Manchester city just showed us why they deserve to be on top of the log by beating one of the teams i consider to have one of the best defenses in the premiere league, which also puts them 14 points ahead of league rivals Liverpool who have 2 games in hand. But such a head start for Manchester city means no catching them az they are a few months away from bagging another EPL tropy, congrats to the citizens!

They do are the one with best defensive team right now with 13 goals conceded this PL season and their defense has been involved in scoring too. Cancelo has 1 goal and 5 assists to his name, Laporte and Dias has also two goals each to their name. Liverpool with two games in hand might become the closest one to catch on to City but with the form City are in its hard to say.

After Trippier and that totally crazy Chris Wood transfer, Newcastle is apparently targeting Keylor Navas next.
To be honest, they seem completely lost to me. Paying 30 mil for Chris Wood is borderline insane and now they are after a goalkeeper when they have Dubravka - a really solid PL goalie.

Sven Botman deal appears to be dead after Lille decided they won't be selling him during the winter, I would not be surprised at all if they paid like 20 mil pounds for someone like Nat Phillips in the next few days.

Chris Wood actually is good give his age but 30million seems like really waste of money. I really do wonder who is behind the brains for this transfer inside Newcastle. Seems like failure of getting any big names is just taking toll on their heads now. Except for Trippier , I did't liked any of the their transfers.

According to reports, Atletico Madrid won't renew Luis Suarez's contract in June. After Atletico Madrid announced that they wouldn't renew Luis Suarez's contract, Aston Villa is interested in signing him. A good striker does not become a bad one overnight. His addition will strengthen the Aston Villa attack.

Another striker? Seems wierd in my opinion. Danny Ings and Watkins are enough for Aston Villa in my opinion but its good to have an experienced striker like Luis Suarez and furthermore won't cost them much also. He already seems to be unsettled at Atletico Madrid and getting back playing under the direction of former teammate will work out well for him now. Decent transfer news but doesn't feels like an impactful one.

Haaland needs to get used to the pressure. Wherever he goes, it is already clear that it will be a top club and there the pressure on him (in terms of expected results) will be constant. However, I support him in that he openly declares some problems - this will be a good signal for those who put pressure on him to stop their actions.

Haaland is young and haven't had any prior experiences in major club so yeah can understand him being unable to handle the pressure. But yeah it is also true that this is normal but Dortmund also shouldn't force him like that. He earlier send out signal one or two year ago when asked about the next club and he said that he has contract with Dortmund right now and he respects the club so won't get away suddenly. I think his plans would have eventually have been out if they would have provided him contract extension- and Haaland accepting that or/rejecting that would have eventually indicated about his plans about the future.

Yeah good point that coming out public could possibly stop this pressurizing on him.

man city managed to secure 3 points, and managed to beat chelsea, man city's winning goal was scored by de bruyne in the 70th minute, one goal was enough to keep man city safe in the top position, and man city is now getting stronger at the top of the standings, man city has now collected 56 points, and has played 22 matches, man city is now very difficult to be chased by its rivals..
I think even if Man City is without a goal it still keeps him safe at the top. The difference is far will not be too easy followed by Chelsea. Even if the final score is a draw and Chelsea is considered to be able to withstand the attacks built by Guardiola's men, it still makes Man City not displaced. Moreover, with a score of 1 point, it has brought Man City as a club that will be designated as a club that has claimed the trophy.

I would say it was still worth a shot even if they would have beaten City. Who knows maybe they later on had back-to-back losses or drop of points and enough for making a good competition in some last few rounds of the PL. Guess now it seems rather hard with this win. Seems more like a race of coming 2nd or 3rd for them.

Aston Villa vs United up ahead and it is likely that Coutinho might feature in this match. Can't wait to see how this match goes.  Cheesy

Erling Halland must make a wise decision, to decide his future, because if Erling Halland chooses the wrong club, his career will fade,

Like Pogba did 5 years ago from Juventus to Manchester.

Often happens with Raiola, the money is the most important thing.

That's exactly how it will happen. MinoRaiola will demand the best offer for Haaland and he always gets it. He does it so well that his players are happy and can play very good soccer. All the money is the result of good work. That is his attitude. Haaland said, "All I really want to do is play soccer, but I can't do that." This is a sign of a change.

Pressurizing a player is really bad and Dortmund taking that step has pushed Haaland into thinking about moving away from the German club. Haaland is a very focused player and all he wants to do is play football and this thing is coming in between so naturally he will think about it. It will be interesting to see where he lands but yeah what coinlocket$ meant up there was Mino Raiola is kinda money minded and he really does take a lot commission and that's why most of the big teams take off their interests off for example- Bayern who once did but they put down their interests after hearing his commission.

I really don't think there's anything even about the first 45 minutes, except for the fact that score line is still 0-0, It's been pretty much a City dominated game. There hasn't been a single attempt from Chelsea, and it's solely Kepa's brilliant saves that has kept them in the game.

Without a proper striker City are finding it difficult to score but I think this might change in second half. I think Guardiola will bring out some changes soon to put more pressure on Chelsea's defense. There has been some chances for City but Kepa did really well , especially the Grealish one which was very close out of all of them.

I think Guardiola might roll out Jesus and Gundogan to turn things soon in second half.

Lol. I'm not surprised by this rumor, but who said Loftus-Cheek would struggle in a less competitive league like Serie A? Loftus may be a terrible goal scorer, but he has the physique, passing, and dribbling skills to contribute to any squad. He's a fantastic player, and Chelsea would be mad to sell him.

Chelsea's third effort to return Emerson from his loan spell was turned down due to a lack of depth at the left back position..

Hmm. Forgot that he will be getting into Serie A so yeah should work well for Juventus then.

Also Chelsea are recalling their players back from loans recently. Emerson was the one which Chelsea tried to call him back, also another player - Kenedy (winger) was called back from loan in Flamengo. Is Thomas Tuchel unhappy with current squad and looking for more options? With that I have little doubt about Loftus Cheek being sent out.

They should be able to finish the job before letting Freiburg score and make them difficulties.

Dortmund doesn't have a solid defence and that is why they have been caught up many times by the opponents. Even if they score early or have one or two goal cushion, it wouldn't be enough. Defending that scoreline is the next part of the plan and that is where Dortmund are not good at. Freiburg on other hand have put a good defensive display this season so far and so I think they wouldn't break that easily before Dortmund.
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 14, 2022, 05:41:44 PM
Less than three hours to go for the Dortmund - Freiburg game. This is going to be a competitive one hopefully. My prediction is that Dortmund would beat them. But I don't think that Freiburg will let them do this comfortably. Both teams can score at least one goal. And at the end, Dortmund can be the victory by a one-goal difference. They really need to win this not to get away from Bayern Munich more.

I am not so confident on Dortmund result on this. Even in earlier match they were caught out by Frankfurt quickly in first half but they made it in time in that match and won that but they are up against a team with quite some form so possible that they might get caught here and chances of that happening is good here. Obviously they will have the home support and they have goalscorer but they are leaking goals at the back so as long as that is there possible that there could be an upset.

Yeah it's true, couple of hours ago Fabrizio tweeted this about Arthur Melo : https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1481560148988596226 . Interesting to see lot of big loan moves in this transfer window. Arthur Melo to Arsenal is also reported to be a loan move.

There is no money, only in Premier League.
The loan can't happen if a player can't be find.

According to rumors they are going for Loftus-Cheek   Undecided

Hmm good point. Loftus-Cheek huh? He is good but not that good for Juventus. They need a strong midfielder presence and I don't think at all Loftus-Cheek will give Juventus that. Locatelli is working out well for Juventus and maybe they are looking Loftus-Cheek as backup option?

Btw, any thoughts for today's game between Brighton and Crystal Palace? I'm thinking that Brighton can take the win, easy or hard... Undecided

Not so sure about this one. Brighton is the favourite but Crystal Palace also have good players and they might surprise out Brighton. Lot of players will be out for AFCON but I still Crystal palace has good attacking players like Edouard, Benteke and also for this one Gallagher should be back after recovering from illness. Brighton haven't won against Crystal Palace in last 5 H2H.

According to several sources here in Italy Arthur is really close to Arsenal.

Juventus can't let him go for free of course and before according to the deal they need to find a player for his spot.

Anyway Xhaka was red carded, Liverpool is not going to lose against 10 players for sure though especially not in Anfield

It's Liverpool who are having fair amount of attacking momentum and it's been like that since the start. Xhaka red card was a horrible one and yeah he was in difficult situation there so had to do something and he did something that was rash. Still I wouldn't call Arsenal out of books, Saka and Laca are still out there so kinda have a feeling that they might surprise in second half.

There is only one game today which is going to be between Southampton and Brentford in St. Mary's. I'm aware of the fact that these two teams both are not at very ideal positions but I'm still expecting it to be a competitive game. And I'm favouring Southampton here. Southampton lost only once in their home games so far in this season. I think that we will see at least three goals in this game and Southampton could win by 2-1.

Honestly I think Brentford has a chance here, Saints have been struggling ever since Danny Ings left and there is no proper striker in their team. The best goalscorer they have right now is Prowse or Che Adams. Armando Broja has been performing recently for Saints but needs consistency and he is young as well so lacks experience. Brentford started the league with solid performances and they have good defence and attack. I think it is an even one but I am gonna go with Brentford here.
1856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 09, 2022, 07:27:59 PM
I would say it is pretty much a first match ball. City isn't going to lose a ton of games this season, it just won't happen unless they Gert hit by the virus. Liverpool isn't as stable either, so City would not only have to lose points, but Liverpool would have to win them all. I don't know. But anyway, it will be fun to watch the City - Chelsea game.

If Chelsea gets City to drop points, Liverpool could get relatively close.

Yeah the squad they have is pretty dense and Guardiola gives them fair amount of chances so they have decent experience as well. Even till now with 21 games played they have played 2 draws and 2 losses so that's total of 10 point drop. It's very tough for others but might as well give a shot..who knows maybe out of nowhere they drop enough points for others to catch up.
1857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 09, 2022, 06:54:27 PM
‍City's winning streak cannot be endless and the match against Chelsea is, in my opinion, a "lucky" opportunity to lose points. By the way, bookmakers are only 50% confident in the victory of City, judging by the odds they offer:
1,72 - 4,00 - 4,80
If I place a bet in this match it will be something like a multi-bet that Chelsea will not lose and BTTS.

There is a fair amount of possibility that Chelsea might force City to drop some points. Title race is stiff right now and there is not much weeks left given the gap so it is a crucial match where they can pull back the gap between them and City on the table. Tuchel has beaten them in an important match - CL final and now this one is also an important one. BTTS is also a good option Manchester City have been conceding goals lately and the wing backs might create problems for the defence and the keeper.

Liverpool interested to bought 17 year old Barcelona player Gavi and Klopp really want him because Gavi can be prioritized as a replacement of Henderson or Fabinho in the future and the chance is open wide to get this player because of deadlock for extended contract between him and Barcelona even the rumours said Liverpool are willing to unlock contract clause 41 millions poundsterling and if Barcelona allowed him went to Liverpool Gavi will get high salary far to the current salary

Xavi is building Barcelona with full of young potential players and give Barca a strong future. Gavi, Pedri, Fati and lot of young players are getting opportunities and I don't think they will let him go yet. However big fee and salary might sway away things but depends how Barca thinks of Gavi like if he is the one of the crucial one to build Barca strong again. IIRC I think that Barca are currently in talks regarding new contract.

So Zielinski was in quarantine for Covid, Napoli let him play the game with Juventus regardless and now he is positive for COVID.

This is a penal violation, not only a sportive violation but since we are in Italy he will not go into prison but nothing will happen, Napoli also should risk a huge penalization in the leaderboard and event the Serie B as punishment but again nothing will happen because Italy is a joke as Country.

This calls for a serious punishment as despite all the rules and protocols in place they allowed him to play and risk other players lives as well. I am sure something will be done about this but since it is new so I think association will take time and decide but I never expected this from a team like Napoli. Were they running out of player due to illness or injuries? but still this doesn't means they have to allow playing a player who was advised to quarantine and put others in danger as well.

Arsenal have proven that they can win the previous derby which ended 3-1 to Arsenal's victory. But the problem is now they are playing at home to Tottenham where Arsenal are not very good at away match. Arsenal have lost 5 times at away match but because of their good form then they deserve to be favourites. But should Arsenal fail, it would be their 6th away loss this season from 11 games.

Good point that Arsenal are not good at home but I still think Arsenal are gonna win this one. They are in form and in the last match they were difficult to handle in their match against City. Its gonna be tough given Spurs home stats and Arsenal away stats and that's just merely stats and that could change at any point. I am gonna stay with Arsenal win.

As always, I'm sure Manchester City will extend their winning streak this season. Chelsea are not at their best and Manchester City will take advantage of this situation to win. I think both teams have chances in the match.

City are good at playing possession game and as long as they don't allow Chelsea much room I don't think Chelsea have much chance here. Still Chelsea will be all out as they know if they were to win the title they have to get some points in this match and inch closer to City and Liverpool on the table.
