Also this hub intakes 12 volts from a brick. I am pretty sure that a gpu rig could mine these sticks along with gpu coins and you could tap the atx psu for the 12 volts of power. I think this could work for 3 bricks not 5 https://www.amazon.com/60cm-Express-5-5X2-5mm-Plugs-Gridseed/dp/B00MTI68IE/ref=sr_1_10?I think 3 hubs doing 5 sticks each with the adapter above could do an easy freq of 200 with fans. I will do testing of this down the road.

Lot of mixed info here.
August 23rd or some date like that is the 25 % tariff.
But any miner from China going back to the first one sold in 2011 the Avalon I think.
is subject to the 2.6% tax
So for me I could get 2.6 % on maybe 10000. For a 260 usd bill.
And I could get 25% on an 1800 miner ordered near the tariff date in august this would be 450
So I think I could be charged as high as 700 or 800.
Basically every miner ever purchased from China from 2011 to 2017 is subject to the 2.6% number.
While the 25% number starts in August 23rd maybe August 28th.
So for me I will not be buying any gear for right now. As I sometimes got charged 3% from 2011 to 2017
And some times got charged zip.
I will need to wait to see if I get billed.

That really shouldn't have mattered. That's the golden ticket for pre-order companies, the time between when you pay and they deliver. It's a get out of jail free card, all you have to do is deliver the equipment, even if it's sub par for what is being sold along side it when the time to ship comes due.
There is no economical benefit to not shipping out the miners and refunding customers if the gear was successful. Considering the pre-order was supposedly sold out, they would have been way ahead by delivering this product to market, then moving forward.
this is why preorders are death. so they sold out say 1000 machines for 3000. or 3 million. how does anyone know if : they mined them for 4 months. they only cost 1 million to make them they earned 1 million profit which means they are all roi'd and they refund the 3 million back, their cost = 0 they have 1000 miners paid off. they have a load leveler deal with a major japanese power company they switch gear on and off to level the load and split the coins with the power company If that is true I could prove it if Japan gave me full authority to investigate it. But that is less likely then my 2 sidekick new pacs hitting back to back blocks. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

So try bumping up the voltage a little? Clock wise, quarter of a turn?
¼ is a lot. think of it as a clock and try 1/12 of a turn clockwise. If I recall a full turn is too much which is why I always would try 1/12 of a turn when bumping them up.

I can't say I've heard of any issues in particular with this. More than likely you may wear out your switch before anything else.
I would suggest doing a soft stop. Do this by stopping the mining first and bringing the machine to an idle then shut it down. The power draw wi be reduced which is easier on equipment.
Honestly though if it's still profitable during the day I would run 24/7.
Soft stop would be much more preferred and this is my first time on hearing out different electricity rate in the morning and evening? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) the only soft way to power off is 2 separate psu's one does the hashboards the other does the controller. it is a bad method since the psu running the controller can fail the board will stay hot and the fans would be turned off. some areas have cheaper night power. at op just do it. hit a switch at 7am shut them off. hit a switch at 12midnight turn them on. I gather you will be 7 hours on 17 off. so how cheap is that 7 hour on rate vs the 17 hour off rate.?

mine are rock solid at 250mhz
using the 10 port bipolar usb hub. which says it can do 10 watts a port.
I think it can do 8 watts and 8 sticks but with only 2 sticks and one on order I most likely won't push it that hard.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5070062.0give a way was completed thread for giveaway was locked by me. ######################### ########################## I have moved both newpacs to the new sipolar usb hub purchased from ebay link. I have set them to 250 freq and I am pointing at bravo mining http://www.bravo-mining.com/Contributor Hashrates Rank Donor User Name TH/s BTC/Day USD/Day 1 jonnybravo.........8.091 0.000 0.0000 2 MinerSRQ...........1.501 0.000 0.0000 3 rkotsybar...........0.806 0.000 0.0000 4 tubexc...............0.129 0.000 0.0000 5 philipma1957 0.127 0.000 0.0000 2 sticks do very well 6 bugwash............0.102 0.000 0.0000 7 AB1042503........0.033 0.000 0.0000 8 munkeyminer......0.030 0.000 0.0000 9 mofoq................0.030 0.000 0.0000 10 PhredPhrog 0.020 0.000 0.0000 11 CaptRedeye 0.016 0.000 0.0000 my opinions these are nice sticks so nice I grabbed a third one and it is on its way I will set it to the sipolar hub. the power brick gives 12 volts at 10 amps. so 12 x 10 = 120 watts convert to 5volts since ports are 5 volts 90percent to 95 percent so 120 x .9 = 108 watts x .8 for safety = 86.4 watts round down to 80 /10 = 8 watts for 10 ports in theory so here is sidehack's chart @100MHz was 2.65W, with AsicBoost measured 2.35W. (default) @200MHz was 4.66W, with AsicBoost measured 4.20W. (fan cooled) @400MHz was 9.63W, with AsicBoost measured 8.38W. (out of support zone) @600MHz was 13.62W, with AsicBoost measured 12.45W. (damage if fan gets tired zone) looks like 300mhz could work with all 10 ports and good fans

Well Diff adjustments going the good way is a nice offset with the current price. If this keeps up it would be interesting to see what the next retarget period brings us.

Well I'm not a day trader and like a sure thing. Best to those risking BTC for a shitfork.
I will say one thing we will have a large drop. It is 13 days and 22 hours since last jump. and we have 152 blocks to go. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficultyBitcoin Difficulty: 7,184,404,942,701 Estimated Next Difficulty: 6,807,493,130,902 (-5.25%) Adjust time: After 152 Blocks, About 1.2 daysHashrate(?): 46,213,105,966 GH/s Block Generation Time(?): 1 block: 11.0 minutes 3 blocks: 32.9 minutes 6 blocks: 1.1 hours Updated: 14:25 (2.9 minutes ago) we could do a -5 to -8 here. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficultyDifficulty History Date Difficulty Change Hash Rate Nov 16 2018 6,800,000,000,000 -6.00 48,000,000,000 GH/s looks like this could be correct Nov 01 2018 7,184,404,942,701 0.02% 51,427,973,784 GH/s Oct 18 2018 7,182,852,313,938 -3.65% 51,416,859,634 GH/s Oct 04 2018 7,454,968,648,263 4.23% 53,364,744,228 GH/s Sep 20 2018 7,152,633,351,906 1.90% 51,200,543,878 GH/s Sep 07 2018 7,019,199,231,177 4.34% 50,245,385,237 GH/s Aug 24 2018 6,727,225,469,722 5.29% 48,155,355,642 GH/s so going as low as aug 24 numbers could happen here. boy the Nov 29th to Dec 1st numbers will be very interesting to behold
