181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 03, 2024, 08:07:19 AM
What game is your favorite to do this and what’s your record so far if you can still track it?
Virtua gambling on sports or dog racing. This has been the only period i have gone all in before. And the reason for going all in was because i see no use of the money left ater i have lost so much so i made a conclusion that if i needed to lost then let it be. I tried to hit a strong odd with the last amount and luckily i won the bet. Which brought me back to my bankroll added with some little profit. Although it did not end there. I continued gambling again gradually but this time lower risk and low amount so i won't get to lose everything again. I'll stop the story here lol i don't say how it all ended that day Smiley

Before some rich people become rich most of them had gone through the effect of gambling in the society. At least that experiences are something that they don't want to forget. So, in as much as they are rich and could afford anything for themselves the spirit of gambling is still in them. This is where the idea of gambling for fun comes into play. The gambling for fun comprises the feeling of losing and winning. When you win you rejoice and would feel that you are a good gambler while whenever one loses you feel so sad (but not regret) which you would want to show yourself by winning the next bet.

The rich gamble with the rich. And there is a euphoria feeling whenever they are in the casinos gambling with their fellow rich gamblers. It gives them so kind of relaxing feeling that they are among the elite gamblers. Such a gambler regardless of his profession he won't stop gambling.

Chelsea management invested in the wrong players and coaches who could not deliver the purpose they were signed for. Chelsea owners were just buying any players they approached; even though the price of the player was high, Chelsea would buy it. Secondly, Chelsea management didn't sign quality players, which is why there is no improvement in the Chelsea squad.
Well, that's right. This is what might happen. But another problem is that the change in staff ranks at the beginning of the change of ownership also seems to be the beginning of all this. Even though in the past Chelsea management already had great people who could always choose the best players to bring in. And at the start of the season the club owner was also in a hurry to change the coach there. So things started to get worse from then on. And besides that, I think this club is also wasting a great player like Lukaku. Even though when Lukaku was at Chelsea he didn't immediately show good performance, at that time I would rather hope he was given more opportunities. And now what happened to Chelsea is that they really started from scratch. And yes, this will be a long journey until they can really return to their best performance again.

Chelsea is a team that knows which players to sell and which ones not to. Take Kaii Havartz, for instance. He is still good and can play well even now, but if you look at how he is playing for Arsenal, you won't believe that he is from Chelsea. Chelsea has retained a number of young players who didn't know how to play football and a few players who play only for money. If Chelsea players were playing for the batch, they wouldn't be doing what they are doing.

Lukaaku is one of the best strikers in football, but Chelsea treated him like he wasn't good enough for the team. Chelsea has been loaning Lukaaku for the past two seasons, and he is performing well in serie A. My advice to Chelsea is to get Lukaaku back the following season so that he can help the team, as they currently need a strong striker to make the squad strong.
I doubt that Chelsea k new that Kai Havertz had so much inside of him. When he was at Chelsea he wasn't performing so much, and he was underestimated. Ther truth is Chelsea do not know how and what position to use some player that is why they are having some glitch in their performances.

Lukaku cannot be brought back to Chealsea. And i if i were to be Lukaku i won't return even if am giving a chance. There are good players in Chelsea currently, the coach can make good use of them. Divert their positions to see which fit more best for each player. Kai Havert is a midfielder but most times there is always an inversion where he plays as a stroker and during those times he have never disappointed. Chelsea has Cole Palmer. I believe that guy is a star, he needs more DM to pair with him so that he can be doing his job so well.
184  Other / Off-topic / Re: No interest in gambling if there is no profit or fun to be accountable. on: April 02, 2024, 09:47:00 PM

If not for fun then why should you gamble,  regardless at which site you gamble on, the fact is that, the problem is not with the casino but you, you inability to understand what you truly looking for while playing games either with the winning rewards as motivation or just gambling to have fun.

If you are not experiencing any of the two, it does not mean that the site is bad and you need to change the casino, but you first need to work on yourself and then after look for where your luck is, because winning is winning regardless wether you play the game to have fun or make money through it.
If we are to be real, not everyone plays for fun. Yes we all say that gambling is for fun which is a way most people would put it just make it kind of cool. But out there, alot of persons uses gambling to feed their family, make a living and lot more. Though this isn't the right ideology about gambling but I think anyone can choose to see it the way they think and use it.
We can't blame the casino for any of our misfortune or loss as the casinos didn't beg for us to play but only promoted their businesses. What we should do as a gambler is to minimize the way we spend our time and money on playing. It will help us alot. Those gamblers that sees gambling as a means of making a living they will definitely become addicted as if they keep on losing they may lose it and try to play even more. So wheather gambling is for fun with or without profit, depends on the gamblers view of it.
You're absolutely right. Most people don't gamble just for fun. They play to win money, with the aim to support their families. We all might say "it's just for fun," but that's not always true. Lets be sincere many gamblers do play to win and take care of their loved ones, or maybe start a business or settle some debt. There is always a deep reason why we gamble not only for fun every time.

Here's the thing, casinos aren't to blame for our losses. They provide the platform to run their business, they don't force us to play. If we lose, it's up to us if we want to try again then its our decision to make. The same thing goes for winning
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 02, 2024, 09:20:10 PM
gambling can be traced back to our ancient civilizations. the Archaeologists who found our ancestors playing it so the younger generation can learn from there. it is okay to gamble but not that too much because when they are used to it, they can't just stop playing it because they are used to it already which can lead to some dangerous consequences like murder, stealing, etc.  gambling isn't good for everyone in my opinion because you gamble and you get lost in it or you get addicted to it, it will lead to unawareness of the person life and generation.

However, since we cannot stop people from gambling it is good that newbies in gambling should always be guided by someone with more experience physically so that he will learn from his mistake before he gets so addicted to it. Also, more orientation should be given to a beginner, so that he would know the dos and don'ts in gambling and how to prevent being addicted. This is because it doesn't take long before a beginner starts getting addicted to gambling after he had been lucky to win for some few things.
186  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Sometimes try to compromise... on: April 02, 2024, 08:43:16 PM
It is very important to hold on to what u have that is true but as my friend would always say too much carefulness can make u a fool.
I disagree with whatever your friend had told you. Too much carefulness cannot make you a fool. Perhaps you don't know the meaning of a fool. Of course, there are times we would tend to overthink things based on the fact that we are trying to be more careful, and we end up missing out on opportunities or end up procrastinating till we do not take actions. That can be the only consequences of trying to be way careful. You cannot predict what would work in life if you should compromise or not.

Sometimes it is good to compromise and sometimes it is bad it depends how u get urs or how it comes and how u face it.
More interesting. It totally depends on how you feel about that particular situation that is when you will choose to compromise or not. By so doing you are ready to bear any consequences that may arise after then. Life is filled with difficult situation that leaves one with hard choices to make at the end of the day you need to pick a side.

188  Economy / Economics / Re: The benefits of risk taking on: April 01, 2024, 10:43:25 AM
Life itself is risk. There are thousands and millions ways to die or get hurt. But we are lucky to still be alive. I understand that we cannot perfectly control the food we eat, the drinks we take, places we travel to or visits. Even in our place of work there are lots of things that could cause hazard or harm to us, yet we are being safe after all. What am trying to say is as long as we are still breathing the air of life we wont stop taking risk as humans.

Let me bring it back to economics. Starting a business of investment is a risk. Some people start a business that they do not know anything about but with the little research they have made they believe something good can come out if they can be consistent and put in good efforts. In investment we risk our money into new coins or bitcoins based on what we have learnt on cryptocurrency and how we have been able to gather knowledge from various resources. However, we know that no matter the knowledge we have investing is still risky. Anything could happen and may hinder our investment.

190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: March 31, 2024, 10:32:48 PM
OP it is 100% gambling. One you can mostly find claw machines in the casinos, so you are charged a certain amount to play it. The risk in the game is extremely high since it is to successfully have a strong grab after several failed attempts.

By the way i still see claw machines as a rigged game. And i expect gamblers to take less risk playing claw games. There is wide spread of rumors that the owner of claw machines mostly customized it to win 1/50 attempts, some who have pity would make it 1/20. Such game is consider having lesser payouts to the gamblers. Although it is cheaper to lay that is why people try so many times to see if they can win by all means.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been kicked out of a casino? on: March 31, 2024, 10:07:42 PM
I have never been to an official casino, i only visit their platforms online. But i have been to local betting shops in my country, which i will tell you my experiences there.  The local betting shops prohibits nuisance. Most people come to bet games and forget that they are in a public environment. For sure, the security over there will kick them up for disturbing the silent in the environment. You know as a gambler it is good that you have think and analyses when choosing predictions and if your being distracted or caried away by the noise in the environment you will get distracted which may lead to wrong choice of prediction.

Another reason is disobeying the rules of the betting platform, and this also is referred to the online casinos. When a gambler chose to go against the rules of the Casino or betting shop the management don't care if he is the most regular customer, they will let him face the consequences. But at first, they try to give him a warning and if that warning is neglected that is when they take valid actions. Same thing goes to the online casinos. There is always a terms and condition link for the gambler to see do and don'ts when using the platform. If it is violating their consequences that are added in the link so that every gambler would see.

Manchester city Vs Arsenal Draw match

Actually I failed this prediction. Right from beginning I have maintained that the match between Manchester City and Arsenal will never end in draw. I was very confident that one team will win and there will be goals in the match but unfortunately my prediction didn't work out. Although I did not watch the match. It is a match that everybody looked up to but a very big international convention that I had made me to miss the match. Just this night I had a little time to check up the internet and I was surprised that the both teams shared the points. This only has just given Liverpool and added advantage to make them day champions of the English Premier League. I believe this is a gesture that the Liverpool coach will utilize to crown his exit from the Liverpool football club. 3 points above Manchester city and 2 points above Arsenal is giving the impression that Liverpool can be the champions or anyone among Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester city can be.
Just like you, I don't think the match will end in a draw because Manchester City is really the favorite at home. Unfortunately, Manchester City missed several good opportunities in the match to equal Liverpool on points, but that was the consequence they had to accept when Arsenal forced them to play defensively.

This match was very different because Arsenal played almost exactly the same as a mediocre team who only defended and took advantage of counter attacks. Look at their ball possession percentage throughout the match, it's not a typical game from a team with a winning mentality. Indeed, 1 point is better than getting nothing, but instead we can judge who Arsenal really are.
It is better to use any strategy that will not make you vulnerable to losing the match, and drop point. This was the only tactics that Arteta believes he can use to draw Manchester city. It is good that you know how to play your opponent to avoid defeat.

Manchester City should have shown themselves how quality they are, and pass through Arsenal's walls to find the back of the net. I will say that it was a fair game, and nothing more. Those people that bet on Manchester city to win the game have been disappointed, this is why football is unpredictable.
This was totally a draw match prediction from me. When I saw the line up and how Arsenal started the first half i noticed that he had the intention of playing more defensively than attacking. And I was surprised that Arsenal could pull such a defensive wall against the almighty Manchester City. It was so difficult for Foden, Grealish, DeBruyne, Silva and Haaland to pull of those magical play that brings about a goal in Arsenal half. Now I believe that it is not all about the possession. It's about how the game end. Arteta was like take the ball, bring it to us and take the ball again.

Truly, a lot of people were surprised today because they did not expect that the match will end in a goalless draw. There were several predictions like a 1:1 draw. 1:0 and 0:1 but at the end it was an eye glass. Any football gambler would agree with me that anyone who include Manchester City vs Arsenal in their betting slip today has lost. Unless it was predicted a draw which many failed to choose because they feel Manchester City would win the match.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 31, 2024, 04:26:35 PM
[...] I chose a reliable (I hope haha) solution and bet on City double chance. So far City have dominated possession but the game is relatively calm.

Man City so far has dominated possession of the ball for almost half time and the game has been relatively calm, but Arsenal have been braver in taking shots. Arsenal's Expected Goal was also better even though Man City dominated possession of the ball.

Manchester City and Arsenal's games are both high quality and quite entertaining. This is a big team match.
My safe bet is a draw. Don't dare to choose any of them.
Yes, the possession is 73 vs 27. Even if Manchester City has dominated the first half with more possession, Arsenal have gotten more opportunities with 4 shots on target. If not for their careless mistake they would have been leading the first half with one goal. However the first half has been very interesting to watch. I noticed there is some kind of field fright for Arsenal when they play at Etihad.

I also understand that Arsenal is still lacking a hood attacker. Gabriel Jesus has done his best but at this point Arsenal need a better striker. If you observe so well you will see that he had opportunities which he would have just release the ball once inside the net instead he choose to touch the ball more often before shooting. I hate comparing but if it was Haaland he would have not hesitate to shoot those balls. Although there are still opportunities for Arsenal to correct their mistake in the second half.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What nature of the the rewarding games would you prefer playing with friends on: March 30, 2024, 10:09:48 AM

Would you prefer the game that the winner would earn some edible stakes? The one which the looser would earn being punished or any friendly disciplinary measures? Or such games that specifically involves stake of funds amongst your friends for the winners rewards?

Me: I would prefer the above exempts the one with the stakes of funds involved.

What's yours?

If it's a friendly game among my friends then I prefer something like the loser will shoulder the cost of the snacks or drinks but it should not be hard on his pocket because this is a friendly game.

Shouldering half of the cost should be enough and he will not go empty-handed as if he just treated us for a treat and everybody will go home happy because of the experience.
Thats some smart move right there. Let it the game be kept in a more friendly manner so that the one who loose will still fee reason to be happy at the end of the game.

All hands are not equal so no matter the price that will be paid by the loser if it's a fixed price most friends who are not financially buoyant won't afford it which may cause argument that may lead to conflict between friends. Such a game should be done for fun and merriment not for raising money.
195  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: March 30, 2024, 09:07:25 AM
This could all be avoided if we just never had debt in the first place

let's face it many people get debts for things they don't really need they just want to buy it but they cant afford it if they were to pay it as of the moment which is something we should really avoid doing

we should already save money, cut on expenses and make budgets before we even get into debts
I humbly agree with you here. If there is way, we could all avoid debt that would be the best decision we will make this year. Debt is not a friend of anyone. The moment you start incurring debt the more you become addicted to taking loans and borrowing money. I am in that shoes and i know how it feels. It will slow you down from your goals and target because you have to pay interest when you have not completely paid off the loan.

Only few persons get into debt because of things they can't afford but they don't really need it. Many take loans for good reasons. Its either health related issue, insurance or business and so many other. The problem in debt is that it's difficult to maintain consistency in paying off the loans because other life expenses will come along the line which may make you to shift the time you were expected to pay the loan to a longer period.
196  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 30, 2024, 08:59:09 AM
Spending actually depends on the need. Now if you want a thing and it is absolutely necessary for you then you are bound to buy it regardless of the cost. It is accepted that the prices of all commodities in other countries including food prices have skyrocketed and I don't think these commodity prices will go down anytime soon. Those who are middle class actually find it very difficult to spend a whole month comfortably just in terms of making ends meet. But in order to avoid this we should not worry about this but we should increase the amount of employment and we should move forward by making money by using these two things, hard work and skill in multiple places. Otherwise it will be difficult for us to survive well.
Everyone will do anything to fulfill their basic needs, so no matter how much prices increase, they will still buy them for survival.
That's a natural thing and indeed every human being is like that, regarding hard work and ways to get money to meet all needs which continue to increase, everyone has their own way and it must be admitted that for the lower middle class it will be difficult.
Your right on this. Humans can't stay without getting their basic needs sorted out because of they need it every day of their life. They need to be clothed, sheltered, they need to feed, and they need to pay bills. No matter what the cost of these things maybe we will surely find a way to pay for them. Inflation will not stop as long as there is advancement in technologies which is the same reason people who render services or sellers will not stop to increase the price of everything. If they don't inflation would catch up against them bringing them too a lower level in the economic ranking of their country.

In some countries people leave to survive, if they have settled their basic needs, they don't see the need for investing or savings. Which is wrong. People are meant to save and invest after spending money on the basic things. Life shouldn't be about getting satisfied on a level we do not wish to be. We have dreams and we have goals, achieving them is part of the thing that makes us huma.
197  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: What did you consider the worst advice you received from your parents as a child on: March 30, 2024, 08:22:52 AM
Just so we make this a discussion, what do you consider the worst advice you received from your parents or the people you looked up to even though you know they meant well for you?
Truly, most of the advice given to us by our parents were wrong. Nobody is 100% right after all. It was not intentional they only felt it was the best advice based on their scope of knowledge. I won't say it's the worst advice but rather a parental mistake done during my early age as a teen was not allowing me to do what i know how to do best in life. At the age of 12 i was the best pianist in my community, i also travel to other states within the country. But that was not where my dream stopped. I had the mindset of travelling to other countries because of piano, playing for bit artist in their music tours and so on. I begged that i go for a music school in port Harcourt. There was a time i got a sponsor who was willing to sponsor everything till am done in school, but my parents refused because they want me to be an engineer.

I see most persons speak against education like its wrong. A parent that does not know the value of education during their time would never insist that his children must go to school. Education is key but finding the talent of a child and pushing him to reach that dream is what is necessary. If i choose i want to become a doctor, definitely i would excel in my academics because that is the part to my dreams.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 30, 2024, 12:54:42 AM
Yeah bitcoin wasn't really created as an investment opportunity but as it is I'll rather say this is the stage of adoption of bitcoin that we are in now, people have to get attracted to something new through a part of it and at this point investing in bitcoin as an asset, bitcoin also offers a lot more than just profits, they are a lot of other empowerment that it offers.

- As a good means to store value: fait is continually beign printed everyday and this means that it has an infinite supply and therefore due to the law of scarcity fait is flawed cause it is always readily available and the value would continue to decrease, but bitcoin on the other hand has a fixed supply so you should worry less about inflation of Value,

For instance if you save your money in fait like having 30$ in the bank and you keep for 2 years when you come to your money , it won't be worth as much as it was when you kept it cause inflation would have eaten a lot of its value up since more money has been printed since youblast kept your money, but if you kept 30$ in Bitcoin, not only would it appreciate in value but it would also retain that 30$ value that it once had, so 30$ in Bitcoin is better than 30$ in fait, so this is also one of the other empowerment that it offers.

You can add privacy to that list and many others.
This is one of the main reasons why most investor who understand this nature of bitcoin choses to invest in bitcoin rather than stocks and forex. Let me put it this way that bitcoin has no one to trust, it's given you the authority to trust only yourself as an investor through its ledger storing them in the wallet. What more can I say? The source code is transparent and cannot be manipulated building trust and transparency in the system. None of these features of bitcoin exist in the stocks, forex and in the fiat monetary system generally.

Another reason is that bitcoin has been the best performing asset since its existence. In terms of value, it has been the most appreciating assets. Its value can be compared to that of gold and silver, i would say 5o times better than gold and 100 times better than silver. There are plenty of other reason why people would prefer bitcoin to any other assets. Of which those reasons are best known to them. But generally, security is what we investors value most in bitcoin. No digital technology has the same level of security that bitcoins have.

200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 07:08:47 PM
For me, I think you are just imagining things because you lost that bet. What if you bet smaller and didn't go all in? Would you be mad like this? I guess not. There are things that we can't control. Even though we are sure of our decisions and calculations, we still should have a safety net when we bet. You know that casinos are risky and kind of sketchy, but still, you bet all in. I think that part is your fault. Maybe next time you should be careful because we don't know; sometimes sh*t happens.

I always feel like that when I am betting, so I just bet small and safe so I won't regret it if I lose some money. Yes, sometimes I bet big, but not that much since I don't want to risk it.
I won't blame the OP, what would you have done if you were in his shoes?

It doesn't matter if you bet smaller or big that causes the loss. You can choose to be betting with small amount and gradually you lose all your money at a single row. It's still the same thing as going all in with big amount of money. What OP did wrong was to continue betting after he had loss some money. If he had wanted to go all in let it be that it is the money he had made up his mind that he would be able to lose. I understand that Op did not gamble with the amount of money he was capable to lose.

Gambling is risky and not the Casion. Casinos only give you a platform to gamble along with good benefits that comes when you gamble with their platform. So, if the bonuses or stuff pushes the gambler to go all in, it's the Casinos faults.
