1841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 17, 2023, 09:27:17 AM
Investing much time and money into gambling doesn't make us addicts. Successful gamblers have a life outside gambling; family, friend etc. They have fun times when  they're not gambling. An addicted player, gives all to gambling and forfeits any other recreation that is not gambling. Their life revolves on gambling and they stake anything just to gamble. Such behaviour doesn't guarantee winning, a proof of success in gambling. If a person gives their all into gambling and doesn't win they're not successful, while being addicted to gamble. Hence if a person dedicates specific time on gambling and wins often, due to their extensive techniques of how gambing works. I'd add the person as a successful gambler. On the both sides, if a person is addicted and wins big too, they're successful gamblers. Because their addiction in gambling didn't end in playing games, but in devising methods that works for them. So, categorizing them, we can say that not all successful gamblers are addicts, same way not all addicts are successful gamblers. Even, a good percentage of successful gamblers play for fun.
The moment we understand the principles of gambling, the period we start earning enormously from the system. We have nothing to worry about if we continue to gamble and earn profits from the space. Addiction can not be permanently eliminated but it can be reduced with temporary techniques. It's mostly complicated in the space and it takes only consistency and hardwork to determine the level of success and profitability. Successful gamblers are often seen as gambling addicts. There's more of these gamblers deal with in the system, making sure that there's full backup strategies.

In the eyes of many they're seen as addicts, but in addition to what slow death said, at the cost of practicing or analyzing how the system works, time is required. And when a person does give out lots of time to an activity, he can be seen as an addict. But, these people are tagged professional gamblers, meaning gambling is like a work to them, hence if anybody who works on something is categorized to be addicted to their jobs we may be missing out on the definition of the word addiction. Addiction is referred to as a brain disorder and such a person may not think straight again, even while gambling. Unlike the professionals, they're giving out multiple energy and time to provide the best results for themselves. Which the activities, rewards them with much winnings and healthy gambling lifestyle. They know what it means to be addicted and can advise an addicted player on ways to skip gambling addiction. It's clear we see them playing games everyday, all the time. Yet it doesn't stop them from going for a month vacation without gambling. I think that makes the difference.
1842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: September 17, 2023, 09:07:58 AM
Limiting oneself is crucial for both life and gambling. As you are aware, pushing oneself too far can be risky; its a slippery slope. To begin with, the first thing that will enable you to play correctly is your inherent self-awareness. Recall that the purpose of a game should be enjoyment, not guilt trips. A tight budget and frequent breaks are two more effective strategies for maintaining the right balance between leisure and responsibility.

We have to do things with moderation no matter the way they appears so interesting and amazing to you, the fantasy we get in gambling should be dealth and handle with care so that it does not get over on us that we begin to misbehave on how we gamble and loose concentration, if we are gambling, just as you've said, we need to have the interest of our own life put in consideration and then the gambling we are doing to follow suite, gambling is not to harm or leave us vulnerable to making disadvantages, but we allow those things manifest due to our own careless attitude towards gambling responsibly.

Yeah, gambling requires constant mental observation. If a person notice any unusual behavior in their gambling habits, they have to follow Op's advise, atleast take a break. To some extent gamblers don't want to understand or obey the law of diminishing return. Many addicted gamblers today, must have made lots of profits through gambling, and during the period of winning they took gambling activity more seriously, allocating extra money and time into it. When they stop winning, start losing more money and time, such players fail to pause it. The behavior like during the winning times reoccurs in times of losses, increasing the player's frustration, because s/he doesn't win anymore yet plays more.

Hence, if a player pays close attention to their gambling lifestyle and the economy of their life, they can differentiate between when they weren't gambling and now that they gamble. If the development is poor; short of funds, repulsive gambling and questionable attitudes. A sensible player, can begin to cut short on the time and money spent in gambling, and increase their chances of staying clear from gambling addiction.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 17, 2023, 08:37:06 AM
I forgot to say earlier that I think there are a lot of tax efficient gamblers on this forum because they don't declare any of their crypto bets, and I would be the vast majority of them don't get caught. Someone playing from regulated Europe or from countries where gambling is prohibited with vpn and/or Tor to get past the blockades and play in unlicensed crypto sites or licenses from places like Curacao is not going to shoot himself in the foot by declaring a prohibited activity to their country's treasury.

This is risky in some countries, and can be considered tax evasion. If unfortunate, the player can in a day get unlucky twice, if caught by the casino, he'll lose his earnings and as well face the Government. There are other means of avoiding the tax, like compiling a good number of losses amounting to less winning amounts when checked alongside your winnings. Since smaller amounts don't get taxed. I read on quora a player that gets slips of losses from different players and submit as their own losses, thereby, deducing the amount of tax expected to be paid for winning. But, for how long will that be? any player that wins big may not continue to avoid paying taxes.

I think it makes sense if casinos are the ones paying the government, I believe that's what they are doing presently, it's why they are allowed to run their business after they are registered, tax on casinos itself makes sense than tax on gamblers jackpot, anyway, I am not from any of these countries so I will never know.

In some countries, the casino deducts the tax from the winning of the player, which is then forwarded to the government and the player assigned proof of payment. The  tax on gamblers who win big, are also seen as income, used by the government to maintain the country. That's why different countries differ in terms of gambling winnings, in some countries it's not required for a gambler to pay tax for being lucky.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: September 17, 2023, 07:44:16 AM
If this should be implemented will it affect bitcointalk casinos? As we all know most established and new casinos come to bitcointalk to launch their ANN thread and carry out signature promotion campaigns which can be regarded as ads in a sense. If ads should be banned will their promotion in Bitcointalk also end?

It's been a few months already since the news and so far nothing changed here on the forum. The ban seems to be focused on Australia and wasn't picked up by other countries. In my country I haven't heard about any political movement that wants to ban gambling advertising. When I look on all the ads we have over here it would be crazy to not allow gambling ads, but then all the other things. The most common ads I notice are either for alcohol or cigarettes. The huge hype about e-cigarettes and vapes can be seen on billboards on every big corner. It would be unfair to ban on specific industry and allow everything else. The question is also how such a law could be enforced if ads are only displayed online. Banning something in Australia should have no real impact for the majority of users here on the forum.

The Australian government is concerned about her underage citizens, who venture into gambling. I've read, years ago, about an Australian kid who committed suicide because he wasn't able to pay up loans he took for gambling purpose; he got addicted. Similar to other citizens, both adults, commit suicide after taking multiple loans. So, the government, from the article OP shared, can enforce the no gambling ads on stadiums during football matches. It could help, but no accurate measures can solve such problem. The high rate of gambling ads outside the internet is too high, gambling houses exist almost in every street, according to locations. Hence, parental control for kids with phones, reduces or won't help. Restricting kids through parental control, is like stopping the flow of water with a mud. Adolescents are seen hovering the streets like a helicopter and they're exposed to these gambling houses, they see it in real life, not online. They see close relatives, who participate in gambling activities. By stopping online gambling ads and leaving behind offline gambling houses or casinos to operate, the Australian government won't achieve her goals. The best alternative, is by encouraging parents to improve moral instructions on their underage children, not to venture into gambling. If they see casinos houses as kids, they can develop interest as adults. I read some responses about parental control, it can work for some kids, not all kids can be restricted from gambling through parental control.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Gambling Strategies on: September 15, 2023, 11:29:33 AM
1. Set your bet unit and stick to it

This is a valid gambling advise, not a strategy. This helps us to manage our gambling duration, by maintaining the daily limits. Atleast playing for 5 days is better than staking all the bank rolls meant for 5 days in one day. Lack of gambling limitations is actually a waste of gambling budget and has some disadvantages on the gambler, but doesn't guarantee winning. It extends the fun, not the fund for inexperienced players, who have no winning strategy. About gambling strategy, I'd say that nobody shares what works in gambling. It's a personal encounter and players or top players may not be able to explain how they actually do it. Most times what others refer as gambling strategy doesn't work for the people who utilize it. The case of, some succeeds and others fail using similar strategy. What works for player A is different for B. Experience, observation and machine malfunctioning can be classified as the best strategy in gambling. Playing with a bad slot machine can improve our wins because it'll be easier to observe how it works. Then milk it for a long time.
1846  Economy / Economics / Re: Economics is not fulfilling its true potential as a science on: September 15, 2023, 11:05:42 AM
So how do these economists stop economic meltdown when people don't listen to them or take them seriously?

Valid points, but things do not just begin, something led to why the Government doesn't listen to them. If after their warnings, the economic meltdown occurs, and the Government runs to them for solution, they don't come up with great solutions. Such things can as well demoralize the Government from adhering to their further warnings and advise. If they worked effectively to repair the underlying problems, which the Government or banks may need their assistance, a lot complaints about the less important theories.

Another thing is Economics is not a pure science. The theories don't give the same result everywhere at all times.
Chorine turns litmus paper white anywhere, but an economic theory needs certain factors to give certain results.
An economic or financial theory or system that worked in an Urban area might not work in a rural area.
yeah, that's right, the only solution about the diversity of economic behavior according to locations, is by understanding the economic data of different zones, then use them to tackle financial problem that can arise in future. It all begins with making and enforcing the right decision.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 15, 2023, 10:49:15 AM
Unfortunately, each gambler will have this addictive mindset when they start to gamble more often and win. Their minds will focus on achieving victory, which is not easy. Maybe we can say that successful gamblers are addicts, but we also have to remember that successful gamblers can have healthier thoughts than most gamblers. Successful gamblers, even though they are addicted, can still control their addiction well and will even use their abilities to avoid excessive gambling addiction. The system in the casino is just a system that will give us a win or loss so everything will depend on us as gamblers. If we want to avoid losing a lot, we have to know when we should stop and not, based on how many wins we have to achieve, before we stop gambling.

What do you think about economists, who study the theories of economics and brag about being vast in the study of economics, yet doesn't help or contribute sufficiently to control or stop world economic meltdown?
The world is complex and ever-dynamic. I agree that some of these old economic theories can be applied to solve some present economic problems but cannot handle all of them. New challenges should be handled creatively and innovatively based on the peculiarity of such problems. The problem with economists is that they want to apply the same economic principle to a new problem expecting a positive result.

If you check the history of most of these economic meltdowns that have occurred over the years you will discover that greed is behind more of them. Some of these major banks went bankrupt because of the financial recklessness of the managers. Some of them issued unsecured loans to businesses they have a personal interest in. An example is the economic problem in China which is caused by the slump of the real estate industry. The problem started when banks were giving loans recklessly to real estate companies without considering the consequences. I will be right if I say economists are the problem and they also claim to be the solution. This is why they will always reject Bitcoin because it will reduce the extent of their influence and malpractice.
Like the story, you'll notice how Wriston trusted the people he lent money and didn't worry about the possibility of loan defaults. Time and problems are different, similarly, solutions should be unique according to the current problem. Optimizing the old theories to fit their personal greed, is a waste of resources, which effect affects the society. The less privilege will suffer more and companies will see losses because the allocated loans are not utilized proficiently to yield returns to the bank. The intriguing aspect of it, is that these economists occupy the top of financial institutions. And all these happen at their watch, yet they can't solve the problem they create. Contrarily, similar things happen in cryptocurrency projects, exchanges and some defi projects lend huge amount to different start ups whose management isn't capable or eligible to meet up the standard of replenishing the borrowed funds. Thereby causing a crash on the lending project, and affecting other customers and businesses linked to the Lending project.
1849  Economy / Economics / Economics is not fulfilling its true potential as a science on: September 15, 2023, 06:32:22 AM
There have been lots of reactions about the role of economists to the recent world financial crisis; inflation, food hike, increase of poverty rate etc. I thought about it, when I was reading this story of John Reed as Citicorp CEO from the book "Origin of Wealth", that economists do not efficiently represent the world in times of economic crisis. You can read the story to better understand the thread;

Quote
"In 1970, Citicorp, along with other major American bank had lent aggressively to the government of developing countries, in particular to those in latin America. Reed’s predecessor, Walter Wriston, had proclaimed that such lending was “safe banking” be soverign government did not default on their debts. Wriston was proved badly wrong. When in August 1982 the Mexican government was unable to roll over its massive debt This set of a chain of event that resulted global financial crisis. The next several years saw widespread defaults, currency devaluation, and economic collapse in several countries. When the dust settled, millions of poor people found themselves poorer and banks found that $300 billion had evaporated from their balance sheet. Citicorp alone lost $1billion in a year and was sitting on 13billion in bad debts".

Few questions from Reed

Reed wanted to know how it happened? how the crisis had happened? and how it could be prevailed from happening again?  He consulted several experts, involving leading economists from Academic, Wall Street and government. Reed himself was well versed in economics from his student days at MIT. Yet the economists had little new or useful to say about the crisis. In fact reed believed that their recommendation during the crisis had been dead wrong.

Reed wanted a new way of doing things in economics, the old methods doesn't contribute to positive changes.

think of it, a high number of the ideas of the industry or fields are more than 100 years old. Then the economics formal theory and mathematical theory are now handicapped by impractical assumptions or directly contradicted by real world data.

What do you think about economists, who study the theories of economics and brag about being vast in the study of economics, yet doesn't help or contribute sufficiently to control or stop world economic meltdown?
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 13, 2023, 08:36:02 PM
Even though you are not familiar with real casinos as you are playing with online ones, you can play with the real ones because they almost the same though there is slide difference. Yes slot machines game in online are different from the real ones but even at that, there similarities so if you are good in the online casino they there is possibility that you can play the offline games. But you can not buy free spin, there are free games but there are limited and not like online casinos. The difference between the two is not much. offline slot machines plays with the coins, or currency slot to it and there is no bonus in it unless the casino owner give you free game to play(maybe it is the place I played the game) and there is a bonus in online game.

Yeah, offline casinos may not have free spins, but they offer comps to players who belong to their slot clubs. These offers have different benefits like free hotel rooms, free food and drinks for the gamblers. And you do not need to be a high wager to join the slot club. The online casino free spin can also be classified as a comp for online players. But, the online casino is getting very famous and lots of people stake games online instead of offline, because of some disadvantages on the offline casino. Money won offline is mostly paid in cash, if a player wins big it'll be discouraging to go home especially at night with such a huge amount. However an online player may not adapt easily with some of the offline games. Although the online casino have live games that's more like the offline casino, but we are not sure if we are indeed playing with humans. Online casino is for people to play at home and it doesn't stop a player from moving out to play games offline. Both are fun, depending on the goal of the player.
1851  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to configure an Altruistic watchtower on: September 13, 2023, 08:19:30 PM
Out of curiosity, do we have information on how often watchtowers are used or how often there occur cheating attempts in the lightning network?  And how much does one pay for a watchtower?  Is there a market?  I would not put much trust on someone who is running this altruistically.

The altruistic watchtower doesn't require a person offering them to you, like the reward watchtower. Altruist watchtower can be configured privately for your personal usage. The recent LND version made provision for watchtower. So, you may not need to trust anybody, just follow the process above to set up one and aswell decide to share it with others if you wish.
1852  Bitcoin / Wallet software / How to configure an Altruistic watchtower on: September 13, 2023, 01:14:37 PM
Watchtower is an interesting or important tool/feature in the lightning network, which feature protects our funds from malicious peers. And penalize them, for breaching the channel, by adding the attacker's funds to the innocent client's balance. For a watchtower to successfully stop an attacker, it'll have to stay online always. Such watchtower takes no cut for saving your funds, it can be set up on a different location to watch on your main node.

This thread contains the configuration settings, safety measures and few resources that helps with the configuration of a watchtower. Setting up a watchtower is simple provided that the user has LND recent version installed.

Before configuring a watchtower the LND should be compile on the watchtowerrpc to enable watchtower accessed via grpc or incli.

The command that activates a watchtower is
Code:
watchtower.active=1

Then name the interfaces to listen on for watchtower clients. Attach one listening address per line. The default port for watchtower is 9911 and can be changed to any port with
Code:
watchtower.listen=0.0.0.0:PORT
in the config file e.g:
Code:
 watchtower.listen=0.0.0.0:9912

Specify the external IP address for the watch tower, which can expose the URI of the watchtower via WatchtowerRPC.Getinfo or incli tower info. This setting doesn't make any changes to the behavior of your watchtower. It only fetch more info about the watchtower URIs; whether it's clearnet or TOR. E.g

Code:
$  lncli tower info
        ...
        "uris": [
                "03281d603b2c5e19b8893a484eb938d7377179a9ef1a6bca4c0bcbbfc291657b63@1.2.3.4:9911"
        ]

This can be shared with watchtower clients or node to be monitored, so that they can connect to your watchtower. Giving out the URIs to people online can expose the exact location of your watchtower, for privacy purposes TOR is encouraged.
Note: If you are using a watchtower, when the network is in a congested mempool state, it's recommended to set the "wtclient.sweepfee-rate="(default is 10sats) in the lnd.conf.

Watchtower has a hidden TOR service, that can be activated using
Code:
$  lnd --tor.active --tor.v3 --watchtower.active

When Incli tower info is queried again, it'll fetch the tor URI like below

Code:
$  lncli tower info
...
"uris": [
        "03281d603b2c5e19b8893a484eb938d7377179a9ef1a6bca4c0bcbbfc291657b63@bn2kxggzjysvsd5o3uqe4h7655u7v2ydhxzy7ea2fx26duaixlwuguad.onion:9911"
]

NOTE: The tor URIs can only be accessed via Tor, unless a node is set to be hybrid; support both clear net and Tor connections, using
Code:
Tor.skip-proxy-for-clearnet-targets=1
read more about Tor configuration

Configuring the tower's data directory
is relevant for people that wants to move the database to a separate volume with more storage. This can be done using the watchtower.towerdir= configuration option. Additionally, the entire set of watch tower configuration option can be found using lnd -h

Since it's a self custody watchtower, it's very crucial the watchtower follows these guides:

  • Endeavor that your node is completely efficient to work as a watchtower, if it often goes offline, it'll cause more harm to your LND
  • If your Tor network or connection is not efficient it's better to use a clearnet

A watchtower with multiple downtime or bad Tor connect can cause enormous backlog in LND, heavily loading the memory, and keeps trying to connect. Sometimes a LND can malfunction or need restarting if the watchtower keeps going offline. What will be the essence of running a watchtower, if instead of watching over your node, you now watch over the LND checking for offline watchtower.

(a) to build wealth, you need to own assets an not liabilities

(b) to build wealth,never put all your eggs in one basket. Always diversify your investment portfolio.
(a) Not entirely correct, many businessman don't mind to take a loan to expand their business or taking other risky move.

(b) Not entirely correct, diversification is only appropriate if you're middle upper or upper class. Imagine you only have $1,000, do you want to diversify to gold, Bitcoin, stock and time deposit? even Bitcoin price reach to $60K, you're only earn $250 and you need to wait for 2-3 years, it's small.

In business, the person in control of a small business, is expected to fit into a business or trade that their capital can manage and yet expect a better profit. So, if a person with $1000 wants to diversify to a greener or profitable business, they don't need to venture into bitcoin.  There are other small retail businesses that is suitable for such capital. Hence, to me, diversification is a very good idea, only pessimists think low of the profit diversification can bring. If the current business is not favorable, it's good to have a keen eye on other successful ways of making things work and yield profits, instead of relying on the business with a stunted growth, believing that it'll get favorable soon. It's not certain, and also the mind is not focused on doing the business again. What matters is staying in business, and change is constant.
1854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rant: Casinos should hire people who knows about what they do on: September 12, 2023, 09:29:37 AM
It's true that casinos hire professional customer supports who do not know much about gambling. Because the customer representatives may consist of people who do not gamble. Their job is to help you with things like, withdrawal, deposit issues. And they're prepared to assist in such a dispute and provide the right answer or problem attached to it. For example those that serve drinks on casinos, it's not their duty to know about the slot machine. I've reached to few customer supports in the past and they were educated about gambling to some extent. They online advised me to read their TOS, that was the only help rendered to me. In the case of OP, it's their job to ask a gambler within them to handle such complaints. Or ask OP to wait for few moments, the answer or support he wants will get sent to him via email. The casino have their reasons for hiring them, since they'll obtain the profile of the applicants before selecting the people that'll join their company. Hence, it's the niche of the customer support reps, so they're more likely to see customer support job openings. We also expect that they have rules governing workers, which we do not know about.
1855  Economy / Economics / Re: The Bullish Case for Bitcoin, reloaded. on: September 12, 2023, 12:37:15 AM
The demand and limited supply of bitcoin work together to affect the price of bitcoin. The halving event has proven to be a good catalyst in the growth of bitcoin price.  But, after the halving, or bullish run that follows it, the price also falls back to a low amount. Because the bear market scare many users away and makes them feel like they're not good investors. like Op said, without the demand, bitcoin price won't make any much positive changes. Hence, when more people stop investing or trading bitcoin, because of its price volatility the price begin to drop, causing more users to pull off their money into fiat. It's realistic that bitcoin will not fail us, if a good number of countries, facing inflation adopts bitcoin as a means of exchange or payment. And the high expectation that bitcoin price will hit fresh ATH, may get the attention of the media. If they begin to publish such trend, more people, who wish to profit money through bitcoin will throw in some money into it.

Your thoughtful insight about factors those can potentially influence the future of Bitcoin's price is indeed valuable. In particular, when assessing the Bitcoin price trajectory within the historical context of halving event and its consequent impact on Bitcoin market. It is important to acknowledge the prevailing economic conditions worldwide. Factors such as, high inflation and interest rates, declining GDP across major economies, tensions among USA, Russia and China, are creating unfavorable environment for investment in risky assets. Therefor despite the historical role of halving event to act as catalyst for price surge, it is possible that substantial increase in Bitcoin price in 2024 may not materialize, what most of Bitcoin enthusiasts are expecting.

That's great, the problems as you mentioned, inflation, conflicts etc affects bitcoin price, yet given time bitcoin outperforms the underlying issues. If the media teaches or promotes the importance of the next halving to their readers and listeners, the growth of bitcoin will still emerge. Regardless of all additional price effects on bitcoin, the most important is adoption; investing more money into bitcoin. Bitcoin have multiple channels where it's promoted, if these people invest time in providing valuable information as other niches do, the price of bitcoin can increase.. The task is meant for everyone to explain carefully to anybody interested into bitcoin. Not about what's happening in the world. The 2021 bull run followed through the pandemic and made it to ATH. And the news about the problems in Ukraine and Russia is no longer hot or trending in some locations, like when it began. Similar to the tensions between USA, China etc, some days it'll no longer be trending, so if bitcoin gets to trend again at any moment, the price will increase. Bitcoin works mostly with adoption and high amount of investment.
1856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: September 12, 2023, 12:08:39 AM
Op what is your challenge you are facing with casino website you faced the trouble? Yes I have heard and seen of people used small amount of money to bet and win big amount of money. KYC is the only gate way to catch scammers by casinos so they don't play with KYC request when withdrawing.

If the Government wants to maintain a detailed, proven track restrictions of underage gamblers who hide and play online casinos, they'll need to enforce KYC on casino platforms. It's not mainly to target scammers or people that wants to trick the casino. It also helps to track embezzling of funds through an online casino. The initiation of KYC on casino, also, have increased the requirement of people's ID on black markets. The underage players can purchase IDs to verify on any casino. Though it's against the rules, yet the possibility is clear and possible. The main disadvantage is the stress and funds it can cause a player to withdraw or deposit funds on the casino. These things can discourage potential players from using online casinos. Hence, for the OP, the playing small and winning big, shouldn't be a reason or things to think of a casino's decision of allowing KYC. It's possible to do that and many forum members acknowledged that too.

A lot of influential twitter accounts get compromised easily and such accounts have loyal followers, regardless of their knowledge they can fall for any information shared on the account. A smart person would believe Vitalik shared the post, but going through the site or link can think twice about it. Such people as vitalik have no reason to ask for people's private keys. I've been long gone on twitter, but one thing always changes about my thought on a tweet especially, when I have a double mind that the tweet made is not meant to come from the owner of the account. These victims always think that their favorite's twitter account can't get hacked. And they don't pay attention to tweets. The traffic on such account is many and not everybody there is expected to be wise enough to understand when things get wrong. Quite an unfortunate situation.

True, however many people are optimistic and naive by nature, so when they make a bet they assume they are going to win, and as such they basically assume there is not going to be any trouble because they do not have the money on hand at the moment.

However if someone does this enough times then they are bound to lose a few times and that is when huge problems can begin to appear, as there are still many countries in which casinos are owned by shady figures, and those people are willing to do anything in order to collect what you owe them.
Yes, that's a human who will never stop before they get something that even if it's difficult for them to get, they will keep trying until they succeed. And with that assumption, they are trying to win gambling even by spending a lot of money; they don't care because their goal is to win. They even think of borrowing money from the dealer, which is highly discouraged because there is a need to repay the loan.

Maybe both are to blame but casinos that provide loans to gamblers still want to get benefits outside of their income and that is why casinos continue to provide loans to those who still want to continue gambling. But gamblers should realize that what the casinos do will only hurt them, especially if they experience another loss. Casinos can take what is in them without remaining especially if the gambler borrows a very large amount of money even the casinos can take all the important things in their house. So it's not easy to blame the casino because in this case, the casino wants to make more profits while the losing gamblers still want to recover their losses and win. Even though that is something that is difficult for the gambler to get, so maybe the gambler is to be blamed, but I don't know.

There is always more to the story, the both of them in my understanding may have some outstanding situation in the past. Maybe the player must have done similar things and it favored both the player and dealer. And then the dealer became familiar or cool with him until the recent one, the results weren't good. Because if the dealer wasn't familiar with the player's attitude he wouldn't have allowed him to play extra games, while in debt. The player will always be at fault, for not controlling himself. As for the dealer, he wants to earn more money, he's also good at asking after the lost money. It's also a disadvantage for the dealer to be calm or not laying down straight rules for players in his gambling shop. He would have stayed in his gambling shop, and wait for the gambler to be back after working with OP. Because such a player, will still patronize him because of the outstanding debt or clear them with the money he's earned. It's not bad to owe or to ask a person to refund the money owed. They're into business and it's left for them to settle their disputes separately.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: September 11, 2023, 03:43:33 AM
Physical casinos should really have an emergency kit and someone on standby that knows how to do proper first aid for people who will experience health concerns. Although it's not really mandatory for every establishment to have a medical personnel, I guess, but it's much better to have one just in case this scenario happens, especially casinos involve a risky decision that could make the emotions go rollercoaster causing sudden collapse and panic attacks.

It's just so unfortunate that the dealer didn't notice it easily. I bet if he knew, he would have called 911 immediately since cardiac arrest is a serious health condition that needs to be attended to ASAP. Perhaps they were oblivious since they were too engrossed and focused on the game. Somehow, the casino plays a fault on the death since they weren't able to notice and give first aid then call the emergency hotline. Hopefully, next time they will do better such as be more wary of the surroundings and the players behaviour so this won't happen again.

Because it's a rare occurrence should have triggered a fast attention to the man, its possible their thoughts wasn't related to health issue. I didn't read the article, but if the man was drunk or was offered some drinks. How will the dealer know, he is having cardiac arrest? Maybe they'll think he's dozed off, due to high intake of substances and felt it could be just sleep or fatique. Nobody takes death as a joke, the responsibility is not for the casino alone. Assuming people in the casino knew what the man was passing through, it's an obligation to anyone to call the ambulance, if the casino doesn't. Such things can lead to the establishment of medical kits in the casino. Before such medical problems happened maybe it's their first time experiencing this, the casino may not have prepared for the unexpected break down of the man. Therefore may not have made provisions for that. However, it's encouraging to see a casino that is ready to meet the needs of their customers. Not only offering them drinks, but pay attention to the health conditions of their players.
