The point is that Etherum is worth $ 1,590,652,810, and million of dollars are given out the miners every day. (estimated $500 000 000 worth of GPU's mining)
Monacoin (lyra2v2 ) is worth $ 2,122,648
Vertcoin (lyra2v2) is worth $ 873,020

and

are worth pennies. So even if the 1080 is the fastest card to mine lyra2v2( shitcoins) , it is slow in etherum (This is where the money is right now).


What is the profit on ETHER for the 980ti  and 970  sp?   thx

I remember trying using the commands to force P state... and each time i tried it my PC crashed just as if I has tried to overclock the mem or gpu too much....


If I get the urge, ill give it another shot....

But honestly, even in P2, my hashrates as seen on my normalization aren't that bad....   I would have to uncork the intensity settings I have set.
Yes that's right you just jarred my memory :-) ... really I have to give it a try again ...but like you said... the intensity settings may have to be changed...I think.
FYI intensity wont modify p state... in case you are thinking that...

but I have intensity backed off so my machine will still play videos/games while mining.
Yes I know... but the ccminer app for an algo sometimes needs an  -i  setting so it won't crash.

Here is something I copied and pasted from a thread for windows desktop.
I use this but with my one rig that doesn't have enough psu keeps crashing ..I have to keep the cards as is p2 state mining and p8 state at idle. Never able to oc the mem until I sli 2 psu's...It just came in the mail will try out tomorrow.

1) open cmd.exe with the admin privileges

4) nvidia-smi -ac 350X,14XX -i 0 (where 350X is that very first number printed after supported clocks-memory and 14XX one of those numbers printed after graphics


nvidia-smi -ac 3505,1455 -i 0      
 
nvidia-smi -ac 3505,1455 -i 2      


nvidia-smi -ac 350X,14XX -i 0,1,2,3,4... for multiple cards.

JaredKaragen  I noticed on github you where updating the pool and getting things related to the pool and seeing cards at there pstate.
Question is ... is there a way to get the high end nvidia cards like the 980ti  970 gtx  to " permanently " stay in the p0 state no matter what...like a crash or reboot or just idling?  Thx

Ps I know how to set the cards to the p0 state so I can overclock the memory ... but to keep them there.  Undecided
I don't understand why nvidia did this..the 750ti stays there.

you have to find the code segment where it assembles the whole launch command with path, miner name, arguments, etc.   see how it opens the miner app.... if its done from within the JSON file (which I doubt given that's not a standard modifiable variable and something an app would usually handle itself)...

As I was talking to you.. I saw the use window false and as i was learning MC I didn't understand how to use it so.
I finally found it... If we didn't talk about it and I didn't post that part of my file I wouldn't have found it.

I see... yeah... Im never going to add any API to the batch... that would be a full blown application... but im glad you found the section...

It doesn't have the ability you see.  They only have the arguements for the miner editable, the rest is hardcoded into the application.   Out of my control.
I think the call is from inside MC my json file. But I thought there was a way to just monitor ccminer running in a separate window as it looks when running it normally. Forget about MC ok  now we have cmd ccminer running ... how to do it with one window running it and one cmd window not running but monitoring it and looking exactly the same?

You're talking about adding new features to MC, but you can get what you want with the JK script.
You can remove /min from all the start commands and get a normal window, or you can leave /min
and restore the minimized window anytime you want to monitor.

correct, because from as I understand it, minercontrol launches the miner process and handles it inside it's program container....   I don't think you can get it to display the active output like you want.  You might want to talk to them in the minercontrol thread... they would probably know a lot more than I how their app handles it....

I think the problem is minercontrol wants to be able to control the app, and you would have to modify minercontrol to not launch the app in the background...  it may even be launching the miner as a child process....

So I have never used MC before...  but im guessing that's how its been working... so if that's the case my batch is only really a replacement for MC, not a supplement.... But Ill do what I can to help.

as a batch called ccminer.bat in the ccminer directory and see if you can point minercontrol to launch that batch file..

If you can get MC to launch that batch file, it should theoretically show you the command string MC is issuing to the miner....  maybe we can intercept or inject the correct commands that will get you the result you want using MC....
Ok thx I not able to make a good explanation. Windows 8.1 MC can do anything. But I don't know the commands on opening up a cmd window with it.

my batch file launches each miner as if you launched it from a separate command...  they are just all minimized on the taskbar....  Or am I mistaking what you are trying to do...

API should be accessible... but default port is not going to be the same between apps as they will all fight for the same port at the same time.  I haven't added a specific API port flag per algo.....  you can do this at the end of each algo in the batch after the password if you so desire; using the appropriate flag/setting just like you would intensity from the command line.  Since I don't monitor via API;  I didn't think of it being an issue.

*edit*  got un-lazy.  Check batch script for update.  Added a small retro touch as well.
