181  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: January 12, 2017, 07:10:43 AM
Gold is dead and no one wants it man. I know lots of people through work, my kids school, family, extended family and I am very vocal about Bitcoin and have discussed gold with many people around me. Some professionals, some on social aid ect and the one thing is for sure. They all think gold is worthless in their life but they can see the benefit of bitcoin and understand how it can directly affect their life.

My kids, they dont want gold. They want crypto. My friends, none of us want gold, we all want crypto. So at least around me no one wants gold. My father used to invest in gold mining companies and has even pulled all of those investments and put them in better places like facebook apple and bitcoin. You need to forget about the old and get with the new. The next generation of children will all want bitcoin and I can promise none of them will want to hold gold. Only gold they will want is around their finger.

Just admit. Gold cant do shit, cant help us and surely cant change our lives for the better but bitcoin and digital currencies can and will.

How can you state "gold is dead and no one wants it" when $20 trillion gold is traded annually - you are obviously talking bollocks.

Your kids dont want gold because you preach bitcoin to them.
Your friends dont want gold because most friends have smiliar interests e.g computer nerds hence bitcoin.

Market caps dont lie and if you think $20 trillion in trades= no demand then you are retarded.

Bitcoin is ok for small time traders but is illiquid for large scale trading.

Occasionally as much as $5 billion gold is dumped into the futures market by traders in one hit, what would happen to bitcoin price if that happened on Bitstamp  Grin

Marketcap. LOL. Myspace had a big market cap once, so did 8track players. Both are nowhere to be seen today. And while some companies, governments and financial institutions are still trading gold it by no means leads us to believe that gold will still be wanted or needed 5-10 years from now. You seriously need to sell your gold and move into the future will all of us or get left behind in the past like the guys who are still using pagers.

You really think gold is just something you trade with? You forget about its importance in industry, jewelry etc.? Yeah in 5 years women will ditch their rings and bracelets and just hang a hardware wallet around their neck Smiley
Its been used for thousands of years, not only as money, so you gotta rethink what you just posted, I KNOW gold will have some value in future, atleast in my lifespan.  You cant compare it to some outdated pager, in any point of view
182  Economy / Economics / Re: $1100 to $750 is significant on: January 12, 2017, 06:54:49 AM
what i do is not based on times like this, i bought when price was low at $200 then sold a small portion when price had its first rapid rise and then bought back more bitcoin because i had profit.

then waited for another rapid rise and i did the same thing and bought back again.

after doing this a couple of times i now posses lots of bitcoin that i never though i could have.

and this rise was no different, i only sold a small portion on $1100 and i have been buying back at different levels and mostly at the 750-800 dollar range because of it being the bottom.

Good strategy, and very nicely done. It require a big portion of luck and even bigger portion of courage Cheesy
I still dont feel comfortable doing that, but I gotta try it with small amount, not much to lose I guess. Bitcoin is excellent for that, its volatility is great, even without this China pump and dump has good range on daily basis.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News! PBOC inspects Chinese Bitcoin Exhcanges on: January 11, 2017, 12:23:47 PM
Damn I wanna cry when I see how it sinks, minute after minute... Although im here for the long term it makes me worried. I bet they will find whatever they want, its china government after all. Well we all depend on them now, no matter if we dont like it, but considering china market and its significant to bitcoin market.... So it will be hell of a ride Cheesy
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can any altcoin overcome BTC? on: January 10, 2017, 07:38:06 PM
Its not very likely that any altcoin will overcome Bitcoin. It become brand name. Many people I talk to call all crypto "bitcoin". Not much have heard of ETH, Monero, Doge or any.
My favorite altcoin is Monero, and Bitcoin have almost 80 times more market cap then monero, and 15 more then ETH which is second. Its big difference if you ask me, not easy to get overrun.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 100K€ in Bitcoin does it really worth? on: January 10, 2017, 07:26:29 PM
OP need to give more info if he want decent answers.
We dont know anything... How much is 100k $ of your portofolio? If its 10 or 20% then I would say yes, go for it Cheesy
But if you give your house to bank for a loan then no, you're crazy :p
Would you survive if you lose all your money on BTC? How long can you wait to  make a profit?
You gotta be more specific, otherwise its bad thread

190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: January 09, 2017, 08:38:56 AM
Probably the best scenario would be our satoshis will be worth more compare today. 20years from now, faucets rewards will be at 1 Sats only per claim per day due to the value of bitcoins.
LOL. And after they reach the minimum withdrawal, they have to pay for the fee which is about 0.0005 and above. Faucets will soon disappear because it is totally trash and waste of time. Nobody will join those faucets anymore since the payout is super super small

Look it this way... If faucet give you 200 satoshi per hour now, maybe it will be worth much bigger in 20 years Cheesy

Jokes aside, its hard to predict 1 month from now, and 20 years... Impossible. If it survives for 20 years it would be win by itself, no matter how much would it worth
191  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 09, 2017, 07:57:53 AM
Silver is better then gold IMHO Tongue

Bitcoin have 1 BIG advantage over gold (if we talk about real gold, not some paper saying you got gold "somewhere").
Try and buy 1 ounce of gold at certificate seller, and come in 1 minute to sold that same 1oz. Spread is GIANT, atleast in my country. With bitcoin spread is much smaller. Gold needs to grow much bigger in order to make you decent profit. There are ways of selling it at higher price to some random dude who saw your add, but it comes with much higher risk of getting robed  Wink
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC will hit 2000 USD feb 17 on: January 09, 2017, 07:27:49 AM
Healthy rise would be not more then 1000-1100$ by end of March.
All of us who is here for the long term would not want pumping price, pump and dump make people scare away
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Investment: risk or benefit? on: January 08, 2017, 06:33:02 PM
I wrote before somewhere, I saw it isnt healthy rise... Usually when it rise too fast, it drops soon. And I'm sorry now I didnt sell it, would have been nice profit. Im here for the long term, and ofcourse I didnt put all eggs in 1 basket. It's sort of a gamble, and i dont bet with money I cant afford to lose
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Investment: risk or benefit? on: January 08, 2017, 04:51:24 PM
Latest drop in price made me worry, I wont lie. And all this China threating also make me wonder.... So yeah, for me its a risk considering all the latest news. Might be becouse I'm rather new to bitcoin so dont know what to believe or not Cheesy
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of wallet do you use? on: January 08, 2017, 04:43:20 PM
I use Electrum wallet, and keep some small amount in echange. I ordered Ledger, cant wait to get it, should be on my doorstep next week Smiley
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: January 06, 2017, 04:26:36 PM
With some ups and downs I believe we will hit 2k this year.
Problem is I still want to purchase good amount of coins, so any UP is not too good for me Cheesy
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your biggest bitcoin regrets? on: January 06, 2017, 04:15:43 PM
That I invested in other things 2013. instead of BTC

And more recent... When I saw rise to 1100$ is too fast, I thought about selling all I got and purchase when it goes to 900$.
Dont know why I didnt have balls to do it, I would made nice profit Cheesy
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft Excel supporting Bitcoin ! on: January 03, 2017, 02:14:00 PM
Its all Bitcoin ever need, big companies to start recognising it. More and more people get involved, more will bitcoin be worth.

I think we passed times when people thought its a big scam, sure there are still people who think that way, but bitcoin grew much. Not only in value, but in all other things such as media and people talking about it.
