181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 28, 2024, 09:28:46 PM
TL/DR
It may look like a peak when BTC and the noise around it is too heavily in the mainstream but one day that might just be Bitcoin itself becoming the mainstream, due to adoption like cars, electricity or the internet.
Comparison check as around a decade back I don't think I heard people talking about bitcoin on the street the way they do now, not even on the internet did it had the volume of discussion and engagements it does have now on all social platforms. Bitcoin to me is already a mainstream in the pipeline and unlike cars , electricity and the internet, the speed of bitcoin adoption is rapid  than those even despite not having the government backing as the latter examples you had given. Within this circle able to break above a $100k price mark I am having that conviction that bitcoin will be gaining a 3x adoption that it's currently enjoying in another decade from now.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 09:10:37 PM
Hi,
Does gambling excites you? What motivates you, winning or just the fun in it ?
Excites me is similar to saying it makes me happy, right? If that's what you mean then yea, it does excites me when I am gambling mostly on my favourite team's from different leagues and also knowing that I would have to watch those matches while they play, plus having that feeling of a chance of winning winning money but even with a loss I still feel excited because the money lost isn't an amount I would need worry about. But with a win at the end of the games it usually a 2x excitement feeling that sometimes I do declare free bottles of beer for my colleagues depending on the amount won.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 06:00:39 PM
Its simple. The casino will give you a link. If any person signs up using your link and deposit into their account, you get a commission. This is the simplest explanation. It's no different from regular affiliate programs. It's a lot of work because you need to have a large social media following if you want to earn side cash this way. Having a large following on social media and making interesting posts that will get engagements then you plug the code underneath it.
Affiliate marketing in any sector of interest is not as simple as it's been portrayed by those that places invitation for new entrants into the field. As an online affiliate marketer there is a lot of work to do ranging from gathering real followers through a rich content you produce for their reading pleasure or consumption and you have to be the best in what you doing because the competition is so high that those who can't achieve a large followers that they could through which making monetary gain from do give up along the way. And it's more tasking when you're been given a deadline and a target  to meet up by the company you reping.
184  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Figure how to technically retaliate at where changes is required. on: March 27, 2024, 04:01:06 PM
In some cases these situations are not done at the trader's will, no trader loves delay in p2p trading but we must understand that this issues can arise as we are dealing with technology and from the buyers end there could be a sudden network issue leading to a poor network connection stalling transaction or probably the bank the buyer might be using could be the cause of certain delays while the seller might be waiting on the other side not knowing what the exact situation is  that's causing the delay.

Let not be too quick to react in most cases though there are some traders that will intentionally delay an already initiated trade just for no reason forgetting that the other party is waiting in haste. What's important not to fail at is to never release the coins if you have not received and confirmed payment reception in your bank account.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My weekend predictions on: March 27, 2024, 03:38:05 PM
I'm willing to share my predictions with people across on the forums this weekend. Thank you for all of your suggestions on a prediction sit.

Over 1.5
Forest green vs stock port
Mk dons vs Walsall
Bradford city vs Tranmere
Port vale vs Bristol Rovers
Reading vs Northampton
Wycombe vs portsmouth
QPR vs Birmingham
Watford vs Leed
Hull City vs Stoke City

9 games

Total odd = 10.2

Bet wisely
This is the easiest way of winning bet, just 2 goals and that it is. I also have some of these matches in my selection, like Milton KD, Watford,  QPR, Bradford C, Port Vale and Hull City. I expect them to play both teams score or over 2.5 goals, which is one option I do like playing. If my expectations happens, then the teams I listed would have entered in your slip while we hope for the other 3 that I did not mention.
There are no bet predictions that are to be regarded as easiest way to get a winning, those nets we look at as easiest could even be the ones to spoil our whole parlays. Op's predictions are interesting and are of low risk but nevertheless it's still just a prediction that's on the basis of chance to play correctly as predicted. There could be one or two games there that might play a goaless draw, am just saying because anything is possible or all the games could play over2.5., that been the case it just for us to stake on it money we can afford to lose.

This topic is strange.
I don't understand the purpose behind it.
At the same time the language used is very allegorical and it confuses users.
I think that you should focus on writing more constructive posts, because after all, you are wasting your own time.
Grin
I believe the title of the post and the post itself was written with the sole aim of confusing it readers not to gain any significant idea about whatever message it's giving, that's if actually it's giving any message by the way. Apart from BTC that was made mentioned in the post all other writings sounds philosophical but with a loose body of message that seems to be a real waste of time after reading.

Op you can do better than this.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 26, 2024, 10:33:22 AM
Especially on sports betting we see some racism happening and this happened in most of the league that are popular of which so many persons bet on. It bothers me to ask, that imagine you placed a bet and somehow you have 80% assurance that it would come out successful. And on the process of waiting for the game to end there was some racism manipulation in the game which made you lost the game. It could be football or other sports cause its mostly found in sports.

Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?
There are particular football leagues that are notorious for this manipulation character just to favour a definite side and since I have known them to be that way I just had to keep away from betting on those leagues matches and stick on the major leagues we all know are not of that manipulative nature.

Outside football leagues, another type of sports that are manipulative and bias in results is boxing matches. In the world of boxing the official determine who will win and not just be the strength and ability of the boxer alone. If you're a favourite to the boxing official in that match they will always find a hedge to trim you in through rules interpretation as they wish and other means too.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 26, 2024, 08:52:53 AM
I also think Arsenal is naturally the favorite. Because however, currently Arsenal is also ranked at the top of the Premier League, even above Man City. But in the UCL I could probably consider Arsenal and Bayern equal. But if I had to choose who to bet on then I would choose Arsenal. Even though H.Kane and his friends could destroy Arsenal's defense, I am sure that Arsenal has an attack line that can destroy Bayern's defense, which is actually not as strong as Porto. Meanwhile, Arsenal has a defense that is almost on par with Porto so I feel Arsenal deserve to be favourites.
Are you really serious? You think arsenal can destroy Bayern Munich? Noo, I really don't think so, in the uefa champions league, quality and experience is the most important thing needed to have a shot at glory, though this arsenal team have the quality, but they don't have experience needed to execute that, just look at how they struggled against fc Porto due to lack of experience, and I think that will actually cost them in this upcoming encounter between them and Bayern Munich.
Maybe I agree with Mr Uruhara because I think Bayern and Arsenal are equal in the Champions League. But I probably wouldn't favorite Arsenal. Because I have seen how Bayern has had a rapid improvement in the last few weeks in the Bundesliga. They were able to score a lot of goals in just 2 matches. Which indicates that there has been a big change in Bayern's attack line which has suddenly become more productive. But I don't want to underestimate Arsenal who had difficulty beating Porto. Because Porto's defense is highly recognized for its strength. Even in the Portuguese League you can see that even though they are ranked 3rd, they have conceded the fewest goals during this season in the Portuguese League. So it is very natural that Arsenal had difficulty scoring goals against Porto.
But I might also agree with you, Mr Barikui1, that the level of experience of these two teams is clearly different. And Bayern could actually be superior based on their experience. It's just that in terms of quality of play, perhaps Arsenal and Bayern are quite equal. But experience is what differentiates their level. But Arteta is a coach who is very quick to adapt so maybe he can handle it even with minimal experience. But I'm still quite confused about which team to favourite. Because we know that last season there were many surprising results where the top team was eliminated first.
The debate of using experience to disqualify Arsenal's ability to beat Bayern Munich in this level of champions league is just so baffling and inexcusable to me. It's not as though this is the first time arsenal are coming to the champions league or getting to this stage in the champions league so what's the experience that's missing. Better still, they have been playing and winning better teams with sturd defence than that of Bayern all through this champions league season because they have a forcing attack that can break through any defence and Bayern's is of no difference. The quality of players we have in Bayern are nothing of a difference with that of Arsenal, what I think every fan is focusing on is just in the team's names how familiar it is when it comes to the champions league competition.
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Becoming productive without spending too much money. on: March 26, 2024, 08:37:26 AM
YouTube have made it easier for people to learn and acquire different skills without Spending much money as you can literally just open your app and search for something you wish to know about and just watch the video maybe repeatedly, before you will realize you are already getting familiarized with what you want to know. A lot of people have acquired so many skills that fetches them a whole lot of money just by being at home and learning a lot of things on the Internet.
YouTube is not only the medium to learn new skills. There are many other platforms that appeals to the interest of people. You'd be surprise to learn that there are people who do not use YouTube.

Ok. At the beginning of your learning where you need to learn the fundamentals, Free Online resources will serve as an invaluable tool. But after about two  three months when you start to progress from beginner level to intermediate level, what you will naturally observe is that the freebies are not enough to progress to the next level. At this point, you would need to invest some little dollars to get some premium, an upgraded software, tool or whatever it is you need to advance.
There's no knowledge that's free, you must pay with your time, seriousness and eventually your money. For a serious learner he or she wouldn't be after free sources of learning a skill because the premium knowledge patterning that skill won't be giving to you as it would have if it's a paid one. Areas of teaching will be selective because it's a free skill acquisition program and can't be compared to that which you invest in with money to be taught. It is for this course that it's plausible to say people shouldn't depend just on free skill acquisition onlineor offline if the money is available spend it on the knowledge you have interest for and you will be a masterclass rather than a surface level person in that field.
190  Economy / Economics / Re: Technology and work ethics on: March 26, 2024, 08:19:09 AM
CCTV are very important for not just monitoring the staff but security purposes. The important thing about CCTV cameras is that even when there’s no one, you feel watched and you will have to do your job properly. The computers they use as well is best under surveillance because many people while at work use the company’s time and resource to do things that don’t contribute to the company. If you’re an employer who has experience this from at least 1 employees, you will understand better. However, I don’t support threatening employees with their jobs (unless they did something worth it).

I’m employed on a company that doesn’t have a CCTV installed behind our back just to monitor my work progress because we have target submission date which is enough already to force us to work properly. I really like working this way because I’m free to manage my time whatever I want without any concerns that someone is watching me. My company values the result over the process of doing it.

Your point of view is correct about the use of cctv to monitor employees but I personally dislike it when all my move will be watch by my superiors because there’s no freedom on doing my work in my own way.
The behavioural traits of all workers ain't same and you can generalized your personality trait to work efficiently and productively without under strict watch that other employees will embark on same working efficiency too. In X and Y management theory studies has proven that there are workers that would be only able to dispense their duties and responsibilities effectively when they are under watch by superior in the office which is what makes the installation of CCTV cameras within the office environment a necessity, on the other hand those that has the trait of working efficiently despite not under watch shouldn't have to bother about the CCTV cameras anyway because it wasn't basically for workers like them it was mounted.

192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: March 25, 2024, 04:36:47 PM
Gambling can never be for fun. People may play gambling for fun at first but once they play for fun they become so addicted to gambling that if they lose huge amount of money in gambling then they go into depression all they can do. We all should learn from this incident that gambling can never bring happiness and peace in one's life, so one should always refrain from such gambling so that his life and family will be better. Gambling is like a deadly cancer. Once gambling becomes an addiction, people cannot get out of it, so they should stay away from gambling as much as possible.
Does cancer has any advantages it offers to humans? None I can think of. Which is why I could disagree that gambling is just like a deadly cancer, gambling is just what each and very gambler makes of it depending on how he chooses to play either by the rules of gambling responsibly or not by the rules but by greed and irresponsible gambling. The resultant effects for each sides are different to the player's.  There are gamblers that have made a fortune from gambling by continuing risking amount of money that's  within their limits, but if another decides to run faster than his shadow then the deadly cancer side of gambler might be his prize.
Cancer and gambling are opposites. Cancer doesn't offer a nice benefit menu. But fighting cancer displays human strength. No casino game can match its fight and comeback. Willpower and determination.

Gambling is different. Best players take measured risks and know when to pull back. Some people earn big because smart decisions pay off. Neither luck nor disaster is guaranteed. Take responsibility, realize the odds, and play within your means. Avoid demeaning gamblers by comparing it to a serious illness. Recognize the pleasure, risk, and possible wins, but highlight that it's a purposeful choice. Life is about choices, and the best players make them count.
Truly those who battle cancer does deserve our respect as the battle they fighting against such deadly disease is just so unimaginable. However, just as @blitzboy said gambling shouldn't be stooped on or those involve in it to be derogated through demeaning statements. If anyone doesn't have interest in the activity doesn't make their lack of interest a reason to abase it to nothing but evil. For every gambler that have played within the circumvent rule of gambling responsibly can say for sure that the game is something fun to engage in as it also offer the chance of making profits from each play.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 25, 2024, 10:57:46 AM
I hope De Bruyne really only has a minor injury. Because we also realize how important the role of Kevin De Bruyne is in the Man City squad. Even before De Bruyne recovers from injury, we can see Man City not being very productive. but after De Bruyne returned we could see Man City again experiencing an increase in goal productivity. In fact, it's not just Haaland who is able to surprise the opponent's goal, but Man City's other strikers are able to do the same after De Bruyne returns. Well, let's hope it's not a serious injury because I expect the maximum match from the two teams that will compete.
Sadly this happens to be the second time de bruyne is suffering an injury this season, although the first was a major and this currently looks like a minor and this could actually not really mean well for Manchester city in that he's now injury prone and it may aswell affect his productivity to the team, he's role in Manchester city is such that can't be over looked as he's presence tells a whole lot on the team.

Manchester city can actually do without him, as they have in past times done without him so it's not so much of a big deal but then they would have to make sure they get his replacement if he continues with injuries like this as he's got a very vital role he plays in the squad. Talking about goal productive I think it has a whole lot to do with haland when it comes to Manchester city and it's clear he's the highest goal scorer in the premier league already so I don't think de bruyne is the main factor with goals for Manchester city but then he's got the best assist that gets halland to be productive enough for the team.
constant in and out injuries is one disorganized factor that can ruine the career of a talented player and that's the fate De bruyne is facing right now in Manchester City. As talented as he is I wonder why an engine room like him in the midfield of City will be bedeviled with such circumstance and this can change the mind of Gardiola to start looking for his replacement and it may have to an extend a negative effect on the team's successes to critical games that ordinarily if de Bruyne were to be in the game with one of his magical passes a goal will be gotten.

However, despite how minor this particular injury he's facing at the moment he's sure of not participating in the first leg against real Madrid in the UCL which is something any coach would have a concert for looking at the calibre of players from his rival team. Manchester City has before now pulled through without him but it's always different in the way they play when de Bruyne is present on the pitch.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 25, 2024, 10:32:43 AM
Straight to the point most people are afraid of compiling big odds and now decide to go for lower odds with huge staking power which is not even guaranteed to give the predicted results. For example, there could be a match between Newcastle VS Tottenham Hotspur and both teams are having 1.5 and 1.3 odds respectively, a gambler may decide to bet only on Tottenham to straight win by only selecting this one game on his slip, what is your take on this kind of gambling, risking bigger money on some low odds with a small potential win and still the possibility of your pick to win is not even certain.
No strategy for gambling is certain or sure to bring in a win, from what I can say from the strategy of those gamblers that picks smaller odds (due to the believe that it has greater chances of giving the predicted result) to then risk big amount of cash to stake on the odd in order to get a substantial potential win amount. This strategy just like every other strategies are all aimed at minimizing risk to loss and not based on certainty. And this risk reduction is in levels depending on the strategy used.

197  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a place called Africa really Exist in the world Economy on: March 24, 2024, 11:03:42 PM
In the continent of Africa the worse know form of corruption that has ever been discovered is prevalent in that continent. Leaders steal the resources of their own country to enrich themselves and their actions says, " to hell with the masses".
The prevalence of the phenomenon of corruption among leaders in the African countries is as a result of the high rate of the culture of political apathy within the masses, their lack of interest in political events makes them have a weak stands to wield and demand strict accountability from the leader and die to this the leaders take the opportunity to steal at will because he knows that the commonwealth is ignorant of their rights and demands.

The secret why the West and Europe are developed to the large extend that they are today is because the people at all levels demands for accountability from leaders for every penny spent, this makes the leaders to know and understand before time that they can't act otherwise else the people will revolt without looking back because everyone is very much interested in the political-economy of the state and how every was expended. But this is not the case with these side of the periphery.

A lack of political education leading to a lack of demands on the political system to deliver on the mandate given and to account for every resource is the main problem to the development of these nation's outside those cause by external forces of the West and Europe which for me are minor if the former is tackled.

I am a small investor. I have some money to invest. How can I invest this money?
You have small money to invest! Can you be able to wait for under a long term holding period for that small money to bring you profit, because obviously bitcoin is not a get quick rich investment project. That's why it's  necessary to have a reliable source of income while we invest in bitcoin so we don't reach out to our investment at a prematured time when some financial challenges hits us. A means of Sustainability while investing can't be overemphasized.
199  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin no be old school on: March 24, 2024, 10:05:33 AM
It sounds so foolish to say Bitcoin is old to invest in it. Is it not better to invest in something that is old that you are sure about,  something that is old that is very reliable to invest, something that is old that other cryptocurrencies are looking up to. It is better for me to go after something that paves way for others than going after something thst is a copy cat. All altcoins are just copy cat, if not for bitcoin they won't be existing. We have altcoins today because of bitcoin, it will be so risky to depend on altcoins.
About human beings, they are always in the look for new things neglecting the old that that is with the originality from which all other new were created. And in every creation of things especially technology, the first invention is that which all others will want to imitate. But the truth is that imitation can never be as originality no matter how furnished and attractive design. Nevertheless, bitcoin has not yet reached a stage it could be referred to as old, if we call bitcoin old what then could we refer to gold as?

This is too bad, I think this should sound as a warning to other gamblers out their, how will a person take gambling this serious, so with this I think that there are people that take gambling as a career, this is insane, though I won't blame them much because of most of them were introduced by friends or relatives.
Though it will be good too for an addicted gambler to talk to someone when he or she is going through depression in other to avoid the unexpected from happening, individuals should avoid making gambling their profit making venture so that this stuffs will stop occuring in future.
People that introduce people to gambling are failing to preach to them the inimical side of gambling and how it should be eschewed without compromise.

Aside from gambling addiction, addiction generally is easily conquered when the addict could bolster the courage to share what he's going through with a close friend of relative to confide in the person about his situation. But when kept in silence , regrets sets in bringing all negative manner of options to mind and suicide is one of those. Hence as the Op stated it, any amount of money that can make you commit suicide or anything related to harming yourself then don't risk that money to gamble.
