I rang a 'Trestor merchant' in Australia this morning. Nice guy. Not a crypto geek. Knew nothing whatsoever about Trestor. Zip. Nada. Zilch.
How about a bunch of us in different countries each ring a listed merchant?

Could anyone please post a link to the webpage of the airline company where it is actually possible to pay with BTC. Thanks a lot.
I don't want to spoil the party, but Expedia does not accept BTC (no difference for flights or hotels, at least in Europe), nor does British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair, KLM or any company I've traveled with recently.

There are multiple factors. First the cost to obtain/mine the coin. You can't expect it taking 10 cents to mine a coin, and the price of each coin being a dollar.
Also the total supply limits of what the final price would be.
Some coins also have a flexible funding. So if 10 btc is raised, and supply is 1000 coins, then price per coin becomes 1/100 BTC.

Might be a good idea to have a hangout enabled for the event as well . Was a good idea for the last meetup in delhi as well. It is a bit difficult to organize an online hangout from the public place we are meeting. Did you guys meet at any public place or someone's home at Delhi ? yeah, it was an office I think, but a room . Yeah would be difficult if its a public place. But its always a good idea to have a laptop to demonstrate things to someone new to bitcoin in the meetup. Because people do pop up randomly, by seeing a meetup on meetup.com. Remember this is Kolkata you are talking about and these are Bengalis that you are dealing with. You should go troll somewhere else and not on every thread you come across. |

But just for fun lets see what you opinions are to the poll. With Mr Modi being so tech savvy as he is, I do think he'd be more open towards adopting Bitcoins in India. On the other hand Bitcoins can really be used to fund some anti social stuff and I think AAP would be the party that would be generally against such a decentralized currency. Congress is hopeless, they dont believe in arming Indians with guns or Bitcoins for that matter... I wonder if rahul Gandhi is on this forum, or is he sleeping again ?  I wonder how would AAP respond to the concept of bitcoins. The currency of the common man  Bitcoins will never be the currency of the common man lets face that reality. And I also agree somewhat to what Poly said up there, the parties wont do shit unless it is something that brings them money .... or votes. it isn't required to have the parties accept and promote bitcoin. All they should do is not become anti bitcoin at some point in the future because the big companies are paying them for it. |

Bitcoin price frequently move 20% up or down. Don't get too excited about small price hikes. Moving up to $300 and staying there needs momentum, and it is not something we individual buyers can do. Yes, BTC could jump to $300 real fast, but can also drop back to $250 equally quick.
Sit back and don't expect price to jump up a notch without any real good news.
I don;t think good news affects the price of bitcoin in any positive or negative way. Seemstohave no affect. |

A scam happening in fiat does not get fiat banned. its true that bitcoin allows such scams possible, but people should be careful while investing. Its not the currencies fault. |
