Can you elaborate what exactly it is your talking about?

My take of it is that he wants to buy My Little Pony videos with BTC. Smiley

You should have seen the post that was their before he was talking about ponies. Its was like 3 paragraphs long of why my cute website will fail or something that then he changed it. I think hes trolling or he posted in the wrong thread by accidident either way i was still like "wtf mate"

Yeah, I saw it too. You should have quoted the text in your reply. I was like "wtf" too.

For those who didn't see the comment, it basically said this website was pointless because it only adds one item at a time, what the community really needs is a middle-man add-on where you can just spend bitcoins wherever a credit card can be used. Then he kinda implied he is working on one and will announce it soon.

While that kind of service could be useful, the addition of pre-paid debit cards at CheaperInBitcoin also fulfils that roll, and there is plenty of room in the bitcoin ecosystem for both types of services (selling items for bitcoin, and converting bitcoin to dollars).
Your so right peter
I knew I should have quoted it, it was really ridicules to be repeated but you did a good job at helping me understand exactly what he ment. Tongue Darn kids!!!
We should have a DNA scanning system integrated for Bitcoin, only 20+ year old people are allowed to use it Tongue

Thinking out of the box here a little bit...

A sweet phone app would be to have a Bitcoin wallet tied to your debit-card. The app would show your balance in BTC and in $.

When you want to spend BTC you use the app to send a payment. If you want to pay in cash you transfer some money to the card and pay with the card.

Of course, ideally the best thing would be if you could go from cash on the card to BTC.

I'm already working on something similar already I just need cash flow.

It's gone because it was meant for your eyes only. You're doing it wrong.

This is under the assumption that I want to do your Firefox/chrome plug-in thing... some people don't like downloading things because it is one more thing they must learn.
viruses... spy ware.. How does anybody know that your firefox chrome plug-in isn't swiping .00001 of a cent by rounding?

anyways I always wanted to open up my own store and I think I found a good niche! Once I get more funding I can have a bigger niche just like amazon... all in good time my friends....

1809  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRetail | 1-2-3 setup for your very own bitcoin store on: October 13, 2011, 06:52:08 PM
Is it necessary to reinvent the wheel and have everyone learn Golang? I think a more commonly known language(such as PHP)thatt can be set up on any VPS/Cloud with little knowledge should be preferable. As with PHP I could help assist in writing a lot of code as well instead of waiting for everyone to learn Golang to get the project started. I'm open to hear why you think this is a good choice for everyone?

1811  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRetail | 1-2-3 setup for your very own bitcoin store on: October 13, 2011, 06:08:11 PM
This is what I've been looking for:

1. Something that ties in with an existing shopping plugin, i.e. ecommerce for wordpress, or Open Cart. For this stuff to take off it has to be as easy to implement as Wordpress.
2. Ability to list prices as bitcoin or USD.
3. Live updating of price in bitcoin.
4. Notification that ties orders to payments so I know who is paying for what.

I'm really eager to implement bitcoin within my own humble web-store, and I'd like to start convincing other artists to do so as well, but the current tools out there aren't user friendly enough. I've looked at bitwallet, bitwillet, bitpay and others. They are all getting close, but nothing is as plug and play as it needs to be.

Best of luck with the project.

Excellent suggestions I will add these to the github wiki. Thanks Cheesy
1812  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Go daddy gift cards for only 0.5BTC per card on: October 13, 2011, 05:45:23 PM
Basically you pay 0.5 BTC for my services of loading the card and sending it... but you give me the amount you want loaded on to it. I have created a screen shot that illistrates where you should type in the value for how much the card should be loaded. I made everything super simple as far as check out goes.
The minimum amount you can store on a godaddy gift card is $2 so you can see that the Cheaper In Bitcoins product page automatically fills in the lowest minimum which is 0.5BTC in this case of the below screen shot.

Here is what it will look like in your cart if you put a value of 7 BTC on your godaddy card.

1813  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Go daddy gift cards for only 0.5BTC per card on: October 13, 2011, 05:40:48 PM
Correct I guess I did forget those details. You can read my Terms of service which says
Quote
9. Gift Card services

Buyer agrees that upon purchasing a giftcard and/or debit card(including any other digital or non-digital card(s) that stores a monetary or bartering value) the amount of United States Dollars(USD) will vary as the Bitcoin to USD value change exponentially and agrees that Cheaper In Bitcoins may use the best available exchange rate when loading such cards.

Basically I just go on bitcoinwatch.com and do a quick scan for the lowest price and then convert your BTC's to USD for the money to be loaded on to the godaddy card
1814  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cheaper In Bitcoins is now selling Reloadable Debit-Card services. on: October 13, 2011, 04:52:32 PM
So I talked to McAfee and what they had to offer with their services and it sounds like great news but the price might be a little too steep for right now.

*Basically they test over 10,000 security vulnerabilities.

*If after 3 days the vulnerability(s) are not fixed the (McAfee Secured) image will disappear.

*McAfee secured has been shown to improve bounce rates(Meaning people wont even bother looking at your store with out some kind of security checks) so that could be increased sales and page views

*McAfee secured shows up in over 19 different search engines.

*Any security vulnerabilities I will get a report saying how to fix the vulnerabilities.

------------------------------------------------- Their pricing------------------------------------------------
Base pricing allows you to scan and certify your site with up to 6,000 average daily page views:

1 year $2,017.00

2 year $2,976.00 Special Promotion: 25% off

3 year $3,934.00 Special Promotion: 33.33% off **BEST VALUE**
1815  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cheaper In Bitcoins is now selling Reloadable Debit-Card services. on: October 13, 2011, 04:44:07 PM
So...you get a reloadable debit-card...do you load it with Bitcoins?

You got it mate!

Just go to the product page and type in the value you want in the additional options section then click check out your price will be auto calculated and the value will be put on the card will be the best available value from multiple exchanges.

Why not build a eBay using BTC ?
Aution sites are just as good as retail websites I don't see why we can't have some kind of module or plugin to make the application auction friendly.
This gets me thinking that we need a page were we can recap all the features and/or ideas. I think I'll just the git hub page

or were you asking me why don't "I" xenland make an auction site that support merchants?
1819  Bitcoin / Project Development / relodable debit card services on: October 13, 2011, 02:03:27 PM
Looks like everything is working and tested, You may now purchase a debit card that can be used anywhere mastercard is accepted. Its only 0.5BTC per card(includes loading) and its only 0.5BTC per reload alone.

Also about the conversion rate questions I forgot to mention the terms of service that talks about this: http://cheaperinbitcoins.com/tos

it says...
