You can always buy a miner like an S4/S5 and just desolder the chip if you have a hot air station.

I used his service for the very first BTC online purchase ever.
Transaction went very fast and smoothly. Will use him again if I buy anything else online with BTC.

There are people who bought $15000 ASICS and are selling them for $125.
So don't be surprised when your $35 USB Miner is only worth $2.

Today looks like another +10% day, most likely it will be +10 to +15% at the end of the cycle.

Most apartment have limited number of outlets one can use. Unless its a large 3-4 bedroom apartment which is rare to find. Some 1 bedroom apartment only have 2 breakers.

I know this is probably a stupid question but how exactly are the 3 speeds calculated? | 94.10/98.68/95.60Gh/s | The 94.10 is the 5 second average? The 98.68 is the 5 minute average? The 95.60 is the daily average? And a NEW WORLD RECORD hashrate was just set. Breaking 378Ph/s.
Maybe KNCMiner and Bitfury are powering up their energy efficient miners.

We asked our bank about escrow. They don't provide this service now. Actually escrow service is not popular in Asia.
About the paypal, our company doesn't not have a paypal account now. It may take times to have one.
You won't get any sales then without a company reputation, escrow, or accepting Paypal/Credit Cards. You joined a few days ago, why should we trust you? A few months ago there was a similar store selling Scrypt ASICs, they had a website and said they couldn't accept escrow or credit cards. The buyer ended up getting a bicycle lamp instead of an ASIC.

I don't understand why people are even paying up to $10 for these things.
I guess locally or on eBay you could re-sell them at a huge mark-up.
|
|
|
Don't scrap it! That BFL Single was one of the earliest ASICs ever made and is an important part of Bitcoin's history. It could be a valuable museum piece someday. See my thread here. There are people selling these locally for around $250.
I think once every few months some idiots actually buys one. So try to sell it on your local classifieds like Craigslist or Kijiji.
Why would anyone do that? You can pick up a 180 GH/s Antminer S1 for close to $50 these days which has 3 times the hashing power of the BFL while consuming the same number of watts. I guess people are idiots. Even on eBay those sell for $150-250.

Hey its been a while since you started this thread. Just wondering if you found any substitute thermal compound that would work for the S2.
Arctic MX4 was fine - im sure there are cheaper/better options. Did it make a difference in temperature after you applied MX-4 ?
|
|
|
When you are putting the paste on the Antminers, does it need to be non-conductive AND non-capacitive?
The CoolerMaster paste doesn't say so. Only the MX-4 but those are like $10 for 4 g
That's my question too, but for the money seems like you could cake on a whole farm with it. I'm awaiting purchase for this answer. It says it is for cpu and heatsinks but if it is at all conductive may damage being on the board. I don't know for sure. Someone chime in. I am pretty sure the cheap crap that Bitmain put on the stock heatsinks isn't any expensive quality product like MX-4.

All these new S5 batch are getting powered up and difficulty is going to high new highs. Sucks for anyone who bought new hardware this month
|
|
|
But of course even if it's variance (i.e. the hashrate spikes and then drops) it's still going to have an effect on difficulty. See a couple of spikes from the recent past, green is the 2016-block/difficulty line. Bow to my Paint skillz. Great and I bought myself a miner this week. Grrr....
|
|
|
Maybe the recent spikes are just luck? Slush's pool just did 10 Blocks in the last 12 hours, with only 12 Ph/s.
The price is down 14% for the week. It's $248 at the time of this writing.
Downward price pressure and no new efficiency hardware should continue to apply force against the difficulty.
AntPool had some massive luck today too. I wonder if the little extra BTC is also having an effect on the price. This should all sort itself out in the next week or so. It'll be interesting to see if Antpool stays lucky ... I wonder how accurate their reported hashrate is. Does it include Bitmain's own miners, for example? Assuming pool reported hashrates are accurate, we're not at 377Ph/s (which is the estimate for this difficulty period so far). In fact, pools that report haven't shown that much of an increase. Slush's pool has solved blocks at a rate consistent with a pool running at close to 30Ph/s over the last 24 hours, but its been constantly reporting just over 12 Ph/s. That said, even if its luck, its put us 40 blocks ahead of pace already. There's no reason to think bad luck will even it out, so even assuming luck has played a major role the past two days we're looking at a 3-5% increase this period. Possibly more depending on what Bitmain shipped. I'd be shocked if we jump over 10% though. That would mean 33 Ph/s was added to the network... seems a bit of a stretch. The day ended with 20 blocks solved too much. Looking at Antpools solved blocks they solved about 20 extra blocks today, so it could just be luck

I know if you have either a ASIC miner and/or GPU mining when entering 2014, you would of been filthy filthy filthy flthy RICH!
Don't know about 2011-2013 however.
Is this sarcasm? LOL. But just in case you are serious, 2014 was probably the worst time to make profits - either through mining or buying them from an exchange. Even if you didn't have all your coins stored on Mt. Gox when it collapsed, the BTC price dropped from $900 in January to $300 by December so any coins held during that time would have lost 66% of their value. GPU mining wasn't profitable any time in 2014. Most (if not all) ASICs probably weren't either. EDIT: Or perhaps you meant 2013? No I said entering 2014 because around Nov 2013-Jan 2014 were the most profits in those months
