Our team continued developing our project last month. We had unexpected difficulties with our servers. Our storage ran out of free space. We ordered more powerful one. Also we set up a new server for our website. After it we were checking all our services at our new servers. Relocation was successful.

We’ve recently made the decision. We want to implement the phone service. It will be helping to our users. Our team plans to use a third-party partner for telephony. With our tokensale almost here we’ve updated the timetable for the community.

Aeron — highlights from EASA European Plan for Aviation Safety (EPAS) 2018–2022

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has recently released a comprehensive European Plan for Aviation Safety (EPAS) for years 2018–2022. This plan helps the stakeholders in identification of major safety risks and actions to take.

While year 2017 has been the safest year ever for commercial aviation, the situation is dramatically different for general aviation. This is where Aeron strives to make an impact.

Refer to section “5.5 General Aviation” on page 52:

“In the last years, accidents involving recreational aeroplanes have led to an average of nearly 80 fatalities per year in Europe (excluding fatal accidents involving microlight airplanes), which makes it one of the sectors of aviation with the highest yearly number of fatalities. Furthermore, in 2016, there were 78 fatalities in non-commercial operations with aeroplanes (2nd highest number) and 20 in the domain of glider/sailplane operations (2nd highest number). These two areas present the highest numbers of fatal accidents in 2015. The General Aviation Road Map is key to the EASA strategy in this domain. This area is a strategic priority.

Although it is difficult to measure precisely the evolution of safety performance in GA due to lack of consolidated data (e.g. accumulated flight hours), it is reasonable to assume that step changes in the existing safety level are not being achieved at European level, despite all initiatives and efforts.”

With pilot flight log records recorded in blockchain, the entire pilot’s career progression will be verifiable, leading to more transparent qualification system and eventually to safer skies.

Dock.io (DOCK) ICO Analysis: A Decentralized Professional Data Exchange Protocol

Project Description
The freelancing scene has been growing steadily over the years and platforms like Upwork and Fiverr have grown to positions of prominence in the market. One of the biggest problems facing this market sector, however, is the fact that users on the platforms do not own their data. What this means is: if you spend a couple of years on a particular platform and you complete a number of projects, get some reviews and some recommendations etc., you cannot transfer the data to another platform.

dock.io team aims to build a platform that, according to them, will allow the easy integration of data from different sources (not just freelancing websites) along with regular and automatic updates. Users on dock.io should also be able to receive updates from multiple websites at once. Furthermore, data providers — the platforms that the data originates from— may be able to send data to a user’s profile on dock.io with approval from the user.

dock.io team claims that all data stored on their platform will be encrypted by IPFS. Furthermore, all the data on dock.io will be updated by the user off-chain; this should serve to assure applications that the data is a continuation of the previous, and that the version being received is the latest available. Additionally, users on dock.io should be able to verify each others’ on-chain data in a manner similar to employees confirming each others’ work experience.

Different applications may choose the extent of their verification requirements. The options that will likely be available on dock.io are: Loose verification — data from the user is sufficient on its own; Mid-Level verification — additional verification from the data source is required; Strong verification — on-chain signing of the information provided by the user is required.

The token, DOCK, is supposed to be used in rewarding data providers — platforms that give users permission to move their data to dock.io. If a platform wants to access user data that was provided by another platform, the former will pay a fee to the latter using DOCK tokens. Now, if a third-party wants to access the data from the “former”, they will pay a fee, also in DOCK; however, to ensure that the total supply of DOCK is constantly reducing, the DOCK tokens in this transaction will be burned.

Remote is expected to be the first platform that will integrate dock.io, and they already have a working product.

Partnerships update: progress on integration and state of current partnerships

Progress on integration
Past few days have been spent finalizing compliance and approvals for card process and IBAN integration (Integrator #1), meaning that as of this week if all goes according to plan most of the admin and compliance checks should have been completed. We will still need to work together with the integrator on coordinating how processor fees will be structured — however this should be a more dynamic process.

We started off working with 4 options — one (integrator #4) which fell of at the start due to lower appetite in terms of risk exposure and another one (integrator#3) was somewhat left in limbo while their compliance was designing new guidelines for working with companies in our sector. This later option has finalized its process and it looks like it will be hard to move ahead with them — however it was the case that a majority of players in the market was working with them so we’re glad that we had contingencies and started with 4 options.

With options #3 and #4 out of the picture and #1 moving along nicely you are probably wondering what’s happening with #2 — on this side as you might remember last week we submitted some new and innovative schematics to credit card company which are still currently being reviewed — however early feedback is positive — last thing that needs to be done here is monetary related negotiations.

In the mean time, we have also spoken and assessed 3 other potential integrators, one of which we might bring in as a further contingency.
We also had the chance to attend a hackathon at one of the major banks in Estonia and got some very interesting contacts.

State of Current Partnerships
We have seen a couple of questions in the chat regarding to what is the current status of announced partnerships so we’re happy to address that. We have decided to move in the direction of partnering with companies such as Mothership, Kyber, ETHLend, Zilla as well as Smartly, Bitof Property and Indorse — because we saw synergies between our products, however, we are all at the start of the journey as as you have seen everyone is focusing on building their core products at their own pace. Right now the partnerships are at a starting stage where we focus information and knowledge sharing to better understand how everyone is navigating the space and building relationships.

The next step will take place once partner’s respective product has reached a degree of maturity so we can actually integrate and as you might have noticed there has been impressive progress so far — everyone is excelling in their particular expertise. You will notice that we have not been pushing too aggressively on adding new partners despite receiving constant contacts from other parties, this has been so we can keep focusing on our current commitments — deliver on these and then expand.

E-Residency Goals
E-Residency can be considered one of the most impressive achievements in the context of digital identity and it is surely paving the way for other countries to take a global approach on the topic of doing business and enabling a generation of digital nomads. Since the inception of Change we have had close contact and have worked to support each others vision. We do plan on executing more aggressively with E-Residency in the future and this will be done in a much more formal and direct manner than it has been done up to now.

With Change scaling we do envision E-Residency allowing global residents to access a series of Change services that for whatever reason might be restricted to Europe, an example you might have seen and real problem can be the fact that some cards companies only allow card issuance to the residents of a particular country and you are restricted from ordering such country if you are let’s say from outside the EU.
