1861  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija board service thread, how una reason am? on: December 14, 2023, 04:16:56 PM
The idea de good because I don see say di forum no be only about Bitcoin, matter, e de accommodate oda discussions wey no concern cryptocurrency. I don even see for some boards wey some members de advertise dem work and people de show interest to patronize dem. Aldo e for good if OP tell us some kinds of businesses wey im feel say we fit run for di forum? Because I believe say na only service businesses na im we fit do for forum, I no know weda buying and selling go de possible, based on say na anonymous forum be dis. How we wan take supply goods wey the identity of di buyer no go reveal?

So if we go get service thread, that wan go good, but I no go too support advert of physical goods, e go just be thread to advertise services wey you fit to share with customers or clients online. The most important aspect go be to get reputable members wey go fit do escrow services for di thread, or become our local trusted Marchant wey we go fit do p2p transactions with, instead of going to exchanges to change our coins to fiat.
1862  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold is up to new ATH, silver is up, BITCOIN IS BACK BABY!!! on: December 14, 2023, 01:15:20 PM
I don't think, investors will quit Bitcoin that is about to moved to another level where investors will begin to see what they have not see since the beginning of this year just to alert their investors, what is coming soon will be massive for Bitcoin investors. Gold and silver has lose many customers to Bitcoin when the price of Bitcoin hit $69,000 last two years for long term and short term holders to used the opportunity to achieved a lot of income that gave other people mind to withdraw their money from gold and silver investment and invest the money in Bitcoin. It is no longer a news that bullish season is very close to those that prepared well to buy Bitcoin when the price was low in the market to enjoy massive reward soon.

No doubt Bitcoin, is on a massive pump road that leads to ATH destination, and with the way price is pumping it's an indication that we should expect a bountiful bull run. So to all Bitcoin believers, despite the relatively high price now, we shouldn't relent in our efforts to continue to accumulate and hold the valued asset, because it'll surely reach and go beyond $100k in bull run proper. From my observation the awareness and adoption of Bitcoin, is now on the increase because of the testament of the recent price pump, people are telling other people to invest in Bitcoin, before bull run.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 14, 2023, 12:04:33 PM
A hero to himself but a fool to others.

This is simply how I see it because of the fact that he cannot control himself hence the Fool and because he did it to himself to save himself, then he is a hero for himself. That's just how I see it and if that's the only way he can, then it's good he did it to help himself.

A weird take on this is he can still play. I mean I would understand if it's online but if it's land based, it's still weird. It's like the ban is not there if he could still play. The Hero turned into a Fool since it's like that lol.

His method might seem foolish to some and heroic to others, but so far it worked for him even if the move might seem foolish, in the end it stopped his gambling addiction, then I guess he is the conquering hero. I once read in a book that result is more important than method, so the end justifies the means, because he was able to use a method that seems foolish to most of us, then eventually got his desired result, I'll have to label him a winner and hero. What if he had chosen a more convenient method like getting help through therapy and in the end he still finds himself in casinos, still losing money? So in conclusion, it's better to use foolish method and get the job done than to use wise method without positive result.
1864  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is hard!!! on: December 14, 2023, 11:08:50 AM

if they are dumb enough to see trading as ponzi scheme then certainly they didn't understand it and exactly the reason they failed.

the success stories of traders are enticing that is why when they say they are just following certain trading strategy laid out by someone like when two moving averages cross paths, you can sell, and when boom. earn thousands a day.  some of it is true but because every trend is different, a strategy doesn't work all the time.

.

This is truly a misconception by people who are ignorant of how Bitcoin, trading works, they think that you can just put in your money and the next thing is start earning. Others simply see Bitcoin, trading as gambling, where you trade and depends solely on luck to make profit, you'll trade blindly and accept any results, either win or lose. Traders in Bitcoin, knows that trading and gambling shares same risk factor, gambling depends on luck, while trading requires the knowledge of fundamental and technical analysis to predict outcomes, without which it becomes gambling.

Trading in actual sense is hard, no doubt, because despite all the technical know-how and predictions, you can still have loses at the end of the day. But if you have a good knowledge of how the market supply and demand works, how crypto news works, then you can minimize loses.

1866  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: December 14, 2023, 09:20:34 AM

Political power is said to be the ability to control people in a country without problem.but too much political power bring about dictators.

There is a popular saying that power corrupt, but absolute power corrupt absolutely.

The saying that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, is very correct, because the desire to control others is part of human nature. Everybody is humble until you put them in power or they rise to position of power, this is when that part of human nature that tends to control others will begin to manifest. And as absolute power is atained, the desire to control will become absolute, anybody that stands in the way becomes an enemy that should be crushed. It'll take great efforts and high discipline to do away with this natural desire to control.

One of the reasons why you'll agree that it's human nature to control others is where you have a powerful leader that controls his subjects, his subordinates will have the desire to usurp him and take over power to continue  the control of others. Even the critics of the regime, when given the opportunity to be in power might be worse off than their predecessor. So it takes exceptional integrity to be in power and not abuse it.

1867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as payment option for clients on: December 14, 2023, 08:11:28 AM
Bitcoin as payment option for clients

I recently joined this great forum as a UI/UX designer who's interested in investing in Bitcoin. I've decided to use the Bitcoin payment option so that I can start investing in Bitcoin straight with my earnings because my interest in Bitcoin investing has increased.

1. How can the transaction process be optimized for maximum security?
2. What metrics are available for measuring transactions?
3. Which wallet is the best to safeguard my funds and ward off con artists and hackers?

You've been been generously informed about how to access the Bitcoin Blockchain and preferable wallet to use, so it's left for you to open the links that have been shared and increase your knowledge. I'll just tell you that  Bitcoin, is an alternative means of payment and your clients needs to have Bitcoin, wallets too, before you can comence transactions. You have to consider Bitcoin, transaction fees, it sometimes gets very high, like we experienced lately, this is because of the congestion in the mempool. So who bears the high fees, is it you or your clients? There's alternative of lightening network, but you'll have to master it's complexities. Also transactions can delay sometimes, and what if you need to confirm payment on time? This are some of the things that you also need to consider before fully adopting Bitcoin, as a means of payment. Bitcoin, payment however guarantees privacy between you and your clients, no third parties involved, because it is a decentralized digital currency.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rewriting Content's Future: Fafy Token's Journey to Empower Creators on: December 14, 2023, 07:06:52 AM
Most of the comments on this thread are by the OP,  and the other two members that commented didn't give a total pass mark on the advertised token, I'd love to see more comments and decide. I've never bought into any projects before, it has always been Bitcoin, for me, and my only consideration after it will be Ethereum, but I'm eager to learn about new creations, I might decide to gamble my money on one. So your Fafy token, might just be it, but I'm not so convinced yet, thanks to the other two comments.

Anyways I like yours marketing strategy, but you have to take into consideration of the points that was raised by the other members. I wish you all the best.

1869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help with the Bitcoin richlist on: December 13, 2023, 08:48:33 PM
What is your actual purpose in looking for this data? would you make an article about them. If it's true, that's good, but you have to remember that all data only displays the ownership address, for identical data it may be anonymous and besides that, you can search for it in several popular data analysis tools including CipherTrace, Chainalysis, and CoinMetrics and data from Catenaccio can be used as a reference too.

I know for sure OP will have a very unique purpose why he/she is demanding for this data. But if the purpose for it is so unquie that other can learn from it, it will be good if OP can write an article about it for other in the forum to learn.

I'm with you on this, because it'll be good if OP has a unique reason for requesting Bitcoin, rich list, except for showing the fact that we have supper rich investors in Bitcoin, I don't see any meaningful reason to have the list. The list does not have any impact in the supply and demand of Bitcoin, because the identify of the wallet owners are concealed. Anyways I'm glad that he's able to get what he wants, and let it be useful for him, he perhaps wants to keep the list as a motivation for him to aspire to be like them.
1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 13, 2023, 07:42:13 PM
From past few weeks whenever I open any browser or social media all I could see is some random blogs and news about Altcoins which will have massive pump and which coins I have to invest.
Well as bloggers or vloggers thats precisely what they will do. But we have our option to check first what they are shilling. Its always our prerogative to follow or not those calls. We cant say they are wrong but surely they got some narrative for that speculations cause if not then they are just trying to pump their bags and exit as soon many people put up liquidity. Not all social blogfers are leeches some are literally good on providing information but of course we cant deny presence of garbage influencers too.

The thing is that we need to do our own verification first before believing any altcoin hype on social media, due diligence is very important before jumping to put money in any new projects. Some influencial people are paid by these fraudsters to promote their scam projects, and they greedily accept because they're well paid for the promotion, not knowing the true intentions of who hired them. This is why I'm never moved when I see celebrities advertising brands, because they're just business people that are paid to do a job, ignorant people will think that if this celebrity can advertise a product that means that it's genuine. When i see a new crypto coin being advertised, I take it on advisory level, because with my knowledge i know that most of them will end up shitcoins.

1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i need your help, i forget to save the latest word of my seed on: December 13, 2023, 05:55:58 PM
If you haven't saved your secret phrase then you can do that later on. All the non custodial wallet service provider support this features. Not only one time you can see your phrase as many times as you want. Just make sure you stored it somewhere safe so that you don't need to frequently see the phrase from the wallet because sometimes our digital device has malware on it that can take screenshots of our desktop and this will lead our wallet to be compromised to the hackers.

Is the malware from the developers of the wallet or scammers finds their way to actually install it? Because it's really scary to learn that it can take screenshots and expose our private details to hackers. So how do I know this and what measures can I take for prevention so my wallet will not be compromised?

1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchange HTX sees outflows top $258M following exploit on: December 13, 2023, 05:13:25 PM
so I urge any users to drain their exchange wallet before a hacker does from HTX.
If they don't lose it through a hack on the platform, then they'd prolly lose it if (or when) the exchange collapses. All of these are indications that the exchange's days are numbered, and that is why quite a lot of people are rightly moving their money out of it, i actually hope that majority of these people are moving these funds into their non custodial wallets and not into another exchange. It is crazy, but people actually do it, one exchange is about to collapse and they withdraw their money into another one, i don't know why it is so difficult for people to understand that they should keep their assets in their non custodial wallets only.

It beats my imagination too on why someone who has been in the crypto space for some time will not learn that it's not safe to leave their coins in an exchange. Except for newbies who are not knowledgeable about the crypto market can make this mistake and it'll be understandable. The way exchanges are being hacked and are going down is now alarming, how can people regain full trust in there services again, these are very sad developments for the crypto industry. How can crypto adoption increase with these hacks and exchanges going down

I guess that the technology of exchanges are been compromised, and these might be the reasons for this ugly trend. An exchange in Nigeria, called Patricia, started it's services and within a short time it gained the trust of many customers, and before you know it was hacked, scammers made away with invested funds. Best thing is to do your transactions in exchanges and then move your coins into your none custodial wallet, where you have the full custody of your coins.
1873  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Abi we dey head to anoda cash scarcity again but in different way? on: December 13, 2023, 03:59:13 PM
Aldo for every festive season people de need physical cash pass than transfer, because na time to de buy plenty things for Christmas and new year celebrations. Nobody wan hear say network no de to take make payment for life chicken, abi wetin concern bus conductor with transfer money for transport fare, e de still sweet pass to dash children physical cash for celebration matter. So people de hodle fiat wey dem go spend, dat na normal thing.

But why dis year cash scarcity de peculiar be say people no wan face di hardship of early dis year for di cash scarcity matter, so to be on di safer side e better to keep some cash in di case of any eventuality for early next year, if cash go scarce again. Afterall I no think say di government don resolve di cash wahala, so you no go blame person wey de hurd cash for now.

I enter bank on Monday, and them de ration cash for customers, I ask di cash teller why e be like that and I'm tell me say dem get shortage of cash, based on say people no too de carry cash come bank again.
1874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No risk no reward on: December 13, 2023, 03:02:03 PM
No risk no reward applies in making money, in most cases the higher the risk the higher the profit, meaning that as the risk increases your chances of making profit or lose also in increases .Example in cryptocurrency is buying new altcoins, they promise giving you 100× profit, then you'll have to decide if you're willing to take the risk of buying, knowing fully well that you can either gain or lose your capital. New altcoins gives higher rewards or profits on the short term than established top altcoins and Bitcoin, but you're risking your capital to buy them because they can either live up to their hype and give you profit or turn to shitcoin and become lose to you.

In essence we shouldn't be too enticed by high risk high rewards theory, because sometimes the high risk can bring you high loses.
1875  Economy / Economics / Re: Boycotting iSrAEl's product? think again. on: December 13, 2023, 01:47:23 PM
When there are conflicts or wars between nations, people like to take sides and stand in solidarity with either of the nation that they support. I've experienced people boycotting the products of countries that they don't support,  inasmuch as it's within ones right to choose how to spend their money, boycotting popular international brands because the founder is from a country that you don't support affects the workforce of a country that you support, because it's an international brand.

An example of this is when some south African natives, will riot and kill other Africans in their country for taking over their workforce, in retaliation hudloms, will destroy and bourn down some south African, business in Nigeria. And when this happens thousands of Nigerians, that work in this companies jobs gets affected.

So for me if CEOs or small business owners don't take sides in a war or conflict, then there's really no need to boycott or destroy their investments.
1876  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 13, 2023, 12:39:43 PM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

The same luck applies to the rich and poor when it comes to gambling, it doesn't matter your financial status, the outcome will still be determined by luck. The only difference might be that the rich can afford to place more bets because they have the money, which can give them better chances of winnings. While the poor's chances of winning is limited by their small money to place bets, even if they wants to increase their chances of winnings, they wouldn't have the money to risk it. So with this analysis you'll see that the reason why the rich wins more than the poor in gambling is because they put more money in bets, therefore they have more probability to win.

Also remember that as the rich stakes more money in gambling that increases their chances of winning, they also have more loses if they don't win. Although I believe that the rich gamble for fun and not necessarily to increase their wealth. But the poor is the opposite, most gamble to make a living from it.
1877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Secure on holding my btc on electrum on: December 13, 2023, 11:33:45 AM
Is it good to store for a long term ?
It's all good so long as the device in which the wallet software is installed is secure, airgapped, and you have good seed phrase back up practices like avoiding copying and pasting the seed, avoiding cloud storage etc. You won't even see the need to buy a hardware wallet.

Although I don't use electrum wallet, but it comes highly recommended as one of the trusted wallets that has many features, and i haven't heard any negative remarks from it's users that I know. Considering the advice that you've given, I think that it'll be safe to hold your Bitcoin, on the long term in an electrum wallet.
1878  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Fatal Mistake of the United Nations on: December 13, 2023, 10:14:24 AM
Frankly I'm not very knowledgeable about the history of Israel and Palestine, regarding who the disputed regions originally belongs to, but from what I understand, the territory belonged to Israel, before they scartered or fled, and in there absence the palestians, then occupied the territory. My theory might be wrong, but that was how the story was told to me, I'd love to be corrected if my information is misleading. If my information is true, then the territory originally belongs to Israel, unless they willingly vacated the territory, but if they were forced to flee their land, upon return they have the right to fight to regain what is truly theirs. They'll reach an agreement with the settlers whether to move or live in harmony with them as settlers.

Linking Islam to terrorism is very wrong, because I don't think that the religion will teach it's faithfuls to go about murdering innocent people, I have Muslim friends and they're all responsible people who do not support terrorism.
1879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: P2P Dusting Attack And How Not to Become a Victim on: December 13, 2023, 09:05:16 AM
This attack is same as the address poisoning attack by Pmalek, I will advice you to go through that thread to have more insight in the topic.

This attack is not a thing to be concerned about just that immediately you notice it, the thing to do is move your funds to another wallet but this doesn’t have any harm yet. One of the things this does is something similar to clipboard malware where you got a slightly different address from the one you copy. So when you’re face with attacks like this do well to always check and check the receiving addresses so you don’t send the scammer funds

This thread is a very informative one for me, because I've not had this kind of experience of receiving tokens from an unknown source before, so I'll have to be vigilant now in case if I receive such scam tokens. So the best thing is to move your coins to another wallet, I think that will be the safest thing to do, thankfully the process of opening new wallets is quite easy. Lastly the verification of wallet addresses before sending coins is very important, even beyond being scammed by these fraudsters, without carefully checking to see if each letter or alphabet corresponds with what you're about to send can lead you to send coins into a wrong account. I've had an experience where I copied an address into my wallet, before sending it my mind compelled me to crosscheck first, and to my greatest surprise there was a slight difference, I didn't know how it happened, I only suspected malfunction of my phone, since then I always crosscheck before sending.
1880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: December 13, 2023, 07:39:53 AM
The year 2022 ce with a lot of instability in the entire crypto market with some altcoins such as Solana losing their value by almost 70%. Even the worth of BTC and ETH also dropped drastically living many people confused and lost huge funds to this market instability (Bear market as it is called).
As a new trader I would like to know from our experts, the altcoins with good potentials in this 2023.

This is almost one year after you started this thread, and we both know that the best cryptocurrency, by far still remains Bitcoin, and when you come down to altcoins division then it still remains Ethereum. Bitcoin, has been on a steady price pump for months now, in anticipation of the coming bull run, and I know that Ethereum, is is also warming up to maintain it's position as the best altcoins to be cashed in as we await the bull run. There are other promising top altcoins to select from ,BNB, Solana, and the rest, you'd have to do your own research and decide for yourself which one to put your hard earned money into. Although I'd be more careful if I'm to put money in new altcoins, because they're far more risky than the established altcoins, because you might put your money in a shitcoin.
