1801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LIGHTHOUSE - Bitcoin-Powered Crowdfunding App Has Launched! on: January 20, 2015, 03:09:28 PM
Looks interesting. Let's hope that due to the opensource nature, we don't see crowdfunding scams pop up.
1802  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which Exchange to Check the Price? on: January 20, 2015, 03:08:07 PM
I've been following bitfinex lately when I am watching the price.
1803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I Missing Something, Why Make Receiving Bitcoins Difficult? on: January 20, 2015, 03:07:24 PM
I think blockchain.info is one of the easiest ways to receive. It is a simple sign up for new users and easy way to get into BTC.
1804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road is Back on: January 20, 2015, 03:05:41 PM
SR Reloaded is already infiltrated by the agency. I would call it a "Drug Dealers Honeypot" rather than a "Free Market".

Yeah I wouldn't doubt that it might be a honeypot. Interesting to see how this will affect BTC price though.
1805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Washington Post Revealed: a Ponzi Scheme for centralizing wealth - BitcoinTalk on: January 19, 2015, 07:01:16 PM
Accusing a newspaper of being a ponzi scheme? That makes no sense.

It requires people to keep investing their money for it to continue. Jeff Bezos could take all of that money and they would be left with nothing, even if they paid for a yearly subscription.

That is more of the definition of a Ponzi than Bitcoin which would require every user to sell their bitcoins (to people willing to buy them), or however they figure Bitcoin is a Ponzi.

Yeah, I can see how people would need to keep putting money into it for it to be profitable and to continue. Although, this isn't the same thing as a ponzi scheme which promises return on investment to the investors. But I see the angle you are coming from on it.
1806  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: January 19, 2015, 06:56:45 PM
I'm glad to see that 'Provably fair distribution of game crashes' got implemented. It's been awhile since I've been on MoneyPot, but I will have to come check it out again to see the new changes.
1807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MoneyPot.com Provably Fair Seeding Event on: January 19, 2015, 06:55:52 PM
Wow, it is nice to see that this got implemented.
1808  Economy / Gambling / Re: It's been a very profitable day today! on: January 19, 2015, 06:47:00 PM
Very nice profits indeed! Keep up the good work Cheesy

Accusing a newspaper of being a ponzi scheme? That makes no sense.
1811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin friendly banks? on: January 19, 2015, 06:39:29 PM
I found the thread discussing the list of banks here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264679.0

It is probably more likely that high volumes of money being transferred in and out will set off red flags rather than anything specific to bitcoin.
1812  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex Is This The Owner? on: January 19, 2015, 06:34:56 PM
I say judge the business on how it runs rather than who runs it.

1814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Karpeles the real DPR? on: January 16, 2015, 08:51:56 PM
Interesting development. I'm curious to see how this case will progress.
1815  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT ★ +28k BTC wagered ★ Huge New Year's Rakeback :) on: January 16, 2015, 08:45:41 PM
Wow. Almost to 1 million bets? Lots of bets so that will be a nice achievement Smiley
1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fake transactions in the exchanges again? Don't trust your eyes... on: January 14, 2015, 05:10:49 PM
Could someone explain to me how, technically, and exchange coud manipulate the prices by putting fake orders?
I can see how to fake the volume, but the price...

I could buy into that possibility.  I heard speculation that it might be due in part to Bitstamp trying to rebuy cheap coins to compensate for the stolen money owed?  If true, that could account for the sharp 24 hour decline, but still does not detract from the fact that it's been a half year bear market.   But certainly a possibility.

Even if Bitstamp finds a way to manipulate the price on their exchnage, how would they manipulate it elsewhere?

Arbitrage would balance out the other exchanges I'm sure if this were the case. Though, I am not sure this is actually going on at Bitstamp.
1817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still KING on: January 14, 2015, 05:02:09 PM
Mining is nowhere near profitable at this level. Unless the difficulty dropped dramatically.
1818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason for the decline on: January 14, 2015, 04:59:50 PM
Interesting thought. I hadn't heard this theory yet. Gonna read up on this news and see what I think.
1819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash! Down from $200 to $161 in two minutes on: January 14, 2015, 01:43:14 PM
If this hasn't been the real bottom, we'll see it tomorrow or the day after that. Things are moving very very fast now. It seems that we are finally trying to locate the real bottom. Can't stand the whole bleeding out anymore!

Yeah this bleeding is frustrating.
1820  Economy / Speculation / Re: is anyone else as stupid as me to still hodl? on: January 13, 2015, 06:06:14 PM
Holding as well but don't like watching the graphs of BTC price in these last weeks.
