Interesting research - How Do The Euro 2016 Odds Reflect The FIFA Rankings?

With the latest FIFA ranking released odds changed a little:

Based on this info I will certainly change some of my betting pattern now.

I will go for Mexico v Uruguay. Everyone is going for over 2.5 and both teams to score, but I will only go for over 1.5. I do expect some goals, but both teams don't have to many games yet, and the last ones on last year, they did not score or suffered to many goals, so I'm afraid of the over 2.5 or both teams to score.

Mexico v Uruguay
Over/Under 1.5 Goals, Over 1.5 Goals @ 1.47

This is one of the good and interesting match, both team show an equal strength, but for this time i think mexico is going to win, so i am going to bet on mexico and both team to score because both team has a great attacker
What happened to Uruguay? Their odds are a whooping 40 now when it was just 2.9 odds in my sports book right before the match  Shocked
I know it is for the home team to have the advantage but this is ridiculous  Undecided
Odds for mexico before the match was 2.29 which was near to even with their opponents odds.
Something similar happen to them that happened to Jamaica they have to play with 10 men?

edit: Now it is 50.0 odds  Roll Eyes with 66 minutes in play for the match.
What happened? Uruguay vs. Mexico is now live and Mexico is currently winning 1:0 that happened.
So now all odds are being updated to reflect that situation.

EDIT: I see that you noticed it yourself Smiley
1863  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me best trustworthy dice betting sites on: June 06, 2016, 01:22:27 AM
MoneyPot offers the widest variety of dice games on the market. Over the past several months, our network has routinely been #2 in terms of volume (according to Dicesites, with PD being #1). We have paid out wins as big as 50 BTC.
So you are saying that as long as we use any service powered by MoneyPot bankroll we are good to go?
But what is your insurance if someone will win more than you can potentially pay, say +100 BTC. Is there a plan B for you?
1864  Economy / Gambling / Re: SPORTSBET.IO - We are LIVE! Win tickets to EURO 2016 finals on: June 06, 2016, 12:34:33 AM
I have a problem.

I created sportsbet.io account, entered my username, email and password and right away I was logged into the system.

I closed the page and walk away for some time but when I tried to log in during another visit was greeted by 'sign in' popup - where I imagine I have to enter my email and password, right?

But when I click on green 'sign in' box nothing is happening - oh and there is: google authentication check box too!

But I don't have google Authenticator, so how I can log in from now on?

You dont need to tick the google authenticator tick box if you dont use it. Simply put your id and password and just straight with login. Sometimes the server seems to be taking longer time to respond however it should be fine unless there is another warning / pop up saying id or password is wrong on your end
Strange it seems it was one time problem during my 2nd time log in attempt. Login button at that time was unresponsive.
Now site is working fine and I can log in with no problem; and as you said google autheticator is not needed.

I will always remember his catchphrase "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".

He was a legend who defeated every top heavyweight in his era. I wasn't around when he was fighting but I wish I could bet on his boxing matches.

He was the king of the golden age of heavyweight boxing. RIP.
1866  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is your favorite slot game and game provider? on: June 05, 2016, 01:54:38 AM
Slot games are not about profits. Most people realize that House Edge is killing factor here (it can be as high as 15% IIRC).
Some Slots are brilliantly designed piece of art. And I like especially Slot machines created by Endorphina.
Especially Satoshi's Secret - because it is Bitcoin themed slot and it reminds me of Matrix a bit.

1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alternative for martingale? on: June 05, 2016, 12:55:43 AM
Here is the English version:

Make a bunch of bets with a negative expected value and then, as expected, lose your money.

I found a pdf in English that explains it better, but it seems that you really need to download a program from that italian site to input how much you want to bet and how many bets you want to make to generate the chart that you make.

It spits out something that looks like a times table, and then you move one way on the chart when you lose the bet and move the other way on the chart. The chart seems especially useless because (at least in this roulette version I found in english) suggest skipping spins at certain times, as if that makes any difference in the world.

Plus side compared to martingale (on this particular version I found) you only lose 21 unit if you lose 10 in a row compared to martingale where you would lose a lot more (in this version I found, anyway.)

It looks like there are some apps (also in italian) on google play if you have a droid and want to play around/mess with italian, but my guess would be that it's not that great if there's been no english language translation explanation over these years.
Thanks for this description. But from what you said I am a bit reluctant to believe that this method has any practical application other than boosting ego of gullible payers.
I guess it is another method which create fake sense of security that you are winning more than you are losing.
1869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gambling espers. on: June 05, 2016, 12:48:21 AM
Just a short and quick question.

Where can I gamble espers ? Where are the best sites ?
I doubt that you will find a gambling service supporting espers. I definitely never heard of any casino supporting this altcoin.

If you are serious about gambling (or just want prime experience) you should use Bitcoin, it is widely accepted.
1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OFFICIAL EURO 2016 Information, Discussion and Tips Thread + 10 BTC FREE PROMO on: June 05, 2016, 12:11:23 AM
Today, Germany and France (that I predicted as winner in my thread by the way) have easily won. It makes me confident that it will most likely end by a final between the two teams if they don't fall in the same demi-final.
Germany 2:0 win vs. Hungary is nothing special. After all Hungarians are like the weakest team of the Euro (along with North Ireland and Albania).
Same with France 3:0 win vs. Scotland (Scotland is't even playing in Euro 2016) is not amazing showing if you ask me.
1871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OFFICIAL EURO 2016 Information, Discussion and Tips Thread + 10 BTC FREE PROMO on: June 04, 2016, 01:53:13 PM
I did my research and based on bookmakers' odds these teams have the highest chance to win group stage of the Euro 2016:

Group A: France, Switzerland

Group B: England, Russia

Group C: Germany, Poland

Group D: Spain, Croatia

Group E: Belgium, Italy

Group F: Portugal, Austria

EDIT - added username: maku
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: E-Sport Prediction , share your prediction here on: June 04, 2016, 01:38:28 PM
No Hearthstone?

Hearthstone also e-sport though, but i never see Hearthstone matches on sports betting. Dota 2, CSGO, Starcraft and LOL are accepted on sports betting.
I can't wait for new Blizzard's IP - Overwatch to join that list. I have a feeling that Overwatch could be as big as CSGO in terms of esport popularity!

Also as Smite player I am little sad that any site I visited is not offering Smite Pro League betting. Smite has over 20 millions players now, c'mon!
1873  Economy / Speculation / Re: is this the begining of the rally? on: June 04, 2016, 01:31:01 PM
Currently we are sitting on $574 which is half of all-time-high bitcoin price. But it is too early to say if this is new stable price (I feel like BTC has no stable price)
or just another pump and dump bubble like we used to see in the past. If you have doubts - the this is definitely a good time to sell some BTC.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: June 04, 2016, 01:19:04 PM
its depend on the religion you have or believe i don't think so its sin in Christianity but if you talk about Islam then its a sin in Islam

but seeing you trust rating i can tell you one thing that SCAMMING people is a sin in all religion so you should think about that 1st LOL

Gambling is a sin because it can bring up negative traits such as greed and selfishness; it’s how the world is corrupt. You have so much money but can’t share it with people around you. If you can’t control your gambling habits then it’s definitely as sin.

Your explanation sounded almost like gambling was the main reason behind constant civil wars in Muslim countries.
If you think that gambling is the reason why people are being  greedy and selfish then think again - it is pure human nature.

Gambling can be classified as problem, (or a sin as many of you would rather call it, because 'problem' is something that is caused by you, and sin is something you have very little influence over)
only when it creates more problems. Stop demonizing gambling - there are people who gamble responsible out there.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coppa america 2016 dicussion on: June 04, 2016, 01:06:40 PM
I think Chile will be a champion copa america centenario, because of the great team that there were many problems and it is unfortunate trio MSN Barcelona no possibility to compete as opponents

Chile being a champion is definitely a possibility. So far my top 5 teams of this tournament are:

1. Argentina - I think with every player playing they are the strongest team in this competition.

2. Brazil - Strong second place.

3. Chile - it seems they are bit weaker that Brazil currently is.

4, 5. Mexico an Uruguay.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International Games Prediction Thread on: June 04, 2016, 12:57:53 PM
Looks like everyone on germany today

I like them to. Kinda scares me when lots of people are on
the same side
Lets face it. Slovakia is far more better team than Hungary is. Hungary is probably the sedond worst team of Euro 2016 (Albania is the weakenst IMO)
Plus after that defeat against Slovakia Low would like this match to be spectacular win. There is no need to worry.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coppa america 2016 dicussion on: June 03, 2016, 04:50:39 PM
Brazil, uruguay and Argentina.

Brazil = Neymar
uruguay = Suarez
Argentina = Messi

yeah I think it is a good candidate to become a champion Grin
Last time I watched tournament with all these teams in - World Cup 2014, they had these players you mentioned and it did not help them much.
Football is 11 vs. 11 game - and not battle of individuals amazing team will always win with mediocre team with 1 or 2 exceptionally strong players IMO.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do winning and losing gamblers have different personalities or habits? on: June 03, 2016, 04:29:40 PM
First, if we observe the personality and characteristics of a large number of people gambling at the following games, will we notice any similarities, or any differences?

  • Slot Machines
  • Scratch Tickets
  • Craps
  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Dice
  • Poker
  • Lottery
  • (add your own game if I forgot to include it)

Are people with certain characteristics drawn to play some games, and to avoid others, or do we find an equal distribution of personalities among the games?
From that list you posted only Poker players could be somewhat different animals than others. If you think about it: in every other game your skill, habits and dedication is insignificant.

It doesn't matter how hard you try to win in Dice or Slot machines - there is no one who can title himself great Slot Machine Player or master of Lottery after all.

Pure luck based games are all the same and I don't see any difference they create in gamblers.
1879  Economy / Gambling / Re: I will give away 1 BTC in Dragon's Tale if Bitcoin hits $574 on: June 03, 2016, 03:29:01 PM
I heard many times about this game but I actually never played Dragon's Tale before.
Will it be OK to create new account for the sole purpose of using it to participate in that tournament/giveaway?
Or only accounts created before this announcement will be eligible to participate?
1880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How police think about Bitcoin enthusiasts ? on: June 03, 2016, 03:20:21 PM
Lets be honest here:

1. Society knowledge about cryptocurrencies and bitcoin in general is really poor. Most people heard the word 'BITCOIN' but that's it.

2. People are usually only repeating information they heard on Tv - and we all know what kind of info mass media are spouting about bitcoin usually.

3. Most people lack basic knowledge about monetary system and economics, they take FIAT + Bank hegemony is ideal and the best system.
