Just recently got into BTC; I have 2.5 saved up. Plan on taking 25% of each of my paychecks and accumulating and seeing what will happen in 2017 or later in the year. Thoughts? Ideas? Speculation? Advice? Tips? Easy answer for me is nowhere near enough. If you can put away 25% of your paycheck and maintain your living then that is quite a good move as I can only see you benefiting from this in the long run.

Congrats, rarely do these kind of bets win but when they do it is rather nice.

Definitely one of the best resources to find out about bitcoin and anything crypto related, but it carries it's dangers so caution is advised when paying too much attention to what people say, the knowledge is there to be learned but there is a lot of fud around as well.
As long as you have an open mind and can double check facts then you are in a safe place.

I hope it is gradul and not a crazy jump, if it's a nice slow increase it would be sustainable and look more like a solid investment for people.

Once you're up and running I will check you out, It will be hard to have yourselves stand out from the rest of the news sites and there are many, looking forward to see how you manage this.

This is a real shame and does nothing but hurt cryptos reputation, I hope all the other popular exchanges take note and take into consideration security when a member of the team leaves, even on good terms.

Haha so what happens if you lose your coins? you can simply steal the election coins from the other candidates users

I've noticed there are a lot of hyip websites being promoted. Are there any benefits to running one? Which website(s) are the best to buy an HYIP website?
Well the main benefit seems to be an easy way to scam people especially newbies and take their bitcoin, if you value yourself and believe in karma it would be best to stay away from running one of these. Even trying to run one in a legit way would be extremely difficult, promising these high returns to the users and then trying to keep to it whilst making a profit would be impossible and you would work at a loss. it will take a while but eventually everyone will wise up to these sites and simply stop using them but people will always be drawn to the fact that they could profit at someone else's loss.

Yes, it can become quite an obsession. The usual dream where I would be super rich with pure bitcoin only to wake up and realise it was all a dream and it's time for work

Miningrigrentals is the one which I regularly use, nice easy to use interface and they have great support if anything goes wrong such as low performing miners, they will refund you a portion of the purchase price if it falls below the expected hash rate.

Altcoins are crazy, there are a few which have been in existence for a while and have a stable price but the majority of them do not last very long. If you are lucky you can make some profit when they get pumped but for an 'investment' they are extremely risky I have learnt this over the years and have been burned a few times.

Best place is to check the announcements thread on this forum, usually they pre announce them although sometimes they have a ninja launch. Before you invest in any of these coins make sure to do some research before diving in as most of the are just clone copies made for nothing else but quick profit, there are some hidden gems though.

It's not too late, it is too late to mine and get bitcoin that way unless you are extremely lucky. Bitcoin has a long way to go yet and is just starting, when more and more people come to discover bitcoin you will be at an advantage as you would have a good bit of knowledge by then.
Faucets although they give you something, they take far too much time and I can see that you have found the Yobit signature campaign which is good for newbies to earn whilst they learn, you could also sell some goods or offer a service if you have any skills, of course you also have the option of buying bitcoin with cold hard cash.

A tough spot to be in and not quite sure what to advise as it's not something that I have been victim of yet. Replacement I think is key, smoking is an addiction and I have quit a few times so obviously my method hasn't really worked but it did for the time I stopped, try to replace your gambling with something else, perhaps learn a language or replace it with a workout or something along those lines.
It is good that you are able to recognise the potential problem before it fully grips you that is a good start! I wish you luck and hope that others will have some better advice then me to help you out.

At some point it will be accepted just like visa and all the other retail payment options, it will just take a little while. There are some apps out there that allow you to pay using your bitcoin in any retail shop that accepts NFC, one that comes to mind is Plutus and there is another one I recently saw which i can't remember now but for bitcoin itself to be accepted I would give it another couple of years.

Haha, nice subject. I would agree that the majority of alts are just BS and put out simply to make a quick profit, they have become much easier for people to create now and a lot of them are just clones with a fancy or stupid name.
There are some that do come out with a great community behind them and some serious development but yes the majority of alts are pure BS.

I read the subject in two ways. - Gambling in a smart way as in knowing your limits and not going over these limits and just treat it as a bit of fun not to be taken seriously.
- Playing a game which requires skill and not just luck.
I can't see how else gambling can be smart, it's like being a smart lottery player

I have always found the best way to learn anything is to be thrown in at the deep end, the way I found out was by googling bitcoin and then ended up here and then took it from there, did some research, bought some bitcoin and so on. I think just a nudge in the right direction would work best, I have tried to explain to a few people and they just give up and say that they haven't got the time to be learning anything. You could direct them to this forum and show them how to setup a wallet online such as Coinbase as it has an easy to use app, then send them a bit of bitcoin and some faucet links then it is up to them to take it forward, I just end up hounding people too much as I think I get too excited trying to bring someone new to bitcoin

I think altcoin signatures are a good thing, from the devs side it is a great way to get some exposure in the forum.
If you are a participant it could be an interesting experience, we know altcoins can go sky high and hit rock bottom all in one day especially some of the newly released ones so sometimes you might receive a great payment when converted to bitcoin and then other times you might receive hardly anything, It adds a different angle to signature campaigns.

I would take 1 and pass the rest along on a more serious note, if you have 10 then I would suggest putting maybe half away in a wallet and forget about them and the other half I would use 1 to trade against some altcoins and try to gain some profit that way and the rest I would probably do as the others have said and invest in something along the lines of a casino.
