Google Authenticator, but only because it's the only I have used.
Are there any other ones that are actually better?

there is, authy is pretty good, if you are poor and can't get even a economic smartphone and you are stuck with old standard phone, also i like the sms code, it's easy and fast

Authy is much less secure than most of the others and you are dependant on the Authy service. If anything happens to the Authy service you are SOL.

Google authenticator (and every other app that implements TOTP) isn't dependant on anything, it's stand-alone so even if Google were to disappear your app will continue working fine, with Authy you'd be fucked.

Also Authy has the ability to bypass 2FA on any of your accounts, so if there is a rogue employee or they are hacked then it could lead to many people being hacked.

And there are privacy issues as Authy knows when you are logging in, what websites you are logging into, what other Authy-enabled websites you use and your phone number and your IP. You also must disclose your phone number to them to use the service.

well i didn't know that authy come with all those problems, good to know i guess, the problem with GA is that it can't be used without a proper device, the pc version also is less secure than the standard one with a smartphone

when microsft started accepting bitcoin, i recall that the price went down(the famous drop under 200), the same for other major companies(dell, newegg ecc...)
I is really funny that when we have some really awesome bitcoin news: like you mention Microsoft acceptance, big hardware online store acceptance or something like that price of bitcoin is not rising at all, and as I recall in these cases it event went down a bit. But from the other side when we can even SLIGHTLY disturbing news: like when that ultra tiny chinese altcoin exchange got hacked last month or so, price of bitcoin went down momentarily. What a pessimistic bunch we are...
You guys do realize that those companies do not hold Bitcoin? The more sales they have the worse it is. They instantly just convert to fiat. That's one of the problems of today.
Although you're right. People here tend to be pessimistic and panic often which hurts the price.
The real question is can we change anything about it?

if they sell someone must buy, the problem aren't those big companies selling like mad, but the buyers which are lowering their walls, and the fact that there are few strong buyers out there, the rest are just scared newbies
18204  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Make bitcoin with browser. on: April 05, 2015, 05:12:11 PM
i will use if its be profitable

it is profitable, because it's free you know.... the problem maybe is that  the payment could be really low like faucets

if payments aren't like faucets it could be interesting, otherwise the usual waste of time
How it can be a waste of time?It is just like normal browsing, watching youtube, reading  posts on bitcointalk but you will get paid.

waste of time in the sense that, will not be worth it to surf more(more than what you surf every day) if the payment is too low, on the other hand if the pricce is good, i would surf more just for that
18205  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 week target $160 on: April 05, 2015, 03:49:23 PM
Then wouldn't that mean that so-called bad news is good news? If a major hack or something happens, should we call it good news from now on?

it seems that good news is resulting in a bad price and bad news is resulting in nothing, basically we can only go down, and go up only thanks to whales's manipulation

Good news seems to drive the price down faster than bad news.
Can you give any example of 'good news' that drive the price down quickly? I am very curious.

18206  Economy / Speculation / Re: Humans aren't rational. Bitcoin won't be a % of world economy, but a multiple. on: April 05, 2015, 03:44:59 PM
why are people so worried about early adopters dumping their coins? lets say every early adopter dumps their coins and drives bitcoin down to 1$ a coin. Why is this a bad thing? for me this would be awesome because I would buy tons of them. I think many people feel the same way. So go ahead and dump early adopters.
Simple. going back to $1, there is no guarantee the price will ever rebound again. That would probably mean end of Bitcoin experiment.

that's not possible, because many early adopters bought at that price, they aren't so dumb to dump at the same price of which they bought their coins at

1-5-10... those are just stupid value, they will never happen as a consguence of early adopters dumping

18208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Requirements on: April 05, 2015, 02:14:06 PM
you don't need a powerful computer, but a powerful miner, mining with cpu is useless

but in the end casual mining it's not recommended, and if you really want to make profit you need to invest many money in a big farm

that server could be good for establishing a pool though
18209  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: fund BIT-X account with credit card on: April 05, 2015, 02:09:21 PM
Is credit card deposit instant? If not, how long does it take? Are Bitcoin withdrawals processed immediately like btc-e does?

credit card deposit should be instant, as for bitcoin withdrawals, they are very fast too, tried several times, everything went smoothly in 5 mins
18210  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mining Contracts on: April 05, 2015, 02:02:01 PM
Looking for a trustworthy site that offers mining contracts that are profitable. Let me know what you use!

Thanks!

Well I think those sites that were offering mining contracts are already turned out to be a ponzi schemes.
If you want a cloudmining try Bit-x but take note you will have a long time for a ROI.
Why are you recommending bit-x? That isn't the best one as I think. Try some long-lasting sites, like cex.io. They are online for about a year I think. Also they have records of which block they exactly mined, not like some other sites (like bit-x).

i wouldn't recommend any to be honest, they are not profitable at all, they are a bit like gambling, because you need to sell your contract to take profit at the end, otherwise you will never see roi

cex.io it seems the best though at rate of 0.7 btc for one TH/s, but that maintenance fee is killing it...
18211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC legislation, is it really that bad? on: April 05, 2015, 12:42:16 PM
security is a big problem right now, it culd help if government can support bitcoin in this side, but not at the cost of having a centralized system, i want bitcoin to remain free

there was a topic where i suggested a 2fa to be added directly in the client, a sort of login information that pup up when you launch the client, and it ask you for a code after you enter login and pass, like an exchange

this would add a better security against wallet stealer, especially with hot wallet, which seems to be used by many newbies

I m not talking about security. I am talking about investment options and projects. Cause we re way past the time where people would buy BTC, hoard it and wait for the price to go up. I m talking about what do you do with you BTC once you buy them. After all, if all of us buy BTC and hoard them, there will be no developments inside BTC economy, no growth. As in every other economy, there must be transactions.
In order for people to perform transactions, they need to have some sort of consumer protection and this is what I think legislaton should be aimed towards. How I, as an ordinary BTC user, can be protected if I decide to invest my BTC into something. Paypal s got charge back and laws supporting it, credit cards s got protection and laws supporting it, BTC s got nothing. I think this is one of MAJOR BTC flaws which needs to be solved in the future.

well you talked about scammers in your OP, so i thought you wanted to have answer about security too

as long as bitcoin remain decentralized it's difficult to have safety on investment, once i read, that in the future banks, could "play" with bitcoin, and offer this kinda of safety to customers, if they deposit their bitcoin there

basically they would say " deposit your bitcoin on our bank and get 2-3% interest per year or something like that, in exchange your bitcoin are secured by us"
18212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beginning of a reversal? on: April 05, 2015, 12:27:51 PM
returning to the previous pump(300)? or just the usual little mini pump of the weekend?

who know, but as long as the 200 barrier hold, i'm fine with the current situation, steady grow is always welcome
18213  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price can't decide. on: April 05, 2015, 09:55:58 AM
300 is a very hard line to break. Resistance built.

so it's 200, price will stuck between the two for a long time i suppose, which it isn't necessarily a bad thing...

everyone wanted a stable price, here your stable price
18214  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 million Bitcoin on: April 05, 2015, 09:49:12 AM
Hi gusy  Wink

What will happens when will create 21 million bitcoin ?

will start bitcoin price increase ?

When all btc will be mined, probabilly you will not still be in this world   ;-)

i don't undestand.

what talking ?

it will be bad that will create 21 million ?

i thought that bitcoin price increase

it should increase in theory, if bitcoin is not dead by that time

the point is that, the miners will mine for fees, and this mean that the price must be high for the miners in order that it's worth it

but still a long time before that will happen

18217  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: sell 3 Bitcoin 200$/1btc on: April 05, 2015, 08:09:55 AM
i'm interest with that price, but no paypal or other chargebackable things, and you must send first

we can use circle or standard sepa if in eurozone
18218  Economy / Gambling / Re: What percent of internet Bitcoin poker is Luck vs Skill? on: April 05, 2015, 08:04:20 AM
poker skill is overestimated, there is more luck involved, especially in tournament

it also depends who fights who, if two good players fight each other then the luck will rise more, because skill is about equal

otherwise if the difference is too big, one can see more "skill from the experience player" but in reality is the noobs that don't know how to play...
18219  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [BIT-X] Signature Campaign - Discussion on: April 05, 2015, 07:56:17 AM
I vote no for avatars.

I like mine.

it depend on the payment really, if they say to you that with the avatar you would get 0.03 a day, i'm sure you will accept it
18220  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 week target $160 on: April 05, 2015, 07:52:56 AM
Things were also looking like this back at the beginning of February and we did a slow but surprise breakout there, as well. I think chances are still quite good that this is "it"

Indeed. I know what I've been doing these last few months, and selling isn't it. There's a definite and growing possibility that the tide has turned.
Agree, the trend reversal process has started. It takes quite long usually with few bumps on the way. The important thing is not to sew lower lows and I think so far we may say that. Going back to $200 is possible, but not very much lower than that.

You mean after all those broken promised bottoms at $800 $600 $400 $300 $200 given, you are now sure $200 is the "real" bottom again?
Let's see how you get this one wrong again

well there must be a bottom at the end, the real bottom is the one where the price will hold for most time, current price is a good candidate for this

for this reason i still doubt that we will see sub 200
