1841  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should we care about the Proof of Reserves of the Exchanges? on: June 27, 2023, 10:46:31 AM
We are not talking about hacking here. No platforms can give that proof that their platform won't be hacked. Still, we use online services. Do you think Bitcointalk cannot be hacked? Bitcointalk was hacked before, and its old database is still available on the black market. Do you see some sold accounts pop up every few days? Those are basically hacked accounts. The situation is you have to choose one worst platform from the ten worst platforms.
You are not getting what I am saying, that people should not think proof of reserve can save an exchange from hack, that they should not still leave their coins on an exchange even if the exchange has proof of reserve. If they are traders, they should trade and after the trade, they should move their coins out of the exchange. If they want to invest, they should use a noncustodial wallet instead.

Yeah, sorry for the misunderstanding. You are right, indeed. No matter how trusted an exchange can be. No one should use an exchange account to hold their funds in it. Either use a hardware wallet or software wallet like Electrum. I guess you will agree with me regarding choosing the exchange platform. I do not suggest anyone use exchange unless it's necessary to use. But, if someone wants to use an exchange, they should avoid exchanges that do not give their proof of reserves. The purpose of this thread is to let forum people know which exchanges don't provide proof of reserves. Also, it's possible to verify the proof of reserves these days.

But the proof of reserve is not proof of hack or hack proof. People should know that proof of reserve does not means an exchange that provides proof of reserve can not be hacked.
We are not talking about hacking here. No platforms can give that proof that their platform won't be hacked. Still, we use online services. Do you think Bitcointalk cannot be hacked? I still wonder that exchanges like Coinbase do not have proof of reserve yet but many people trust the exchange. Kraken and Bitstamp too are not small exchanges and they do not have it yet.
You should avoid using those platforms. Of course, they are doing some shady things behind them. Otherwise, there is no reason to hide the proof of reserves.

1844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie Crypto Advice on: June 27, 2023, 09:52:52 AM
This is an obvious character of a scammer. Scammers are easy to call an amount of money. A serious investor shouldn't be mentioning an amount of money to entice an adviser.

You are not 64. A 64 yrs old person should have the time to study. Atleast to know a bit of what they will invest into. That is how anyone above 50 behaves
This is not how you should conclude. What if you are saying those words to a real man who is already 64 and decided to invest in crypto, but he is not that much serious yet? Maybe he wanted to give an ETA on how much he wants to invest. Maybe this is not the only option he thinks about. Maybe he is trying to learn from forum members before deciding to invest in crypto.

Do you have any proof that he is a scammer? It would be best if you didn't name-calling someone without any proper evidence. If you guys continue doing this shit, you will find this forum being isolated, and there will be no genuine newbies except Sig spammers. He already got a good suggestion from the first reply of this thread. There is no reason you can talk like this.
1845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 27, 2023, 09:34:11 AM
I don't know what company you are talking about because I did not hear of any company that went bankrupt and folded up their business just because it went down to $15K from $69K. Some companies bought at an all-time high because they expected it to reach 100K that year. But, it didn't. People relied on PlanB's idea and thought their prediction always worked. The truth is; No one can predict the actual market movement. At least not every time.

Now if you ask who buys Bitcoin at All time high, well, whoever accumulates Bitcoin by using the DCA method will always buy Bitcoin no matter what the price of it.
1846  Economy / Exchanges / Should we care about the Proof of Reserves of the Exchanges? on: June 27, 2023, 12:05:04 AM
Today I read about which exchanges provide proof of reserves and which don't. If some of them provide proof of reserves, how do they do it? More importantly, how transparent is that? Some exchanges transfer their funds to somewhere else after the audit ends and take snapshots of their reserves.

Here is the case from Crypto.com

While the practice of PoR is becoming accepted by centralized exchanges with many starting to release PoR audit data, there is still the issue of crypto platforms moving their funds right after the snapshot for the audit was taken.

Crypto.com recently transferred 280,000 Ether To Gate.io address after it released its PoR audit, fueling rumors about crypto exchanges potentially faking their reserve audits. Many in the crypto community claimed exchanges were borrowing assets to show a healthy financial book, only to return them back right after the snapshot.

Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek came out to clarify that the $400 million ETH transfer was a mistake and was meant to be sent to another cold wallet, raising even more suspicion.

And, while some exchanges give detailed breakdowns of their reserves during a PoR, other firms simply provide quick responses claiming they are in the black. Nexo has simply come up with a one-page snapshot that says they have more assets than customer deposits of around $3.2 billion.

Even after the audit, you cannot trust an exchange that they won't transfer its funds to somewhere else, just like Crypto.com did.

What is the solution?

Don't trust, Verify!
Only use exchanges that provide proof of reserves with complete transparency. Some exchanges share the wallet address of their reserves, and you can always check those wallets on the blockchain.

Here are the top 10 exchanges and their stats

SL Exchange Name Provide PoR? Reserve Data Link
1 Binance Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/binance/#reserve
2 Coinbase Exchange No No data
3 Kraken No No data
5 Kucoin Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/kucoin/#reserve
5 ByBit Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bybit/#reserve
6 OKX Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/okx/#reserve
7 Bitstamp No No data
8 Bitfinex Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bitfinex/#reserve
9 Gate.io Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/gate-io/#reserve
10 Gemini Yes https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/gemini/#reserve

You can verify those exchanges' Proof of reserves from the internet. You should avoid exchanges that don't provide Proof of reserves or even if they claim that they provide, but it's not transparent.

I realized $31.3K was the highest in the last 52 weeks!
Are we preparing for a big rally?
Where is proudhon?

I think he stepped into another dimension with last year's post:

Just re-ran my scientific models. The price of bitcoin will not sustain more than 3 consecutive days above $20k for the rest of the year. Next year there is a 96% chance that the price will not sustain 10 consecutive days above $20k for all of 2023.

It seems this guy is not proudhon anymore of himself.
It would be best if you gave him a chance to be back again.
Probably working on some Mcdonald's to accumulate some fiat and buy Bitcoin but afraid to say that he loves Bitcoin  Tongue
I won't mind if someone changes their path turn into a Bitcoiner.

- That the Russia - Ukraine war will not escalate into a European war

You might disagree with me. But world war three has started already. It's we who do not pay enough attention to it because it's not a new thing. We show sympathy when something begins, and then we start to forget everything when it's started getting a bit old. Several war has been running for a couple of years we ignore them.

Who powering Russia in private? Do you think it's only Putin who doing this? Do you think he doesn't have supporting countries? There is a cold war happening in private and you don't know about that. This is not as simple as it looks like. I am expecting those wars will end up slowly and economy in every county will recover slowly.
1850  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is money ruling the world? on: June 26, 2023, 03:32:21 PM
OP, you answered yourself already. Other than money, who do you expect to rule the world? The ultimate power is in God's hands if you believe in religion. But, if you talk about ruling the world, money cannot buy everything. Look at the recent case of submersible titan. Everyone in this submersible was billionaire (?).

The ultimate truth is you will spend thousands of dollars to get into there where your death is written already. Money has nothing to do if you are there where your death were written. But yeah, you can do almost everything in this world with the money other than changing your luck that already been written by your God.

When we are wearing signatures from companies and making posts around, we are shilling their businesses. But because we are joining Bitcoin paid signature campaigns with higher requirements in quality to be accepted by campaign managers, our posts contribute more for their businesses.
I'm afraid I have to disagree with you here. I never believed that wearing a service signature in my profile could be considered a shilling. NO, We are not shilling their business. We are not advocating for them in the forum. The signature campaign never asks you to post and advocate for them. Let's say you are wearing the signature of Vbetftn. Do they ask you to post in their ANN? Do they ask you to say something about their casino in another thread? If not, This is not a shilling. Signature space can be considered ad space, and you are selling your ad space to that platform. Nothing else.

Quote
Spam shilling services are no longer work because the admin deployed bump scores and Bumping changes on some boards. With good algorithm from bump scores, low rank accounts will not be able to bump those announcement threads to tops of those boards.
Bumping and shilling are not the same. Anyone can bump the ANN thread by just saying bump in their post. A bump can be done once in 24 hours. But, when it comes to shilling, you will notice some accounts post fake good reviews about a particular platform in different threads or a single thread. I guess you got that.
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: June 26, 2023, 11:01:03 AM
If someone claimed they have the right strategy for gambling and winning more times than losing, why can't they use the strategy for themselves and change their lives first?

Why did they go around looking for people to teach? This is why experience after following a friend to a gambling group on telegram, but I am not ready to take the step in any other their predictions..

My question for you my friends is are there sport betting groups that gives betting calls that are legit? Because I believe that if anyone knows a way to change their life around, they won't tell anyone, they will enjoy the moments and pray it last forever.

Precisely the same question to the signal sellers. They create a secret group and sell their crypto signals to their subscriber. If they know the market movement, why don't they open a big position and change their lives? Why they have sold their so-called crypto signals to people to make money?  This is among the most selling scam courses or subscriptions people still buy.

There is no profit guarantee in the crypto market or any business. This is another case of dumb and dumber. People who buy their service can be considered dumber people. It's like a bald-headed guy selling medicine to other bald head people to grow their hair.

1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 26, 2023, 12:48:05 AM
I still don't believe in the "entertainment" aspect. There's so many things you can do that is truly entertaining for what is much less of the cost. To an extent you can have occasional fun with gambling, but if it's often, it's beyond entertainment.
Maybe it's better to say gamble for fun only? Let's take it this way since I don't know the definition of entertainment. I am quoting you because I also posted that people should take gambling as entertainment in this thread. Let's say gambling is for fun. But when it comes to spending real money, and you are addicted to the "Fun," you have to stop there because you don't know how much you will lose until you end up busted.

Quote
I also don't believe in spending money pointless crap like skins in games and in game purchased, so maybe my view is old fashioned.
Well, I have tried some battle royal games. Also, I wouldn't say I like purchasing game skins just to show off. But I played a battle royale game named free fire by garena. The weapon skins have attributes like double damage, double rate of fire etc. So, sometimes I've purchased those skins to take advantage.

Thank you, Learn Bitcoin.
Maybe I posted in the wrong section. Apologize.

I assumed this section is to write about everything but it is economics related so I posted it here.

No worries. Sometimes the same post can be fit into several sections. I guess this post also fits in this section. So you don't have to worry about it. One more notable thing is; this is an anonymous forum. Don't care about too much what people saying to you. Just take positive suggestions and ignore them if you don't like something. Sometimes you might get criticized for your mistakes.

Take that criticism positively and improve yourself. A new member in this forum won't learn everything in a single day or week or even in a month. Take your time to explore the forum if you have enough time. Write post if you are interested to share something.
1858  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ JacksClub.io ✨ Daily Contest with Amazing Prices | VIP Rewards | Free Faucet on: June 25, 2023, 01:22:52 PM
Nah don't give a shit on review site since they can now be manipulated if there's money involve. Since they can be use as part of marketing so I guess we can't rely on them right now especially if we want to get reliable information about the casino status. This forum is somehow the best place to go if seeking reliable feedbacks since we can read people ideas and opinion that they share here. But there is one particular site catching up my attention and that is Btcgosu since so far they are doing on this criteria.
This forum can be a good place to read honest reviews, but people need to read the whole posts than just few posts because it might be shilled by newbies or users who get paid for promoting scam casino. Newcomer need to sign up in this forum to read the feedback of the @OP account, but if the @OP has an active flag, it already enough to warn anyone who open the thread.
I don't think the shilling service works in this forum anymore. Most of the time, when a few shilling accounts pop up, the forum members start talking about it, and then they disappear again. Another problem is signature spam. When we talk about many things that might not be interesting for a user looking for honest feedback. The review is buried in the middle of the posts. The best section is the scam accusation board. Search some keywords with casino names. If you see any unresolved scam accusations, you should go through them and judge whether you would choose this casino to play. But I also fear new people won't understand how to do that.

Hamary Kuch junior member aur full member rank waaly abhi bhi Kuch mistakes dobara repeat karr rahy haa jis sy unky account ban ho rahy haa. Bhai ye problem sirf Pakistan community par nahi. Bangladesh community par same issue ho raha hain. Main sorry bolna chahta ho kyu ki main hindi or urdu main farak kya hain wo bhi nahi janta. But, mujhe ye lagta hain ki ap mera bat samaj paoge. Main hamesha Pakistan thread follows karta rehta hoo lekin main post nahi kara. Jo problem ki bat ho rahi hain wo sirf is community ka nahi. Yaha multiple account bhi allow hain. Meri suggestion ye ki agar apko jyada paisa earn karni hain to ap dosri account bana lo. Apka dosri account hide karna nahi. Ap publicly bolo ki ye mera dosri account hain. Khudki account pe merit transaction mat karo aur rules mat todo and unethical things avoid karke ap zyada paisa earn kar sakte ho.

Notable thing; agar ap kisiko mera bat sunke bura laga to main sorry hu bhai. Indian community par ek post kia tha aur wo log mere par attacking mode pe bat kar raha tha. Maine sirf mera thought share kia.

Interesting "stream of consciousness" type of post but I fail to see any reason behind it... why exactly you're sharing this with forum users? Looking for some followers or like-minded people? Looking for sympathy? You seem to be confused?
Let's take it positively. This is a discussion forum and people can talk about almost anything they are interested in. This forum has different sections for different interested people. So, why not let them engage with the community and let them share their thoughts? I don't have any problem joining the general discussion if I feel the topic is interesting. There is even a section named Off-topic where you can discuss almost everything you want.

You are more experienced than me and I believe you know more than me. Now, I feel like you didn't like his topic and decided to write your expression. Let's be more welcoming to others. If you don't like the discussion, just ignore it. Please do not discourage people to discuss something. To be frank, I did the same thing before. But, I feel like this is a waste of time.
