1862  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) on: August 19, 2023, 07:40:54 AM
Maybe your wallet wasn’t tampered, but mine was!
Even if I vaguely remember the Ledger App certified that as genuine.
I would be interested in reading more about this. How, when, why do you think that?
I know that Ledger's initial onboarding setup can be buggy. They are aware of it themselves, that's why there is a link to solutions as to why your computer might not detect the device even if it's connected and unlocked. That also affects the genuine check which won't work. Running the app as administrator, restarting the PC, trying a different USB port, etc., etc., are some ways to "fix" it.

Let's get back to topic of Betnomi's most probable exit scam. @ icopress, any new contact with the reliable folks from Betnomi?
1863  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport Official Thread on: August 19, 2023, 06:54:58 AM
Our team's 3D printers have been brrr'ing non-stop for the past few months with prototypes...
Can you reveal a bit more information about what you are working on? Are we talking about brand new Foundation Passport hardware wallets software and hardware-wise, or more simpler modifications to the existing version like a lite variant that will be made of lower quality materials and be cheaper? Or perhaps the company is releasing something different entirely...
1864  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: August 19, 2023, 06:43:23 AM
Vidjećemo kako će to izgledati.

<Snip>
Nicely done. The black color looks better than the standard worn-out grey. The black without bold is the most fitting with the rest of the text in my opinion. Bolding certain parts will add more importance to those lines in the table. I feel like that's the best combination instead of using bold for every single amount.
1866  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: August 18, 2023, 06:09:47 PM

Tesla i Musk prodaju svoju zalihe jel?
1868  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: August 18, 2023, 03:39:23 PM
I always like avatars without a background, i.e. avatars that are not square. That's why my choice would be PX-Z or icalical pirate flag
The flag is very similar to the current avatar design. The skull looks identical and so does the Sinbad.io text. The background color is a bit darker. But the "protecting your privacy" part is too small for my old eyes and taste.

Again, leaving a log with any data is in complete contradiction to what the mixer offers and what is the basic purpose of such a service. It is certain that many would not be happy with such an idea. The good functionality of a service is reflected in its simplicity and the fact that the end user cannot make a mistake or overlook something. By introducing an additional action such as manually deleting the log, the matter is unnecessarily complicated. Plus, I believe that most users would not return to delete the log after the transaction is complete.
I completely agree with you here. As long as the session has finished, I don't mind if Sinbad deletes the entire history. I would welcome it. And I really hope they do and not that some logs are kept on a server somewhere that no one knows about.
1869  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: One of the worst examples of a "HW wallet" on ebay I've ever seen on: August 18, 2023, 03:28:31 PM
Ebay should have been told to rename "hardware wallet for bitcoin" to, for example, a "flash drive with a pre-installed bitcoin-wallet". To avoid misleading your customers.
But I don't think they know the difference, that's the problem. The chances of their support agents understanding what a hardware wallet is and what it isn't is surely quite low. You would have to be really lucky to have the right person read your report. Anyways, it should be accompanied by information what a crypto hardware wallet is. And again, I don't see them studying that to learn how to deal with your report.

Is it even possible to make a report on a ebay of such a plan?
Yeah, sure. You can complain to eBay about sellers and listings.

These links are probably for the US site. I am not sure if each regional site has their own links or not.
1870  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 18, 2023, 03:19:23 PM
This looks so much better with bold text!
It is a small change but it makes a huge difference in visibility and it is very clear to see.
I think all the numbers in Withdrawal Fees Table would look better bold, but color can stay the same like it is now.
I will consider using bold for all price entries if it looks better after I test it. Initially, I only wanted to do it to highlight the positives or negatives when considering too high or too low amounts and fees. I have to admit that it looks quite cool in bitmover's example post.
1871  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 17, 2023, 07:37:16 PM
It is now possible to change the color of the text using the parameter hex and  to change the font weight using bold

I see you are using red and bold in your OP table, so this might be useful to you.
Yes, that will definitely be useful for my needs. I will not use colors for all amounts and casinos but green and red will come in handy for those entries I am already highlighting in the table. Thanks for mentioning it to me. Btw, where can I check the hex codes for the different colors?

Have you guys checked out the designs that the Bitcointalk members created for the Sinbad avatar campaign that was brought to an end 2 days ago? There are many really good looking creations there, and picking a winner won't be easy.

Among the designs, I particularly liked bitmover's avatars. I also have my eyes on SamReomo's red-hat-wearing pirate from his second entry. cafter's third design from the third entry looks nice.
Who do you think will win?
1873  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: August 17, 2023, 03:35:39 PM

Sretno sa prijavama!

1874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever tried to live only on Bitcoin? on: August 17, 2023, 03:24:44 PM
If people use bitcoin in many ways, I prefer to use bitcoin as an investment and not use it to buy things in online or offline stores.
I still use fiat for everyday life and only keep my bitcoins for long term investment purposes, so there is no desire to use bitcoins in real life yet.
I don't think you need to limit yourself in that way. Depending on when you got your coins and at what price, it might be worth considering buying something with them when BTC reaches a price you are happy with. Sometimes seeing and holding a physical item is good motivation and incentive because it shows that bitcoin has a real value. It doesn't matter what it is. If the purchasing power of your coins are much higher now than when you got them, you can get a new phone, a watch, a new computer, a house, a car...

it seems that in every country it will be different because there are governments that allow btc to be used as legal tender and some do not, in my country the government does not allow people to make btc as a means of payment and only allows btc to be used as an investment asset only.
Who cares what they allow or don't allow. It's between you and the buyer/seller. If I have goods you are interested in and willing to take BTC for them, your government's opinion on our deal is irrelevant.

When you only live on Bitcoin it will make life easier to live in, where you do not need a bank account...
We don't live in such a world. Even in the example with the YouTuber in the OP, we can see there are various hurdles he has to bypass and hasn't succeeded to live solely on cryptocurrencies.
1875  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 17, 2023, 03:11:34 PM
l0tt0 has no minimum withdraw amount, and charges only bitcoin transaction fees.
Waiting for monsignor Pmalek to test and update.
Good to know. That makes my job easier.  Smiley
But I have to ask @dewez, when notblox1 says you only charge the transaction fees, that should mean your site doesn't charge anything and those are the fees of the network, right? Do enlighten us.

Only this time I discovered that the lowest withdrawal amount in Fortune Jack is 150$ and the worst one is the bethash minimum withdrawal amount is 0.02btc around 560$ more, which means that small gamblers are not allowed here. money will only grow.
I have no idea what BetHash's problem is, but I don't think that anyone sane plays on that site. Those fees and minimum withdrawal requirements have been like that since I started this thread. They never changed or lowered anything.

or even if their withdrawal amount is high, there is no minimum amount for how much can be deposited on their platforms or is there a minimum amount of 50$ or 100$?
I have never paid attention to minimum deposit amounts but I am sure they exist as well. I am guessing the average is around $5 to $10 in BTC.
1876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe are physical exchanges in your neighborhood. on: August 16, 2023, 06:03:14 PM
But I can guess that physical exchange may have lower rate than online exchanger and service charge may be more than online exchange.
The rates don't necessarily have to be lower, but the exchange will take a cut of your profit, that's for sure. They have to make money, otherwise, what's the point of their business?! The rates can be anywhere from 1-3%, maybe more for small amounts. Anything above that is too much.

And in this case there will be tax issues so I think online exchange will more convenient and easy to use than physical exchange.
If the law in your country requires that you pay taxes when exchanging crypto for fiat, you aren't exempt from that just because you are using an online exchange. You are required to declare that in your tax report and pay the necessary taxes. It's a completely different topic of discussion if people do that and if their tax offices check or have the needed information.

And in case of physical exchange different documents must be required whereas in online exchange one can trade without KYC and only by doing KYC with NID up to 100BTC transaction and exchange facility is available daily there is not so much limit available in physical exchange.
I don't think you can find a quality CEX nowadays that allows you to exchange 100 BTC without previously undergoing KYC. And if there is such a service, it's not going to work for long. Even Binance had a daily withdrawal limit of up to 2 BTC in the better (KYC-less) days.
1877  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor CoinJoin Testing on: August 16, 2023, 03:46:12 PM
The regular Trezor Suite update for August now introduces the coinjoin feature for the Trezor One. Previously, only Model T users could participate in coinjoins.
The latest software release has also slightly simplified the firmware upgrade process for the Model T. Trezor has gotten rid of the step that involved disconnecting and reconnecting the device.

I have thought of using only bitcoin for my daily spending if I travel to El Salvador on vacations because that is the only country that living on bitcoin will be possible.
I know you were being serious and not trying to make jokes, but before a travel to El Salvador, research the crime rate of that country and you might be negatively surprised and change your mind.

The only time that I have used bitcoin was to pay for my hotel bills when I travelled for a project because the manager was a bitcoin fan and he wanted to have more bitcoin.
That's a good use of bitcoin. Were you expecting it and did you know you would pay your hotel bills in that way before your trip? I am asking because if you had access to BTC away from home, you must be holding it on an exchange or a phone wallet. Hot wallets are ok for smaller amounts and if pre-prepared for trips and holidays.
1879  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: August 16, 2023, 03:23:39 PM
Maybe you can think about adding new l0tt0 website in future, they are new but I like what they are doing with their games: https://www.l0tt0.com/
It's the first time I hear of l0tt0 to be honest. Despite the name, I expected a full fledged casino, but turns out it's a simple lotto site with 3-4 lotto games. Judging by their announcement thread in the gambling section, they have been around for around 2 months. If I remember them the next time I add new casinos to the table, I will add them, why not.
1880  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Another crap Amazon wallet find: Material Bitcoin on: August 15, 2023, 05:38:43 PM
I'm curious, because I have a Coldkey Genesis Edition which apparently was produced in a run of 250 cards and I'm wondering what its collector's value is.
Did you get the wallet directly from yogg or purchased it from a third party? I don't remember the specifics of the Coldkey scam and if yogg saved the private keys of all released series or only some. Is the wallet still funded? If the scam didn't happen and yogg didn't steal the coins, the value of those wallets would obviously be higher. But now it's associated with negative connotations and scams.
