industry. There is also no certainty that she would make a profit from her investment because Bitcoin price is unpredictable. She sounded as if she was doing you a favor or her Investment will also benefit you financially. If I were in your shoes, she would get no assurance from me.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the biggest mistakes made by beginners in online gambling? How can they on: April 25, 2024, 09:25:06 PM
What are the biggest mistakes made by beginners in online gambling? How can they be avoided?
In fact, there are many mistakes made by novice gambling players, including;
- making deposits on new gambling sites
- make a deposit without first reading the TOS
Putting money into a new gambling site is not always a bad idea because even reputable casinos started one day. Some new casinos have grown to become reliable and popular in the casino business space, so it might be wrong to generalise that betting in new casinos I wrong. However, this should be done with care and don't also make huge deposits.

Most new gamblers are attracted to a casino because of enticing bonuses, so they don't care about reading the terms of service. Maybe after a win, they might face some restrictions which are covered by the document they failed to read.

Some gamblers erroneously use their casino account as a bank account where they keep large funds. They don't withdraw their wins but keep saving the money in the casino. Casinos are not designed to serve as banks and it is also risky to leave large funds there since it is a centralized platform.
184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Risk management is very essential during this post-halving season on: April 25, 2024, 08:58:23 PM
If you have any suggestions regarding how to manage or reduce our exposure to risk during this post-halving season you can do well to share it with us here.

Most of all these so-called crypto experts that are in social media are not well informed about the sector. I am not disputing the fact that some of them could give sound information that could assist investors in making decisions but there is a need to tread with caution because some of them have other agenda. Some of them will be introducing their followers to worthless altcoins or scam projects to make a profit from them. Personal research is cardinal in investing because there is so much misinformation out there.

I might not advise newbies to consider putting money in altcoins without verifying the project. The profitability of altcoins might be greater but most of them end up becoming failed projects and newbies should have the requisite knowledge to decipher such projects. Bitcoin is the best investment for newbies because it has stood the test of time and also has less risk. I will also advise newbies not to wait till the halving season before they start investing since the price of cryptos is already high. It will be better to start investing during the bear season when the price is cheaper.

Can people still get the addictive nature through friendly games
It depends, as far as I know someone who already has an addictive nature, just as they are addicted, whether it's to drugs, gambling or other things, most of those who have an addictive nature don't care what friendship is, they keep making small or big gambling bets, it is very likely that they will do the same thing outside, not only at your place, other places also behave the same way, they can't if they don't carry out gambling activities, they have to do it every day.

Quote
So am just curious to know if these little games are the one's that got to him or already developed such habit and to know if possible that the practice will continue elsewhere after leaving there when he loses the money and to look for means through gambling to recover it.
Yes, they will continue gambling, they can't stop.
Addiction is a cultivated behavior that grows as the person keeps engaging in the action or activity. People become addicted to alcohol by taking a sip from a friend's glass and from that level they graduate to taking some bottles of beer or wine. Gambling can start with any kind of sport or activity. Some of my friends went into gambling from friendly competition like who wins a car race in video games to who wins a football match. When monetary benefits are added to some entertainment activities between friends and it could lead to gambling addiction if it becomes a steady adventure.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Event [2024], Reality! on: April 24, 2024, 02:17:26 PM
The bull run will happen when it wants to but the miners are having a good time post halving as the transaction fees are now insanely high due to the network congestion. The block rewards have come down from BTC6.25 to BTC3.125, but that will not hamper them as the fees are hovering from 120 sat/vB to 800 sat/vB. Imagine someone who wants to transfer $20 worth of Bitcoin, will it be possible to make such a transaction at such high fees?
The price of Bitcoin during post-halving is not triggered by transaction fees but by the reduction in the supply of Bitcoin caused by the halved block reward. The high transaction fees are beneficial to miners but it will not stop the increase of the price if demand exceeds supply.

Quote
What to do now?:
I understand it is an ongoing issue but what is the solution to this issue? Will those spammers namely Ordinals stop spamming the network or it is a new thing that we as a community now need to adapt? The whole concept of Bitcoin adoption gets a big jolt due to the high transaction fees. There is a layer 2 solution for Bitcoin, but that is not as easy to use as other layer 2 solutions on a different blockchain.
With these ordinal inscriptions/Runes clogging the mempool only the rich can afford the transaction fees and it will indeed make Bitcoin less attractive for small investors. Opening and closing the LN network is not also cheap and popular. For now, there is no solution in sight, so the best option is to learn how to live with these attacks. Small Bitcoin users would have to wait until the transaction fees drop before they carry out transactions.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 24, 2024, 01:45:06 PM
This is a win-win situation for both Giroud and Milan, Giroud can relax since MLS is nothing and he get paid decently, while Milan needs to have a new regeneration for the striker. Giroud is already 37 years old, he can't compete against young players anymore.
Major League Soccer is a good alternative for any player who is not comfortable with the Saudi Professional League. The SPL offers more monetary incentives, so players who want to make more money will easily choose the Gulf League. However, some players are not moved by money and are not also comfortable with the cultural and political systems of Saudi Arabia. Some players still want to enjoy the same lifestyle they are used to in Europe and the US offers such settings.

The French striker has been playing football for two decades and has won almost everything, so moving to a less competitive league until his retirement is the best idea.

Quote
Let's guess who's the player that will be signed by Milan? Since Serie A is full of old players, I guess it might be Lukaku.
Milan has some great strikers that could replace the French striker. And I don't think hiring an old striker like Lukaku will not be a good idea, a younger striker should be signed to boost the team's attack next season.
188  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AI Trading on: April 24, 2024, 01:21:17 PM
Trading bots are very common. Has anyone heard of using AI for trading? I think it is a very good chance to earn profits in a easier manner with lower risk. I am a user of AI trading and would like to share my experience. It has been a nice journey trading using this AI. It helps me cover my losses and also make extra profits. This opportunity rose a month ago for me. For those who want to grab this chance to make more profits and cover losses, DM me. This AI doesnt give you all the hopes and dreams of 100+% profits but it will give you an estimated of 70% profit. Which is due to low risk trades and accurate analysis. So if you are interested DM me in Telegram: HenryFX88. Do not contact me to waste time. Only those interested feel free to DM I will walk you through the whole process.

Offers like this sounds fishy and should be treated with much care. I don't think there is any software or artificial intelligence package that can guarantee 70% profit. These AI trading bots are programmed by humans and cannot be perfect. They can help carry out analysis or research but there is no guarantee that these bots will always be bringing trade profits. Human intelligence will still be needed to make predictions after these bots have concluded the analysis.

I am not also comfortable with OP asking members to contact him secretly through DM or telegram. If you have a service that can benefit the community you should gladly share it after all you have been making a great profit from these bots since you claim they give 70% returns. In most cases, OP will start asking for money to buy the bots which might end up becoming a scam because no AI trading tool can give such returns consistently.
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: April 22, 2024, 05:02:45 PM
Who does that? Drugs and gambling combination? Bad habit plus another bad habit? Damn that's expensive. I bet only rich people would do such things.
Yes, it's not a great combo because it takes out the clear mentality of a gambler and he will just keep on losing if he is under the influence of drugs while making a bet. There are different drugs out there and some of them gives confidence to the body which means it will make a gambler so brave that he might everything he got in one try which will probably end up to a wreck.
Not only the rich engage in gambling and drugs together. Many poor people are addicted to drugs and might engage in such practices because they can't control their behavior. I know a student who is actually the best in the department who uses hard drugs. And from personal experience, he smokes marijuana before reading. He told me that the drugs make him concentrate and understand better. I have also seen people who lose focus and posture after using drugs.

Alcohol and hard drugs can distort human reasoning but some people benefit from moderate use. If a gambler concentrates more after taking recreational drugs, he shouldn't be stopped from enjoying himself since it doesn't affect him negatively. My conclusion is that if you are aware that drugs affect your gambling activities negatively, never use them before gambling.

It's inadmissible to gamble on the influence of substances like drugs and alcohol. Gambling is not like reading, it's a brain intensive exercise and requires staying focused on making the right decision. Drugs work differently on everyone, and we all know that it's not good for the health. people also get addicted to it and suffer vigorously for taking it with no control. Psychologists in their research would say that gambling has same effect to the brain as drugs and alcohol. Hence combining both together will affect the behavior of the gambler.
Regardless of how responsible he may think the drugs will make him feel, he'd make some silly mistakes in the process. I don't personally, condone, such an idea of alcohol and gambling.

Look at the way casinos use the strategy of offering drinks to gamblers, to keep them in the game for long, thereby causing players to lose out more money. Gambling requires money and drugs could make a person forget about his present state of mind, I mean it makes a person to do thing unconsciously. Gambling in that manner will exhaust the player's money quickly. However, no matter how the rich try to segregate a lifestyle all to themselves the poor will soon jump on the band wagon. Average gamblers also do drugs and gambling, with no stress.
Everyone knows that excessive drug use and alcohol consumption is not good for the health of anybody including gamblers. Most medical experts advise that we avoid engaging in drugs or alcohol because of its addictive nature and adverse health consequence. I don't do drugs nor drink alcohol. If you read my post carefully, I never encountered people to engage in drugs before gambling, but my point is that, there are no rules that prohibit gamblers from taking alcohol or other recreational drugs before gambling. Anybody who responsibly engages in such activities and still coordinates himself while gambling is not breaking any law. I know some gamblers who like drinking alcohol while gambling and they are responsible bettors. After all, gambling is not just about the money but for fun and enjoyment.

191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: April 22, 2024, 01:53:53 PM
I think each type of gambling has its pros and cons. Depending on each person's preferences, they will choose to play outside or play online at home. Maybe crowded and cramped spaces will make us more susceptible to infectious diseases, but I think we don't need to worry too much about those things, because we can get infected anywhere, unless we just stay indoors. This is the case where you clearly know his illness, but suppose you go to a restaurant or a shopping center, there are thousands of people there and there will probably be someone near you who has the illness that you don't know, right?
Personally, I still prefer the experience of gambling with people around me rather than playing online. Being able to compete directly between people, along with discussing and chatting together while playing cards is a very interesting feeling, online gambling can hardly give us those things.

It heavily depends on the area you are visiting your favourite land-based casinos in. You say you like chatting with people around? Lucky you! It means they are good people to spend time with. Not all areas are like that.

And normally there are chat boxes in online casinos where you can chat with people too. I personally enjoy chatting in poker rooms, and I wouldn't say those the only places I chat with gamblers. Dice lovers are pretty nice to chat with too.

One of the advantages of online casinos is that some have the option of chatting with other people and with the Dealer, so although different from the norm, there is interaction and network. I'ts very interesting.
In terms of interaction physical casinos provide more communication options with other people and the operators since they are physically present. You can easily interact with people and even make some friends in a brick-and-mortar casino. And you have the privilege of monitoring other non-verbal expressions such as body movements and facial expressions. Online casinos provide communication via electronic channels only which means identity can be faked. It might be absurd but I don't like chatting with fellow gamblers because they are not really who they claim they are. It could be a platform for scams this is just my personal opinion.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 22, 2024, 01:28:12 PM
The premier league predictions by the super computers as stated by you is actually not even Looking like what can actually get to happen because looking at the performance and the current stands on the table, Liverpool is appearing with the least chance but then the AI is saying other wise and this is why you can't put total dependency on it.
Let us know that The Opta Supercomputer predictions at a certain time is not the final predictions. What happens is that the supercomputer periodically predicts the winner of the EPL through 10,000 times simulation of the season and gives predictions based on the current performance of clubs. So you wouldn't expect that the prediction that Liverpool will win the league is final because the predicted winner of the league as of September last year was Manchester City. It is based on the current position and performance of these clubs that the supercomputer gives the percentage of chances of every team. These computers basically collect relevant data, analyze them, and predict based on their findings.

I don't and would not like or want to undermine the ability of these super computers but then i still will not want to place so much dependency on them because i know for sure they are not error free just like the human tendencies always playing out in our predictions and other activities, there could be some technical lapsis that could aswell give room for possible Chances of some error although they may actually be very minimal but then it's not a very good idea to totally depend on the results and predictions of such tools and super computers because once you get used to them you begin to develop dependency on them which may one day turn out against you and you may lose much more than you can be able to bear.
There is a consensus from some of the readers that these supercomputers can only assist you in making decisions because they can analyze games within a short period and these analyses can be accurate. But these gambling tools shouldn't take the place of human judgment.
193  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 21, 2024, 06:01:51 PM
So if there is a way to create balance and bring more young people to have interest in the traditional workforce what would you think of? I was thinking that increasing minimum wages and granting more benefits like health, rent to mention a few would help
People reject jobs because they have other options. The US has a super economy with diverse job opportunities available for people to choose from. Youths can easily diversify to other sectors if they are not comfortable with their present jobs. The country also has a good welfare system where the unemployed receive some level of assistance from the government.

I don't also think that the shortage of labor in traditional workplaces is a problem because machines are gradually performing some of the tasks of some workers making these sectors require limited physical workers. The IS also has a strategic plan of balancing worker shortages with seasonal or temporary workers.
194  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 03:27:41 PM
While I've come way too far thinking about this as I also goes around the towns and sees old people aging so helplessly as they're vulnerable, I fear not to be in such situations so then, I'm striving on making positive differences.
I've decided to have a diverse of my bitcoin investment for my retirement purpose.
At some points in life, you don't expect to be thought lessions before you could learn but you can learn from others experiences.

Ever heard of insurance or pension? This is what senior citizens using on their daily life aside from their savings. I have a veteran grandparents that has a pension sufficient enough to support a big family since he made a lot of contributions during his active work.
In most developing nations pensions are enjoyed by only retired government workers and established organizations like multinationals. The government doesn't have pension plans or arrangements for private business owners, so they would have to make their own pension plans. Another problem most people have is illiteracy and lack of financial education. Many people don't have knowledge about insurance policies, so they wallow in ignorance.

Nevertheless, with the rate of inflation, it will be very difficult for senior citizens to survive on just pension or insurance benefits. It is better to have an investment or business to support the meager money they receive as insurance or pension benefits.
195  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: April 21, 2024, 01:35:06 PM
The bad economic conditions in my country have made survival my most important priority. The high cost of living caused by inflation has made survival difficult and saving impossible. Most of my colleagues in my workplace are taking loans to survive because our salary cannot cover our monthly expenses.

However just as you said OP, we have to plan for the future because the time will come when we might not have the strength to work as hard as we did when we were young. Seeking alternative means of making extra income should be an option to enable us to save and invest in viable businesses. Bitcoin is a good investment option and using the DCA strategy is advisable.

I came from a society where majorities are not bothered about their retirement plans, Some do have the financial resources but due because of financial revenue opportunities, they feels so reluctant and comfortable without considering that depending on the government opportunities could get to an end somedays. I don't know if they ever have the picture imaginarily about how their old age times would be.
Anybody who fails to make use of his opportunity at a young age will have to suffer the punishment of wasteful spending. The understanding that there will be a time when you might not have the opportunity you have now to make money triggers the drive to keep saving and investing for the rainy days.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 12:33:33 PM
A lot of social media influencers especially bloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their blogs or videos.
I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.
Most of these influencers are role models to young children and might be exposed to gambling at a tender age. These young people might end up taking up gambling as a hobby which might make them prone to gambling addiction. This is really a big problem because most of these influencers offer services such as jokes, motivational speaking, tutorials, fashion shows, etc which children can view.

Quote
I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
The government should enact laws that will restrict these influencers from promoting gambling especially when their services are exposed or attract children. Only influencers whose services or entertainment is for adults should be allowed to promote gambling. This will help reduce the exposure of gambling to underage people.
197  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americans Profits from War and Terrorism on: April 21, 2024, 07:37:56 AM
War have causes millions of death around the world, forces people into extreme poverty as millions are displaced with no access to good food and water. Most times, what causes this conflict ranges from territorial disputes to regional tensions and terrorism. As war continues to grow worldwide whether it be in Yemen, Ukraine, or Gaza, the U.S Billionaire business men like Jim Taiches(Lockhead Martin corp), Gregory Hayes(Raytheon), David calhoun(Boeing), John Holland(General dynamics corp),Christopher.E.Christ(L-3 Technologies)continue to make Billions of dollars profit from sales of weapons,Rockets, missiles & Jets to conflicting nations. The United States of America been a major player to world peace have continued to sell destructive weapons just to make money.

https://businessjournalism.org/2023/12/war-profit/
These American businesses kept making money from sales of weapons to fuel wars in different parts of the world, while the US government ensured that no other country enjoyed the same freedom to produce. Any country that starts producing will be hit with sanctions to cripple the economy. Their claim is that these weapons are safer when it is produced in the US than in other countries. I wonder how safe these weapons are in the hands of the US and its allies when they are freely sent to Israel and used to kill innocent women and children in Gaza.

This idea might be weird, but if every country is allowed to produce military weapons at will, there might be peace in the world. When nations know that other nations have the kind of weapon they own, there will be restraints in attacking them. This is the case of the conflict between Iran and Israel. Israel attacked Gaza because they knew that they had better armoury but they were careful in dealing with Iran.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 20, 2024, 09:59:01 PM
Once again, embarrassing results came from Napoli. In these 5 matches, they were only able to win once. the rest, it's just draws and even some losses. It's quite sad to see their declining performance. They were not only unable to defend the Schudetto title, but were not even able to enter the European League qualifying zone. What a sad season for the owner of last season's Serie A title after being abandoned by Spalletti.

Failing to beat a struggling team Empoli was another disappointing outing for the defending champions. They had more than 90 minutes to level the goal but they failed to secure a point. Their hope of featuring in the UEFA Champions League next season has been dampened. Alberto Cerri's goal was the difference between the two teams and Nicolo Cambiaghi would have gotten the second goal for Empoli. The host needed this win to enable them to stay clear of relegation and they are not four points above it now.

I can't just explain what is going on with Napoli, they seem to be disorganized in the attack. Victor Osimhen is not getting good balls instead most of the players prefer to go for goals and it's not helping the team. They created few chances and will have to win more games if they want at least to be in a European competition. They have dropped to eighth position, which is six points below the rejuvenated Roma.
199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin halving security tips for first timers. on: April 20, 2024, 08:48:38 PM
Lastly Bitcoin halving doesn’t coherently means that the bitcoin price will skyrocket, yes base on past events they do go up some months after the halving, but that doesn’t mean you should go and invest an amount that you can not afford to lose. Past events are just speculations and do not reflect what will happen in the future.
This is one of the biggest misconceptions about the halving. Most people are buying cryptocurrencies during this period because they believe that the price will pump a few days after the halving. They don't know that they might need to wait for some months before the price will start pumping.

Quote
Stay safe, accumulate your bitcoin and secure your wallet properly. May the pump be with us.
Thank you for the heads up. Newbies need such information to avoid falling prey to criminals.

It's too exaggerate IMO, I haven't see any giveaway sites about Bitcoin halving that ask to connect wallet, phishing etc etc.
You have not experienced or seen such a scam does not mean that it is not happening. Scammers can use any means or event to defraud novices in the industry. I heard people talking about halving and when I asked them the meaning they knew nothing about the event. I later discovered that they have invested money in a shitcoin because they were informed that the bull run will make them millionaires through the worthless coin. There is no exaggeration in such security tips because scammers are innovative.

This is only for gamblers who use bitcoin as the payment method, how is going today? Who among us here can still afford to gamble?
This high transaction fees is really a big problem for small gamblers like me. My best cryptocurrency for gambling is Bitcoin and I am not finding it funny at all. I cannot afford to pay such high transaction fees for my small budget, this means that immediately I finish my monthly deposit, it will only be refilled for next month if the fees have been reduced to a certain level that I can afford. If it doesn't, I might have to take a break until the price normalizes or seek other means of gambling. Selecting an altcoin with less transaction fee or switching to fiat gambling might be options open to me. I think it is just a temporal challenge just like the network experience caused by ordinal inscriptions, it will surely come to an end.
