181  Economy / Economics / Re: This Will make you rich on: May 15, 2024, 04:36:27 PM
The top 1% (going with the OP's assumption) are not in public view, they know how to use their money to make more money and we should not aspire to be one of this because their life is full of stress beyond our imagination.

Rather invest in your own education if you are young and hone your skills in the field you work in, develop your own networks and start being your own boss. Eventually you will be earning good amounts of money and start investing from that. Forget about the super-rich and other bullshit and focus on building your own money.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: May 15, 2024, 04:22:04 PM
Determine how often you gamble maybe it's once a week bi weekly or once a month.
Setting your own bar on how long you want to gamble or how much money you want to gamble is a good method to control your gambling related spending. There are people who are struggling to keep this going because it takes self-discipline and composed state to execute and gamblers lack these habits, reason why they became addicted in the first place.

But once they start doing it they will be able to overcome their addiction and eventually reduce the budget and end up with being able to save their savings.

The nature of gambling is such that it makes you play more by infusing the competitive spirit in you. The way to conquer this is to understand that your battle is not with the casino but with yourself.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 04:18:21 PM
I know someone like this aunty and it's not pleasing to watch because she became addicted and always made bets every night in the lottery and her husband was scolding him every time he found out. Though she wins sometimes it didn't really matter because of how huge the amount of money she already lost. she was convinced by her neighbor and became addicted without even realizing it, so environment and community really matter, and not only her but also other women in the neighborhood are also doing it that's why it became the norm there until the police found out about it and caught the men behind it because their operations are illegal.
Busted operations sound nice to the ears, but you have to observe the root cause of this type of behavior. That lady is a gambling addict and the addiction is inside them ready to take control whenever they see a chance to gamble. Hence the lady should be careful to avoid any sort of chance based games in the future and the people living with her should be made knowledgeable about it so they can intervene when she shows relapse.

Knowing the operators who run shady casino ops like these, they are likely to be back under another header and another place. Hence be vigilant and make people aware of such operations.
184  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What's Causing The Decline In Web Traffic Of Most CEX Exchanges? on: May 14, 2024, 01:57:23 PM
Whats up with all these shills of bitget?

There is no drop in traffic, they are working fine and people are using them fine as well. CEXs are like the center point of buying crypto, rather people are more scared to use DEXs. Most CEXs are expanding their operations in different niche crypto communities and countries to get those people into their traffic, which as always is ever increasing.

Nothing really to worry about though and even if there was, we forum members would be powerless to stop it.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto as job salary - Yay or Nay? on: May 14, 2024, 01:52:20 PM
Considering the exorbitant taxation on bitcoin transactions in my country and that it is accepted by literally no merchant, I would prefer having fiat as a salary, if I am in a job.

So it all boils down to these factors,
whether bitcoin or crypto is accepted by most merchants and shops in your city?
Are the exchanges and the government in good terms about crypto?
and maybe some more.

Since salary is the biggest source of money to be spent over the month, you want it in something that you can spend easily - for groceries, food and daily needs.
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 14, 2024, 01:47:37 PM
I am aware of the fact that clocks dont exist on the physical casinos and doors and windows are also kept minimal, but I did not come across that "hyper-focus" term, what I prefer to use is the "drunken gambler" because of so much booze and at times psycho gambler because of the effect of some drugs (invariably) and energy drinks with caffeine in them.

Indeed those increase the health hazard and your fatty liver. So better to stick to online casinos that offer more in terms of bonuses and not consumed drinks and you got your device clock to refer for the time of the day.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: May 14, 2024, 01:43:16 PM
This is well understood by anyone mature enough that the casino is the winner in the long term and not the players, which is why the casinos flourish and the players go down in debt. The jackpot winner also has a cumulative loss that is bigger than the entire jackpot, so they are also not actually winners but net losers.

Hence the games at a casino should be played only for the entertainment value and not as quick method to make money because they will not make but break your balance. In case you see a short term profit, cash it out and dont come back. If you immediately lose, accept it and dont try to win it back.
188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing all your fortune with just 3 years on: May 13, 2024, 09:21:33 AM
The lives of businessmen are often filled with vices, that include drinking, gambling and hookers. However safe and successful businessmen maintain discipline in their lifestyle with a moderation in entertainment.

Even more celebs and sport personal waste their lives on such lavish spendings. Here again discipline is important which is much lacking because of their background.

Thing to learn here is that whatever may be your income, moderate your spending.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling: Modern entertainment or highly addictive game? on: May 13, 2024, 09:08:52 AM
As long as it is kept once a year trip to Vegas with a limitation on the total budget to spend, it should be good. Then there are those who go there and don't come back, which is a horrible thing.

For online gambling, the easy access to the site means more regular attendance from gamblers.

It's all there just to make things easier for the addicted gamblers. Those who don't gamble don't care at all about so many casino websites.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this true or some superstitious believe about gambling? on: May 13, 2024, 09:03:55 AM
People have many superstitions about many things but gambling and relating it to the devil is common in many religions. It is because of people who observe gamblers they concluded that gambling being a sinful act leads to bad outcomes.

Of course over here he was just trying to warn you from gambling. But it is ultimately your choice to gamble or not.

It is always true that long term casino is the winner. Hence decision making to gamble should be done with a clear head.

192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: May 12, 2024, 07:35:05 AM
Trading is definitely not for everyone as trading is a matter of great skill and knowledge.
I would not say great skills but specific mindset is needed and knowledge is of course helpful but can be easily gained from online sources and just watching the market everyday.

The major mindset change is that when the market is dropping, you should not panic and sell and when the market is rising you should not FOMO and buy. You have to do the opposite to be able to profit. The ones who realize this and are able to execute their trades in the proper lines, will profit.

But this can be understood best with dummy trading on your own if you dont want to risk real money right away.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2024, 07:32:35 AM
I think they don't know that we are in a digital world now.
Being in the digital world is not equal to knowing about bitcoin. There are digtal payment systems and online payments which are the hallmark of a digital era but bitcoin is nowhere within it, so dont equate them.

Now since I have been with bitcoin since 2015, there was a time when a handful of people knew about bitcoin in my country. From there today I can see bitcoin casinos being promoted with banners on the passing by cars and people casually talking about the recent altcoin investments.

So indeed we have improved, but there is a huge room for further improvement. Misconceptions cannot always be cleared, your job is to help clear them as much as possible.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 12, 2024, 07:28:22 AM
Do you research the casino features before playing? Do you find these features useful for the casino and the player at the same time?
Players do research them before joining, more like review them all from gambling review sites before they sign up. Because everyone wants some bonus when they join and dont want to spend more and just get more.

However most of the bonus and all are methods to just attract wondering souls with the hidden gambling habits. To get them to play and spend and eventually get addicted to the platform. The earlier you realize this the better because gambling should be done for fun and not to make money.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: May 12, 2024, 07:18:10 AM
Their is desperation because when a gambler is at high loses he becomes very desperate and all his thinking faculty get blocked off because all what his mind will be telling him is to actually find a way to recover that funds even when he knows that he doesn't have nothing left to play somethings he can even sell his property at the spot or loan them because he is desperate and also too greedy to let go but on the greed aspect it's not too clear because only your emotions here and there can flip things for ya.
This is enhanced by the fact that the casino is like a machine which can both make money and lose money and is right in front of the gambler. So they get a false confidence that they can make the money back right from the casino if they play with more money. This increases the chances of their losses and stacks up more losses before they can recover and ultimately leads to a vicious cycle.

That is when all the borrowing money and all that comes in place. Which is another mistake waiting to be made.

The method to get out of this cycle is stop playing and find other ways to make the money back and pay off debts.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: May 12, 2024, 07:13:52 AM
I did promoting my referral link on my signature space, not sure how long I wear it, probably 3-6 months. But I only get less than 10 referrals, most of them didn't gamble, some of them use faucet to gamble, either 1-2 users made deposit, but the amount was too low, I can't even withdraw my reward. Cheesy
You need a regular turnover and that brings in more active players because the maximal chance of them depositing money and playing the games (to lose) is when they sign up and not later on. In case they find the site interesting they might stay back and gamble there from time to time but this number is indeed small than the previous number.

Streamers therefore do regular streams and give out promos and all that crap at regular intervals. That is important here to be active and not place one post and sleep on it.

It is a tough job and a very competitive one, if you can find a niche area, then it might work better.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 11, 2024, 10:26:22 AM
I see that current youth is inspired by celebrities and influencers in big way. Did you also start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? Or you know people who belong to that category ? Is it a wise decision to do so or we should do our own research for better results ?
Those two things usually do not go together - bitcoin and getting influenced by celebs to buy specifically bitcoin.

I think these celebs are more likely to promote altcoins and NFTs and that crap and the people who listen to them will buy them too. But bitcoin, nobody sponsors it, why will that celeb promote it? Think about it yourself.

I started bitcoin because I saw users accepting payments in it and I got interested in knowing more about it.
198  Economy / Economics / Re: Personal Financial Goals vs Government expectations! on: May 11, 2024, 10:20:21 AM
Truth is you cannot escape the system of taxation.

The ones who can are the ones who are super rich, government dont really care about them. The middle class suffers the most. The way I see it, taxation is a necessary evil which you cannot stop and hence have to learn to live with.

Thus spend only what is needed and budget your spending properly. Cut down on useless stuff like alcohol and fast food. Stop watching netflix and move back to bittorrent. These are only examples but can be applied in reality.
