181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RELAUNCH [XMINE]MineCoin | 100% POW | Scrypt | No ICO | Ver. 0.10.5 on: March 10, 2017, 02:32:14 AM
We passed block 720 000 and the PoW rewards are now reduced to 10 XMINE per block.

This was a successful hard-fork. Phew!

Yes, it works well. I'm running this version and there is no issue until now. I will mine some coins with my miners and I expect the price will be higher than before.

As for the price, I would imagine we need to wait for Bitcoin price to settle down to a more stable state before we see more value pouring into altcoins like XMINE.  The trend at the moment seems to be to cash in on the Bitcoin rally.  Once that is stable, we will see the return of investments into developing coins.

Hi,

I am trying to sync the wallet, please help we with a node.

Thanks,

peers can be found here:
http://ams.midnightminer.net/network

Hey Midnight_miner,

Thanks for the peers, now i have three or four connections in my wallet but the process of synchronizing is still very slow.
After three days i have only 16.000 blocks, so it will take some time.
Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks again

Unfortunately I don't.  My windows wallet on my home computer does not synchronize, it is so slow.

My Linux nodes are keeping up to the latest blocks.  It is one of the things I wish to investigate when I get some free time.

I tried using my linux copy of the blockchain as an import on my windows wallet, but the import did not seem to work.  But if you want to try it, I could attempt to send you my 0.5 GB blk001.dat file for you to import.  It doesn't seem to work on my windows machine but you may have different results.

transfer of the blockchain? ...

create a bootstrap for it in the linux directory - then transfer that bootstrap to the windows directory ...

close the wallet - delete all files in the windows wallet directory except for the wallet.dat and the .conf file ( if you have a .conf file ) and the bootstrap file - then run the wallet again ...

the windows wallet will happily import the bootstrap file of the blockchain up to and including the block that you created the bootstrap from - and will continue to sync as it has built its peers.dat file while it was bootstrapping ...

#crysx

Unfortunately I used a newer version of Berkeley DB when I compiled the linux wallet daemon, and it does not seem to be compatible when I used the bootstrap on the Windows wallet.

Wallet still sync's so I guess there are a few of us that still run wallets out there.

The original dev / promoter is still online once and a while.

A wallet update on this coin could bring it back from the abyss.

The way i see it is unless you have at least between 40-100BTC you are never going to make enough profit to change your life and if you have 40-100 bitcoin your life is probably already Trill so for me it's all altcoins and other such things, sure making a couple hundred dollars is nice but in the greater scheme of things what difference does it make in your life? likely not much.

Sometimes you have to think about whether or not even if you know it's going to make you some money what is better for the long term and not just think about the short-term, I see much higher $ gains off uno in the future then i expect to see from bitcoin and that's my speech for the night, lol.

@BitNat would be interesting to know what threads you pull some of these quotes from...
They are informative and some are entertaining!

@ midnight miner

Well call me a monkey!!!

I have been on BCT for years and never figured that out!  Any more obvious and that would slap me in the face.

Thank you for that tip.  I need to stop drinking when I sit in front of the 'puter I might learn something.

The CreditBit team has the momentum.

Please be certain to follow through on your development road map.  We are cautious, but we are supportive.

What you have set out to do is of great value.

Keep the community in the loop, be it positive or setbacks, we need to know.

What are you about?

What are the random posts of links to other coins?  Am I missing something?  I don't get it?

Oh wait! my beer is empty, I need to go get another one...

Bye for now.

Awaiting a response...
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ^-^-^- SPACE COIN [SPACE] REVIVAL POS / POW ^-^-^- on: February 23, 2017, 03:07:11 AM
Anything new from Space Coin? Been away from the thread for a while.

Not a lot on the surface, but there are things going on in the background.

@dukester99
 -  is woking on updates on the website.
 - has added funding to the faucet at https://poswallet.com/faucet.php
 - set up a bounty for Chinese translation

As for me, I am working on other coin projects, mostly updating to core 0.10, once those other projects are complete I will be updating Space wallet with some new and fun stuff that I worked on.

We have some interesting ideas to integrate into Space.  It just takes a little time to get things developed into a state for release.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $BTA | BATA | Barter via Blockchain. New POW / POS Hybrid in development. on: February 23, 2017, 02:31:40 AM
Just an update on how things are progressing.  This is by no means an attempt to pump the price with fake news.

DISCLAIMER:  Nothing will be released in the next week or two, it may take possibly a month or two, depending on my personal schedule.

I am working on the core 0.10 update to the Bata wallet code.  If you look at the node list at http://bata.midnightminer.net/network (set it to show 100 entries) and you will see a client running Satoshi:0.10.4

That is the current development code under test.  I am waiting for some more equipment to arrive to perform more testing on the wallet code.

Before we migrate to Hybrid Pow/Pos wallet I need to perform more testing not only on the new core, but on the new model that we will be attempting to implement.  It is a new type of PoS model that is not currently used (as far as I have researched).  I would like to make sure it works before we release it to the network.

Please be patient on the next release. I would like to only do it once, and not have to release fixes for unforeseen bugs.  A poorly released hard-fork on a popular or up and coming coin such as Bata could definitely affect its project and future value.

I am configuring 2 separate test networks.
 - 1st network is an official managed Testnet to test all changes to the wallet code from this next release and future releases.
 - 2nd network will be to test the new Hybrid PoW/PoS wallet code.  That will require several 7-30 day trials to ensure the new PoS model is operating properly.

More updates to come as things progress.

If you read back in this forum, Mark was the or one of the developers that worked on the Quatloo Trader.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $BTA | BATA | Barter via Blockchain. New POW / POS Hybrid in development. on: February 21, 2017, 02:25:00 AM
Hi - It is nice to see this project getting some much deserved interest. It has been clear to me for some time that the fundamentals behind this coin are very strong; strong support from miners, fair distribution, low supply and active founder looking to improve and launch new features.

The questions now are around what does the future hold?? We know that there has been some work conducted on a blockchain upgrade to convert to a POS/POW Hybrid with supernodes and that there is now interest from a start up project (EntangleIT) to collaborate on nthCoin (https://github.com/nthCoin/nthCoin/blob/master/README.md) which is under development.

So some question I have are:

1. When is the POS/POW upgrade likely to take place?
2. How many BTA will be required to run a supernode?
3. What will the interest rate be?
4. How will staking rewards be calculated
5. What are the likely synergies that can be created with EntangleIT
6. Any other news to look forward to this year

Thank you in advanced for your reply.

Skuff

Sorry for the delay in response and thanks for contacting me to prompt me to reply.

Thanks for the questions I will answer it as best as possible because I need the ok to go ahead and release information regarding EntangleIT.

1. POS/POW update will be soon, I cannot give an exact date as Midnight Miner is the process.
2. Supernode the exact number will be released when POW/POS Hybrid is released.
3. Interest rate aiming at 5%
4. Staking rewards calcuation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AbIs8NQrgHyhYMFcNR0h7IhbEze0xuoM_WplpDYaNyk/edit?usp=sharing (not final copy)
5. EntangleIT will empower cryptocurrencies do be able to complete tasks.
6. Barter Platform & App.

If Midnight has anything to add please do so.

you want to say that the total coins of bta together with POS equal to about 10 mil?

That is presented as a possible option if and depending when the PoS starts and how many wallets are staking.

It is presented as a mathematical projection of the possibility of increasing the money supply to include a PoW / PoS hybrid in the future.

It is up to the community to decide how and where we go.
but I see that pos minimum level starts with 1000 coins , I don't think most can be to achieve the pos, should be stretched over 10 years

I agree.  The model shows the most accelerated case, or the shortest time to reach a money supply.  In real world it would be dependent on the amount of coins staking and the amount of coins in actual trading.  If the coins are active in transactions, there is less need for growing the money supply if the currency is fluid and used for active transactions.

The PoS method that is not detailed on the spreadsheet but will be included in the whitepaper is different from a standard interest based PoS.  The method and explanation of the PoS will be more detailed in the whitepaper.

I still need more testing before release.
