182  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Book on birthing pains of bitcoin ASIC on: January 14, 2013, 11:36:39 PM
Now, my question is: is anyone going to write a book about all these turbulences?

No.

But, an article in few years will come up for sure as now we can read articles about beginnings of internet, www, mail etc.

Logically the merchants should be thinking in the same way, and pricing their products in Bitcoins with a substantial discount compared to the fiat price.
Not only do they save on creditcard fees, but they also receive Bitcoins directly without having to touch any fiat.
The market should automatically adjust the price of things in Bitcoins to take into account the attractiveness of holding bitcoins over fiat.
So people who hold bitcoins can expect their bitcoins to be worth more, and also to be able to get things cheaper than everyone else.

True so I'm going to rent rooms in my flat starting march with dicount if someone will decide to pay in BTC

Have you get some update on this list:
https://virtualprocessingsolutions.com/glbse-records
??

When I checked first time I wasn't there but:
from <james@glbse.com>  13.12.2012 I get following answer:
Don't worry about it, you'll be sent out on the next update.

Additional problem is that that i lost exact payment address and I know only that it was one of more of twenty of mine addresses I'm using so checking me on the list is painful
186  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: December 02, 2012, 12:54:29 PM
WOW, thanks was fast, thank you.

So I'm waiting for the pdf form, or should I put it myself?
187  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: December 02, 2012, 12:45:49 PM
What it means if I can't find my email here:
http://gigamining.com/glbse-records.html

Is it list of (emails and BTCaddresses) or (emails or BTCaddresses)?

Just to get clear there is any word on language of documents for claims, I can get only Polish documents which looks correct according to http://gigamining.com/claims.html because it is my "local equivalent".

And what exactly I will gain if procedure will be completed? After that I will be able to use my dividends? Would you use part of contract and buyback shares? Will I get my teramining upgrade?
I'm asking because If I will have pay for authorized translator cost of it will exceed my dividends (2BTC for now) and I see it is possible it's all I can fight now for?

188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the fate of bitcoins (all will be lost - literally and eventually) on: November 28, 2012, 06:43:24 PM
Or just ONE. Essentially it makes no difference, everything would work the same except with larger or smaller numbers.

In 2006 I had Idea for internet currency with suply of only one and emission halving time to time. dividable for infinity small pieces. Unfortunetly I hadn't tech skills and motivation to create it. But I'm so glad that it is.
I can't understand why there is 21M rather than 1 single BTC with 16 places after dot.
As like degrees in circle why the hell 360? why not 1 or 2pi?
189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the fate of bitcoins (all will be lost - literally and eventually) on: November 28, 2012, 06:37:05 PM
A healthy electrical stroem and/or solar flare and half the bitcoins in existance will disappear.
I hope that enough people will care enough about their money to have safe backups so that doesn't happen, but I suppose it could.  That would be one heck of an electrical storm or solar flare though to wipe out half of all bitcoins in existence. Wouldn't such an event wipe out other forms of electronic funds as well?  PayPal, bank accounts, credit card balances, etc. Something that can damage electronics in such a widespread way would destroy any non-hardened electronic devices, right?

Huh, thats why I keep my BTC with BlueDisc backup, storm wont destroy it so easy.
But I doubt that banks do that.
190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the fate of bitcoins (all will be lost - literally and eventually) on: November 28, 2012, 02:42:20 PM
There is not.
Only way is to recover data out of your disc so you could keep it for future when it will be worth.
191  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 27, 2012, 11:15:17 AM
Huh, your are saying it is so high cost to get this:

An affidavit attesting to the beneficial assignment of the agreement, which has been notarized (US residents/corporations) or local equivalent bearing the apostille of the competent jurisdiction. Copies of an acceptable affidavit can be obtained upon request from the law offices.

What the cost is in different countries?
I have checked how much it will cost me and it is less than 2USD per page, and it will take 5 to 10 minutes. So I'll try to do it with one page. And it is perfectly reasonable to spend this to get back my 20 shares.

So in Poland it is 2USD. Could you name prices in other countries?
Just out of my curiosity.

GIGAMINING

These lists are not 100% complete, users who have not claimed their GLBSE account, and users who have not returned the double payment of bitcoin have not been included.

I'm still currently working with users who have lost their login details and issuer lists.

Returned double payment? someone had get double payment in BTC ? Smiley
193  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to transfer 0.00095 without fee? on: November 22, 2012, 07:27:42 AM
My time will result in future. I believe I wont regret it.
In that case, you're probably better off using some free bitcoin faucets. You'll get way more than 0.00095 BTC in one or two minutes of your time.

Alternatively, you could transfer 0.0009 BTC with a 0.00005 BTC fee, that should be processed pretty fast.

THX I have fixed that.
Just simple as copy wallet to my storage and waiting for much better USD/BTC ratio.

THX for your help

You're either a tremendous optimist or prepared to wait a very long time  Wink

Both Smiley.

I believe that If tech won't fail, bitcoin could grow at least 10-20% avarage each year, which multiply value about 40x in 20 years. Even more, I think that IF tech will stand strong enaugh it could take some serious part of the market like 10% in 10 years so comparing to today USD trade volume it would be about 50000x -60000x which could make 0,00005 valuable.

And my grandson will ask me:
"Grandpa, grandpa, is that true that it was enaugh to write captcha to earn today daily salary??"

Hehe, I know it's crazy, but haven't you ever wonder how would you spend 1M$ lottery ticket if you would win?
I think that my scenario is more probable than that lottery (mostly because I won't buy lottery tickets Wink).

It's just speculation, not a good place for that.

I think he is lying from the beginning about "giving wallet to a friend" Wink Something must be hidden deeper out there Wink

@novusordo:
Standard client will apply a fee to 1satoshi transfer, right? So it gonna be 100 satoshi + 0.005 BTC fee...

STOP OT here.
196  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 21, 2012, 01:27:27 PM
Some one giving digital Bitcoin empty insecure wallet to friend.
Seems we are out of Bitcoin addresses.

No, not exactly empty, with some couple of hundreds of satoshis.
197  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: November 21, 2012, 12:05:58 PM
Hmm, I have changed my wallet since then, and I give my almost empty wallet to my friend, I don't want to giv him my shares or BTC, I'll insist to use mail if it is possible.
Why the hell do you do that?! You were told from the beginning that payments from GLBSE will be received at that address you submit and if you wnat to give your friend some BTC, you could just have sent them. Mail is by FAR less secure than BTC addresses.

Because I belive that that wallet could been compromised and someone could copy it, I can't be 100%.
I withdraw almost all funds to another wallet.
But by mistake left there some satoshis and give my friend insecure wallet.

I still have an access to it so, if there would be BTC send to it I want to know it exactly when to minimize possibility of lost.

Bad eng today.

I'm waiting what time brings.

That's good news. The asset holder list has our contact emails, correct?

The list contains email, bond count and btc address. I will probably post the list with the details hashed once we have the final version and counsel has cleared me to do so.

It was so long that I don't even remember how much do I have. Smiley

I have just send via "Give us feedback" on the google.com site after searching "50USD in EURO"

Feedback like that:
"
It is "50 USD in EURO" working.
What decides which currency are working?
I'm interested with BTC, could you make it work?
"50 USD in BTC"
and
"2BTC in USD"
Could you do that?
"

Who would do the same?
Maybe Google will decide to include BTC to this calculator?

The currency exchange rates usually official source, usually the central banks.

What is the official source that Google could use?     There probably will need to be some proportional weighting method.  (e.g., for BTC/USD, something like 70% based on BTC/USD at Mt. Gox, 10% from BitSTAMP, 10% from BitFloor, 5% from CampBX, 5% from BitME.).

They could take percentage out of traded volumes.
