The biggest probably crap news I hear today is Lukaku wanted by both Newcastle AND Spurs. I usually don't pay attention to that kind of nonsense but something tells me it's actually true. Heh.
If Tottenham are going after Lukaku then it means they are finally ready to let go of Harry Kane. And if Harry Kane is leaving he might go to Madrid or Bayern but since it next to impossible for the England Captain to leave England the English clubs that will go for him are Manchester United and Chelsea. Both teams lack a natural, clinical, world class striker and Kane can fill that void.

Yeah and now, for me, who wants to go to Chelsea now and sit on the bench? Only people who don't mind not playing (aka not hungry enough). Something tells me it's not just about Chelsea being idiot in transfer, I wonder if also about Potter not knowing what he's doing or can he really be blameless here?

I think the whole team is clueless. Boehly and Potter are clueless. Boehly is probably just buying every available player while Potter has no idea how to turn things around on the pitch. It might click for Chelsea next season but this season is gone and if Potter is not careful he will be fired.
1842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 30, 2023, 11:49:31 AM
Right now there are a lot of surprises going on in this Italian league. Nothing is actually certain in this league. And I think we can get the idea of that because only a few days ago we saw Juventus being in the second position of the table. Now they are somewhere near 10. That's how quickly things are changing in this league.

Honestly, I know that the first position of the table is being dominated by Napoli right now. I know they are ahead by a lot of points. But I am still not sure that they will actually be able to win this series A title eventually.

However things change i hope it doesn't change for Napoli. I was really happy for their win against Roma yesterday, it was a difficult one. Now Napoli is 13 points clear of Inter who are second with 18 games to play. I don't think they would fumble the league again this time around but this is football, you never know. The fight now will be for the next 3 spot. There's only a 3 point difference between Inter who are second and Roma who are sixth. Lazio, Atalanta and Milan are all on 38 points. The competition in the Serie A have always been interesting and this season wont disappoint.
I really don't care about how all the rest turns out, I just want Napoli to win the league.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 30, 2023, 11:33:38 AM
they've already spent quite a bit of money on it. and they should have been prepared to raise their game to a better level.
meeting with Dortmund is getting closer. and if they don't finish what they want to achieve soon, it looks like this season they don't have any targets. and maybe next season we will see him play better, maybe also with a new coach.

I don't know if Chelsea actually have a plan with the amount of signings they're making. I cant even keep up with the amount of players they've singed since the new management took over. I hope they are not just trying to please the fans with these signing because some of the players are not necessary. They have signed about 14 players and none of them is a natural top 9. Another problem is all these players might need a little time to adjust and understand each other both in and off the field.

I don't see them achieving anything this season. They might win Dortmund in the UCL because Dortmund are not in a really good form too but Chelsea would be lucky to make it to the Semis.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 30, 2023, 11:02:28 AM
Real Madrid weren't totally bad. They tried to score and Vinicuis wasn't lucky with the two opportunities he had. On the other hand, I can't believe how could the ranked third team in a league play for a draw. This show the difference between La Liga and the EPL, Scosiedad had only two scoring opportunities throughout the match, which resulted in a one-side boring match.

There's this sentiment people have towards Madrid players. Look at you now saying Vinicuis was unlucky, but if it was any other player that's not a Madrid player you'll say he was wasteful. Vinicuis was very wasteful yesterday. Velverde was awful all round. Kross, Camavinga were the outstanding players for Madrid yesterday aside the defense.

The third place team in the EPL is Newcastle that have just been acquired by the rich Arabs, the fourth place team is Manchester United that have spent millions in recruiting players and is always among the top 5 richest football clubs in the Europe yet these teams perform very badly when they meet these Spanish teams that are not half as rich and can't afford half the players these English teams can afford. That illusion about the EPL been ultimately better than every other league is laughable.
By the way, that match wasn't boring, you're just not used to technical football, and Sociedad had more than 2 goal scoring opportunities.

Arsenal out from the FA Cup, but it's nothing to worry about for Arteta, this will reduce the burden on his players in a very busy season. Now the main task for Arsenal will be to play well in the Premier League and increase their lead to 8 points in order to be in a comfortable position. Moreover, they can even try to increase this gap. For Guardiola, the Champions League is now the number one task.

I'm kind of happy Arsenal lost the FA cup tie to Man City. I'm not a Arsenal fan but I'm desperately prating for them to win the EPL this season. The FA cup might have been a distraction and its kind of like a blessing they've been eliminated. So now they can focus on just the league and Europa league, two trophies that Arsenal will give anything to win. They suffered a lot and came really close in the 2015/16 season at a point but they still lost it to Leicester City.
Arsenal should put all their focus on the league and Europa.
1846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 29, 2023, 12:06:42 PM
Roma manager Jose Mourinho is keen to return to the Premier League for next season and his ideal job would be a third spell in charge at Chelsea. We all know how much Mourinho is connected to Chelsea, but is this a real possibility or just someone's wish?

Jose does well in a star studded squad. With the amount of players Chelsea have signed recently, Jose would most likely win trophies for Chelsea. He does not guarantee you good football but you are most likely going to win a trophy or two with Mourinho. I am not a fan of his football style and I would not like him in my club, especially considering todays football but for a club like Chelsea who just want to win trophies he will be a good fit.

Going back to Chelsea for a third time might not be a very good idea for Jose when you consider the fact that his previous spell there didn't go well for both him and Chelsea. Knowing the kind of person Jose is, I doubt he will turn down the chance to coach Chelsea one more time especially now that Chelsea have a new management that are not scared to spend money on players.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 28, 2023, 09:26:09 PM
I made the right decision not to bet on Bayern Munich today. I honestly cant tell what's going on with them. They have not won any of their last four matches. For a club that played 13 matches before the end of 2022 and won all except a 2-2 draw with Dortmund this is unexplainable. Maybe its the world cup heartbreak affecting them. Their first game of 2023 was a draw against Salzburg and we all thought it was just a friendly but they've gone ahead to draw their 3 next Bundesliga matches after that friendly. Somehow they will still win the league, it's the champions league that's the problem. It would be disastrous for them if they take this kind of form to face PSG.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 28, 2023, 05:35:32 PM
The difference of 12 points from Milan in second place makes Napoli feel a little safe, temporarily being able to focus on other competitions such as the Champions League.

A mistake for Napoli is to be comfortable in any way at this point of the season. They've made that mistake before and lost the league to Juventus. If I were them i'll focus solely on the league because that's the trophy that they are more likely to win at the moment. It will be too difficult for them to win the champions league and if they're not careful they can lose both the UCL and league. 12 points is not really that much when you have about 18 games more to play. All it takes is just 4 games of dropping points and you're in a difficult position. They should apply same pressure they're applying and should not step on the brakes anytime soon.

1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 28, 2023, 05:22:54 PM
Hard fought 3 points from Barcelona, they been winning by this exact same margin in recent weeks. The good news for them is that they know how to hold on to their lead. They didn't play particularly well but I think they are learning how to win games without playing perfectly well. There were a few rotations from Barcelona added with absence of Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Barcelona are now 6 points ahead at the top of the league and have a strong chance to remain that well if Madrid lose to Sociedad tomorrow which is pretty possible because Madrid have not been at their best while Sociedad is in a good form.

Girona had chances to at least get a point out of this game but unfortunately for Girona and fortunately for Barcelona they couldn't make use of the chances.

In as much as Arsenal are on the lookout for a new midfielder before the January transfer window closes, Mckenie isn’t one of the targets. They wants further cover in the midfield area because of a fresh injury concern for Mohamed Elneny. And that’s in the defensive area of the midfield. Now the speculations is about a £75m move for Caicedo and could once again face a competition from Chelsea. But I think it would be unlikely at this stage that Arsenal would manage to pull it off.

75 million euros for Caicedo is a deal Arsenal will not make. They didn't even make that offer for Mudryk. He's more likely to join Chelsea if he leaves. The bigger problem is Brighton do not want to sell. They are not even willing to listen to offers. They want him to remain in the club for at least the second half of the season.
Brighton have told Caicedo not to attend training today and also not to play against Liverpool tomorrow. They want him to stay away until the transfer window closes on the 1st of February. The January transfer window will close in less than 4 days and in as much as a lot can happen in 4 days, I don't se this one happening.
1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 28, 2023, 10:38:29 AM
Actually, Arsenal performance against Man City in the FA Cup was not bad. In fact, I see this as initial capital for Arteta to be able to read Pep Guardiola game. The two trainers have worked together in the past and know each other in proven field strategies. At least Arteta can focus more on the Premier League and try to improve the performance of his young players when he meets Man City again. Like the Man United vs Arsenal match, where Arsenal lost the first meeting, but in the next meeting they were able to beat Man United. Now, this is where Arteta ingenuity is, which can always learn from defeats and improve which lines are vulnerable to being penetrated by opponents. Arsenal being eliminated in the FA Cup does not mean the end of everything, the top of the Premier League standings is still the most prestigious event and is the main target for Arteta.

Yesterdays game was too cautious. Both teams were playing it safe and that made the match not as interesting as it could be. Both coaches were fighting the battle of tactics. Arsenal played well as you said but not as well as they used to. Saka wasn't given any space with the ball and the ball was not distributed to him much because Man City cut the supply. City weren't all that good to. Both teams were so careful not to make any errors or leave too much space in behind for the opponent to utilized. I think Zinchenko was impressive for Arsenal as always.
Like you said, Arteta better learn from this any win City in the league so they can extend their lead at the top.
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 27, 2023, 05:16:01 AM
Let me start by saying that the problem of Chelsea is not only the midfielders and defenders but rather the whole problem of the team lies in the hands of the management of the team, Thomas Tuchel was getting good result with same players before he was sack but ever since the arrival of Potter everything has suddenly come backward in Chelsea yet Potter has not been sacked, I think the players are not happy with the current coach and not playing well is the only way to send a message to the management and until they do the right things,  they can't get a positive result even with the big names they are bringing into the team.
I am not so sure that fans understand how common this can be, a great deal of what a coach does has nothing to do with telling their players how to play, as at such a high level there is not much the coach can teach them or tell them which they have not heard already, so most of the work a coach has to do comes down to the personal relationship they can develop with their players, and if it is not good then players can and will boycott them.
When Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel, actually in the hands of Thomas Tuchel everything looked fine. Yes, they did get unsatisfactory results, but that was still within reasonable limits when the season had just started. But the management took an ambitious step by immediately sacking him, and now we see the results, they are worse off than the previous coach. I don't know what's wrong with them at the moment, so it's very difficult to show progress.
Management was sacking tuchel too early without even give him more time to prove it. I mean tuchel has been giving chelsea some trophies before. He deserves second chance but that's very sad to see that todd as a new owner of chelsea was not feeling good with tuchel. I meant todd may have personal problem with tuchel. that's why chelsea was sacking him as soon as possible after chelsea faced some defeats in the early season. Todd tried to rebuild chelsea on his own way.
Let's see how good chelsea under him. So many players already bought but we have not yet seen good result from these transfers

The truth is the management has lot to do to see Chelsea up else they will continue with this staggering form and situation. Thomas Tuchel has been sacked new players have been recruiting into Chelsea to improve them but yet they seem no to be headed to the right direction, half way of the season and they look short and not sure of playing European games next season.
Toddy Boehly should sack the present the backing is enough the results are not getting positive ans any better, they still maintain ten position till date.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 27, 2023, 05:09:25 AM
I dont think that Arsenal will win easily against Everton. Everytime a first place team plays against the last team they either struggle or lose points and how Everton badly needs points they might even make a surprise and win against Arsenal.
I see that Everton is a club that is not too strong and is not ready to compete against a club as big as Arsenal. Arsenal must take advantage of a situation like this to add many points by scoring many goals because Arsenal meeting Everton is a very rare opportunity for Arsenal.
The worst part of this Everton issue is that the club has invested more than some average clubs in the English Premier league. I think they spent so much money on players they don't need. The sack of Frank Lampard might not be the solution to their problem but it is the right decision because the club was not improving and it was clear that they might be relegated if nothing is done. I think Frank Lampard is just unlucky or he needs to go on break for one to two years. Let him use that opportunity to study and learn more about the tactical aspect of football. He has a very good relationship with players, but he lacks the technical skills of coaching.

Everton would take every match seriously because they are struggling to survive. Except there is a surprise result, I doubt if Everton stands any chance of winning the match against Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's team is the strongest and the most consistent this season. Although football result is sometimes unpredictable but based on the current form of the two clubs, Arsenal will win the match by more than two goals.

It's time they do what other club's are doing signature of potential young players and talents that will run the club and help the.back to where they use to be premier league top five and six teams, but since Ancellotti left they have not come near seventh position.
With Ancellotti they had a chance to be occupant's of the first position of the premier league.
The sack was normal as it should be now they scout and get a good coach that fits into the future they want for the club to excel.

According to rumors PSG made an offer of 10 million for Skriniar to Inter.
Just 5 months ago they offered 60 million and Inter said no thankyou we want 80.

Now the path is clear or they will take 10 or 0 this summer since it will be a free agent.

I believe that this hiring should take place now, I'm just not sure if they'll make it for the 10 million.
With the sale of Skriniar and also De Vrij and D'Ambrosio (almost certainly), they are already thinking about reinforcements and Presnel Kimpem is already being speculated.

With a focus on strengthening the defensive sector for next season, Inter Milan is still in the market looking for big names to form the new Nerazzurri defense.

It seems that Inter has already started contacts with Presnel Kimpembé's agents, the player has a contract with PSG until 06/24 and is also looking for "new air" in his career.

Will there really be this exchange of defenders between Inter and PSG?

Inter Milan should have done this long time ago rather than crying and holding a player that wants to explore other leagues down. He will be a good replacement when Ramos finally leaves the club.

Frank Lampard should have even been sacked a long time ago, you look at how they Everton play and you know that they are not just going anywhere but down the league if he continues with the club..
Ten Hag knows what he wants, Selling MacTominay and Maguire will not make the team performance poor, they can go in peace.

The match between Real Madrid vs Athletico Madrid in the quarter finals is now over with Real Madrid being the victor with 3 goals to Athletico Madrids 1.

It was a pretty tense and interesting match. I would say the match was a bit difficult for Athletico Madrid as Real Madrid dominated the game mostly in the second half as it was in the second half that Real Madrid sort of came to life and scored the three goals to put them ahead to win the match and advance further up.

It's always been an interesting time watching the Madrid Derby.

Athletico Madrid always be the one to flop when it comes to crucial moments as this, two Champions League should have been history to Athletico Madrid but they didn't do enough to win the Champions League.
It was good to see Modric playing as he should play helping the young players with the confidence on how to play Real Madrid after Diego Simeone and players scoring first. But Real Madrid came back finally into the extra minutes to win the game.
1856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 27, 2023, 04:20:57 AM
Barcelona meets Man United, Barcelona is not doing well in UCL but is doing well in their domestic league (La liga) at least based on the position in the league, it's a different story for Man United (as they are still in transition at the moment) but the result of this match remains depending on how many players in both teams are still fit/injury free after the busy schedule of these few matches.

In history Man United have always struggled against Barcelona, but I think Man United know it has been fixed and are ready. Man United vs Barcelona is by far the biggest Europa league game of all time.

What I have noticed about Barcelona this season is that their performance in laliga is different from other leagues competitions, that is why am not convinced of Barcelona can defeat Manchester United.  Before now Manchester United performance in Europa league have been very impressive. Barcelona focus more on laliga and might not put too much seriousness in europa league.  It is true Manchester United  have always been struggling with Barcelona but  a different case might occur.

They be disappointed how quickly they got knocked out of the Champions League so they shift the focus down to La Liga which look like a better competition to them than the Europa league competition.
Camp Nou might be a place of fortress for Barcelona and so is the same for Manchester United who has turned the Old Trafford to a fortress also. If United happens to draw the game at Camp Nou they're ending it all at Old Trafford.

If Mbappe likes let him score the whole 7 goals himself. The main question is, how many assists has he made so far this season? He's scored more than 18 goals now at the league level but how many assists has he made? His assists in the club are not even up to half of the assistance given by Messi or Neymar. No doubt, Mbappe is quite a versatile player, but he is intentionally selfish if u ask me, and this may someday be errant to his career.

This is a very wrong thing to say, the current football around the world has to do with goals, work rate, team contributions and individual performance, at the end would be winning the World Cup and Champions League for your country and club.
Kylian Mbappe already has one, and has scored good number of goals both last season and this season, I don't see him slacking down with scoring goals. You all talk about attitude but have you done a personal check about oneself. Let him keep doing his thing.
1858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin compete with CBDC's? on: January 26, 2023, 07:15:30 AM
Not to be cynical about Bitcoin but Bitcoin is king it comes first when you think of a currency, if you browse through the forum thoroughly, you will see this particular question has been asked over again.

Central bank's digital currencies are just an upgrade of fiat currencies.

Bitcoin gives one the power to run its own nodes and transfer it between countries making it borderless, but central bank's currencies can not be transferred in a split seconds. You will have to exchange to another to send to that country.
Asides that looking for a merchant to run this can be quite stressful, with Bitcoin less stress is involved. This should be the last time you think of comparison between Bitcoin and Central Bank Digital Currencies.

I think Chelsea will be winning the game against Fulham in the upcoming match of EPL. If I lose and yeah it's not my lucky day
it's too much weird if lose at home next. I don't know what happens in the squad, it looks like Chelsea need a new coach to manage the squad because when I look at the details, they don't have a problem with each line, and all component is good, maybe potter doesn't put a player in the best position.

The score is now on Graham Potter to settle if he losses the game to Fulham at home, the fans won't forgive him for that, forget that the management backing him, once the fans are exhausted with his por tactics he'll be sent a sack letter.
The game should seethe favorites winning they already have a good back defender's, Koullibaly on the bench would be a good thing to see he overlaps and cause too many errors for Chelsea loosing unnecessary possession is something else I've observed.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 26, 2023, 01:15:41 AM
No matter what the score is, it doesn't matter. The goal was victory and their final result was qualifying. As usual, Barcelona's problem was not able to penetrate the Sociedad defense that piled up many players in the defensive area. This proved that Barcelona could only make a goal in the 52nd minute. Sociedad also played with 10 men as Mendez was red-carded. Perhaps if there hadn't been a red card the match would have been different, and Barcelona might have been harder to win.
Sure, the most important is the win, not the number of goals. But with 1 goal only, it means a lot that Barcelona is not very effective at attacking. Although Real Sociedad only played with 10 players since minute 40', Barcelona only can make 1 goal. I feel something wrong with Barcelona attacking, their attackers look to have less accuracy. Xavi must fix this problem, so they won't have a problem when they play in the next El Classico or the other big matches.

We all know that Barcelona is still trying to recover from past misfortune and in doing that, their performance may not be up to the expectation, but even with one goal it still makes a big difference for Barcelona who is fixing its team to meet up with other stronger clubs squad this season.
Most of the clubs in the same zone as Barcelona are not performing up to what Barcelona is doing presently and also I am not disputing the fact that alot more need to be done in their next match to sustain a good temple for consistent performance for Barcelona ahead of this season final stage of the premier league.

They have not just won but also keep a clean game with allowing opponents scoring and tearing up the defense tonight, one must admit that Barcelona are gradually regaining themselves from the problems and setbacks they found themselves with Koeman as coach of Barcelona.
The win last night wasn't enough but that's a good game still making preparations for the big meet up again Manchester United.
That game will be on Le of the best test for Xavi to test how good tactics he has in Europe.
