18421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 09, 2018, 01:15:17 PM
just buy BTC for same money... as next november u wont have same btc by mining. And if you like u can buy one S15 for 400usd that time and continue mining Cheesy
i dont know, mabye i sounds sceptical, but there are better miners than S15 and i see better option to buy btc directly when the price is relative low and save your nerve, noise,etc.. however 5cents sounds good.
for last 6 months diff went up from 4T to 7T+its almost double = your profit half. and then in 12months it will be even less. so if u see today that u will mine with S15 in year 0.36 then u are mistaken. if u will mine 0.2 that wil be success. now u can buy for 2 000usd around 0.3BTC lets say.

my point is it is overpriced, it should got for 800-1000 max with psu.

https://www.coinwarz.com/difficulty-charts/bitcoin-difficulty-chart

the diff has not risen much  since august 24th.
18422  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 09, 2018, 12:58:12 AM
Exactly right, these S15's are overpriced by almost 40%...

they work if you have high power cost and run on 50 watt setting.

if you have 15 cent power they turn profit of $23.70 a month

if you have a m10  it loses $22.36 a month.

now that is a frozen moment in time  and for long term  it is going to change a lot.

also bch is Daily Yield: ≈0.00037295 BCH Per TH/s    so 28 th is 0.01044 bch or  $5.99 a day with a split coming very soon.

btc is Daily Yield: ≈0.00003396 BTC Per TH/s   so 28th is  0.00095088 btc or     $6.09 a day  with no split
18423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: November 08, 2018, 10:38:09 PM
And how do they get the miners to deploy a new mining software version every 10 days?
I sense a major nightmare in that idea.

every 10 days is faster then needed.

1 time a month should work.

prewrite 24 algos

release the new software on the last day of the month

start the new algo on the first of the month.

a gpu could  do the switch easy

but it would delay a fpga  for a bit of time  before it can switch

an asic would be trashed.

I think 1 time a month would hurt fpgas enough that they may not bother with the coin.

18424  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 08, 2018, 08:39:34 PM
No you'll still need to add in shipping and card fees at checkout with them, ordering from Bitmain is much cheaper.

Are you selling them?

https://minefarmbuy.com/

Maybe I will get one from you all.

Shoot me a pm as I am not sure of your pricing
18425  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: November 08, 2018, 07:57:22 PM
Yeah, timestamps are far more accurate on what might happen that the percentage bitcoinwisdom comes up, they are down to 5.29% today, following the downtrend but still positive. I don't know how and what they are doing but they should change something

Anyhow, a 5-7% decrease would match my expectation if we take into consideration the increase in BCH price, thus migration of hashing power and nothing major coming back online. There still could be the possibility of bitmain decoupling s9s and brining s15 online but...I doubt they would do it this way, and not try to keep as much hashing power online all the time.

A jump by late November?

My guess is still flat or close to flat the need to move upwards in diff is held back by a lot of factors.

A few years ago when I ran the diff contests thread.  "  heinz57 "  can't remember his name came up with the idea of hash spike showing future numbers.  I coined a clever name for it but it was his idea.
High spike in chart below shows network to be over 57,000,000,000 gh

not the current  number of
Hashrate(?):   46,724,750,622 GH/s

So  this spike could mean we move to 57,000,000,000 in under 2 months.

with bitmain's new killer machine maybe so. time will tell

but the break from  august 24th to Nov 15 will have been nice.
18426  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: November 08, 2018, 01:46:37 PM
Google translated this:

TSMC responds that "Bitland has defaulted on TSMC's $300 million": the customer's payment status is normal.

Bianews
11-05 13:00
Bianews news on November 5th, in response to foreign media news that "Bit mainland defaulted on TSMC's $300 million debt", Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sun Youwen said, "There is only a trust relationship between customers and suppliers between us and our customers. ! The payment status between the customer and the supplier is all right."

Well the interest is do we now jump on the new miner send bitmain money and hope all is well?
18427  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 08, 2018, 04:47:46 AM
So a dec 1 to dec 12 ship date.

That is not too bad.

And a 50 watt per th

That is good.
18428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: November 08, 2018, 02:31:00 AM
so nest egg 2 with 2 acorns 215+ right.

now do i need to use the usb ports on it?? is that the purpose. to not use the 1x risers and just plug right into the usb vs the 1x adapter?

or am i missing it. cause honestly this whole thing is very very very.......... something Smiley..

but as a serious buyer i need a lil guiding light if u can shine on how i would go about setting it up.

no I think  you are in need of 1

 4 card with 4 acorns

your board has tons of usb ports.

you have no need of   more of them

and I believe  that you board has a full slot that is 16x  so it can handle  4 acorns fully  and spread their power to all the usb jacks your board has.

But I could be wrong  so you may want to wait.

Now While I am pretty sure I am right about that board let me link the board.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W06P37326

so is this your board?

http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en%2Dus/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=884#specification

a 4 card  should be better with that board.  but I could be wrong as I often am.
18429  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: November 08, 2018, 02:10:38 AM
For what it’s worth TSMC has already denied these rumors.

I saw a denial but it seemed to not be direct from TSMC

do you have an official link
18430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: November 07, 2018, 06:30:10 PM
LoL @ the ASIC heaters discussion! Grin

There's one heater that's making money again against all odds. That Obelisk SC1 is making a massive comeback. I feel for the poor plonkers who sold their units for $400 before the fork... These puppies make almost $100 a day now... and sell for $5000 on ebay!

Market manipulation at its best.

or worst.
18431  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 03:34:24 PM
S15:
850W wall means 790W DC -> 750W boards -> 710W chips for 0.042J/GH at the chip.
1600W wall means 1470W DC -> 1390W boards -> 1290W chips for 0.046J/GH at the chip

T15:
1200W wall means 1100W DC -> 1030W boards -> 980W chips for .049J/GH at the chip
1540W wall means 1415W DC -> 1330W boards -> 1250W chips for 0.054J/GH at the chip

I buy the T15 numbers, but if the S15 numbers are correct it's a bit of a feat. Not so impressive considering it took them 2.5 years to just beat what Bitfury and M10 are doing with 16nm. I'm mostly impressed that there'd be a sub-KW option.

Maybe  it is worth buying.

Maybe not.
18432  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 03:07:49 PM
S15
28TH/17TH
1596W/850W

T15
23TH/20TH
1541W/1200W

so two speeds.

If it does 850/17000 on slow that is 50 watts a th.

But 2k is pretty high price.
18433  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: November 07, 2018, 02:29:36 PM
The estimates don’t work well on bitcoinwisdom but. The charts with redline blue line gray line are decent.

And the raw numbers are accurate.

We started this jump on the first of nov at about 4:35 pm eastern time. So we are five days and 17 hours in.

That is

5 x 144 = 720
6 x 17 =.  102

So we need to have made 822 blocks right now to be zero.

So 2016 - 1220 = 796 made so 796/822=  0.968-1.000= - 3.32%. Real time. Not + 7

3. Red trust tags should be for people who did something which will harm the community or other people.

You don't feel taking someone else's work without paying for it doesn't harm the community?  It makes other people less likely to create original content.

Could I look at the post.

If he said he pulled it from other sources it is not the same as plagiarizing it.

Yeah his form was less then perfect but it he said is was not his work and he used other sources it is more of a case of imperfect crediting and not plagerizing.

So does someone have the post?

Since he was tagged someone should have saved the evidence .

I would like to read what he said.

waiting not so patiently.

Well at least you are brooklyn based

I am in NJ shipping will be quicker.
18436  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: November 07, 2018, 11:55:09 AM
Hash rate stays as expected for the frequency provided.    Power draw drops a bit.

@200MHz was 4.66W, with AsicBoost measures 4.20W.

that is pretty nice

I am getting just about 37 gh at freq 175

kind of fun watching them run.
18437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2018 Midterms Watchparty! on: November 07, 2018, 05:27:27 AM
FL passed the right to vote for felons that have served their time.

So 1,500,000 new people can vote.

Most of those felons were black men that were busted for drugs. So this will mean trump will find it harder to win FL in 2020.

Interesting times.

In my state of NJ  Menendez won senate against Hugin  this was a senator race.
18438  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 05:12:06 AM
I doubt the S15/T15 can get 34TH at 1500W. GMO has their 7nm chips out and their Miner B3 unit is 81W per T. A lot of the power efficiency and how well it performs comes down to chip design. We know that Bitmain is bleeding money and they lost most of their best engineers. If their ASIC really was as awesome as they claim it is, they would have released some real numbers on their "teaser" release. So the only thing really they could hype about is the 7nm technology. If their chips really did 45W per T, they would have bragged about it already. Just my 2 cents.

The whatsminer m10 does 34th at about 2400watts.  I have two of them. And they use a 16nm chip.

So I get around 68-70 watts a th with them.

I think we will get 55-62 watts th with this gear.

The real concern is how fast do they ship it.
18439  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2018 Midterms Watchparty! on: November 07, 2018, 04:27:56 AM
I predict Democrat disappointment.

Well   Looks like a spilt.

Congressman looks dem

Senators look republican.

Pretty much means trumps gets impeached by congressman then senate votes and says fuck that shit.

A lot like what happened to Clinton .

I wanted all dem or all republican resolution  here.

Instead we get 2 years of mud.

I think this  result may get trump re-elected much like Clinton was.

At eddie13 you should go back and look at what was said on sat nite live. News part Michael Che called for demacrats to move to red states to defeat republicans and end the right wing movement.

Basic numbers say that could work.  Flood Texas flood Florida with California and New York liberals and we will never see another conservative get in.

Give NY CA FL TX to dems and it crushes the right wing movement. I wonder if this will be a new move to attack the right.

Bitcoin Cash fork to be forked again
https://www.investinblockchain.com/bch-hard-fork-supported-by-coinbase-binance/

More SHA256 Coins to mine, more hashrate distributions over blockchain networks
They all need SHA256 hashpower.

It can explain current BTC diff with BTC value.
If others chains are more profitable then miners follow.

well bch is up to 620 a coin.

it is a reason to keep btc diff low

and could be interesting to see what happens if BCH moves to 1000

we had crazy hash swings last year when bch took off.
