Just a heads up, we have projects lined up at LEAST through the first of the year that we will be working on.

Progress is picking up fast.  Smiley

www.coinproz.com is open for registration!

Good news!

I also saw the Bittrex request to be listed. Any word from them? A high profile exchange will be a huge plus!

Nothing direct yet, but I don't think it should be difficult to get on there.  We were just so busy working on projects it really was important to get this phase done before we really turned our attention to contacting any exchanges.  Mastercoin is on B-ter, so we should be on there pretty soon.

Wallet is stable so far.  I haven't experienced any errors, but I am not the only one testing.  Should know fairly soon.  Website should be up within the next week as well.

Starting a few major projects here soon.  Stay tuned!

Is there any tentative date for the wallet release? Say will it be released by end of October or much sooner?
Thanks.

I don't want to make any false promises, so that is one of those things that is better left to certainty rather than speculation.

I see it is in Beta.

Do you recommend using it at this point?

No, it's not actually released.  We are testing stability currently, but I thought it would be a good update to show the qt with the multiple currencies/smart properties within to show why it was taking a while.

Chris

Yes. I saw the multiple currencies and love that. What currencies will it support?

As far as I know, it will support any smart property that is based on master protocol, as well as Mastercoin and Bitcoin.  So there are currently a couple projects lined up to be released on Master Protocol, and those would be able to be supported within the same wallet.  So user friendly Smiley

sorry for the misunderstanding, i knew it now.

also any chance to mine some prozcoin?

We will probably be doing some more PoA blocks soon, and once the wallet is stable PoA mining will be available through the site.

Does the dev team provide transparent accounting of premine?

We are transparent about the coin, but the entire supply was generated in one block, so it was an "instamine", as it is a 2.0 coin using Master Protocol and living on top of the Bitcoin blockchain.

Anyone who is mining Bitcoin is by proxy securing coins based on Master Protocol, and thus Prozcoin.  As long as people are mining "bitcoin", people are securing Prozcoin.  Thus there was no "premine" in the sense you speak of.

Article out about the team:

CHRIS BATES TALKS COINPROZ, PROZCOIN, PROOF OF ACTION, AND MORE
People in the cryptocurrency world often wear several hats, and Chris Bates is one of them. In between all his other duties (including the occasional article for The CoinFront!), Chris is co-founder of CoinProz, a new online endeavor that will provide an entirely virtual alt currency exchange using second generation software, among other things.

Chris sat down with The CoinFront to discuss his project and what he’s been up to.

Tell me a little more about yourself Chris

I am a technophile. I have a M.S. in Telecommunications from Indiana University, as well as a B.A. in Psychology from there. I enjoy finding the common ground between technology, sociology, psychology, economics, physics and ethics. I want to see efficiency and progress at the foundation of everything.

How did you come to be the Chief Communications Officer at CoinProz , and what are you doing there exactly?

I am a co-founder of CoinProz, so we decided that I would best fit as the Chief Communications Officer, since that would allow me to do marketing, but also assist in some research for R & D in the process. I help with developing the scope of the projects, help in laying out the plan, and then assist in process management where necessary.

I read that the software used by CoinProz is second generation. So, I wondered, what is second generation software in this arena, and how is it better than what went before it?

Protocol is a 2.0 coin, which means it is built on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. While there are many alternative coins that have their own blockchains, 2.0 coins use the premise that people who are already contributing their computing power to Bitcoin security could also be used to secure coins built on top of Bitcoin. Essentially, this saves energy, and creates a more unified front from cryptocurrency, while it also allows for variation within the individual coins themselves. An economic ecosystem with the capacity for mutation.

I’ve looked at the CoinProz website and it is under construction, so I was not able to find out much about what you and your colleagues will be offering to the public. What can you tell me about what the website will offer when it goes live?

Using our Proof of Action algorithm , The CoinProz website will track user actions and pay out rewards in Prozcoin based on “community rated” quality participation. The idea is that Proof of Action will promote positive interactions, and dissuade spammers and trolls. We ran a test trial with tremendous success in spreading information, and also showing where the spammers were located. We had to readjust our model to figure out how to avoid spammers without punishing people who happened to be near the spammers, so that has been the issue behind delaying the launch. We want to make sure everything is fair to people who aren’t trying to game the system, and the reward incentive structure stays intact.

And when will that be?

I have been testing the site on IOS and Android within the past 24 hours, so the release should be any time now. A few minor bugs just need to be ironed out.

What would you like people to know about CoinProz and what it will offer?

CoinProz wants to create an environment which highlights the most promising projects in cryptocurrency. We also want to promote positive participation to help educate more people about cryptocurrency. We feel that one of the major issues needed to be addressed is bringing education to the physical world, and out of the digital space. We are working on making crypto more accessible and understandable.

I noticed that CoinProz has been positioning itself as the go to location for social media interaction related to all things alt coin. How have you and your colleagues decided to create an online virtual currency exchange?

We are not an actual “currency” exchange, but in that regard, our platform is meant to reward participation for ANY coin, because that way it consolidates the information into a place where we aren’t deciding for the user what to look at. Bringing the most promising projects to the front page insures that those who put in hard work and effort get highlighted, but rewarding new users for participation with any coin keeps a reward incentive so that the learning process is actually worth something immediately.

And where can people contact you if they want more information about what you are working on?

Email me at Chrisbates01@gmail.com, or come chat on the CoinProz Facebook page.

We are opening up the site for people to sign up as beta-testers.  Thank you all for your patience while Shannon has been diligently working to create an awesome site.

Please pm myself or Genecyber for an invite to the site

So the work is completed to 90% lol

More like 97-99%.  That last 3% is the worst Smiley

So, when relase wallet? Today, tomorrow.. ?

This is so much more than a wallet Smiley

We didn't set an "hour" of release because we wanted to let Shannon get it right.  It is ALMOST done, but as anyone in software development knows, bugs happen.  The final few errors are being worked out, and the announcement will be made when it is open for users.

While your input was definitely taken into account, we were the people that defined the goal of this project, and are the ones who are carrying it to fruition.  For you to take credit for Shannon's work is a little disingenuous.

First, I suspect that disingenuous is probably not the word you really meant.

This is not a label I would've expected.  It seems strange that someone would think of me, of all people, as falsely pretending to be more simple, common, or naive than I really am.  If this is really how you feel I present myself I would be very curious as to what gives you this impression.

Second, I did not take credit for anyone else's work.  I did not claim to define the goal of this project.  I will claim that I helped to define the goals for the PoA block-chain.  I did so because Shannon asked me to help.  I did so to help.  For you to try to say that I now don't have some right to claim that I helped define the goals is offensive to me.

I have every right to take credit for my discourse with Shannon in defining the goals of the PoA block-chain implementation.  Isn't this, after all, what your project is supposed to be all about? I can even offer you a proof of action in the form of an existence proof, here, just flip back a few pages and read the post where Shannon asked me for this help in the defining of the thing, and then I helped.  Cool stuff, PoA in action.

All I was trying to do here was offer some more help.  I don't want to see you launch a real genesis block, and then find out that the goal posts (that I helped define, btw, did I mention that?) had not actually been hit.

I guess you do not need my help, or even acknowledge or credit it.  You must be above the need for my help.

Good luck with your project.

Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say.  I of course believe you assisted tremendously in helping Shannon logically work through the issue of establishing a transparent system.  I believe Shannon already said he was totally willing to pay a PoA reward for your interactions here, so I guess my misinterpretation caused some undue tension.

Also, my use of the word "disingenuous" should show that I initially misinterpreted your statement.  I thought you were possibly trying to assert credit for the entire project or something like that, which is why "I" was personally a little offended by the assertion, but as you stated, yes your feedback for Shannon to develop a more transparent blockchain was very much part of trying to get feedback for the development process.

Shannon was working on much more than just the blockchain.

If you show me an academia site, linked in profile, CV, or something like that, absolutely!

Rly?

Huh Because my prior interactions with both you and Shannon somehow weren't enough to establish criteria of my qualification?  Huh

I'm not sure if I should be offended, or bemused, or both.

Seriously, though, considering I basically defined the criteria for the goal of the thing can you think of someone more appropriate to critique the work?  If so, I'm very interested in being introduced to this person.

While your input was definitely taken into account, we were the people that defined the goal of this project, and are the ones who are carrying it to fruition.  For you to take credit for Shannon's work is a little disingenuous.

Is there any chance that I could peer review the implementation before a public launch?
