181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NemosMiner-v1.7.3 multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner for MPH & ZPOOL on: May 30, 2017, 11:41:59 AM
working on
NemosMiner-v1.7.4-YiiMP (http://yiimp.ccminer.org) & NemosMiner-v1.7.4-hashrefinery (http://pool.hashrefinery.com/site/mining)

I just installed Windows 10 on my miners.
Because of Nemos I had to say goodbye to Linux.
That automatic drivers update feature is pure horror:)
Hoping you will start working on Linux version soon.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining on: May 29, 2017, 09:50:45 AM
I've switched from win10 to nvOC as I was heaving issues with windows hanging from time to time and I have couple questions:

1. I have 3 1060 from different manufacturers and when I set power limit to anything from 70W to 84W it works on 2 of them but the third one, which is palit, is running always at 94W and it won't get lower, is this something limited by cards bios?
2. In windows with latest drivers I'm getting 22.5-22.8 Mhs in eth per gtx1060 using Claymores miner but in nvOS I'm getting 21Mhs with exactly same settings (core +120, memory +700, PL 84W) Is this typical for eth because of how Claymore wrote his miner for linux or simply I should look for different settings because of OS/driver differences?

nvidia-smi -i 0 --query-gpu=power.min_limit,power.max_limit --format=csv
where -i "number" is the gpu you want to query
regarding second question, I am also seeing discrepancies, try higher overclock or higher PL
also, go for 378 driver!

Greetings,
one of my miners mining skein keeps disappearing from the dashboard although it keeps happily mining without errors. Its also showing in #earnings dashboard, however.
I like to keep an eye on them, so is there a way to fix this disappearance problem?
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining on: May 29, 2017, 05:53:05 AM
Greetings fullzero and Linux aficionados,
I have been in love-hate relationship with Linux for two years, he is not perfect and I am demanding but also inexperienced  lover, therefore the hate part.
In the long run there may even be a wedding Smiley
So, to all of you having problems and thinking of giving up: persevere, be tolerant and learn! We need to emancipate ourselves from Microsoft.

Anyway, back to topic.
What is the correct procedure for adding gpus? Not on nvOC, but generally on Ubuntu?
Should I connect all of them, or one-by-one?
Because I have a problem with nvidia-settings seeing 3 cards and lspci showing all four.
Thanks.

Windows rightmouse on win dows icon
select run  type cmd.exe

FTW: right-click in  windows explorer while holding shift key and select "open command windows here".

also need to add speed to password 1070=420sols  "equihash=0.42"

Hi minerx,
are you sure its 0.42 that needs to be added for equihash?
And any ideas why Zcash is greyed-out on Zpool?

yes im sure.. it disabled because it would take over a week for zpool to find a zcash block..

Thanks, no use then, disabling.

I think that the reference 480s were the main cause of those dreadful images of burnt SATA cables.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-rx-480-polaris-10,4616-9.html

Quote
We skipped long-term overclocking and overvolting tests, since the Radeon RX 480’s power consumption through the PCIe slot jumped to an average of 100W, peaking at 200W. We just didn’t want to do that to our test platform.

On the other hand:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-pascal,4679-6.html

Now, what puzzles me is how the hell can SATA with its 25W power provide enough power to the pciex1 slot on the riser?

The answer is simple. SATA provides more than 90W of pure power!
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#sata

So whoever started spreading that 25W bullshit needs to apologize for spreading... well, bullshit!

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Temporarily using a 007S risers to power GPU's until 006C arrives? on: May 26, 2017, 03:53:04 PM
sata = shit.
molex are good if you undervolt your gpu
pcie are best in all case.

There is nothing wrong with using the sata style, i have literally thousands of them running on everything from R9 380s to RX series as well as the power hungry R9 Fury. As long as you dont put more than 2-3 adapters per chain coming off of the PSU you wont have any problems

Hard to argue with your argument.

Whats wrong with 007S?

the 7's use sata or molex  the 6's use pcie

whats wrong with sata/molex risers?

192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: May 26, 2017, 07:56:43 AM
I just installed MPM, very impressive piece of work! Now all is needed is Linux version Smiley
But I am confused: it selects coins from the "no normalization" list and yet all my gpus are Nvidias. How come it does not select coins/algos from "Nvidia" list selection because my .bat has only -type nvidia?
Also, do I have to include Lyra2RE2 in the .bat for Vertcoin mining?
Thanks.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hardware question - 775 mobo for multi gpu set-up? on: May 25, 2017, 06:04:26 PM
thanks for the replies guys. I've also been reading on dummy plugs. is it an issue with 775 mobos to have dummy plugs on gpus which aren't connected to a monitor?

no problem on linux with nvidia
on windows you need one gpu connected to monitor
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hardware question - 775 mobo for multi gpu set-up? on: May 25, 2017, 04:56:38 AM
For single GPU usage no problem. I even used Pentium 4 based s775 motherboards.
But you may have to bridge pins on PCIEx1 slots when using risers.
Instructions here
https://www.gobitgo.com/articles/1001/How-To-Correctly-Use-and-Install-PCI-E-Riser-Cables/
Also, that quad core should be undervolted or you can simply swap it for a Celeron for a couple of dollars.

@fatsailor
have you set PCIE slot bus speed to Gen1/2 and disabled audio/integrated graphics in the BIOS?
have you tried 378 drivers? they are recommended in any case.
also, try this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.msg18981417#msg18981417

Greetings,
my balance has been above .01 for two days now, still no transfer, how come?
http://zpool.ca/?address=1ki2MRXwDj19ZCgx9Latajc8LVJ8PR78a
Thanks.

Total unpaid is un-confirmed.

"Balance" is all funds that have sold and cleared on the exchange and ready to payout.

Looks like you'll get one on the next payout or the one after.

Thanks jwarren81 and Jared for answering (this and  that other question) Smiley

Current top miner on flypool added over 200 rigs today, most of THOSE look like single-card NVidia or dual-card RX-470 ballpark....

Most of cracks on TPB install miners these days.

Howdy fellas,
is there any downside for using Cuda 8.0 with Pascal cards and ccminer?
Should I downgrade to 7.5?
Thanks.

POS FUD complicates the investment decisions of any ETH class ASIC effort.

Smoke and mirrors.
