181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 19, 2023, 01:39:52 PM
Class room teachings and using bitcoin as a payment method for ones business. This is a great way to increase bitcoin adoption spread to others, but isn’t this done at the detriment of the advocate’s safety and privacy?
If you want privacy, don't show your face in classrooms or stores to advertise Bitcoin and tell others that you are a Bitcoin investor. When you do it, you sacrifice your privacy to be a Bitcoin ambassador.

Quote
One of the main aim of bitcoin from its inception by satoshi is not just to protect our money but also to protect the user. Therefore by spreading bitcoin awareness in countries or communities that it’s government are against it, should be done cautiously. Because once the government decides to take strict actions against the users, some of the advocates that spread it publicly or use it in their businesses will easily be traced and could be convicted for breaking the law, and I don’t think even Satoshi will appreciate that.
If you are living in a country with such restrictions against Bitcoin. If you see risk to be in jail by such activities, don't do that. If in your country, there are grey areas that you can do without risk to be put into jail, you can do it but breaking laws is bad because you will not know how government will knock your doors and do any lawsuit or arrest against you.

Because a bigger influence you have in your country, you will be known more by governmental radars and they will know more about your activities. You will appear in their Watch List and they will always have chance to catch you.
182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is the ledger can be hackable ? on: July 18, 2023, 11:56:25 AM
Malware poses a significant risk to your Ledger, including Trojans and ransomware. If your Ledger gets infected with a Trojan virus, it can steal your seed. On the other hand, if it gets infected with ransomware, you may lose access to your seeds. Attackers will demand a ransom to restore access, or you may be unable to recover them. Always remember to back up your seeds.

To prevent malware infections, be cautious while browsing online. Enable security features like two-factor authentication and keep your anti-virus software up to date for better protection.
What wallet you use, it is important to have good Internet habit. Do it healthy and carefully, our devices will be clean and we are safe, our bitcoin will be safe as well.

And don't buy used (second hand) Legder wallets. If you can not buy a complete new Ledger wallet, you can find alternative with free non custodial wallets and you can set up multisig wallets or cold wallets. It is safer than buying a second hand hardware wallet and use it with fear that you will lose your bitcoin.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 18, 2023, 11:01:17 AM
Some individuals view Bitcoin purely as an investment opportunity, and that's okay. Rather than trying to change their views, focus on your own learning and use that knowledge to introduce Bitcoin to new people. Educate and share your insights with others, enabling them to grasp the potential benefits of this innovative technology. By doing so, you'll contribute positively to the Bitcoin community without succumbing to frustration.
Different people, different capital, needs and interests in learning technical things of Bitcoin blockchain. If I am an investor with budget which is big like $100,000 or $1M, I don't care about how mempools work and how to save transaction fee by $1 or $10. It sounds stupid with others but because I am rich, it is not what I care about. Just example, I am not rich.

If I care about technical things or just because I am not rich, I have to learn to broadcast my Bitcoin transaction to save as much transaction fee as possible. The rich can look at me and think I am too serious or crazy but if I am fine, it's good for me because such knowledge and good practice are helpful for me.

Ledger wallet has some data leaks.

Message from Ledger CEO about their data leak
Ledger suffers another data leak

Their reputation is bad because those data leaks and months ago they announced their Ledger Recovery Service which causes more fear about data leak on user wallet seed.
185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 13, 2023, 11:42:17 AM
You mentioned that the level of Bitcoin is high and then in the end you say that Bitcoin is like gambling, which means you don't understand its concept 100%. That understanding that Bitcoin is the same as gambling is the attitude of a gambler and not the attitude of an investor.
Any decision has risk and probability to fail so it is gambling somewhat. By doing due diligent research and only invest in what you think it has many good fundamentals, you reduce risk and probability to fail. The gambling factor for your investment will be smaller but it is still there.

Quote
That's why investors see bitcoin as assets that will give you profit in the future, in short, you know that you will get some profit here, it's far from gambling where you hope that you might get lucky. It's not like that with Bitcoin when you buy it and hold it for a few years.
It depends on what cryptocurrency they invest in. They can have less risk by investing in Bitcoin but if they don't invest in Bitcoin and choose altcoins, they are increasing the gambling factor for their investment decision. I can not call them as gamblers and they don't consider themselves as gamblers too. After doing their research or due diligent research, they are more like investors but with altcoins, investing looks to like gambling.
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: See Binance laughable tweet, but deceiving newbies on: July 13, 2023, 11:34:22 AM
#Binance was created to achieve freedom of money for everyone.  Roll Eyes

Please do not report this post, I will move it to exchanges myself. I just want some newbies to see how centralized exchanges can be lying to them professionally.

If you do not have the private keys and seed phrase, you do not have the freedom. With centralized exchanges, no freedom.
Their tweet is vague in meaning and you can interpret their tweet with some meanings.

One meaning is like your thinking which means they are liar with the tweet.

Another meaning is financial freedom that is like helping people to get richer and achieve financial freedom, a better life with prosperity. With the second meaning, they don't lie if you are a person who got richer with cryptocurrency. If you are loser in this market, got poorer, you will consider that tweet as a lie. However, richer or poorer, you are responsible for what you do, Binance is not responsible for your investment or trading decisions.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 10, 2023, 02:16:17 PM
If Real Madrid wants to wait until next season for Mbappe then I don't think they can sign Mbappe. Real Madrid will certainly have to spend a smart amount to sign Mbappe. PSg management won't let Mbappe go for free. And if the Real Madrid management is not interested in Mbappe, Mbappe's next destination is likely to be Liverpool. There are also several rich clubs in the Premier League who could possibly be interested in signing Mbappe. Florentino Pérez should hold official talks with PSG if they really want to sign Mbappe.
If Real Madrid get Mbappe as a free agent, they will have to pay some additional money to Mbappe for his agreement. It is not like they will have to give Mbappe same salary and nothing more, no additional cost between having him from a free transfer or a transfer with expensive cost.

I believe Real Madrid will try to get Mbappe in this summer but they will have to give him a worse salary offer than if they get him in a next summer. Mbappe knows it and does not like it. He wants to finish the contract with PSG, get money in Paris and move to Real Madrid next summer and get better salary and additional money from Real Madrid.

Liverpool have no chance to get Mbappe from PSG and Real Madrid.

I also think that PSG didn't want to lose when they released Mbappe to Real Madrid for a high price.
They will try to get as much transfer money from Mbappe as possible and they never want to face with risk to lose Mbappe without any transfer money. With only one year in the current contract, PSG does not have too good leverage to bargain transfer price of Mbappe with Real Madrid. They can try but eventually will have to agree a best offer from Real Madrid or any club even it is a worse offer than what they want.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best crypto savings on: July 10, 2023, 02:00:55 PM
Are you really against altcoins or you wrote this to impress readers?

Because in Bitcointalk, altcoins are not welcome so you are trying to impress that you don't like altcoins. Altcoins are not all good but most of them are scam projects but if I have to discuss a fact that most of cryptocurrency investors and traders use their money for altcoins more than for Bitcoin.

They will think and say like Bitcoin is too expensive, price is too high already, I have to find some altcoins to invest.
189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Not Just Buy BTC? on: July 09, 2023, 08:38:14 AM
Yes, you can just buy bitcoin and wait, but right now bitcoin is still more of a universal trading instrument. If you know how to trade, you can make money on every rise and fall. Hold is more applicable to other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin hold yields are pretty low right now (not like in the beginning).
Trading is risky and I can lose my capital with trading. You say Bitcoin hold yields are now low than in the past years but I will hold my bitcoin. Because it is safer for my capital and I will more probably get profit with holding.

With trading, I might not get profit and my capital can be eaten too. I will have to spend more time if I trade my bitcoin but with holding, it will not consume too much time.

190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 09, 2023, 08:29:02 AM
Tbh, that’d be a big lie. America is on my personal list somewhere at the bottom of friendliness. Mandatory KYC everywhere, tax forms are a huge pain, no ATMs where you can buy without ID.. it’s really bad.
Flags in Bitcoin Treasuries show the USA. is a most appearing country in the list. Are these flags useful to consider what country is most Bitcoin friendliness?

Bitcoin nodes are mostly run by people in the USA. Is it enough to call the USA. as a most friendly nation for Bitcoin?

I believe it is not enough because more companies are moving out of the USA. Friendly policies can change to unfriendly policies by governments like China wanted to crack down Bitcoin mining and things changed after a few days.

191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 08, 2023, 09:25:19 AM
Hello. I would be interested to know if there is a list anywhere that ranks countries according to their "Bitcoin friendliness".

I know Germany is pretty good and I would tend to imagine the smaller and more "dynamic" countries like Estonia ought to be better, but what about Asia, Central America, etc? Which country is best of all???
Bitcoin is built not to be used in friendly countries because governments will not always be friendly with citizens. They want to control everything so you can call something like friendly under their laws and regulations, do you want such?

Use Bitcoin be free from governments, you can do it with Bitcoin, Bitcoin decentralized exchanges, no KYC.

192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin on: July 08, 2023, 09:16:06 AM
Furthermore, if his family's living expenses depended on the sales of the tailor shop, I don't think his mother would accept that offer. There are many ways to earn bitcoin, and I also think OP should focus on ways like we are doing rather than giving advice to his mother.
Accepting that offer is not bad but it is how deep that tailor shop treasury is. Because it should be considered as an investment by using part of the tailor shop income to store it in bitcoin. I am sure not all customers of the tailor shop will use bitcoin for their payment.

OP must plan to not touch these bitcoin too often because each time, it will cost transaction fee so reducing times to move bitcoins is better.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Have Any Bitcoin Stories from a Decade Ago? on: July 07, 2023, 03:33:37 PM
I saw something interesting from this bitcoinblogger.com author. He seems to be able to predict the future and is very confident that Bitcoin will rise and become a digital currency that can rival The FED.
He just followed Satoshi Nakamoto because since a first day of Bitcoin blockchain, Satoshi Nakamoto already marked a message in its Genesis block

His posts are also quite interesting to read, because he truly believes that Bitcoin will be popular in the future and there will be many people using it in the future.
He would think he can win or lose with his bet but it's not easy to hold bitcoin after those years and don't lose any coins by losing private keys, don't sell at lower price than all time high in 2021.

Quote
I wonder where he was after his last post. Is he still holding on? or is he currently enjoying the results of his initial investment?
Maybe he lost all his bitcoin by selling very cheap or just enjoying his life at beaches because he is rich now.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whales took high risks, while studying price movement in the past on: July 07, 2023, 02:54:15 PM
Investing in value when something has no value is a high-risk investment and is considered a risk if you do not have a convincing reason to invest and you diversify your investments so that the loss of that investment does not affect your investment portfolio, but capital is cowardly and nothing will take such a bold risk.

To simplify it for you, the price of Monero is 151.52EUR, so if you have 50,000 Euros, will you invest in Monero, After all the bad news about that CEXs have removed it and that the countries do not want it? This is exactly what was happening to Bitcoin in 2013, everyone thought it was a currency of the dark web and you had to do something illegal to buy it.
When a new technology is born, it faces with many uncertainties, challenges to survive and it is hard to believe that it will grow up and exist with time.

Especially Bitcoin relates to finance so it is attacked more by news, fud and even with higher levels of attack, governmental attacks. It is hard to control your minds if in 2013, you woke up and read news like China wanted to ban Bitcoin mining next month. Nowadays we know it is fud as it has been used many times and Bitcoin was not die, Bitcoin mining still exists in China but in 2013, such fud would like a bomb to kill mentally weak investors.

Many top altcoins were dead and if I did similar investment like Dan, I already lost money in those top dead altcoins.

195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: July 07, 2023, 02:29:14 PM
We have heard this news for a week but to this day there is no clarity so I assume Manchester City will not release Silva in this transfer market, Al Hilal who keeps trying to approach by offering a high salary seems to have to distract because control is in Pep and Manchester City. Pep tries to hold the player who has brought Man City to win Treble winner last season so the opportunity for Bernardo Silva to move to the Saudi Pro League is very low.
Bernado Silva helps Manchester City more flexible with their tactics and he is an important piece in their squad. At his age Bernado will not want to lose his role in Portugal team by moving to Saudi Professional League. If he leaves out of Manchester City, he will choose another big club in Europe and likely not in Premier League. He does not have reason to explore Premier League with another club so if he leaves, he will move to another league in Europe.

Quote
By the way, I was a little surprised why the club in this league didn't want to hunt for the same player? Say Al Ahli hunting Sadio Mane then why Al Hilal not try to get it too? If you pay attention to each club only focus on the targeted players, you will not see the struggle as happened in the Premier League when Newcastle and Tottenham scramble to bring in James Maddison, things like this don't happen in the Saudi League.
I guess they know their offers are very good and they don't want to compete with each other and lift their offers higher and higher unnecessarily. They can buy other players and together, they do it to make Saudi Professional League more attractive with fans in Europe. Like if Al Ahli send $100M offer for Bernado, will Al Hilal send an $120M offer, I guess they will not mad like this.
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seniors vs Kids — in the future of Bitcoin on: July 07, 2023, 02:13:36 PM
Its not wrong about "kids is the future of Bitcoin than with seniors?", at the end senior will pass away and the future of bitcoin depend on them. Not only in Bitcoin but also all aspect kid is regeneration for senior and they will guide at the future Bitcoin will existing or not.
Kids will grow up and they will create new technologies, lead new trends and it's not wrong to say, after a few decades, we will see the young get money from the old. It is not by stealing but because they are new leaders in the world. Seniors, the elderly will become outdated and will be replaced by kids, the young. Assets in society will be changed hands too from old to young people.

Quote
Really important for senior how to guide kid or junior to understand about Bitcoin, when senior have been retired from Bitcoin investment the kids will continue how to make Bitcoin keep existing. I support for kids if want learn about Bitcoin and we need push them for intereting with bitcoin and want participant or investing their assets in bitcoin.
We can expose them with blockchain by comic books, Youtube videos, cartoons if we know there are such resources. They will learn by entertainment with those simple but funny resources. Don't force them to learn too technical things as when they want to learn, they will dive in and learn what they like.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whales took high risks, while studying price movement in the past on: July 07, 2023, 01:50:35 PM
In 2013, Bitcoin was more easily dead than in 2023 but it was stronger and less likely dead than in 2010 or 2011. Dan Morehead took risk with his investment too but he was brave with that decision. You can call he is smart too but that decision is surely not zero risk.

I searched to see how much his wealth is now but could not get that information. I also wondered that the capital he used to by those bitcoins in 2013 accounts for how many percent of his all capital in that year. I guesed he did not use all his capital in 2013 to buy bitcoins.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin will accepted worldwide for legal then price rising $100k?? on: July 06, 2023, 02:17:36 AM
If btc is legally accepted in all countries then huge number of investors will increase. and the use of btc in various fields will increase.

what is your opinion about this?
Adoption will increase with time if Bitcoin won't die.

Legal tender can not force everyone to use bitcoin. You can see in El Salvador, their government made Bitcoin legal tender in their nation but after early hype, it has been cooling down and their citizens especially business operators no longer feel interest in accepting bitcoin for their business purchases.

Legal tender can help but it can not change a whole game if other infrastructures for Bitcoin adoption won't be improved and expanded.
199  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best strategy Trading configuration on: July 06, 2023, 02:11:29 AM
I would advice you to take the long road of consistent studying of the market rather than investing in tools like this. Cornix bot have been around for years now and it was heavily hyped in the early days but it didn't take long before everyone realize that even the best configurations in the bot didn't yield any returns. It might have worked in a bull run but in a bear market, the game is played differently. The earlier you understand this fact the better it would be.
Tools can not help OP to control his emotion and psychology if he is new in this market. Having such emotional and psychological control needs time in the market and it is challenging for newbies.

200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) 2021 on: July 01, 2023, 04:09:58 AM
No league can be compared to the English, LaLiga, Seria A, Ligue One and Bundesliga, because they remained the most viewed sports with widely recognition in the world. Fans will begin to pay attention to league outcomes and their clubs as MLS becomes more widely recognized in the football world. This will help transform the league into a popular race, equivalent to Saudi Arabia.
As small leagues, they try to name their leagues as something big, biggest.

China has Chinese Super League and the USA has Major League Soccer (MLS). Do you know any small league has such amplifying name?

Quote
Leo Messi is an acknowledged footballer in the area, and whatever he does has an impact on the club's prospects. But his arrival in Inter Miami is wonderful news, and their fan base has grown dramatically in recent weeks, thanks to Leo Messi's technical influence.
Leo Messi is a good ambassador for MLS but that league has very strict rules on player salary and they can make exception for Messi but will they do exceptions for other star players?

MLS is surely less attractive than Saudi Professional League if players want to get high salary and tax-free policies. Footballers in Saudi Professional League pay no income tax
