181  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" serie 2 on: September 25, 2023, 11:00:46 AM
Confirming interest in this, ideally with matching serial to the ftx coin.

two things:
1. How about this time go with the route Krogoth, 2stout and others opted for in the ftx thread? Rect coins still with a tiny amount of funds, so buyers do actually hold a true loaded Bitcoin collectible?

2. I’ll repeat my concern regarding the fact this is giving a scammer extra immortality by a dedictaed collectible coin. Personally I am fine with it because of the trade-off which is something good and unique coming out of the scam. But would be interested on other collector’s input on this.
182  Economy / Collectibles / Re: (AUCTION) 48hour Squirrel Bits 3 coin set on: September 22, 2023, 08:38:11 PM
Thanks for the additional historical information on these coins.
I do have to check but I believe I only got the b&w version of the 0.001 coin

Let’s start this off: 0.02 BTC
183  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SOLD] Alpen Coin FTX "Scam Bankman-Fried " coin on: September 22, 2023, 06:49:54 PM

I'd be down for one of these coins to continue the series. Cheesy
Me too. Ideally same serial as the FTX coin. Even though slightly mixed feeling of „immortalizing“ a scammer with this thing even more.

„all cold kuntz“ always cracks me up. (not so) Good (not so) old memories.

Am going be the One to Peel it off Guys . Unfortunately I be recording A video for my kids ,once I turn 100(Definely Dead)  years old they can watch the video and peel the scam coin  Shocked Shocked Shocked Wink Wink Wink
Haha, wait what? You peel it, film a video and in half a century (I am guessing here) your kids peel *again*? Confused but fun.

Anyone peeled yet? I guess most won't but even if you do and it’s a rekt one, the pain and shame might let you to not make it public.  Cheesy

Let me rephrase it  . Year 2080 , my kids have will have the right to Peel it for me ,  I be dead by that time . so I will be recording a video present time , " HELLO KITTIES , IF YOU SEE THIS VIDEO NOW BC ITS THE PERFECT TIME TO BE ALIVE , YOU DAD LOVE YA  , I MIGHT NOT BE THERE FOR ALL OF YA NOW , BUT I WOULD LIKE  YOU KIDS TO PEEL " SAM SCAM US " COIN EJJEE . WIN/LOSSES / THIS IS JUST A GAME , YOU MIGHT FIND 0 BALANCE OR SATOSHI GIFTED SATS FROM UNCLE SAM LOL . .  If so use it wisely. _______________________________________________________________________________ _________________________ Wink

Ahhh sure that makes total sense. For some reason I assumed you'd be peeling while recording a video.
Now, a cool idea, with such a low winning chance it could also cause some disappointment, though. Maybe add a few moonbits chips to the stack to soften the impact in case of rektness. Wink
185  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: USB port blocker on: September 22, 2023, 03:05:04 PM
Waste of money.

1) For a desktop PC all you have to do is pop the top and add in a USB card.
2) They are still plastic, with time and effort you can pull one out.
3) For the determined person it's get laptop, take off cover, un-solder the port (only 4 wires on USB 2) and solder in a new one. But at that point you might as well just pull the drive out

Most if not all PCs can disable the USB ports in BIOS and you can also set a BIOS password so that cannot be changed without the password.

-Dave

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the easiest way to reset a BIOS password still to just remove the mainboard battery? Or was that only possible 20 years ago and things have changed? not up to date, but most likely BIOS pws are still quite easy to circumvent I would guess.

188  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Continuous Telegram scam warning on: September 22, 2023, 02:24:56 PM
Right after winning an auction I was contacted by "minerjones" on Telegram to congratulate me...

this also happened to me once and i was contacted by a 'supposed' minerjones. of course i ignored the whole message and deleted it immediately and it was also bad for the scammer that i had already shared some messages with the real minerjones, so i was able to identify him correctly.
maybe minerjones should make his real telegram username public here, so that no users fall for all the scammers...

Sure.. but people still need to be weary, as something simple as someone using a "0" versus an "o"  for a name like "min0rj0nes" or maybe adding an "s" to the end, which I have seen Tongue
Or they add a period at the end or a space....

My username and account name are both the same:  @minerjones
Same as here.....   Cheesy

I would like to add that there are symbols in other languages with a totally different ascii code that can look the same as the letters we are used to in English. There are probably plenty of @minerjones permutations.

Generally speaking it’s good practice to be a slight nuisance and double check by requesting a bitcointalk dm from the correct username id to verify. Did this with liquid and a few others before trusting external bitcointalk communication.

190  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: September 20, 2023, 01:21:23 PM
1st french digital stamp available.

https://www.laposte.fr/timbre-nft
https://nftimbre.com

snapshot
https://ibb.co/rF5g9yT

Some tech datas
- account needed
- 100000 ex, 8€ each
- no tier ie no rarity effect lke the CS1 colored NFT
- tezos blockchain
- you get a tezos adress associated with your account but not the private key
- payment with fiat only
- no postal fees if you buy 2 stamps. Not sure if this apply for customer oversea

I expected N Mandela on the stamp. My mistake.

Thanks for sharing these....I like the NFT designs as well...are they gooing to come out with any physical counterparts stamps?

Of course they will. As stated above 'no postal fees if you buy 2 stamps. Not sure if this apply for customer oversea'.
Expect a few weeks before delivery especially if you live outside EU.

Remember : in France, our website are in french only Grin
For non native speaker, i would suggest to add TWP (translate Wen Page) extension to your browser.

I dunno, a mintage of 100k without a rarity tier system is kinda off-putting. Still, generally speaking it's nice to see physical items making use of a decentralized blockchain one way or another.
But the design...  Sad There are so many talented artists out there, I don't get it. Actually, taking a second look the artwork itself is okay, but text, QR-code etc. just stands out in a very bad way.

It's interesting to see this thing on the Tezos network, I wonder if it's a sponsored thing. Haven't heard much about Tezos recently, their initial project had some good approaches back then.
191  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Casascius Coin, 0.5 BTC Silver, 2013 on: September 20, 2023, 01:11:38 AM
Cool coin, even though ofc in slightly sad condition.
Still an amazing piece of Bitcoin history.

[...]
Starting bid is 0.6 BTC, 0.1 BTC increments.
[...]
You can set-up your auction however you like, but just saying bid increments of 0.1 are pretty rough. 0.01 to 0.02 would probably generate more action and it's still junky.
192  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Kialara - Soul of Satoshi on: September 20, 2023, 01:01:31 AM
Pretty cool piece that went under the radar regarding Max's releases I think.

Also something to notice: The color of the bar is actually quite silver-ish, in the photo it looks more like some valyrian steel. Cheesy

That would be much appraciated!
You can just send me a dm or directly post the photos here, I'll update OP.

Also an update regarding the 0.005 Bluebits chip coming soon.

Great news. Let me know if you need pics from some stuff that is missing. Might be possible that I can help u out with something..

Anything else missing from OP? Please let me know and I'll add it. If you got photos even better.

Looks like you finally found out about the right colour for the .005 chip,  eh? Cheesy
Haha, not sure how you felt, but I was in for quite a suprise when I finally saw the true colors of the chip. Aggressive red instead of the expected boring blue.
195  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Bitcoin Magazine Issue 1 - Graded 9.0 by CGC! on: September 20, 2023, 12:50:40 AM
0.05 BTC

Pretty steep bid increments. But for sure a great rating / condition for a #1 issue, nice to see an auction going.
I never realized they were released in 2012, that's truely an early piece of Bitcoin history. Even before the 2013 hype and Mt. Gox fiasco.
196  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Free Satoshi Skull decal! Greenpeace hit piece.. lol on: September 19, 2023, 12:37:08 AM
Take a look at this, the image has become a sculpture that you can go see.

I love that people enjoyed this image so much. It was so ridiculous, the obvious thing to do was to take its design and use it. Kudos to whatever artist put this together and made it a reality. I really appreciated seeing it. Enjoy!

Maybe I am missing something and this is a different sculpture / artwork.
However the original was a (this?) sculpture and the sticker just a photo of the thing. My guess it was now transported to some other place and put in front of an art galary on the street (as seen on the picture).

@mx12.levins  Cool stuff, thanks for sharing and keep it up!

Why didn't you include the 4 chip Diamond series??

Hey KW,

If you need pics of the Diamond series, lmk.  I have the grey, blue, yellow & red chips ✌🏼

That would be much appraciated!

Hallo Blockparty Freunde,

And thanks again for yet another generous free raffle.

Is the Bitcoin rising ballet wallet already produced? Do you sell it?
The coldkey card with that design is, despite what happened with yogg, still one of my favourites. And luckily it was an unfunded edition all along.

Recent 1 oz silver rainbow Tenth coins already looked incredible in-hand. Judging from the photos here, this might top it.
Can't wait to have them in hand and see for myself.

Also, thinking about adding one or two singles.
