1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: February 21, 2023, 11:07:12 PM
You are talking exactly the way I thought about this game, too. I can openly admit that I took on a bet against my friend and he offered me some amazing odds when I bet that Liverpool is going to win with 2+ goals and Frankfurt is not going to lose. When someone offers you great odds you start talking yourself into it literally! Cheesy
On like you, I would want to talk myself out frm taking the bet, not except I've got that assurance from my guts and the teams to which am supporting are the better side in that fixture. Being offer an outrageous odd would immediately make me ask myself; what is it that he knows and I don't know? Is there a top man on the bench, perhaps suspened or have been injured during the training? Questions such as these would cloud my mind and in a way, am likely not going to take the bet. Rather, I'll enjoy the game by just watching and not having to favour any team.

Quote
After 15 minutes it was 2:0 for Liverpool and I sent him some smileys and said "already shitting your pants?" Cheesy haha, funny anecdote.
Definitely something anyone would do but, against Real Madrid in the UCL.. Real Madrid is the UCL and they've had a come back at the least possible time with a big team to get back into the league. I wouldn't let my adrenalin get the better of me should I bet against Real Madrid.
1842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 20, 2023, 11:24:39 PM
Chelsea is not in good form, I know it's an interesting match to watch, because of course people will bet on tottenham, but I think Chelsea can surprise Tottenham in the game, I'm afraid the result will be a draw so I don't think I will bet on this match later, on paper Tottenham should be able to get full points against Chelsea
Chelsea is most likely not that sort of team to come up with any surprises at the moment, not minding there interesting game play so far, they've always found there way to either lose or draw. There game against Spurs would he some real test of patience for the Chelsea board on G. Potter. Tottenham ain't no bad team but, Chelsea have got to show something in points against Tottenham given the fact that, they've not been able to record any win in a long time.

Surprisingly Arsenal have been top of headlines this season with an impressive performance, I have to admit that I didn't expect this season to be the big break for Arsenal. At this point, Arsenal have to maintain top form and stay consistent because Manchester United and Manchester City are behind and waiting for opportunity to overtake them and take the position at the top of the table.
Manchester City might he the team behind Arsenal at the moment but there inconsistency means, Arsenal haven't hot much to fear. If it were to Manchester United, it would have been more of a different story. Most important thing to do now is to hold the league and maybe when G. Jesus returns for Arsenal, there shot at the league would be unquestionable.
1843  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: February 20, 2023, 10:51:41 PM
You might want to pay more attention to your write up or perhaps the situation in Nigeria got you so emotion to just type and not do a recheck.

Apparently, Nigerians have hot a local board now and you might want to move this thread over there. There is a lot on motion of the on going activities with the currency, fuel scarcity and others going in the local board already. Hope this finds its way there too as you seem to be speaking to the Nigerian people already. Although, its not going to be something strange anymore. There have been lots of talks already.

If you get an unsolicited message, it's bag to avoid it than to try to humour the sender. You could end up downloading a malware or getting outsmarted.
That's exactly where the risk lies. In your bid to just follow through because, you feel you've got no further use for the device in following through any important or financial stuff @OP, i would say you never can be too sure. So long as you ain't dumping the device just yet, you just might end up following through to download some malware and have some important stuff put in place and the thing is, these scammers are always there, lucking in the corners.
You could imagine merely accessing your telegram after a long absence and they are unto you. The same would apply in the event of a malware.
At times, don't play around, just move past it.
1845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantage and disadvantage of cryptocurrency on: February 20, 2023, 09:59:15 PM
Advantages of Cryptocurrency;
*it gives you choice
* it gives you money
* it gives you knowledge of trading
* it gives you risks management attitude
* exposure, links you to the world

Disadvantages;
* it can be time consuming
* the losses are irreversible
* it prone to scammers
* its discouraged seeking further career
* it can cause shocks and death

Just like you've stated, "it's your little knowledge" as a newbie. Else, the points you've made doesn't mean much in the sense you presented them.
* It gives you choice,
Well, what choice is that. You've always got a choice in all you do. To invest in cryptocurrency or not, to look towards other fields of an investment for an opportunity. To invest wisely or not. You've always got a choice regardless of cryptocurrency.
* It gives you money,
I can say it doesn't give you money. The skill you master, offer and render to someone is what pays you or gives you money. Perhaps your investments too and not necessarily cryptos. Cryptos is just another currency for payments.
* It gives you knowledge of trading.
Well, goodluck with that. We've got several users on the forum and off the forum yet, they've got no clue of trading. You've got to study trading to get these ideas at least. It doesn't matter how basic you limit your studies to.

Let me just hang it there for the advantages.

On disadvantages;
* Time consuming,
In fact, this is the opposite as, transactions could be done across the working seconds or minutes.
* loses are irreversible,
That's in the event that you get scammed or you sent your coin to a wrong address and more of those.
* It discourages seeking other careers,
Really?!!!

I'll end here too. You need a lot more reading at OP. Nice trying!
1846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Everyone Eventually Buys at the Price they Deserve on: February 20, 2023, 09:36:31 PM
I like the way your title of your thread is coined and how it's highlighted in the last statement of your the OP (Buying at a price they deserve). You know, if they @Your friends, hand invested as immediate as you urge them to, they would have seen little value still in bitcoin and view it for some scheme or a thing for the while. They even won't have valued the profits they would have made since, they've got no course for regrets.
Now, with the opportunity to have been left hanging and there minds set on what could have been gained which is now lost with the market, they would better understand the advantages of taking chances when it's best.

Well, the good news remains that, no time is too late to invest. Your plans for your investment is what makes you end in profit or not. If you've got the time @OP, you could as well guide them but, don't let yourself be pushed.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 19, 2023, 10:29:07 PM
Why do people have so? much confidence in arsenal now when they recovered their position out of luck because of the inability of Manchester city to seal their occupation of the first spot position losing their last match was a big fall for MManchester city.

Every team has a bad day so don't be surprised when in one match they lose even when fighting a weaker team  as happened to Arsenal and Manchester City
In this case I see Arsenal more fortunate they only lost the standings for a few days before taking over, but of course Arsenal cannot continue to depend on luck

Very fortunate if you asked and they got to extend there point gap against Manchester City with City not been able to win there game.
Arsenal yesterday would have felt very terrible of themselves should they have lost or even drew Aston Villa.
Speaking of Aston Villa, are you guys taking notes of the form of P. Coutinho, he's gradually crawling back into the play as he was when he played for Liverpool. That's what am seeing and I think he needs more playing time than his been given.

Arsenal did good to have won yesterday. After the P. Coutinho goal, my Arsenal fan friends were already lost in thoughts and feeling disappointed but, the guys on the pitch understood what needs be done and made it happen. Lots of gratitude owed to Zinchenko and E. Martinez for rekindling the spirit and G. Martinelli ensured it. It was indeed a close one!
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 19, 2023, 09:47:43 PM
Today's match belongs to Barcelona they dominate from all sides obviously this is an easy match, this is Barcelona  7th victory in LaLiga in a row
It's a game where you expect Barcelona to take there chnaces at the league like theh and doing right now. To stay up and be 8 points clear of Real Madrid. There quick sucession goals from the first half seems to have sealed the deal for them but, we don't have to be excited just yet, Cadiz is becoming increasingly threatening by the minute although, the Barcelona side have been able to return with some quick recovery each time they are subjected to pressure. Tar Stegan have been brave still, coming out to clear the ball from his box and successfully having the tip of his fingers on sme on target balls to keep it out.
Lewandowski has had his goal as I hoped and that's good for me, he could have scored a second with a lopped ball over the goalkeeper from Gavi's headed pass.
With 2 minutes and extra time to seal the deal, the job is almost done.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 19, 2023, 08:01:11 PM

.

Barca don't have to worry about Real yet, points difference is still 5 even if they lose this game. But I expect them to win the game with at least 2 goals margin. Raphinha is in subs today, Fati will start. Ferran has to be more productive in attack. Lewa is the biggest weapon of Barca and I expect him to score at least one goal today.
Perhaps they don't but as it is, a lose now means thy don't get to lose any future match as Real Madrid would be looking towards keeping up with the pace in winning there fixtures to take over the league when opportuned. 5 points isn't much, that's a lose and 2 draws or 2 loses and they are done but, loosing to Cadiz at Camp Nou today is something that would be out of the expected.
I hope to see some guys from R. Lewandowski in the Camp Nou tonight.

Atletico Madrid did just to there games today to the delight of the fans and Diego Simeone. Anthoine Griezmann was phenomenal during the game although, there were a few set piece he could have perfected for Memphis Depay which I felt wasn't well done. In the end, they got there 3 points and that's what matters.
1850  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wike not supporting Atiku on: February 19, 2023, 07:48:21 PM

Wike and Atiku issue no get anything to do with Obi. Both Atiku and Obi at the moment na candidates and as e be now cef, the election dey between them both than Tinubu with the plenty drama way don play out both with the APC led government following previous administration and the comic state of Tinubu. The guy no dey disappoint. The only matter for Tinubu to get any chnace na if e fit rig am and the support of en people for that side. For this side, e no get many supporters from my evaluation.

Mean while, I know say, Wike na man way get body for en people but, that na only if en fit chop en own wella . En annoyance no go dey far from watin them do am for PDP primaries, them make am realise the game they play and the importance of brotherhood. That na something way en no go forget or forgive, na why en dey act the way e dey act. Last last, supporting Atiku no bringbthe government close to Rivers people or the south so, why that way.

Wike supporting Tinubu go come out of alignment way e don do with Tinubu. Na just wayin I dey think for head like this be that and to show say na the game they play, we see how e carry support for Obi sell sim, na them life be that, game of interest. If e no get watin to gain, e no go move as e dey move. Abeg, support who dey your mind and leave there directives, th no go suffer watin you go suffer.
1851  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 7 days to Election... Will scarcity of new naira notes affect election?? on: February 19, 2023, 07:24:55 PM
Negatively the scarcity of new naira notes fit make voters violent on election Day because as e stands Nigerians are hungry and e get waiting oyibo people dey talk say HUNGRY MAN NA ANGRY MAN. And Nigerians fit still leave the election, them fit no come out come vote because na who done eat dey get strength to vote, so this cashless policy na good thing and bad thing too for our country naija.
I no dey see am like that shah. Instead of the scarcity to bring about violence, e go result in our naija people release the effects of being a partisan and voting based on say, them don cheapen you the least. This na the great suffering and as we dey weight on our mind like this, na that weight we go carry dey thumb print who we feel say, go make the suffering end. Na just say, make the vote count and e be like the Buhari led government wan use that one close office for us, a credible election. We go soon see how e go play out shah.

The effect way me I for reason na in terms of transportation of people to there various pulling unit. Na that one be matter but, determined Nigerians go always see am through. Make we dey sharpen our voters card and hopefully, this Elon network go be watin them go use make we no dey hear error.

I am especially curious what punishment Manchester City will receive in the competition. Would they really get a lot of points deducted? That would have major consequences in the battle for the championship. Then Arsenal is actually already 90% champion due to the big lead over United. And United recorded another fine victory today without conceding a goal. It is a pity that United have been very sloppy at the start of the competition. Newcastle United have sunk a bit but are still having a great season.
On Manchester City's punishment, am sure they don't want any of those at the moment as it would greatly affect the team. Even the least which is point deduction would be so bad as it could see them away from the top four and Pep out. It's very hard to accept for fgese guys, haven't put in all there efforts and see it wasted by the board.

Manchester United today just showed how in control they ca be about there games. I was watching and was wondering what were they doing in the first half, they seemed not lik the Manchester United I had watched in other games but, it looked like a grand plan all along. Ten Hag has definitely has his plans going for him and to the joy of the fans, it gives them the thrills of the Ferguson era. Even with them not looking to winning the EPL trophy. Another 3 points for them and a clean sheet too.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 18, 2023, 11:56:33 PM
Manchester United are going to have a home game against Leicester tomorrow. I see a decent win for the Red Devils at the end despite their not being able to beat Leicester in Old Trafford in their last two meets. This season things are going on really good for the Red Devils. Erik ten Hag has improved his chemistry with the team a lot and they are even in the title race technically.

They need to keep winning to be able to maintain the same point gap with Arsenal at least. Leicester have a really good morale after the huge 4-1 win over Tottenham. But I think they won't be able to steal any point from Manchester United here.
Manchester United vs Leicester City, it probably might be a decent win for Manchester United but, its not going to be one that would come easily. Leicester City seems to have picked up form lately, they've had there rhythm going at there games and Kelechi Iheanacho has been superb. Clearly having his best time right now and so is M. Rashford and the determination of Bruno Fernández for Manchester United to make tomorrow so watch.

For the games today...
Can Chelsea be any less disappointing?
They've clearly got what they need and what it takes to have a turn around towards winning ways but, they don't seem to be coming any close. It ain't looking like a matter of hard luck anymore but, the tactics of G. Potter isn't just good enough for a big team. He doesn't seem to know what to do or how to manage a big team like Chelsea.
1854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 18, 2023, 11:48:07 PM
It was definitely a hard-fought win for Real Madrid despite the final score's being 2-0.
You know, Real Madrid ought to have sealed that game in a win far way before they did but, they just were unable to convert the chnaces they got. Vini Jnr wasn't at his best today, really. He had several one on one chances with the goalkeeper and his choices of trying to go round the goalkeeper ends him right in the arms of the goalkeeper. I felt disappointed at him for the cjnaces he just couldn't convert and wondered why he didn't just take the short at goal upon receiving the pass! The only time he tried that from the Alvaro assist, it went in the net but, was ruled out for an offside.
How did that offside come about anyway... There surely was a sta ding goalkeeper and an Osasuna defender right ahead of Alvaro. What's the rule I am missing or am I not getting my analysis right?
1855  Other / Meta / Re: How to send merit? on: February 17, 2023, 12:14:11 PM
I think there is nothing more to add here @OP. We hope to see you send some of them 3.5smerits you've got but for now,
You should move this thread over to beginners and help or even archive after haven't got all these directives.

If you don't know how to move a thread,
Look at the bottom left of your screen and you would notice a lock/move icon. Click and following the directives in selecting a board then authorise the move. This isn't a typical meta thread!
1856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin a coin perfect for a society on: February 17, 2023, 11:50:14 AM
I also realised that for Bitcoin to remain relevant it need to be recognised by the society not even the government; if it must serve as a legal tender and a global store of value.
I don't very much agree with disregarding the government influence on this. Bitcoin is very much independent but still, government has certan degree of influence on the currency as to its acceptance and being widespread. One of the major factors to have inhibited the currency today is the government and if the parts are changed, you would see it bloom.
Hedging it only on society alone helps but, only if the government allows. What if the government makes it a criminal offence.  More of what we have now is, not having to recognise it but, making it a criminal offence that ca result in serious jail times, youvwould make bitcoin enthusiast skeptical and being skeptical on how you use your money is what we don't want. Government has a role, not so vital but,, just acknowledgement is good enough.
1857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian world order on: February 17, 2023, 10:40:04 AM
Imagine being so beyond time and still believe in a empire. Free humans neither bow down to a emperor, party, club-boss, doctrina, czar, tycoon....or be lead by any other cult figure.
That's just the point. We are way past eras of colonisation or subduing a people by waging wars. That savagery has gone with the 20th century and we've been more better since then, looking out for civilised means to archiving a goal.
I can try to see reasons why a nation would wage war when peaceful resolutions isn't reached in order to protect its borders from invasion but, not for the purpose of editing the maps and sourcing for resources.

Talking about slavery and a people, I think Africa ought to say the most here but no, it's history and trying to do anything other than restitution and forging ahead would be issues of course, aggression and retaliation. We don't need these in our world today.
1858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: February 16, 2023, 10:45:19 PM
Also, a penalty is missing at the last minute.

No penalty, WFT
Clearly, a typical WTF situation!
The referee had to go over to the VAR and took some real look at the situation but still didn't give the penalty and I still don't understand up to this moment how that decision came out. I think he was suggesting a pushing and I don't see any serious pushing going on except for a contest for the ball as its normal for crossed balls within the box, a header and a good save. Yeah, Clearly a good save because, it was on target and that little handling of the ball sent it off the cross bar. Juventus ought to have been given that but, i think the referee just didn't wat to give a penalty with just minutes to the final whistle and that's just wrong.
Juventus was dominant all through the game and controlled the game for most of it, Chiesa had 2  balls to the wood work with several other attempts and the referee should have rewarded there effort to seal the game in a win.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 16, 2023, 10:38:30 PM
I'm quite below in the leaderboard due to playing this game for the first time this year. However I think I will be one of the candidates for the championship if there is an FPL pool next season. This week I got very close to becoming the player of the week for the first time but I failed. I added Felix into my squad. I think he has a potential that can bring many points despite Chelsea's bad performance.
I'm playing for the second time (last time I did much worse than you). However, I clearly understand that I am already addicted to this game ... so I will do my best to launch a fantasy pool next year (and also try to increase the prize pool at least 4 times).  Tongue
You can see how I used all of my chips a few weeks into the season because I had no idea how they worked at the time; this season is a learning experience for me; I want to improve and be ready for the exciting season ahead.

4x times the initial prize Does this mean we'll have to pay twice the initial signup fees? Let's go!!! I wish you could increase the prize positions to the top 10 next season.  Grin

Certainly my first time and I do believe, I've missed a chance of being competitive and an amazing game. Like, I've seen the league played several times on the forum, at sme point while I was yet to understand, I tried commenting in a fantasy thread, I think that was with Sportsbet.io and had my comment deleted, lol... I understood a thing or 2 then and when given the opportunity because, I never really thought of this one, I jumped in.

Now, I understand a lot from the game now and have made some costly mistakes that I wish reverend stil. Some of you guys are real pros and aside from how you form your teams, there are tricks to GW that I keep noticing from good point earners. Next season, its going yo be real competitive out here for sure.
1860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 16, 2023, 10:26:32 PM
This situation has forced many into financial hardship and the unavailability of financial institutions and services, in fact in some countries a lot of financial crisis is currently being experienced.

With most depositors no longer have access to their money through to the high centralization of the financial institutions leaving all the power over their finances in the hand of the central banks.

This crisis has forced many to start looking for an alternative way to save the money, and bitcoin is the best store of value at this point, with Bitcoin,
Having bitcoin for a store of value is one thing as it serves as a form of investment but, not so much for a currency and don't really stand out in the absence of financial institutions as its yet to be used globally or even locally for a means of exchange by the various merchants that are operational in a region.
You still very much need financial institutions to keep up with the task of having some acceptable currency for a legal tender within your jurisdiction.

Bitcoin could make l8fe a lot easier with the fact that, you get to stay off the radar of having your accounts frozen, limited withdrawals and more controls by creating limits. Other than these, you'll still need financial institutions to keep the fiat in circulation at the time.
