181  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Bitcoin just hold steady for months and months on: January 30, 2018, 11:58:29 AM
We have witnessed such situation before, when the prce was more or less stable for longer period. If you rememember that was before bitcoin prise started to climbe over 2000$. Nothing dramatic will happen, just that traders like volatility more because that is something that gives them profit.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still the dominant virtual currency in 2018? on: January 30, 2018, 10:22:59 AM
Of course it is and it will stay so.
Nothing has changed at the begining of this year that would harm the number one position of bitcoin and it's not only the price that defines that position. No matter that price hasn't come back nera te 20000$ like many aexpected from the 2018 there is stll plenty of time for further price rise and the number of bitcoin supporters and users is growing each day.

185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transaction fees going down~ on: January 28, 2018, 08:05:29 PM
It looks like transactions fees are lower now but I wouldn't say this is going to be permanent situation. Fees are volatile almost like bitcoin and they are also changing all the time.
Hope they will decrease more but I'm also aware that many factors in the network and miners are influencing them so I'm prepared for worse situation also.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Really End World Poverty? on: January 28, 2018, 07:12:25 PM
I don't think so, bitcoin is not so powerful. Poverty will always exist, that is the sad truth. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can help some people to get better living and make some extra money but still this is not available to everyone and everyone is capable enough to use those opportunities.
I don't think there is cure for world poverty whatsoever.

188  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the predicted value for BTC in end of 2018?????? on: January 27, 2018, 12:10:38 PM
No one can't tell this. Market changes very quickly and a lot of things influence it. Every value that some would say bitcoin will achieve would only be guessing. But I don't see the sense in thinking now what the price would be at the end of the year, it's a long time until that. It's better to focus on short term strategy.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: criminals:more use btc or dollar? on: January 25, 2018, 07:56:05 PM
Looking at this in general, dollars are used more often than bitcoin because it exists more time, so it's misused for longer time by criminals.
On the other hand, bitcoin is atractive to criminals because of relative anonimity but that is prety much the main reason, bitcoin is not so widely used for criminal activities like it's the public opinion.
But I don't think that someone has made some exact research about this subject.
190  Economy / Exchanges / Re: A working cryto debit card? on: January 24, 2018, 01:51:05 PM
I dont believe it s general anti crypto policy. I do believe banks will do everything they can to sabotage crypto cause their position of power has been challenged.

Yet, there will always be a way. For example Revolut has just received a banking licence so they do not need to rely on banks anymore. The same will happen with Tenx in a few months. After that, FUCK BANKS. One cannot stop innovations.

This is one of many banks around the globe.

Nordea, the Nordic region’s biggest bank, said Monday it would bar employees from trading in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as of February 28 due to the unregulated nature of the market.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/largest-nordic-bank-nordea-bans-employees-bitcoin-trade/

As I say, as long there is one or two or five banks willing to work with crypto, the rest can suck dick.
These old industries will always try to stop the way things re currently being done. I am not worried about that at all. However, I would like to know what card can I use till late March when all these big ones will start shipping again.

Yes, this is the right question. How to overbridge this period when practicly no bitcoin debit card service is offered at all and we haven't expected for situation to escalate in such direction to be prepared. Or is there any reliable card that coud be used? Exchanging bitcoins through localbitcoins or banks is not an option for me so card was ideal solution.
I'm afraid also that this card issue created a space for different scamers to offer false cards.
191  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New Bitcoin Debit Cards on: January 24, 2018, 01:44:15 PM
Ok... let me start somewhere about this.

I have my new bitcoin (contactless) mastercard and they are issued by a company in the UK called PSI Pay Ltd. They work perfectly (ATMs, stores, merchants etc) and this gives me the confidence to use the cards for all my bitcoin to fiat transactions. Wave Crest was very good and reputationally reliable. It's a pain to have to say bye to this MyChoice visa card.

I happened to find this site today:

http://www.psi-payscam.com/

Or is this a once-off incident?

I don't know what to think. I don't want to wake up one day and discover the cards stopped working or see a "this domain has been seized" error on this company's homepage.

Why can't one of the regular time-tested brick and mortar banks offer their cards so we can all have some peace of mind!

Because BTC is crap. Visa and MC closed the CC exit, now banks are closing the fiat exits.

The game is over.

Now sell

Haha

Haha, what a fool you are.
Maybe you'll figure that out some day.

193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering on: January 23, 2018, 02:28:07 PM
Maybe it's not so easy but it's convenient and it's easier to hide the traces and the origin of funds comparedto fiat money. Investigations techniques are mor complex for cryptocurrencies and that is why criminals like to use them for money laundering. But still I don't think taht we can talk about such large sums like when fiat currencies are involved.
194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep all crypto in trading platforms or wallets? on: January 23, 2018, 11:03:32 AM
Exchanges are not wallets and that is not their primary purpose so it's not suggested to keep the coins there long term and in biger amounts.
Use them for trading and upload the amount you want to trade, everyrhing else it should be kept in the wallet. It's more secure, especialy if you combine more different wallets.
195  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: January 23, 2018, 08:53:45 AM
Do i need to verify all 3 things (address, phone, ID) to get the "verified" status or just one?

I belieive everything comes in a package so you have to verify all 3 kind of data that are connected to your identity. At least that is the situation with every other service like Advcash.

197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which Virtual Card for EU? on: January 22, 2018, 07:58:29 PM
I use ADVCash https://advcash.com - they have a free virtual mastercard (and plastic) (both eu and us) which can be loaded via bitcoin!

I could suggest this one too.
It's still available because it's not Visa but MasterCard so it's not affected with Visa-Wave Crest issue. Although virtual card has lower limit than plastic, I think. The one disadvantage is that you can't order plastic card for free but again there is no much choice left for bitcoin debit cards.
198  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: January 22, 2018, 01:57:42 PM
For many users price is all that matters because they are involved with bitcoin because of profit and that is their main motivation.
At early stage motives were quite different but at the moment the majority of people are attracted to bitcoin because of the price and this is the reason for increased number of bitcoiners but just the few are interested in true bitcoin concept.
199  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which Virtual Card for EU? on: January 22, 2018, 09:56:57 AM
I think we have a big gap because of Wave Crest - Visa issue and currently I realy don't know which card to recommend.
Mistertango is still working I guess, because they issue MasterCard but I don't know the exact limits. Without verification they are probably low but with them it's very quick process if you are using their mobile app.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think cryptocurrencies have the potential to overtake regular currencies? on: January 19, 2018, 02:45:33 PM
I don't think cryptocurrencies are about to overtake fiat currencies. But that even isn't their purpose.
They are too unstable with too much different limitations and the financial system based on them would be too chaotic. But still they have and will have in the future very importnt rule and with time more and more people will accept them.
