181  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 2014 CryptoImperator 10,000 bits, all PCGS graded on: October 02, 2023, 06:59:14 PM
Lot 1: 0.015BTC
Lot 2, 3: 0.001 each

Current high bid

Oh no, who redeemed these historical pieces. There were only 100 minted of these or am I mistaken?
Also, first Bitcoin funded Crypto Imperator coins, correct?

There were 500 made... 100 serialzed and then 350 non-serialized and 50 DIY
And yes, this was their 2nd coin made after the 10,000 Doge coin in the same year
The coins use the same back design and hologram

Thank you very much for that info. Agree with Fattcatt, MJ the all-knowing librarian. Cheesy

I got a 1-digit serial of these, happy to hear it's kinda a rare thing.

Lot 1: 0.0151
182  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Kialara 2014 Original (#109/2500) on: October 02, 2023, 03:10:07 PM

Awesome piece in what seems to be prestine condition.
If I wouldn't have one already in my collection I'd insta-buy for your asking price. Forum sales are pretty low, hope you will find a collector for this historic Kialara piece soon.
183  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SatPulse 1K Bit Collectible - group buy - $135 per coin - ALL RESERVED on: October 02, 2023, 02:26:29 PM
Anyone got theirs already?
Would love to see some non-commercial photos of these and maybe a tiny review on quality and subjective looks.

Did they mention if any consecutive coin releases are planned? @Mopar

Oho, someone tapped into their fountain of creativity it seems. Cool work!
That's up with the number 138? Is it related to the crimson ghost?

Lot 2: 0.0018
Lot 4: 0.0018

Back to the forums and directly in for another Krogoth raffle. A good start to the weekend.

Thanks again for your generosity.
187  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" serie 2 on: September 30, 2023, 12:19:04 PM
Thanks for all your interesting ideas...
It must be fun...

I will do 40 coins at least. If we have less than 40 interested people, I or mj will keep the coins in a vault... or auction them later.

A generous forum member offers us these nice holo for the "Scam Coin" serie 2.  Wink

Being able to access the original holos is another scam in itself. Makers generally guard their holos to the death.

mint yogg's goofy bearded face in glimmering .999.
Ahh, love to see original holos for this one. Haha, can't agree more with your statements - scamming the scam, ouhh yeahhh.
And indeed very suprised to see these surfacing. Quality holograms usually have certain security features that makers will try to protect at all costs.

lot 1 - .0025

Unfortunatelly I think doblezero already topped this bid:
Lot 1- 0.007BTC

I case it was a mis-bid, I'd go for
Lot 1: 0.003

In any case:
Lot 3: 0.021
189  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" serie 2 on: September 26, 2023, 06:33:13 PM
the point of these coins has been lost if the idea is that all coins be loaded and remain loaded.

the theme is "REKT"

the winner is in fact the "scammer" if you think about it.

SBF took everyones money.

what was coin one? everyone lost their funding except the winner - "SBF".

yogg randomly swept cards removing balances - some were able to beat him to it.

what is coin two? coins will be randomly swept - if you are lucky you can be the winner - "Yogg". if you are fast enough you can save your funds.

the coins - the process to funding/not funding/sweeping etc is to follow the theme of the conmen who the coins are modeled after.

Now that all said and done.

A 3rd coin modeled after Titan and their 2FA shenanigans - if we were to do that, I would say all the coins should be funded at (what is the amount he gave? 42%?) the same percentage Tim is paying out - with one coin getting  the rest - the winner would be "Tim"
Regarding your fast & lucky idea with the yogg coins, maybe there is a way to use the timelock function to at a certain blockheight automatically transfer yogged coins' balances to the one winner (yogg) coin?

And in regards of SBF, yes he may have taken everyone's money but not everything of everyone’s money. Meaning people will receive back a (tiny) amount of their funds when the remaining crypto is shared with the accounts affected by the scam (with the help of an official liquidator). Which would have been perfectly reflected by a low load for rekt coins.

Anyway, I am in favor of creating a nice collectible instead of trying to stick to close to reality (which wasn’t the case anyway for the FTX coin as explained above) and therefore for all coins to have a tiny bit of load.

Fantastic, thanks for the pics, Yoda-san.
More bluebits chips missing in my collection...  Cry Roll Eyes Cheesy

Still curious if seek3r will provide something completely unknown?
In any case, will update op when back from vacation at my desktop.
192  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] MYBITS-MERLIN/DRAGON COIN on: September 25, 2023, 11:04:25 AM
For those that asked about pure silver coins they are in the works.....
coin of the left is pure silver! coin or the right is brass

Fantastic, totally looking forward to a silver version. Do you have an estimate on when these will possibly come out?
don’t want to miss these.

The designs and detail here... Just incredible.
193  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" serie 2 on: September 25, 2023, 11:00:46 AM
Confirming interest in this, ideally with matching serial to the ftx coin.

two things:
1. How about this time go with the route Krogoth, 2stout and others opted for in the ftx thread? Rect coins still with a tiny amount of funds, so buyers do actually hold a true loaded Bitcoin collectible?

2. I’ll repeat my concern regarding the fact this is giving a scammer extra immortality by a dedictaed collectible coin. Personally I am fine with it because of the trade-off which is something good and unique coming out of the scam. But would be interested on other collector’s input on this.
194  Economy / Collectibles / Re: (AUCTION) 48hour Squirrel Bits 3 coin set on: September 22, 2023, 08:38:11 PM
Thanks for the additional historical information on these coins.
I do have to check but I believe I only got the b&w version of the 0.001 coin

Let’s start this off: 0.02 BTC
195  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SOLD] Alpen Coin FTX "Scam Bankman-Fried " coin on: September 22, 2023, 06:49:54 PM

I'd be down for one of these coins to continue the series. Cheesy
Me too. Ideally same serial as the FTX coin. Even though slightly mixed feeling of „immortalizing“ a scammer with this thing even more.

„all cold kuntz“ always cracks me up. (not so) Good (not so) old memories.

Am going be the One to Peel it off Guys . Unfortunately I be recording A video for my kids ,once I turn 100(Definely Dead)  years old they can watch the video and peel the scam coin  Shocked Shocked Shocked Wink Wink Wink
Haha, wait what? You peel it, film a video and in half a century (I am guessing here) your kids peel *again*? Confused but fun.

Anyone peeled yet? I guess most won't but even if you do and it’s a rekt one, the pain and shame might let you to not make it public.  Cheesy

Let me rephrase it  . Year 2080 , my kids have will have the right to Peel it for me ,  I be dead by that time . so I will be recording a video present time , " HELLO KITTIES , IF YOU SEE THIS VIDEO NOW BC ITS THE PERFECT TIME TO BE ALIVE , YOU DAD LOVE YA  , I MIGHT NOT BE THERE FOR ALL OF YA NOW , BUT I WOULD LIKE  YOU KIDS TO PEEL " SAM SCAM US " COIN EJJEE . WIN/LOSSES / THIS IS JUST A GAME , YOU MIGHT FIND 0 BALANCE OR SATOSHI GIFTED SATS FROM UNCLE SAM LOL . .  If so use it wisely. _______________________________________________________________________________ _________________________ Wink

Ahhh sure that makes total sense. For some reason I assumed you'd be peeling while recording a video.
Now, a cool idea, with such a low winning chance it could also cause some disappointment, though. Maybe add a few moonbits chips to the stack to soften the impact in case of rektness. Wink
197  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: USB port blocker on: September 22, 2023, 03:05:04 PM
Waste of money.

1) For a desktop PC all you have to do is pop the top and add in a USB card.
2) They are still plastic, with time and effort you can pull one out.
3) For the determined person it's get laptop, take off cover, un-solder the port (only 4 wires on USB 2) and solder in a new one. But at that point you might as well just pull the drive out

Most if not all PCs can disable the USB ports in BIOS and you can also set a BIOS password so that cannot be changed without the password.

-Dave

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the easiest way to reset a BIOS password still to just remove the mainboard battery? Or was that only possible 20 years ago and things have changed? not up to date, but most likely BIOS pws are still quite easy to circumvent I would guess.

200  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Continuous Telegram scam warning on: September 22, 2023, 02:24:56 PM
Right after winning an auction I was contacted by "minerjones" on Telegram to congratulate me...

this also happened to me once and i was contacted by a 'supposed' minerjones. of course i ignored the whole message and deleted it immediately and it was also bad for the scammer that i had already shared some messages with the real minerjones, so i was able to identify him correctly.
maybe minerjones should make his real telegram username public here, so that no users fall for all the scammers...

Sure.. but people still need to be weary, as something simple as someone using a "0" versus an "o"  for a name like "min0rj0nes" or maybe adding an "s" to the end, which I have seen Tongue
Or they add a period at the end or a space....

My username and account name are both the same:  @minerjones
Same as here.....   Cheesy

I would like to add that there are symbols in other languages with a totally different ascii code that can look the same as the letters we are used to in English. There are probably plenty of @minerjones permutations.

Generally speaking it’s good practice to be a slight nuisance and double check by requesting a bitcointalk dm from the correct username id to verify. Did this with liquid and a few others before trusting external bitcointalk communication.
