is nice that come a week from now miners wont be able to crash it anymore, and if we are all working on PoS there wont be many on the markets..... if the price rises like I think it should more will join the group. If it can make it through a month we should see it blossom.

way i see it come tomorrow there will only be 3k made a day.... if there is even 1/10th the amount of action as there was in the last 24 hours the price is gonna go up.
of course well have to see the top 50 wallets distibute among users of a real community for the price to go to the moon.

What is interesting is that the net hashrate remains so high, when obviously at these prices and diff is not profitable anymore. That tells me that most people believe that the coin will go up in the future.
With the BC diff at 250 and the price at 800 sat, it takes 155 days per 1000 KH/s to generate 1 BTC. With MINT at 28 sat and the diff 46.5 it takes 132 days per 1000 KH/s to generate 1 BTC . So mining BC to trade and accumulate MINT no longer makes sense now that the price ratio is 28:1. Who was doing that? I think most miners were renting rigs and selling the BC as soon as they got them to make a nice profit. That's no possible anymore. That's why the prices in Betarigs fell so much  Ever since the the average block reward for MINT dropped to 62,500 on Thursday it was much more profitable for anyone looking to accumulate MINT through mining to mine BC instead and then trade it for MINT. With the price ratio being at 45:1 to as high as 63:1 yesterday evening, you would have accumulated at least 8-10x more MINT by trading BC vs mining MINT. makes sense the volumes support your hypothesis, though if Mint prices keep dropping and even a small part of that community joins Black well see a good rise in price |

buy 100k for a btc if you have one to gamble and sit on it for a few wekks
if you wake up to find blackcoins are 0 you lost the equivalent to a big party night
if it gains traction you now have 4-10 bitcoins
like going to the casino, but the odds are a little better

I was just playing in the mintpal exchange getting another 30k black.... there was a lot of numbers bouncing around without much support at any level, it was confusing and reeked of manipulation

How does PoS work?PoS can only be done by an unlocked wallet. In the client it is called 'Staked Mining'. As soon as you unlock your wallet (there is a difference between encrypted & locked) the stake miner will start. You will start to see coins being moved from your balance to your 'Stake' balance. Coins will not be lost. After a while you will start receiving transactions with your earned interest. How to unlock:Go to your Debug Window and then open the Console. Type in: walletpassphrase -yourpassword- -secondstokeepwalletopen- true An example would be: walletpassphrase Ex4mpl3P4ssW0rd 3600 true In this way you'll unlock your wallet for one hour. How to lock:keep getting message 18:15:22  Error: Error parsing JSON:him any ideas? Go to your Debug Window and then open the Console. Type in: Now your wallet is locked and you'll stop PoS mining. Is my stake balance spendable? - Not sure yet, has to be confirmed by either dev or community This is the information I have managed to gather so far, If you have any other questions, please leave them here so I can try to answer them! So, if you have an unencrypted wallet (never encrypted), will it be mining or do you need to go through this process, encrypt, then unencrypt/unlock it? This is the real question for me too. My wallet ISN'T encrypted and I have had NO passwords / pass-phrases entered into my Blackcoin wallet since installation, im running 1.01. The stake mining portion sounds awesome, but at the same time I don't want to start using a feature that isn't fully implemented / tested and put my coins at risk. Is there ANYONE who can clarify this? |
