Wow that is some serious money you made there OP. Congratulations, maybe you could get some kind of God or superior being to whisper similar winning tips in my ear.

That'd be great Grin

Allah is back, I'll be thinking of him later when I'm showering single mums in dollar bills at the strip club.

10 mins from placing this bet to payout (was 1-0 and I bet on over 3 goals) https://www.directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=0x52cde744cb235d270a61f7a1bfc3529af959d3cf

A nice win earlier today too - https://www.directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=0x783be82edc7b7f1f4268fcb4ed25eccad0e5c300

but a stinker last night - https://www.directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=0x3275320a76e191c5d8836fdc3cfcda5f00815cdd - Allah must have been taking the evening off.

Wow, nice run, OP. Very impressive.

And LOL at posters trying to give advice to OP on how he should manage his bankroll. Too funny.
even though i must agree that it is impressive i think he was just lucky and if he is going to keep on playing then he would just lose all his bitcoins
But he says that he has a helper in his predictions.
Allah gives him the advice on which ones will win and score the most or least amount of goals.
If you can't trust your inner voice who can you trust? Grin

I thought Allah had abandoned me as I've not had any tips since so I didn't bother betting.  But he whispered some sweet nothings in my ear as I ate a bacon sandwich earlier.  "Bet the farm on Celtic" the Mighty One called out.

So I did.

I love the way he toys with me though with those 92nd minute penalties!

Allah Akbar!

I've sent an Eth bet for a football game that starts in 5minutes. I sent the bet over half an hour ago. Its still showing as no bets received, and 0 or 12 confirmations in Mist.

What happens now? If the bet shows up after the game starts, will it be honoured?

I just sent another smaller bet to the same address, which did arrive. So I've no idea why the other one isn't showing. Its not showing in etherscan.io etc

edit - transaction now vanished from Mist so this is an Ethereum issue rather than a Direct Bet one...

Wow, congratulation on winnings, nice to see when someone is wining big. I am just curious, is 500 eth your entire bankroll or part of it? And i don't understand last bet, first bet was 500ETH on 1.21X and last was only 2ETH on 1.22X?

Bankroll is 10x that.  The 2 Eth bet was just my little brother playing at betting.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS CUP 2016 Discussion and Tips on: August 01, 2016, 02:20:39 PM
It was bitter sweet as I had tried to bet more than double that amount but had the bet declined.  So I was happy to win but sad the profits could have been 2.5 times what they ended up being lol.
What the time you put that bet? Before the start of the game or in the live game?
I have seen your winning thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1571457.0
You have a huge bankroll , which give you advantage on it.
Just last few more question , are you always been this lucky before? Will you consider open a tipster thread to helping other? I think winning more than 9 times in a row is not just a luck , it's a skill  Shocked

I put the bet on in play.

I'm not going to do a tipster thread as I think people here mostly don't understand managing your bankroll... I don't want people moaning at me as they went all in on something I posted, and lost the lot Cheesy

that is impressive congrats, your win is big. and by the looks of it you are gambling on sports right? it is simpler to make profit this way.

one question.
how much did you lose in the days leading to this win?

Nothing, I'm in profit overall.  I lost on the UFC main event last night but won on Krylov.  And this:

Real Madrid v Chelsea , Total Goals , 5 goals or more
200 ETH @ 2.44 Settled Won

Bet Received :
Amount Received : 5 ETH.

Ether Transaction ID : 0xf7d9a9a15xxxxxx

Confirmed Odds : 1.33

Bet Status : Confirmed

To Win : 6.65 ETH.

Open for additional betting.

Please send the amount you wish to bet to the following Ether address :

Open in Wallet

Max Bet : 50 ETH.

On this page its telling me to make further bets, and where to send the money.  Wouldn't it make sense to tell me the current odds? Without that info I can't decide whether I want to bet more or not.
192  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 31, 2016, 02:53:52 PM
I'd rather you gave me a lower limit that was guaranteed.

If you bet 50 ETH or less it is guaranteed not to be rejected for being over the limit.

The max bet size usually increases as we approach the event start time as odds become more reliable.

During UFC in-play betting the odds are often less reliable and therefore the max bet size is usually reduced to 50 ETH.

Yes I understand I can bet 50 ETH to guarantee it goes through, but I want to bet more than that and seemingly sometimes you guys want to accept the bets.   This is not related to UFC only, the same problem is with football too (I posted the exact same thing with the Chelsea v Real Madrid game)

No 'real' bookmakers have this issue, I can bet on Ladbrokes, William hill, paddy power etc and I am never going to have a bet declined like this.  If you're willing to take a 500 Ether bet it doesn't seem to make sense that the limit drops to 50 Ether a minute later, then another minute later shoots back up to 300 ethers, then down to 100, then back to 500. Its awful for the customer as its now down to sheer luck whether the bet is going to be honoured or not. And as mentioned before when betting in play, sending a series of 50 Eth bets isn't going to work.
193  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 31, 2016, 02:41:45 AM
I've just been done out of a bet because of that bet limit issue I posted about earlier.

I tried to put that bet on in play, I placed it quickly but the bet limit changed and by the time that went from 'no bet received' to 'pending' to 'rejected' I'd lost the chance to place the bet again. So about $1500 in profit just went up in smoke.  The current system of bet limits is poor from the user point of view.  Your suggestions last time simply don't work - if I'm betting on a fight with 2 minutes left I can't split my bet into 10 transactions, or use the negotiate odds option.

edit - just to pre-empt anyone else jumping on this.  I'm obviously not expecting this bet to be paid out, since it was cancelled and refunded as per the rules.  I just want to see a better system for managing bet limits so that we're not placing bets in the first place that will end up cancelled.

I'd rather you gave me a lower limit that was guaranteed.  If rather you'd let me I'd have put 300 Ether on if it was 100% going to be honoured, than take my chances with a 500 Eth bet that may or may not be allowed to go through.

Bet using Ethereum and all your transactions will confirm near instantly.
195  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 31, 2016, 12:45:24 AM
What about https://www.directbet.eu/Event.cshtml?EventID=27867265?

I've just put a 200 Ether bet on the main event but I couldn't place this bet earlier today due to bet limits. Again its not a major issue as I intend to stay up and watch the fights anyway but from a customer point of view I'd rather be able to place bets at my convenience, not making them at 1am because this was the first time the bet limits were large enough.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Girls also gamble? on: July 30, 2016, 10:04:44 PM
You don't really see any women involved when it comes to high level betting on sports.  They don't really have the brain power to manage it.  You need logic and rational thinking; these skills aren't often found in ladies.  Also once a month they become completely insane which is no good for betting.
197  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 30, 2016, 09:59:42 PM
I just tried to compare Krylov, 4/9 odds on PaddyPower but I can't even bet on him on Direct Bet (though I can bet on his opponent)
198  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: July 30, 2016, 09:58:36 PM
It seems to be very hit and miss with the UFC stuff.  Right now with the Namajunas fight and the Lawler one, it'd be better to bet on Direct Bet than Paddy Power.  But sometimes that goes massively in the other direction.   Combine that with a max bet of only 50 Eth and its really not great.  I love using them for soccer but MMA there is poor overall.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe that win in gambling is depending on your luck ? on: July 30, 2016, 09:33:04 PM
In sports betting, its pure skill.  Sure there is some luck involved in specific incidents (an injury time goal turned this losing bet into a winner for me this evening - https://www.directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=0x7ad952f25b9bfe1caa382697ad50ce3d5ffcd5f9 )

Being able to set odds is a skill. If you can do that better than the bookies oddsmaker then you'll make money in the long run. Bear in mind you don't only need to beat the odds maker, you also need to beat him by 10% or whatever the house margin is, just to break even.   Then anything you out perform them by over and above this, is your profit.

So you should be regularly making bets that you expect to lose, purely because you think the odds were not accurate on the bookmakers site.  Anyone who can't understand that concept, should probably give up gambling, or just play Dice or something.

Is there anything that can be done with the issue of rejecting bets for being over the limits?

Its really not good for the user experience when you're trying to place large bets.  That 500 ether bet was within the allowed limits when I went to pay for it, but it must have changed in the following seconds and my bet gets declined.  Then I'm refreshing the page and watching the bet amount randomly jump between 50, 100, 200+ , etc etc.

I placed another bet at a smaller amount immediately afterwards, but if I didn't have any more Ether in my account I'd also need to wait on the first one refunding.  Not a major issue if you're betting on future events but given we're betting in play that could be a massive loss (for either me or you depending on what happens on the park in that time Cheesy )

I love using your site and betting with Ether but for me this is the one poor part of the service that I simply wouldn't see if I bet on Ladbrokes or PaddyPower.
