I got the chromebooks as a gift from a job I used to have.
I have had three successful trades so far on here, I can be trusted
Post links to the threads. You had a job?

Ahahaha xD no their isnt child labor. And its all computer equipment, no people working there really.
Then answer this question: why does she want PayPal in an in person face-to-face transfer of BTC to cash?

good sob story.
I disagree. I have seen much better.

It was fun while it lasted but now that the thread has been moved to lending I am out of here.
Thrash away lending sub-forum gate keepers.
One last comment before I go: why would anyone lend any money to someone who 1) does not have a job, 2) got their eBay account closed, 3) opened a second eBay account and a second PayPal account, 4) does not have a license 5) has no friends or family willing to lend them money (burned all those bridges already we assume), 6) can't seem to get out of the house in order to find a pawn shop (if you are not motivated enough to do that how the hell are you going to ever get a job) 7) with all that somehow manages to "own" 23 chromebooks?
Dood, would you lend money to yourself with that story?

Have you visited the mine? Also, can you please tell us about how many people work at the mine?
It is also very important to me that no child labor is used in the mine. Can you please verify that for me. Thanks.

You did not answer all of my questions (how converting the BTC to cash, how converting the PayPal to BTC, etc.)
Also, I thought you said your eBay account was closed? How are you going to sell your stuff on eBay since it is closed?
Oh, I understand now, you have two eBay accounts, right? The old closed one and the brand new one. Won't eBay find out you have two accounts? Isn't that against their TOS? Won't they just close your second account also?
|
|
|
Yeah, eBay puts a hold on all the funds you get from selling stuff from a new account ):
I guess I would have to sell the bitcoin, and then sell things and wait for eBay to give me the money to buy more bitcoin to pay you back
You will need to give me definite time frames for each step.
|
|
|
Since you have no job and your eBay account is closed how do you expect to sell your stuff and get the money to pay me back?
Also, given that you have in fact figured out a way to sell your stuff, wouldn't it be much easier to just sell your stuff and get the money?
Borrowing BTC means you would then have to sell the BTC to get the cash you need, right? How do you plan to convert the BTC lent to you into cash for spending?
Once you sell your stuff then you would have to convert the cash gained back into BTC to pay me back. How do you plan to to that?

How the heck is anyone not obsessed with computers supposed to do this? You wait 1-3 years, when everything will be far more user-friendly. Why wait 1-3 years? Use a deterministic wallet and then you never have to back it up. I suggest the Trezor hardware deterministic wallet. If you don't want to shell out the $119 bucks for the hardware wallet then pick one of the other software deterministic wallets and all you have to do is make copies of the seed and keep them secure, safe and secret. Backup issue solved.

Have mixed hundreds of coins at a time, got back every single BTC (minus the fees, of course).
The only thing I can suggest is to contact their support email address. I contacted them through their email for an issue not related to lost coins (since they have never lost any of my coins) and got a response within 48 hours. Do you have a copy of the gaurantee letter to send to them?
Maybe there was an issue with the 2 hour delay? Even if you do not have the gaurantee letter you just need their address, the one that you sent BTC in to and your address, the address you wanted them to be sent back to when done. With those two addresses they should be able to track down what happened and fix it. You might also send them the fee amount as that might also help them track it down.

Back in the day the first time I participated in a thread on this same idea (2011) a guy was printing paper Bitcoin checks with Ron Pauls image on them. I thought they were cool so I bought a bunch. They are probably collectors items now! The idea of the Bitcoin check is simple: it is just a piece of paper with the public key printed on it an the private key printed on it but covered by a sticker. You write the amount on the check, fund the public address, and spend it. Then when it comes time to redeem they carefully take off the sticker and sweep the private key. However, as many have pointed out this is not needed. Instead, just use Bitcoin the way it was designed to be used: transfer the BTC, done. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53360.0

I couldn't disagree more about the "bits" thing. How does introducing another named unit at an arbitrary decimal point make things simpler or easier? Especially with a name like "bits" which can refer to a bunch of confusingly related topics: data storage, information, cryptography.
If you are confused by the simple idea of using "bits" as a shorthand for microBitcoins then you must be totally confounded by all the following terms (in order so as not to confuse you too much): penny, cents, nickel, dime, bit, quarter, buck, a nickel bag, a dime bag, a Jackson and a Benjamin. I am sorry if the previous sentence left you drooling on the floor in total mind numbing confusion.

Cost of mining is now close to 600$.
You must not be very good at mining then. I don't mine but I have buddies who do. If your cost of mining is $600/BTC you might as well hang it up now because other, much smarter, people have figured out ways to mine at a much lower cost of production than you. You are really losing $100 per bitcoin you mine? That is like beating your head against a wall. Stop that.

Is there something going on with mytrezor.com? I cannot access my balance, it just gets stuck in "Loading..." with those three bars. I've already reinstalled the plugin and tried different browsers.
I'm having the same issue... A resolution as soon as possible would be appreciated. Yes it is down. I reported it to them through their support email address: support@bitcointrezor.comThey do not hang out here that much so if you ever have problems use their support email address. (but they probably already know it is down)

What is the significance of 2114? End of the world in your calendar system?
I think he tried to say 2140, i.e. when the last Bitcoin will be mined. Ahh yes. Still not significant because, assuming Bitcoin is still around, there will still be miners and there will still be mining after 2140. In fact, for the system to survive, transaction fees must start to "take over" paying the miners way before that. The miners should be making more from transaction fees than from the block subsidy probably some time in 2033 or so. By the time 2140 rolls around and the subsidy is only 0.00000001 BTC the subsidy will have to be insignificant to the fees.

I think it doesn't sound like a different coin and it won't confuse a lot of people, if we know the formula 0.000 000 01 BTC = 1 satoshi 0.000 001 00 BTC = 100 satoshi = 1 uBTC 0.001 000 00 BTC = 100k satoshi = 1 mBTC 1.000 000 00 BTC = 100M satoshi = 1 BTC maybe you can check this website : http://bitblah.com/hopefully you can satisfied with this formula ... Is it me or is this much easier to read and digest if laid out like this? 0.00 000 001 BTC = 1 satoshi 0.00 000 100 BTC = 100 satoshi = 1 uBTC 0.00 100 000 BTC = 100k satoshi = 1 mBTC 1.00 000 000 BTC = 100M satoshi = 1 BTC Never seen that before but it sure looks cool, makes sense, easy to read, you should start the process to make it an international standard!

1) Stop mining. 2) Go to localbitcoins.com, enter your location. 3) Pick a reputable seller near you. 4) Arrange to meet them in a public place. 5) Pay them cash for the BTC.
So everyone new gets told to stop mining. You think the people mining now will mine until 2114? Did you read the thread? It will take him over 10 years to make that amount of BTC at the current difficulty. Factor in rising difficulty and it will take forever and a day and waste more in electricity than I care to calculate. I told him to stop mining because it is the right thing to do. What is the significance of 2114? End of the world in your calendar system?

If you have or intend to have a lot of BTC then check out the Trezor hardware wallet, $119.
