18001  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gunbot trading bot on: April 06, 2017, 04:23:07 AM
using a bot is not the only way of making money and it certainly is not an easy or guaranteed way of making profit while trading.
in my opinion if you have no trading experience then buying a bot is throwing your money out the window.

and besides in trading you can always do things manually, take a position and spread your buy orders, then decide on a profit and start putting up some sell orders. if your speculation of the market is good enough you will make money easily like this. and if not no amount of bot will help you.
18002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 06, 2017, 04:20:00 AM
^^ looks like someone is very happy with himself Wink

anyways all this is good in my opinion, litecoin being the copy of bitcoin and being the biggest altcoin out there and also oldest means the activation of SegWit on it can really change many perspectives. and eventually maybe we can see some changes over here too.

i'll try to enjoy the ride for now Smiley
18003  Economy / Speculation / Re: Say bye to Triple Digits on: April 06, 2017, 04:12:22 AM
people always realize these things when it is too late. you can see already so many people who are caught up in the altcoin bullshit and the tactics they use to pump their coin and think what the "advertising team" says is true and they are really replacing bitcoin and meanwhile the price of each of those shitcoins is still dropping continuously while these people still hold their bags of altcoin until they give up and dump at a much lower price with a huge loss.
18004  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Questions from a newbie - Thanks for your patience on: April 06, 2017, 04:02:11 AM
.
Sorry once again but you mention 13 words but I have only 12.
Will this cause any problems while resurrecting my wallet from scratch?

Thanks a ton friends, as I have said, a complete newbie here Smiley

if you have generated that seed with Electrum wallet then you are OK.

the number of words has changed at least once before (if i recall correctly the older versions made a 13 word seed and new version create 12 words) checked with my 2.8.1 and it is 12 words.

and even if you have generated the 13 word seed with old version you can still use that in the new version, electrum automatically figures it out and recovers your private keys.
18005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play with your profit or not? on: April 05, 2017, 05:28:12 AM

what i do is that i take my capital and play with my profit.

why i take my capital? so that when i'll be unfortune for more games and rolls then i lost it, atleast i did not lost anything because i have taken back my capital. i usually quit when that happens merely because im not letting my emotions to take over me. i may have lost but atleast i havent lost any, cause i still have my capital though.
But thats not the case anytime on which everytime you play you can able to secure your capital since we wont know if we gain profits or not on playing directly on time. What if you lose in the first game then how will you secure your profits?Instead you will surely decide to deposit to chase those lose which most gamblers do.

i don't think that's what he meant. the best way to do is that for example you deposit 1BTC and make some bets and make a little bit of profit. then from that time forward you only make bets with that profit but keep the initial deposit intact. that way if you make profit, that would be profit of profit and if you lose you still have your initial deposit.
18006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your game and why? on: April 05, 2017, 05:18:01 AM
Poker is more enjoyable game of all the time it's need to think more than people think you need to become mind stronger here to know what will be the next move of your opponent being bluff is the best one but sometimes we got lose for being assh*ole anyway hahaha But sometimes i like playing dice game when i need a fast game only.

i agree with Poker, it is such a good game to play since it is both has the fun of gambling and also requires some skills and some work on your part to win. but the only thing wrong with Poker is that you can not play it other than face to face. which means all the online gambling sites offering this game are bad. mostly because you don't see the opponent and get the expressions but also because you can never trust them and there is no way of proving they are trustable or not.
18007  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is coinbase really a bad website to make a wallet on? on: April 05, 2017, 05:12:20 AM
I think no because coinbase is one of the top and most popular wallet aside from blockchain.info. Sometimes there are really errors could happen but the important is they can fix it immediately, we don't know if it is fault of the system or the user. You can trust them because they verify your Identification.
Coinbase is very strict in terms about where the transaction comes for. If from gambling sites highly chances, Coinbase would froze your account and lock your funds because illegal things. Coinbase is an exchanges, so it not safe to store your money to exchanges and especially for large balances.
Eh, don't say that coinbase is unuseful wallet, they are us based exchangers and they have good security, it's not like that. I agree you that they are very strict and that makes sense that coinbase isn't for simple users, it's mostly for serious people in trading and for them, which are using bitcoin for serious actions, coinbase is different and their main goal isn't anonimity of users.

i feel like you are saying it in reverse!
coinbase is best for "simple users" aka newbies who want to start with bitcoin but prefer something similar to paypal where they create an account and put all their trust in a third party (many average Joes are like this!)
but it is not good for others such as those who want the decentralization of bitcoin or those who are traders. for trading other exchanges are better and cost less.
18008  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Manipulations on: April 05, 2017, 05:08:01 AM
it is mostly someone day-trading. which means they buy in the dips and sell after a rise. in that case you see dumps like that happen. and when the market is small with small orders selling one batch will fill multiple orders and price goes down 2-3 steps.

seeing the past 7 days of AMP charts the trades go like this:
you buy at 6800-6900 sat and sell on 7500-7800 (13-14% profit)
then buy back at 7100 sat and sell again at 7800-8100 (13-14% profit again)
...
and so on.
18009  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin prices go to the moon? on: April 05, 2017, 04:59:10 AM
As long as the yearly performance is better than most other investments and currencies, I am not one to complain. Over 20% a year increase is very small for bitcoin, but already a big one for any other kind of investment. That is a testament to how well bitcoin has performed over the past few years and I hope this long term uptrend can be continued and sustained.

i think you missed a "1" in your number because 20% rise in a year is way too small for bitcoin. the price has been rising over 100% each year from the early days (expect from the period when MtGox cancer hit the market hard). you can see price rising from for example $0.1 to $1 then about $2 to $20 and so on until the 2015 from $200 to $450 and the 2016 from $450 to $1000
and after 8 years of performing well, i can't see the rise suddenly drop from 100%-200% to 20% in a year!!!
18010  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of BTC - up about 150% in the past 12 months. Reasons? on: April 05, 2017, 04:55:05 AM
~
Id vote for combination of the above. It is also worth noting, that we finally bottomed out about year ago from bear market that lasted three years (!), recovery was only overdue in that regard.

I believe rising trend will continue this and the next year with large bumps alond the road. We will see 3000 eventually atleast before bear market resumes in its full strength.

that three years (?) was the harm that MtGox did to bitcoin and the bubble took a long time to go away and price recover from that big manipulation and the scam they pulled in the end.
the "rising trend" however will continue as long as bitcoin is being adopted more. it has not ended and it will not end in 1 year.
18011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Features Are Still True? on: April 05, 2017, 04:46:38 AM
you need to start using bitcoin to understand what features bitcoin has or doesn't have.
others saying stuff here are not going to change anything for you and what you perceive of bitcoin. try finding something online you want and buy it with bitcoin, or make a payment or something then you realize what features bitcoin still has.
18012  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Questions from a newbie - Thanks for your patience on: April 05, 2017, 04:38:42 AM
2 things to add:
1. learn what a cold storage is and create it properly.
general idea: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Cold_storage
how to do it with Electrum: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/coldstorage.html

2. test it before sending funds to it. it means install the wallet (preferably as a cold storage on a separate offline system), write down the seed. then try restoring the wallet with the seed and see what happens. play around a little while the wallet is empty, you can even test with 0.0001BTC by sending it to the wallet and out of it to figure out how everything works

then when you made sure transfer 1000BTC to it Smiley
18013  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best trading exchange for privacy? on: April 04, 2017, 07:51:05 AM
the best cryptocurrency exchange service for privacy have always been btc-e.com since they are fully anonymous and have never asked for any kind of ID. but the problem is that their price is usually different from other places and also they don't have that many altcoins.

i also say try bittrex.com for altcoin trading.

i have also heard kraken is a pretty good place and it seems not to ask for many ID, but you need to check it yourself to make sure.
18014  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country are you from? Here list THIRTY popular bitcoin countries for trade on: April 04, 2017, 07:46:23 AM
correct me if i am wrong but what i am seeing this list seems more like a random list of country names without any sorting. in which case i say why give them numbers in the first place!

the list also lacks Japan by the way.
18015  Economy / Speculation / Re: Almost 1,100 on: April 04, 2017, 07:41:10 AM
bitcoin prices currently quite far from the price of $ 1100, bitcoin prices of materials allows for up to a price of $ 1200. maybe it could be summed up in a few days, but I just wish the bitcoin prices will not drop below $ 1100 again.

it is not far at all it is ~$1140 and it is fluctuating still. quite far means $1500 which is not yet reached. but i believe the drop is now over, specially with the altcoin market slowly sinking down and all the big pumped coins are not experiencing their bubbles burst, all the money comes back to bitcoin creating some rise.
18016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays? on: April 04, 2017, 07:36:41 AM
On this post I saw a number of people who are saying that signature campaign is the best source of bitcoin but I am new comer and cannot join any signature campaign that is why for me signature campaign is not a best source of bitcoin while I am spending a good time in faucet and from there I am earning some bitcoins.

Yes I also say siganture campaign is one of the best source of bitcoin now a days. Just wait until your rank become member or full member because the payout of that rank is good. You must maintain your post in good quality so if you apply in signature campaign you accept . I dont like faucet because you cannot get good payout by doing it. Unless you have thousands of active referrals thats work for you.

I have never managed to make a one working referral, let alone thousands, so I agree with you, faucets bring almost nothing. I think mining is a pretty good source of BTC but you have to invest over $1,000 first which not many can afford. So, yes, for the people who don't have over $1k to invest, sig campaigns are among the best sources o Bitcoin today. Another good source is when you ask to pay you in BTC for the job you've done,  worked for me twice so far.

"It didn't work for me, pretty sure it's not working out for everybody else." How about no? I'm sure that if you put enough effort on finding referrals, you will get active referrals. Simply knowing a friend that's interested in bitcoins gives you one potential active referral. If you don't have someone who's interested in bitcoins, then make them. Talk about bitcoins to them and tell them how much you've made so far.

You don't just post your referral link on Facebook and then expect someone to join you. It doesn't work that way. Others make blog about bitcoin just to get referrals. It's on you how are you going to make people sign up under you.
You can get referral by sharing on facebook or other social sites???if yes !but still its better to claim from faucets than waste your time on sharing your link on facebook for the referral because almost every one have already claimed the faucets which you are sharing.

For mining its need good knowledge of bitcoin or cryptocurrency and other things to start And if you have enough capital to start mining.

Or you can try as freelancer if you have some specific skills.
Mining now a days, especially in bitcoin is not a good idea because the mining difficulty is high and as you said, it needs enough or big amount of capital in order to start mining and also it is expensive since you will do maintenance and you will pay a lot of money for the electricity bill and you need also some sort of knowledge about the computer because you will do some programming to make your mining rigs working.
yeah I agree. mining Bitcoin is not profitable anymore and if you continue to stick to it, you will soon die in debt. Diff keeps increasing and there is no way to stop it. More and more people have changed their mind and start mining altcoin and use them to exchange to bitcoin. If you like that idea, you can try and I believe you can earn a good amount of money
Only difference is that bitcoin mining equipment have got increased investment compared to the altcoins mining. Possibly we cannot say that bitcoin Mining is not profitable and altcoins mining is profitable, because daily several altcoins are getting generated and vanishing.

it is all about the difficulty, him saying bitcoin mining is not profitable shows he doesn't know anything about it at all. if it wasn't profitable the hashrate wouldn't have grown every now and then.

the difference with altcoin mining however as i said is the difficulty. you can still mine many of the altcoins, specially the new ones with simple hardware at home such as your CPU or GPU mostly or even if you invest in a miner with a small amount.
18017  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss? on: April 04, 2017, 07:13:08 AM
So in trading how do you deal with loss? For example you've invested in an alt and now it has fallen quite hard and you're on the brink of losing all your bitcoin you invested in it.
How do you actually deal with it? Do you wait and keep on waiting in hope that it will bounce back up and return your investment or you sell and get whatever left of your investment?

prevention is always better than cure!

i prevent any kind of loss in trading:
- by getting in early not after the pump.
- by setting up some stop loss so that i can get out in case price went down (i never wait and hope that is childish)
- by getting out after i reach a decent amount of profit. (i never wait for 10000000% profit! i get some decent amount from 5% to 1000% depending on the situation and the altcoin and get out). waiting around means losing money in altcoins.
- by investing in bitcoin for long term and never caring about its short term fluctuations Smiley

and in case i lose money in trading altcoins, i just analyze my mistakes and try not to repeat them next time.
18018  Economy / Speculation / Re: People selling alts to go back in BTC on: April 04, 2017, 07:08:24 AM
There doesn't really seem to be any reason why people suddenly reinvest in bitcoin because nothing really happened to bitcoin recently.

Yeah the price is recovering a bit, but the fundamentals are still shaky so it's all hot air.

only weak hands got out and there is a reason for them coming back and that is the price itself, the panic sell and then panic buy.
and also there is nothing shaky about the fundamentals, at least i don't see anything anyways!
18019  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Illegal character 0 at position X on: April 04, 2017, 07:03:10 AM
the Electrum documents have very good information which is going to be useful if you read it when you get some time.

1. yes you can. remember the order is important and double check to make sure you have written it correctly.
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#what-is-the-seed

2. no you cannot cancel a transaction. you could have marked them as replaceable before making them so that you could increase the fee in case it was needed. http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#my-transaction-has-been-unconfirmed-for-a-long-time-what-can-i-do
right now you have to wait for them to confirm or wait so that network "forgets" about them (tx dropping out of mempool).
you can also use viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to accelerate it.
