1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 09, 2023, 08:55:40 PM
What I think about the outcome of bitcoin for the remaining of the year, well i don't see any much change from what we have on ground now. Although anything can happen in the space of one month, but all things being equal it'll be business as usual with small fluctuations. I think that the focus should be more on next year, when we'll be sure that halving will happen, and if you put past events after halving, it should give you the answer. ATH followed by massive bull run from the speculations that I'm getting, of course the analyses can turn out wrong, but given the precedence of bitcoin, we should be hopeful of cashing in on investment, anytime during or after next year.

Investments in crypocurrencies are risky, that is a fact that we have to keep in mind, so price pump and dump is to be expected, and it shouldn't be a source of worry to you. No matter how dip that price will be in the bear run, bull run will eventually override it. This is why bitcoin price has been appreciating since it's creation till now.
1842  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Pay attention to bear run without fear. on: November 09, 2023, 07:40:19 PM
Economically di best time to buy anything wey you wan resale na wen price de low, so you g fit make double profit, normal profit for current price and additional profit for buying wen price de low. So as e concern  bitcoin, na for bearish run be di best time to de accumulate bitcoin, so wen bear run show face, na to cash in on plenty profit. Although recently i don de reason dat phrase wey say make we invest wetin we fit afford to loose, e de make am be like say bitcoin, no worth to invest with confidence. Anyway di important thing be say make we de invest di percentage of our income wey no go choke our basic needs.

Dem say if you no run walk, if you no walk crawl, so far say you de move. So i applaud your commitment to de comot something from your salary, to de buy bitcoin hold,  you de sow in tears, wen bull run come, you go surely harvest in laughter. So i no see any fear wey de inside am, something wey you buy wen market dip, na to wait for di perfect opportunity to sell wen price skyrocket.
1843  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 09, 2023, 02:28:05 PM
I use myself as an example, be for I started to acquire knowledge about Bitcoin, I first bought some amount of Bitcoin and held it in my personal wallet, not an exchange wallet, and I had my wallet keys properly saved, and after that, I became more active innthe forum and reading comments and posts and doing other bitcoin related research,  and that made it easy for my to accumulate more bitcoin while studying, and this has helped me in much greater ways and I thought it could help others here, most especially newbies.

This paragraph I quoted actually explains that you weren’t a total newbie before buying your first bitcoin you might have read about them before or some guided you, because a total newbie wouldn’t be aware that it is bad not to store coins on exchanges. In fact most newbies uses exchanges as their first wallet because the lack the knowledge. So for a total newbie they wouldn’t just jump into buying bitcoin yet but rather sort after knowledge on where to get and how to do it. They also need gain knowledge about wallets and which is what and why they should install any. So with this informations lacking at first, it is bad to acquire bitcoin then.

So with that knowledge stated above, you can stick to only bitcoin and grow your knowledge before going out on Alticoins because they need extensive knowledge to do there personal research

I'm in agreement with what you said, because if OP doesn't have any knowledge about bitcoin, then how did he come to know about holding and accumulating bitcoin. Contrary to what he advised I'd have newbies to learn about bitcoin first, at least have some basic knowledge about it before investing. I didn't have any bitcoin experience when i opened my first wallet, i didn't even know the importance of seed phrase, i thought that they're part of the process to open a new coinomi wallet. I started to accumulate bitcoin inside the wallet, it was when i wanted to sell that I realized that I'd misplaced the passwords, anything that i tried to alternatively use the seed phrase to open the wallet it'd tell me that i should check if i misspelled any word. I got frustrated and just stopped  trying. I still have the wallet, but i might not be able to send bitcoin, ever from it. If I've had a proper knowledge of bitcoin, I'd have known the importance of seed phrase, and not be ignorant about it.

I want to use this opportunity to ask if anybody on this forum that uses coinomi wallet, has had this experience of trying to use seed phrase to send bitcoin, and the wallet is saying that the person should check for me misspelled word? I'm asking because i believe that it's the correct seed phrases that i copied and they're in the correct order.
1844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No advertisement for btc on: November 09, 2023, 01:09:21 PM
I've never given a thought before about how bitcoin came to gain so much popularity without advertising it an any electronic means. But this should not really be surprising because I've neither heard of any fiat currency being advertised before. There are some fiat currencies that are not popular because of their low value in foreign exchange, but currencies like the USD, Euro and pounds are very popular because of their high values. I don't think that they've been advertised before, likewise bitcoin, that was created and has attained high value like these recognized fiat currencies. So bitcoin naturally don't need adverts too, since it is also known worldwide. What this valued currencies including bitcoin have in common is that they are used by more than one country.

Because of the decentralized and profitable nature of bitcoin will make it's adoption to be growing very fastin every corner of the world, which is an advertisement on it's own. A good product sells itself and bitcoin is doing just that.
1845  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 09, 2023, 09:17:56 AM
I'm from Nigeria, and I know that groundnut oil and palm oil are abundant in the county, so if a person wants to go into the businesses, they'll be very profitable. But i know that a crop that can grow in one region will not grow in another, so in countries that groundnut can not grow has to rely on importation to be able to process the oil. Another factor to consider is if the business will be lucrative in other countries as it is is Nigeria, because every household in Nigeria, uses palm oil and groundnut oil to cook, also industries use it them as raw materials to manufacture things like soap. In countries that have their own means of cooking oil, investors their might not be interested in the business.

All the same it's a good business opportunity especially for those of us that are from Nigeria, and neighbouring counties. I believe that the investment will be more profitable in our region.
1846  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin still Bitcoin on: November 09, 2023, 08:32:08 AM
Bitcoin go always be bitcoin as OP talk, because despite di negative things wey people don attribute am to, di currency still de wax stronger, di adoption still de grow and investors and traders still de make profit untop am. So for instance if any major exchange wey de popular like binance come crash, people wey no too de informed about crypto matters go think say na cryptocurrency crash, unto say na crypto matters dem take know di exchange. Even di development sef go bring propaganda wey fit result in bear run wey price of bitcoin go dump, but if dat one happen na still normal thing for bitcoin, because if that season pass  e go became business as usual, as na one event go still happen to change di situation to bull run.

Bitcoin don withstand di test of time, because since im creation despite di volatility wey im carry come, people still de make profit for im investment and trading. Unlike most altcoins wey go come today and vanish tomorrow, and come de give crypt coins bad names.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 09, 2023, 07:45:41 AM
Being patient and consistently involved in healthy gambling habits will surely make you a successful gambler. If you are newbie who is interested in gambling and has been following the gambling community here or any where online or offline, your purpose should be to learn as much as possible from the shared experiences of others such that you can eventually branch out independently, allowing you to operate without dependence on others.

Note that the most important thing in gambling is bankroll management and finding value. What messes people up is poor bankroll management.  Personally, I limit my bets to no more than 10 percent of my bankroll per day, I stop once that limit is reached.  Also don't get discouraged if variance comes in and you have a losing day, week, month, etc. Value is value and it will catch up.  Goodluck on your gambling journey.

Gambling oldies can throw in their 2 sats on this.

Bankroll management is really important but you also need self discipline on any other thing related to gambling so that you would learn something thru your experience and use it the way how you handle your gambling habits for sure if you manage all of risk especially managing it to make the chances to lose into low then with this we can be bullish on gambling. But also in reality its hard to achieve all of this so maybe we should focus to have fun instead stress ourselves on technical situations on gambling.

True to your word, discipline is key to gambling responsibly, because without it there'll be no control to the gambling habitat. Even when you have designed your bankroll management, without discipline to follow it through then it becomes a wasted effort. Because i know that gambling habit is enticing, the more you engage in it, you'll still have the urge to continue, even when common sense and all the self thoughts that you've given yourself is telling you to stop. At that point it's only self discipline that can apply the final brake and guide you to make the right decision.

To be involved in healthy gambling as OP has pointed out, requires discipline too, because without it the gambling becomes unhealthy. Generally i think that gambling should mainly be for having fun, not as a source of income, because of the risk that is involved. So how can a family man with responsibilities rely on a business that is based on luck to take care of his resoinsibilies, that sounds like irresponsible to me. Because if the individual experiences a big lose then what happens to the people that are dependant on him to survive.
1848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $300 Million Crypto Scam in India. on: November 09, 2023, 06:28:55 AM
Crypto scams are happening everyday, it's only the ones that hits the headlines that we're aware of, it's really that bad that scammers are coming up with new tactics everyday to defraud people of their hard earned money. Imagine how many years that it took for this particular scam in India, to see the limelight,  further imagine if the scammers tracks and identities have been cleverly hidden, then there wouldn't have been any arrests. There is need for people to be more enlightened about cryoto dealings, in order not to fall prey to this wicked predators. I see a lot of WhatsApp and telegram adverts that will entice you with bogus promises of making massive profits in a short time if you invest in some crypto coin. And you'd be surprised that people will actually ignorantly waste their money in this scams, I think that governments should be monitoring these scam adverts and arrest the criminals before they commit their evil deeds.

One time an exchange called Patricia, floated in Nigeria, it wasadvertced on TV to gain trust, and people were using their exchange to facilitate their crypto transactions, all of a sudden the exchange collapsed with people's money in it. I think till date that people have not recovered their investments in the exchange, they came out and gave some assurance, but as far as i know, that was how the matter ended. We wouldn't know whether the intention of the exchange was to accumulate people's funds and go down, a ponzi in disguise.
1849  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost of my capital has made me to have a change of mind about Bitcoin . on: November 08, 2023, 11:07:52 PM
Even if what I'm about to say will surely sound like a repetition of what most members have already told you on this thread, it's still the fact, because I'm retelling you what they've told you already. For now as a newbie, just focus on increasing your bitcoin knowledge and investment, all you need do is accumulate and hold, in bull run, you sell and make profit, sounds quite simple right, and that is what it is. Only difference is that you'll need to probably hold for a longer time to maybe wait for bear run to pass, then wait again time for the perfect opportunity for you to sell and make profit. Unlike bitcoin trading where you can can make that profit on a shorter term, but as you've already learned from your experience, it comes with it's own risks, of losing your hard earned investment capital, as is in your own case.

I've been in this forum now for a while, and despite the interest for me to venture into bitcoin trading, I always caution my self to still stick to the investment mode, I've however given my self a time frame before trying to trade, and that time has not come, i need to equip myself more about the dynamics of trading before going into it. I'm not in a hurry to take that risk now, despite its reward, because I'm not in a hurry to lose all my money.
1850  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: A wake up call to all lower rank members in our prestigious local board on: November 08, 2023, 10:08:22 PM
I remember when i join dis forum di off topics for our local board no be like dis, infact na more of bitcoin related topics we de enjoy for di board. That time every month wey chairman Igebotz, go update our local board review, di kind comments wey our members de make for the thread na how happy wey dem de say di quality of posts for our board de increase. Plus di SatoPrincess, monthly btc reward for quality post, we im de take encourage upcoming members to de  focus on quality posts for di board. Di btc reward wey i don de privileged to win three different times,

Aldo i reason say we need some off topics  to de spice our bitcoin related discussions for here, so we go fit to digress sometimes discuss other meaningful topics wey we fit to learn something valuable from. But as most of our newbies and even some experienced members come de start off topics wey no fit to add any value for us come tire me. Dat na why i come de happy say our senior ogas dem come do di right thing to caution di new trend.

Las las for dis matter e go make sense if we get sub board for our local board, to de carter for off topics E surprise me say 90% of other local boards get dem own sub boards, and as we de active reach, we no come get any one.
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what if bitcoin becomes inferior on: November 08, 2023, 04:03:08 PM
We live in a competitive internet age, where almost anything is possible, technological innovations are happening everyday. Individuals and firms are outdoing each other to give better versions of their innovations, so we'll just wait and see whether any any cryptocoin can take over from bitcoin, although I won't worry myself about that now.
Yes, your point is also correct that you said that we are living in the competitive internet age, in which almost everything is possible, but I have a question: do you have any evidence to confirm that any coin can take over Bitcoin or be more valuable than Bitcoin? So far, we have not seen any other coin that has the potential to take over Bitcoin. It is clear that each coin has its own merits and use cases, but it will not be appropriate to compare these coins to Bitcoin or consider them more valuable than Bitcoin because these coins lack the qualities that Bitcoin has, such as being immutable, high value, high volume, etc. So far, no coin has done this like Bitcoin has.

So I mean that bitcoin is the supreme of the cryptocurrency world and no one has the competency to bow it down.

For now bitcoin is the king of all cryptos, but we don't know about tomorrow, because before the emergence of bitcoin, i believe that we only had fiat as the only means of currency payments, and for currency trading purposes we have the forex market, that is also fiat. Then bitcoin came and changed the narrative, by introducing digital currency that is decentralized. So maybe one day a better version of bitcoin, that we have not imagined today, can be created, to put bitcoin in second place or even put it in the level to compete with altcoins. We're just analysing future events that can happen in the crypto space, but unarguably for no was we have said before bitcoin remains the cryptocurrency to beat.

Competition is good for crypto coins, so that developers can go to work on how to unseat bitcoin, it's all about innovation.
1852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 08, 2023, 01:22:09 PM
In my religion  they say that faith comes by hearing, so it doesn't matter how many times that we hear an important information, it is still very good, because out of sight is out of mind. So it doesn't matter that we hear about keeping our passwords and seed phrase safe and secured every time, the information should be ever green in our memory. One of the essence of holding bitcoin, is to safeguard it in our wallet, and if our the wallet address is lost or compromised, then the bitcoin is at risk of been lost forever or stollen.

The first wallet that I ever opened, which I ignorantly misplaced the piece of paper where I wrote the password that very day without knowing, and the seed phrase that I saw later wasn't complete, I still have the coinomi wallet and the bitcoin inside it, but I can not send it. I only use the bitcoin inside the wallet to see price fluctuations, nothing more. It is a very important and bitter lesson for me anytime that is open it. Now that bitcoin price is pumping, I can only watch it grow without selling it, probably forever.
1853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: November 08, 2023, 09:41:26 AM
Altcoins are so important, they are the only things keeping that keeps the crypto space market going. Imagine if it was to be only Bitcoin? How many people would be able to afford owning a single unit of Bitcoin. Altcoins came into play and the market was open for new projects and thousands of Altcoins was introduced. Lot of people have made more money from Altcoins than Bitcoin, it has given Bitcoin the run of its life. The best thing that happened to the crypto market space is the introduction of Altcoins every single day.

Does this mean that altcoins exists to complement bitcoin? If it's so then what is their relevance without bitcoin? Because what you said means that it is not good that bitcoin should be alone in the crypto space, that it needs other crypto coins to make it relevant. I think that altcoins are on the own level where the emergence of new coins are limitless, and this makes it quite difficult for all investors to know which one of them to choose from. Because amongst them, some might start out as prospective coins to invest in, but later turn out to be worthless, thereby reducing the trust on them as being generally profitable. Unlike bitcoin that have proven it's worth in the crypto market.

Altcoins are important in there own respect, because you'll have many of them to choose from, i also hear that investors can make huge profit on them on a very short term, also that a coin can become worthless anytime and put it's investors at lose. In that regard i can say that it' more riskier to invest in altcoins than bitcoin.
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment, Beyond "Invest What You Can Afford to Lose" on: November 08, 2023, 08:27:37 AM
When I first started learning about bitcoin, and heard about the phrase " invest only what you can afford to loose" i became aware that bitcoin is a very risky asset to invest in. I even likened bitcoin to gambling, because i know that to have a  right mindset to gamble means that you'd need to only bet the amounts of money that you can afford to lose, because of the major factor of gambling which is luck. Now that my knowledge of bitcoin has increased, i know that it has it's risks because of it's volatility, but it goes beyond luck to make profit in bitcoin. You have to understand how it's market supply and demand works, all other determinants of bull and bear runs, so with all this in mind, bitcoin should be an investment that guarantees profitability if the investors have accurate knowledge of the market dynamics.

We're expecting bitcoin halving by next year, after which ATH is expected to follow, and the energy is very high that it'll be a major bull run for investors to cash in heavily. I've even heard in this forum that people should get a second job to earn more in order to buy more bitcoin to hold in expectation of the coming bull run. So the question for me is if we should invest only what we can afford to loose, then what is the need for all the excitement about accumulating enough bitcoin to hold in anticipation of the coming bull run? For me it clearly shows that we're gradually passing the stage of that phrase, because so far as you actually have the correct knowledge of how the bitcoin market works, it's safe to invest more than what you can afford to lose.
1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the Bear and Bull Markets for Altcoins? on: November 08, 2023, 07:13:06 AM
The independent Bear and Bull market for altcoins is quite difficult to determine. While it actually exists, Bitcoin normally sets the tone for the overall market. So if Bitcoin is experiencing a bull market, the altcoins suddenly seem to have an increase in demand hence an upward price movement. The same case when it's a bear market; Bitcoin goes down, and altcoins start to nosedive (some even get their new ATL in the process). The last bear market is an example. However, this isn't the same for all altcoins as some altcoins with solid fundamentals, unique features, strong dev teams, etc can have a positive market while others are bleeding.

A valid question that the OP asked, because it is only bitcoin bull and bear run that most of us know about. From your analysis it is understandable that bitcoin is the pacesetter while other cryptocurencies follows, so in this case altcoins follows bitcoin trends. So i think that bitcoin bull run will trigger the interests for altcoins, where investors  will also want to cash in on other forms of crypto coins. So this can be s sort of bull run also for altcoins, I'm guessing that when it's bearish run for bitcoin, then it'll also affect altcoins negatively. It's just speculations for me, because like the OP I've not  come across where we're expecting bull or bear run for for altcoins, unlike bitcoin that has its pattern.

I believe that there are altcoins out there that can have their own bull and bear seasons, but since my interests are not in altcoin, I wouldn't know much about them. I really think that if there is a sort of regulation for altcoin development, and we don't have plenty of them, then we can understand and predict their seasons better. But crypto is decentralized, so it's easier to mix valuable coins with worthless coins together as altcoins, making it quite difficult for investors to have trust and know their trends.
1856  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Whats your target of achievement in bitcoin in next year on: November 07, 2023, 12:03:34 PM
That's an excellent plan, one thing is to plan, another thing is to strategize and achieve it. I hope you've laid down a proper strategy and discipline to guide you to achieving this purpose. I'll  outline a few for you to consider
  • set aside a constant percentage of your monthly salary if you're a salaried person or a  portion of your profits weekly if you're a business person to invest in bitcoin
  • don't forget to use a non custodial wallet to store your coins and keep your  seed phrase safe
  • try increasing your income or do something extra that will give you more income to augment for what you're investing periodically
  • Do your investment first before settling expenses and responsibilities cos you might have low motivation to invest if its the last activity
  • Control your excesses cos you're on a rewarding mission, so there's bound to be many financial temptations
  • finally, be prayerful cos man proposes and God perfects

Your talk carry plenty weight my person, all of dem na wetin we suppose carry for mind as we de expect di coming bull run. Anybody wey de into bitcoin things and e never de prepare for next years halving and ATH wey de follow am, de live under the rock. So na to find money through any legal means to de accumulate bitcoin now before di bull run go come bulldoze plenty profits enter for di investment. Who no get source of income wey sabi bitcoin, make im try get one and Begin de save to buy am, if you get job wey you no fit to save anything, find side hustle join am, because if you know wetin de and come miss out na real shame be dat.

But make we no take because of di expected bull run come give ourselves hypertension, because beta things no de finish, if we no participate for dis one wey de come, oda ones plenty wey go still come in the future. So if di fund de to buy plenty bitcoin to hold, that one de fine, but if e no work out, life goes on. Investments na secondary needs e be, so I advice to meet your primary needs first, before investment.
1857  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't Fiat the Real Ponzi on: November 07, 2023, 08:41:36 AM
Without a local currency, you can not be able to run a business in a country. But you can not run a business with a ponzi scheme as it will later collapse.

Fiat is backed by the government. Ponzi scheme is not back by anything but it may remain hidden until it collapses.

You can do a business with fiat but fiat become like a scam if you hold it. Why would you hold fiat when their are assets that you can go for.

You know everything about fiat and that makes it not a scam.

Yes fiat can not be associated with ponzi, because it is a means of payment for ponzi and any other item or services anywhere in the world. You can not put blame on fiat currency for Inflation, devaluation or mismanagement in any economy, because as I said earlier it is just a means to to exchange goods and services. Blames for any negatives that affects any fiat currency is as a result of other factors that determines it's value, and these factors can be by minting of excessive new currency into an economy that is stagnant, and the excess money released will devalue it's worth, where excess money will be chasing few commodities. Another is when a country so much dependant on other countries for imports of it's goods and services, it's currency will be devaluing while enriching the currency of the exporting country.

I also agree with you that fiat is better invested than holding it in a bank account, where it is not adding any value to the economy. If a lot of money is hoarded and doesn't circulate, it causes artificial scarcity that will cause the prices of goods and services to increase. So in all you can not blame fiat for any inflation in a country.
1858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts about potential newly borned coins during the bear market? on: November 07, 2023, 07:44:48 AM
Personally I've really not put much interest on altcoins, because of the many negatives that are attributed to them. You'd hear people call them shitcoins,, that their used to scam investors and so on, this has really discouraged me to have interest on anything altcoins. But if I were into altcoins I'll consider buying the ones that have the potentials of staying long in the market, i also know that the best and most profitable time to buy anything crypto related is in the bearish run, so I'll take advantage of it and invest what i can afford to loose, because of the risks involved.

Risk is a factor in any investment, but some investments like altcoins carries more risks, so if new altcoins are minted I'd look at the outcomes of similar coins that were minted during bearish markets and see how they fared afterwards, that'll at least be a guide on how to invest in new altcoins. For now I'm just content in bitcoin investment, because it has proven to withstand the test of time.
1859  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is the devaluation of naira really the problem on: November 06, 2023, 09:45:22 PM
Will the increase of the value of naira makes the country ore stable or except this problem is solved our will continue to devaluate?
You are just not wrong at all. The root cause of economy instability in Nigeria is not solved. As of today, Nigeria is importing refined crude oil products, electricity supply is bad and Nigerians have lowest access to electricity in the world. We import than export. The government do not encourage production of locally made products. People may think naira appreciate in value recently, but it will still later continue to depreciate because what are causing the economy instability have not been solved.

In agreement too with all that have been said, we get root causes of the naira devaluation, and except say we tackle di problems from di root, na so di naira go just de devalue de go. Intact naira devaluation na di effect of all dis things dem wey una mention so, because e no de gree me comprehend why we be oil producing country, wey even get excess to de export to oda countries, still we de import di finished products wey be fuel. Because our refineries don turn to artifacts for museum, wey im only usefulness na to de view am, instead of am to de refine products optimally. I believe say corruption follow do us for Nigeria, dat na why refineries, power sector, local manufacturing no fit work, because if e work, di corrupt officials dem no go see opportunity embezzle money again.

So if dem kill of minimize corruption in high places for Nigeria, hopefully di naira, go gradually de gain strength again, because if people wey dey for government go make our refineries to work, power sector to work, create enabling environment for investors, encourage local manufacturing and so on,  di economy go de beta.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 06, 2023, 06:46:09 PM
Greed or risk, I think that it depends on the mindset and financial strength of the gambler, because what you're worrying about for him might be his adrenaline to keep going in the game. Some people are natural risk takers, they'll want to finish the game no matter the outcome, it doesn't matter to them if they lost, so far they won't lose more than the amount used to place the bet. While others will cash out, out of fear of losing everything, i believe that most reasonable gamblers will fall into this category. Another category are those that very rich, they don't care if they will lose the bet, and cashing out is not an option for them, they're just in it for the thrill.

Personally I'll cash out if given the opportunity to do so, because if i don't and eventually lose the bet, I'd be very heartbroken and blame myself for being greedy. This is probably because I'm not rich, if I'm rich and lose a bet, it'll likely be  risk for me.

Greed once enters, a gambler for sure will always put the winnings he gets at risk because greediness pushes him to continue playing gambling in the casino, which is why he always ends up losing.

This happens all the time with gamblers. Now, there are others who may not have this greed in the meantime, but there is a risk that they take when they gamble, and that is that they are willing to beat their partner no matter how much it is, right?

Greed has become the starting point for a more painful end, they, especially gambling addicts, have felt and proven it themselves, it is quite painful but the problem is that their expectations are much higher than the reality that always befalls them (even successive defeats). That is why they are still greedy even though it is clear that the final result is more often a defeat than the results they always expect. Even though they basically got a win at the end of the gambling session, I wouldn't say it was a real win because obviously in that condition they will bring their greed like you said, and instead of getting a much bigger win but the opposite happens.

It's a cycle of addiction that will always be involved with greed at some level, and whether or not a gambler will be greedy depends on the level of involvement of the person in the gambling, usually greed will always play a role in someone who has entered the addiction phase. I don't believe they can control themselves if they are in a state of competing in a bet with anyone including their own partner, because when your adrenaline is pumping then maybe you will not think and consider how much risk you have to take.

It's more of greed than risk for most gamblers, because they can imagine that if they can come that far without failing then their luck will lead them all the way to winning the bet. Not remembering that gambling is a game of chance, that the table can turn around at any moment, in an instant winning can turn to lose. Any thing that depends on luck to achieve is not a reliable thing to depend on, because luck can change at anytime whether for good or bad, so it's more reasonable to cash out if given the opportunity to do so.

Taking the risk to continue a game that you have no control over is not advisable, unless the gambler does not care about winning or loosing, but in rare cases, people who care about winning and yet continuer to play after been given the chance to cash out are the real risk takers, because if they lose, they probably have ways of getting over the lose.
