1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 26, 2022, 04:52:08 PM
I quite appreciate their current performance, Arteta was able to change Arsenal's game with amazing results. But even so I'm not so sure Arsenal will be able to maintain its position at the top of the standings. Because they have to prove it when they meet Manchester City, if they are able to get past City's obstacles then their motivation will double and the chance to win the championship will be more open.

I enjoy how Arteta's performance has given Arsenal a good output, many people criticized his effort last season, but he changed the narrative, and now everyone believes in his path. I hope they succeed, but I'm skeptical about their approach because of the distance between Arsenal and Manchester City. I'd want to see something similar to how Napoli has handled other teams in Seria, but I know some would say it's not fair to compare the Premier League to the Farmers League.Cheesy

For example, Arsenal can lose when they meet Manchester City in a match, Arsenal can still be at the top of the standings because Arsenal's point gap with Manchester City is five. So that Arsenal has the opportunity to maintain itself at the top of the standings until the end of the season if other teams apart from Manchester City are unable to beat Arsenal in the second half of the season.

This means that Manchester City must expect Arsenal to lose two more times in matches with any team in the Premier League and Manchester City itself must win more in order to be at the top of the standings.

Easier analyze than the reality, Arsenal did well last season and ended it from top to bottom ending the league in Europa. Not saying it is going to happen again but as they say, football always surprises, and since Manchester City hasn't relented in any way so far, be ready for the impossible to become possible.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 26, 2022, 04:24:51 PM
It's not over for Saudi Arabia, they can still win in the last game and move on. Poland won now and it was a really good game. Lewandowski is his first goal in a World Cup, very nice for him. Who bets on Mexico to win today? The Argentina line-up i missing Julian Alvarez and Paulo Dybala. They should play, so even more ofensiv Football I think.

Hopefully, Mexico will not play a dirty trick on Argentina, or otherwise, it will be game over for Saudi Arabia. The encounter will be more defensive and attacking for Mexico and Argentina, as both sides are battling to qualify and avoid defeat. Saudi Arabia had all of their chances, but they got vulnerable when they allowed the first goal, and to make matters worse, Salem missed the penalty, seems they are still looking for Messi.  Grin

The Saudi Arabia vs Poland match has already ended with the whistle of the referee. Poland defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 in today's match. I think a penalty is a big asset and a big opportunity in a match but if that opportunity is not taken then the match can never be turned around. But Saudi Arabia had such an opportunity but they could not use that opportunity. However, Poland tried to exploit the maximum opportunities that Saudi Arabia could not. I couldn't find any similarities between Poland's game and the game Saudi Arabia played against Argentina. Saudi Arabia's World Cup mission is not over yet, they have a match against Mexico ahead, if they win that match against Mexico, Saudi Arabia will qualify for the second round. Hopefully they will come back much stronger in the next match.

Missing a penalty isn't a big thing, but the trouble arises when the squad becomes obsessive in their pursuit, which is what Saudi Arabia does. A team might lose a penalty and draw the game, and they could also win the game, depending on their strength and ability. Let us not forget that Poland's squad has strong players like Lewandoski and is now at the top of the table, preparing for the next level.
1863  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie I stay off shitcoin and it paid off, Bitcoin is the king. on: November 25, 2022, 10:31:58 AM
After I started my Bitcoin holding journey a few months ago,
At that time, my close friend Sam! also have some capital he want to put away in cryptocurrency, and I advised him to buy Bitcoin instead of an altcoin. But instead of him to have a long-term potential mentality, he was looking for a quick profit so he filled up his portfolio with shitcoin, while I went in on a single portfolio of Bitcoin and when the unexpected of FTX hack happen the whole market in shamble and his altcoin portfolio have dropped above %800+ but my bitcoin holding still maintains some level of stability.

This gives me more confidence in Bitcoin and newbie who are looking for long-term holding should hold more bitcoin, in their private wallet to avoid exchange, but your knowledge to always have a good entry price.

When it comes to earnings in the crypto sector right now, even bitcoin cannot compete with altcoins' performance, they are quite good at producing nice ROI, but their drawbacks might make you hate the crypto market. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is quite safe, it has a high return but not as high as altcoins, but it does not crash as frequently as altcoins do, and it is less volatile since bitcoin is more decentralized than altcoins. Only with altcoin projects will you see a token/coin concentrated in the hands of teams and groups of people who may crash the price as they see fit, which does not happen with bitcoin.
1864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A reminder about the media on: November 24, 2022, 09:37:01 PM
People should be aware that the media can both make and destroy them, the media will always claim to be for the truth, but in fact, they are just interested in traffic and revenue for their authors.
I recall when bitcoin was making waves, setting new all-time highs, it was all bull headlines upon bull headlines but a little negative news, they will write more than what is required or needed for investors, which leads me to believe that the media always has short or open positions in the bitcoin market, they know they control the market and they know they can change people's views on the market and they use that to their advantage, don't listen to the media. It's no surprise that Donald Trump never takes them seriously.
1865  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk want to buy bitcointalk on: November 24, 2022, 09:22:27 PM
So we not surprise when elon reach into his deep pocket to buy twitter in billion dollar. Because he have unlimited money.

I was imagine when he find this forum that look unique because Satoshi was create this forum like he create bitcoin,
and after he look unique and look philanthropy then he want to buy this forum,

are you guy agree if Elon buy bitcointalk forum?,
that look superior if bitcointalk owned by a richest person like elon.

I saw what you did there! Nice click bait with the topic to get users attention and thanks for your name by the way, it will help others know more about not a keys not the bitcoin to more people.

Now, let me return to your question.
The Bitcoin forum was created by Satoshi himself, then it was BitcoinForum, but prior to Satoshi's absence from the forum, he left the forum operations to people he trusted in the bitcoin forum at the time, but unfortunately, it was hacked but the logs and backend database were properly saved and the New Bitcointalk forum was born without any donations from outsiders, it was all within the forum and thanks to Theymos. The forum, like bitcoin, is never a centralized body, it is for the people and will remain in this manner.
1866  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is like a venereal disease-- Charlie Munger on: November 24, 2022, 09:02:35 PM
The rate at which these folks express their desire to dislike bitcoin will only serve to increase its strength and power on a daily basis. Do you know why they keep spreading negativity against bitcoin and its users? It's because they failed to realize what bitcoin might do earlier and regrettably lost the opportunity to buy it while the price was cheap.

Only Heaven knows how these men would have shilled bitcoin if they had the opportunity to purchase billions of satoshi when the price was less than $10, but it is just as well that they didn't because they are the kind of people who will only care about themselves and not the needs of others if they ever get to own any. We are equally fine without them, and they are not needed either.
1867  Economy / Economics / Re: Corrupt people in crypto on: November 24, 2022, 08:14:10 PM
A lot of bad incidences happened in crypto community this year including:

1) FTX
2) Luna
3) Gemini Earn
4) Celcius
5) Voyager
6)BlockFi

All these incidences happened because of the greed of some people. It is important to control the entry of these kind of people as developers or people behind some new crypto projects. Otherwise people will have very less trust left on crypto in general and people will move to other alternatives. What do you think are the required steps to prevent these incidences from occurring in future ? Or are these unavoidable ?

I am pleased that these fake companies are falling down  because it will assist to increase openness in the crypto industry, weeding out the bad actors, which is what cryptocurrency is all about. Just look at the CEOs of the companies that failed this year, they were all running or had previously worked in one or more TRADFIs, they thought the dirty games they were all playing could be done in the crypto space, but I'm glad they were exposed, there is no tolerance for corruption in this space.

Centralization has always been a problem for cryptocurrencies, but if Merkle trees or proofs of reserves can demonstrate some transparency from these companies, I welcome the idea and don't care about their privacy because they gave it up when they made the decision to become centralized, which means they work for the public rather than for private interests. All of them should provide proofs of reserves, though I wouldn't use them if I did, but for the confidence of those who do.
1868  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that an employer should hire employees who are smarter than him? on: November 24, 2022, 06:59:29 PM
I was listening to a YouTube video by a famous business man and he was saying that he prefers to hire employees who are smarter than him. Do you agree with this style of working?

What is the point of hiring someone if they are not smarter than you? Have you seen Elon Musk's Space X empire and his workers? Everything in the company is done by scientists because they know the job better than him, but credit goes to Elon. You will never see a headline that says employees invented this or outshined the CEO, they always work in the shadows while the employer enjoys their hard work.

Quote
What are the possible intentions behind doing this? Isn't their fear that these smart employees can steal ideas from office or get client details and then start their own companies? What is your view regarding this?

Employers are very careful about how they give or share their trade secrets or intellectual property with anyone, which is why you see that companies do have restricted areas that are off-limits to some staff members. All companies have trade secrets and trademarks, which are what protect the company against copying from other potential people who have a similar interest in operating a similar business or stealing ideas.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/twitter-crypto-head-staff-resign-190633380.html

It is well known fact that a lot of Twitter employees are leaving the company. Now the news that Tess Rinearson, who was made the head of Twitter crypto team has made a tweet stating that he is leaving the company. Many other people in the crypt unit of Twitter space also followed her and announced that they will also be leaving the company. What impact do you think this will have on crypto space in general ? I am sure they must be working on crypto inclusion on the platform in some way and now when they have left the decisions will be delayed in this matter.

What can a centralized platform possibly bring to crypto if not providing genuine information to those who are interested in crypto? Nothing else is imaginable, especially since Elon has already purchased his thing. Because they recently spent $40 billion, which is still a pain in the ass, they are aiming to cash out income and increase the revenue from the Twitter badge rather than the favouritism that has been happening. I noticed a tweet that showed a photo of Twitter workers with fewer females compared to when it wasn't sold out, which is why Twitter was blocking accounts that advocate anti-feminism, which isn't a terrible thing if they lower the amount of them, Twitter will remain crypto friendly with or without them.

Bad economic situation creates more crimes always.
Right now crime is going on and more need to spend for security so If the Fed and all others central banks Will turn off the printers it's not cheap becouse what they do with crimimals.

Soon many people need bodyguards and not good to drive Even in Western countries with flashy cars crime are rapant.

So anyways we all want safe life so we know solution we got to turn on money printers and make sure inflation not going high.

Back in the days people use to be soft more but now people cant handle dangerous surroundings.

Not only does a bad economy, but when the economy is managed by corrupt officials, it breeds many crimes among residents. The United States is not the only place where crimes occur; I will use my own country as an example, where some youths have symbolised cybercrime as a means of hustle and ways to earn money, where militants destroy the grid and oil pipeline just to get back at the government and the never-ending insecurity that has been rebranded by different regimes, all of which are the result of government failures to provide basic necessities for the youth. Peer pressure, which is one of the issues we have in our society, also leads to crime.
1871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All the Alt Coins ar going to wiped out but bitcoin will resurect from the dead on: November 23, 2022, 02:32:22 PM
If Bitcoin price fall down further then all the Altcoins will be dying soon. Bitcoin will resurect and finally the day of justice will come secretly.

If all the altcoin die up then who will resurect all those illegitimate altcoins ?

My first commandment was, " thou shall not fork Bitcoin". All those forked coins must die up.

Who on earth still fork Bitcoin?  Cheesy

If you look closely, there is a force of attraction that bitcoin usually has that draws altcoins towards it; whenever bitcoin makes an upward movement, the altcoins have ways of following up with cool updates and FOMO, and what is even more interesting about them is that they used to outperform bitcoin in terms of return and profits, but whenever there is negative news in the market, the altcoins bleed the most. Bitcoin is the only decentralized asset without tokenomics, without foundation, without CEO, without some team doing shady moves to enrich themself but instead for the people.

Cathie wood tells bloomberg she thinks 1 bitcoin will worth a million dollars by 2030

I was actually reading through my FB page and I came across this post which looks very catchy to people's attention which might likely have a very bad interpretation to those who doesn't understand how the market works. Lots of argument has been going and series of funny comments as well so decided to share over here if I could get something obtainable from individual here.
Read more news here.

Note this is not a financial advise, I just posted here for funny and to see how people thinks about bitcoin within 7 to 8 years to come just Cathie did.

Another Bullsh!t!  Grin

Bitcoin will grow and organically break many prices that people do not expect, but what I dislike about some of these investors is that they make nonsense assumptions, they are the type of people who have created hype about bitcoin in order to fill their rich pockets with bitcoin rather than allowing bitcoin to grow organically. If bitcoin grows in adoption, no amount of FUD will bring it down, the fear of selling and being dumped on would be something of the past, but unnecessary posts and misleading information have led some people to invest in bitcoin, and when their expectations become clouded, they panic and sell, believing that bitcoin is a scam. Sigh!
1873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What feature of Bitcoin do you think is most difficult to understand? on: November 23, 2022, 09:31:49 AM
Bitcoin has many features that make it the greatest money ever created, but sometimes it’s difficult for non-technical people to understand how to use these features. There are very smart people working on Bitcoin, and I think sometimes they assume coding terms they use everyday should be easy for everyone to understand.

What features do you find difficult to use? Maybe we can help each other understand, or find serious user experience (UX) problems that can be solved.

For example, Bitcoin has a timelock feature that can create a transaction that is impossible to spend until a certain date or block height is reached. You can do this using OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY, but it seems most people don’t know how to use this feature or where to even begin.

Some people seemed worried about self-custody and storing their private key or seed phrase securely. Hardware wallets make this easier by requiring a pin or password to access your Bitcoin.

I believe that everything about bitcoin is difficult to comprehend, but most of the basic elements for self-custody have been updated by hardware wallets to provide everyone with a starting guide and simplicity. Nothing about a personal wallet needs to be complicated; the only thing you need to do is ensure that you properly back up your seed phrase or recovery phrase, and if there is a passphrase, that you have it all backed up and safe.

OP CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY opcode is one of the bitcoin scripts, there are others that you are actually running making simple transactions but they aren't visible until you use an explorer to see what kind of script you run and with your private keys or a seed phrase, you can run this script with Bitcoin core smoothly but you must understand how bitcoin scripts work.

1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 22, 2022, 10:55:34 AM
That is why some people prefer gambling this is their so-called therapy outside their office, I read people feel good after they do mahjong or card games or play in online casinos and just the rush after watching horse racing, there's something in gambling that if done in moderation you will feel good about it, it will fall into an entertainment category if you do it moderation, moderation is the key.
but sometimes , it will lead to another problem like overspending. We should learn how to manage our eagerness to win and to play frequently, there's a major impact of our emotions in the way we see gamble, and for me when we are sad , we should not play and we should not make it as our outlet to release emotion I do not know if someone will agree to me but only play when you are okay, so that it will not lead to another problem and issues, stabilize your mind so you can play without any problem.

I thought that eagerness to win in gambling is the spirit but should be done with moderation as the other guy said wouldn't have a negative effect on the player. I don't know about casino games and their Iteration and programmable events reoccurrence but I know for sure that in sportsbook, if you bet an amount and the ticket got cut, you have to go again with a fresh strategy. If the match you predicted doesn't favour you, the next one will do because the match you actually have in mind and refuse to stake sometimes ends up being the one that use to go as predicted in your mind, all you need in gambling is patience and moderation.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 22, 2022, 10:40:49 AM
You are underestimating how much profit the online Crypto casinos are making. Most of the deposits and the bet amounts are also adjusted with the current Crypto price, so they are not even feeling the impact of the crash.

Also, remember that most of the coin balances are only an entry on their internal database... so they can basically hold USDT or some other stable coin... and just convert some of that to their hot wallet, when needed for withdrawals.

They can even convert some of the coins into Fiat currencies... deposit it into a Bank and receive interest on that money. We will never know, what they do with their whole Bankroll.  Roll Eyes

Yet, you also underestimate the amount exchanges make from insider trading! There is nothing a trader can do to outsmart the exchanges because before an announcement is made, they know it before the traders do, they are always market makers ahead of many traders and where did FTX lead us today, they were behind doors using people funds to cover up their tracks and shady background investment they were doing, Alameda was even at a point of been liquidated and FTX helped out with some the funds, hence the reason why they owed big amounts of debts.

What exactly am I saying? Gambling companies can go bankrupt if they risk with players' money, and if they don't have another option, bankruptcy will be declared, leaving players with nothing. It is wiser to cash out your money when the earnings have piled up.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 22, 2022, 10:26:05 AM
Is it true that Karim Benzema will miss the World Cup? I read in the news that the injury is quite severe. is there any additional information about this? if that's true. I think France is really having bad luck in this World Cup. because several key players were declared Absent due to previous injuries. now added to the news that Benzema also could not participate in the World Cup due to injury.

This wasn't announced today, I think he came back prior to their training but unfortunately, got another injury in the training again, which is a piece of bad news because he wouldn't be going to the world and I'm so sad about the news but the good news is that he wasn't there the last time France won the world cup and he isn't the only notable player that is absence, Kante and Pogba are also out of the squad. If Mpape did well in the last world cup, they can still do it again, in fact, you should go through the list of qualified France squad that will be representing them, it will help you restore some faith in them.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 22, 2022, 09:38:54 AM
I haven't gambled in a long time, but the FTX bankruptcy brought me more losses than gambling.
So, that's fine, you only live once. Do sth make you happy.

The question is, are you a gambling addict? Not exchange funds or keep funds on any centralized exchanges. You gambled actually by leaving your money on the FTX exchange because you trusted their judgement initially on their small developments but that doesnt make you an addict, you did that because you trust them being a non-custodial exchange is in form of gambling and not addiction. Whatever the outcomes, I hope you find a way to stay happy, if they reimburse you, find a personal wallet to save them and if they don't, believe there is always a second chance and that you don't just live once but live every day with hope to see another day, don't lose that hope.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Rate The Casino's Support You're Playing on: November 22, 2022, 09:23:18 AM
I'm disappointed with one casino I'm supporting because their action is unreasonable and on how they address the accusation they hurdle against them.

I hope you know that customer care/support is a just human being like you, your problem is to be directed to the right channel through him with a Reference No, it is not his call to do it or get it delayed. If the team decided not process your request, then a player should also know that is above his power.

Quote
Do you think support should not attack the personality of the player and concentrate on the issue?
Do you think casino management should get support with backgrounds in human relations and psychology to understand the action and behavior of the complainants and address it in a proper way?
Do you think support can make or break the casino's reputation?

Give me at least two or three casinos with outstanding support, that you wish other casinos should emulate.

Being customer support for any company is a job that requires some level of patience and tolerance, it is their responsibility to satisfy the customer and make sure any complaint is brought to the help desk when there is any, the reaction or words of players shouldn't upset the customer care but as I have said we all human and any rude player can go over bad and it is not all supports will take some sh!t. Also, I don't think support can break a casino because most of the time, they are usually more than one person that often does the shifting as a customer support job.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 21, 2022, 10:56:57 PM
Hello guys, as an attempt to protect new or old users on this forum , I think its mandatory for gambling sites to show proof of money they are holding in reserves  . Unless casinos converts all deposits to a stablecoin , excluding UST hahahah , from year to date most of them should be running on a loss as most utilized crypto coins are down by atleast 65% and that includes Bitcoin .

There will be more and more accusations  created to existing and also new casinos.

Goodluck,Be safe and smart out there!!

I never give it a second thought, but perhaps centralized exchanges function differently from casinos. People keep money in centralized exchanges as non-custodian for safety; depending on the level of trust a user has in the exchange, they may keep it there for months or even years. On the contrary, gambling just requires a deposit, play, and withdrawal of winnings.

I'm not sure how casinos truly operate behind the scenes with regulators and their licenses, but if they ever manage to secure the consent of a nation to permit its players to play, they should verify these things but may choose to withhold them from the general public for security concerns. Thus, If a casino fails, it will have little or no effect on the bitcoin price, unlike exchanges.
