Mixing any Nvidia card with any other one is fine, same goes for AMD.

However mixing AMD and Nvidia is generally not a good idea. You should save you the troubles and build separated rigs.

No problem at all mixing AMD & Nvidia cards on Windows 7 or 10. I just installed the latest driver and it works out of the box. Both with the Claymore dual miner and EWBF.
1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ver 7 Riser + Sata but only running cards @ 150w on: July 04, 2017, 09:47:05 PM
You can power risers off Sata power. It's important to never use more than two connections per strand MAX. Since EVGA G2 PSU's have four connectors per strand, I would use a Sata splitter cable to distribute the load over two connectors and power up to two risers from each strand. You can also do the same with 4-pin molex connectors. MAX two connections per strand.

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-Molex-Power/dp/B01DV1Z22K

I use version 6 6-PIN PCI-E risers powered by a dual PSU setup that has all the risers and motherboard powered by the same PSU and the larger PSU only powers the VGA power inputs on the cards. Each riser uses between 45-50 W.
1863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: July 04, 2017, 04:21:10 PM
There are no optimized miners or drivers for Vega. Also the only cards available ATM are the workstation model which are never good for mining compared to the gaming models. At best, any benchmarks are rough estimates.

BBT said he wiill do a live stream once he gets the card he ordered later this week.

Hi, I'm about build my first rig of 1050 Ti 6X.
Is there any difference between 1 and 2 fans? I mean this card: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-6253-KR
Is this card good enough for mining?
Thanks.

I would go with the dual fan model. Better card, better cooling and better resale value. The dual fan is only $10 more on Amazon.

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-6255-KR

The other difference is the 1050 Ti single fan typically won't use a 6-pin power connector, where the dual fan model may need a power connector.
Thanks for your answer. and someone told me because of its 4GB these graphic cards soon will be unusable for mining. Is it true?

Not true. The Dag file for ETH won't be even close to 4GB until 2019. You can also mine other coins with no problem at all.

1866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gigabyte GTX 1070 ITX - Problems? on: July 04, 2017, 02:15:03 PM
What PSU are you using and how many cards do you have connected per PCI-E connector?
1867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much ETH and/or ETC can I mine with a single GTX 1080? on: July 04, 2017, 01:49:07 PM
with 1070 you get 27 MHs for 1 gpu
with 1080 you get 31 MHs for 1 gpu
all these are without overclocking

No you don't. The best you can get out of a 1080 on ETH is ~25 MH/s because of the GDDR5X ram it uses. Mining ETH with a 1080 is a waste since you can make >50% more profit mining ZEC. The 1070 uses GDDR5 ram and does much better than a 1080 for ETH mining, ~30-31 MH/s on ETH.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: using mix of rx580 cards from various vendors in rig on: July 04, 2017, 01:30:41 PM
I haven't had any issue mixing Asus and Powercolor RX 4XX/5XX cards in a rig. I also have a MSI 1080 on the same rig. You need to configure the overclock settings separately, as the stock clocks are too high for mining and each card will need different settings. I use MSI Afterburner and that works resonably well. I did have a problem adding a XFX RX 580 Black Crimson card. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to mine for more than 30 seconds, so I had to return it. If you mod the Bios, you may need to patch the signature check anytime you install or update the drivers.

1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCIe risers keep getting fried on: July 03, 2017, 12:45:24 AM
You didn't say what model PSU you have but if it's this the RAIDMAX RX-850AE 850W below it's a multi rail PSU that is rated for 732 W MAX over the combined 12V rails. Do yourself and your rig a favor and buy an EVGA 1000W G2 or P2 single rail PSU that can output >99% of the rated power over the 12V line and has 6 PCI-E connectors.

I'm mining only ETH but for some reason it is also mining DCR. Is DCR being mined as a fee?

-epool us2.ethpool.org:3333
-ewal ETHAddress.RigName
-epsw x
-allpools 1

Is it really taking my config options or is it taking something that I'm not inputting? Where is that DCR info coming from? I want to solo mine.
Thanks

You need to use -mode 1 if you don't want to dual mine.
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.6 (Windows/Linux) on: July 02, 2017, 09:32:40 PM
I'm having a weird issue. Claymore just waits after it starts and says OpenCL initializing... then it lists the cards and just waits.

I used to be able to fix this by restarting claymore or restarting the computer but it's not helping anymore.. it just waits every time and won't mine.. Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be hanging from too high of an overclock. Try backing down the core clock by 10 MHz and the memory clock by 50 MHz and see if it helps.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Download the NiceHash miner and run the benchmark. That will give your rigs hash rate for different algorithms. You can then see what is currently the most profitable coin to mine with your rig using:

1875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum + ? // What dual currency should i pick? for the Claymore miner? on: July 02, 2017, 09:13:55 PM
Nvidia 10 series cards are not as good as AMD RX 4XX/5XX cards for dual mining. I would get a couple of RX 4XX/5XX 4 GB cards instead if you want to dual mine ETH. They have a better hash rate for ETH than a 1060 as well. You can see which coin is more profitable to dual mine with the whattomine calculators.

1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Vega frontier released! on: July 02, 2017, 08:59:03 PM
I remember when RX 480s came out, and they were getting ~19Mh/s on an 8gb card, then people understood the card's specs and now they hash at 29.
I don't think there is any single miner that is optimized for Vega yet, so it's using generic kernel. And it all depends on the algorithm and how it uses the card's resources.

The RX 480 since day one always did 25 mh/s because the first model to launch was with 8gb samsung memory and that is by default 25 mh/s, after bios mod up to 32 mh/s, bios mod came after a month or so.

The drivers are never optimized for mining at launch, neither are miners for new cards. We won't know the real hashrate for a few months until after the Vega gaming versions come out.
1877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 30% hashrate drop for RX400/RX500 incoming soon? on: July 02, 2017, 07:56:37 PM
Is this JUST with claymores miner? I saw the BBT video but read through the thread, are other miners not affected by this?

Be interesting to see if Claymore is actually speaking with AMD.

Also, with the new AMD cards coming out, to see if it affects them too(because I have 30 of them on order).

There are conflicting reports as to whether SGminer is also affected. Part of the problem is AFAIK, you can't benchmark future epoch's with SGminer like you can with Claymore's miner. Claymore has confirmed he is talking with AMD about the issue.

1878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 30% hashrate drop for RX400/RX500 incoming soon? on: July 02, 2017, 07:52:03 PM
The Claymore benchmarks figures show a progressive gradual drop of up to 25% through epoch 160, which I found to be overstated compared to the actual epoch drop. Even if not fixed, adding a single $220 RX 570 4GB card can offset most of that drop. There are also indications from one of AMD's lead developers that the issue does not affect SGminer in Linux with OpenCL 2.0.

Thanks for sharing these detailed change with the latest EPOCH, but how often does the epoch change?

When will we see epoch 140,150,160?

I see there is a drop also in the dual mining mode, from your stats there is a drop from 2-3 MH/s in DCR.

P.S is DCR more profitable than SC? Can you share your configuration please, I'm using -dcri 16 and is not affecting the ETH hash rate, or dcr is more profitable than sia?

Like it explains in the video, the epoch changes about every five days and by the end of the year we will be in the 160's epoch. The DCR dual mining hashrate drop was about 0.4% as well. I use -ethi 8 and -dcri 25 for DCR with a core clock of 1150 MHz and a memory clock of 1975-2075 MHz depending on the card. I don't mine SIA, so I don't know if it's currently more profitable. You can check which coin is more profitable to dual mine with the whattomine ETH calculators.

1879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum 30% hashrate drop for RX400/RX500 incoming soon? on: July 02, 2017, 07:27:40 PM
It looks like Polaris had another drop of 0.4%. I guess every dag will be increasing, next dag expect 0.45% and then 0.53% and so on. The funny thing is, as the dag increases, your rx card becomes less and less valuable, soon gamers will buy a rx 580 for less than $150 hehe, also this is goood by the way, cause i see eth rising, soon eth will be 0.15 btc again and it might reach 0.3 in the next 2 months or so. If eth reduction kicks in then it might make eth to rise to 0.5 btc. So watch out hehe and thank me later hehe

My drop is about 0.4% for a 5-card rig of mixed RX 4XX/5XX 4GB and 8GB cards.
