1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 20, 2023, 07:19:55 PM
Ireland took the bowling decision in the toss. But the performance of their bowlers was not good. They bowled very badly. Bangladesh collected 108 runs in the last 10 overs. Towhid Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim batted brilliantly. This is why they were able to give such a huge target. Bangladesh's collection was only 102 runs in the first 20 overs. Even then it was unimaginable that they would give such a big target. But unfortunately for Bangladesh, the match was abandoned due to rain. Bangladesh would have won this match if the weather was good.
Mushfiqur Rahim century went in vain as rain come down to rescue Ireland. Bangladesh performing too good at there home soil. 349 was a massive target and Ireland would be in trouble if they have to chase it down. Anyways Ireland will be happy at the moment since there is no result of this match. Still one more ODI to go and Bangladesh is favorite for the upcoming game.

It would be unfair to say that his century was in vain. It is going to be counted in his career statistics as an accomplishment. In addition to this, he reached the 7,000 runs mark in the One Day Internationals as well. Bangladesh could easily secure the series win in this match. Nevertheless, it was bad luck that the rain stopped the match, and Bangladesh was not able to get the win that they deserved as a result. I know it is a golden chance for Ireland to actually level the series by winning the last match.

-.-

Well, at least they are now back on track and won their game earlier but I'm still not that convinced that they are already back because what happened earlier is not that impressive to me. They could've got defeated by the Nets if they kept on making some mistakes especially in the last quarter when the Nets suddenly rallied while the Nuggets are somehow complacent because they owned the 1st 3 rounds of the game. Still not good, and for their last 10 games, they will be tested again by the heavy teams of the league.

The match between the Denver Nuggets and the Brooklyn Nets was really close. I think this is going to be a confidence booster. But at the same time, this is meant to make them understand that they are not planning to walk over the opponents that they have left. The next matches are expected to be very tough for them. I also agree that they could have been defeated by the Nets if they had made any more mistakes in that match. They will have to remember that they are probably not on track to stay at the top if they repeat these types of mistakes in the upcoming matches.
1863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early bitcoin investment for my baby on: March 19, 2023, 02:37:46 PM
Since your goal is to hold thinking on long term results (18 years from now), you should think about storing your coins safely on your own hands. That is, to not rely on any third party online platforms to keep your coins stored. You need a hardware wallet and to control your own keys.
(...)
I'm curious how the OP stored the Bitcoin they bought for the baby, they created a paper wallet? Bought a hardware wallet or any software Bitcoin wallet? It would be more amazing for OP to share how they manage to store the Bitcoin so just in case in the future, other will follow it too.
Just like me, I am planning to do it in the future for my children. Since I saw a lot of people having life insurance to their children while at very young age, so for me, I will do like what OP did.
i just wish that the OP was using Hard Wallet. Because the main problem in the long-term storage for years from a crypto asset is where it is stored. some of the cases that I have seen, many people hold their assets in several wallets, but some hackers are able to access the assets they have. I've even experienced this myself. Anyway, I don't expect him to use CEX to store his assets. I think that way because many lay people think that CEX is a safe and reliable place to hold assets long term.

Indeed, although owning a hardware wallet will cost a bit of money, once we are determined to hold it for a long time, a wallet is indispensable.  If we waste our money and store our bitcoins on a centralized exchange or hot wallet with a frequent internet connection, there is a good chance that one day we will regret our decision not to buy a hardware wallet. I don't know how much bitcoin the OP intends to accumulate for his children, but for such a long time, even with that $50 capital, it would be a huge amount after 18 years and for sure is going to be larger than the purchase of a hardware wallet.
1864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 19, 2023, 02:09:42 PM
Everyone has faced this situation with Bitcoin. I bought it in a bull market and had to sell it in a dump market.I feel it all the time So now I don't sell all amount in bitcoins, I keep a small number of bitcoins.Because to me all fund investment seems risky so also try to find other sources where there is no risk.Sometimes seeing a red market forces you to sell. But when we see a green market it encourages us.So we should not think of spending all our funds based on urgency, because then the chances of loss are high.
If we invest for the long term, we must mentally prepare ourselves so that we are not affected by market sentiment, which sometimes makes us FOMO.

but sometimes there are situations where we cannot maintain our long term investment. such as needing urgent funds is an example. and that of course feels very annoying.

Honestly, it's an uncomfortable and quite painful feeling to recall, even though selling bitcoin solved a big problem. Regrets are inevitable, but if using bitcoin to save a person or for emergencies is more important than our investment, it's well worth it. I also sold all of my portfolios to deal with important work, every time I think about it, I still feel sorry, but compared to what I received in return, I am satisfied with it all. Life doesn't always go as smoothly as we would like and we need to face it.
1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you Think might aid the global adoption of Bitcoin? on: March 19, 2023, 02:00:49 PM
The most important thing we hope to help with global adoption of bitcoin is its use case as a currency. The high interest of users to use bitcoin as a means of payment is what helps most when we expect bitcoin to be adopted. Of course it needs government support through regulation, but when bitcoin is known and used by the majority of the population regardless of its purpose, adoption is likely to be closer to success.

I don't expect governments to have to ask their entire population about adoption plans, but they just need to get data on how many bitcoin economic transactions are taking place in their country in a given time period. But anyway, I don't expect bitcoin to replace fiat even if bitcoin is adopted as a means of payment. Bitcoin is an alternative option that is expected to help many domestic and foreign transaction needs without restrictions.

It is ambiguous to expect bitcoin to replace fiat currency, and I confidently state that it will never happen. What we can expect from the government is to accept bitcoin as a commodity or, more so, as an alternative payment method that exists alongside fiat.

Bitcoin has been and is bringing benefits to people, I believe the government knows, but the problem they don't want to accept it is because they haven't found the perfect way to regulate and control us in the best way. They never accept bitcoin if it doesn't benefit them.

Real Madrid are monitoring developments with Tottenham's England striker Harry Kane, 29, whose contract runs out in 2024 and has been linked with a possible move to Manchester United or Bayern Munich. Will Kane finally leave Tottenham after so many years? If so, which club will he choose in the end? Is he coming to replace Benzema in Real?
It's a shame that Harry Kane has so far not won any trophies during his career while he has always performed better, of course next summer there will be more rumors about Harry Kane and for sure if he moves from Spurs he is very likely to win a trophy let alone move to Real Madrid to replace Karim Benzema, of course, that must be his wish in the summer.

As far as I am concerned, I think Real Madrid is going to sign either Haaland or Mbappé as their new signing. These two players seem to be the best options for Real Madrid at the moment. I personally do not think that they should opt for Harry Kane right now. This is due to the fact that either of these two players will be able to provide better performance and longer-term service to the club than Harry Kane. However, it is always a good idea to keep the pool of options as wide as possible.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 19, 2023, 08:32:24 AM
Yes, and again, one interesting numbers: Jokic didn't make a triple double, he is shy of 2 assists. And when we see this stats, it make us think that they could be in trouble if he can't make a triple double, also the scoring output though, he is to be expected to score at least 30 points.
Very though for them, maybe they are not doubting themselves again in the playoff. Last year Jamal is out and then Porter Jr has some extended injuries. But now, this season they are healthy, on top of the standings, but seems to be having problems closing out the regular season. And we might say that they are choking right now, in my opinion.
Well, they are still 4 games above the 2nd seeded Kings, so maybe these is a strategy to them. I mean kind of they will not perform 100% on their remaining games, so that they will still have the energy when playoff comes. If they know that they will retain the 1st spot with a few games remaining, for sure their key players Jokic and Murray will sit in preparation for the upcoming playoffs.
Currently, they lost 5 of their last 6 games and the only win that they got in that 6 game span was against the Pistons. They only have 11 games remaining, and it's a bit tough at least because on that 11 games, 7 of them are against teams above .500 (Warriors, Suns, Sixers, Bucks, Nets, Kings). TBH, I'm a bit worried on how the Nuggets are performing on their last games, but if they will manage to win majority of the remaining 11 games then I still think that they will retain that top spot in the West.

I understand that the Nuggets have been very inconsistent, actually very poor in terms of performance. But they are still at the top. The problem is as you said they have a lot of hard opponents going forward. It is going to be really hard for them to win in the next 11 matches because we have to keep in mind that the current form of the team is not good. It is actually simple, they will have to perform better. Unless they are going down in the standings.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 18, 2023, 03:57:17 AM
We all know the quote "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" I heard this quote when I was in high school now I'm grown up. I always wondering why?

Is it that the rich have already wealth the day they are born? Have savings and investment?

While the poor doesn't have any of those?

The point is I started in low before having some savings and investment. I'm not saying I'm already rich but I can say that I'm better than before. Can you guys share your ideas with this topic.

I agree with your quote, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer because the rich have superior access or privilege, an example of access to technology and information, but it does not rule out the possibility for the poor to become rich because we are all equal in this world, we have to study harder.

The rich have more opportunities than the poor, but that doesn't mean the poor don't have the chance to get rich and stay poor, that's not entirely true. For the development of today's world, there are many opportunities equally shared by everyone. If you were born into a poor family, it's not your fault, but if you grew up and can't change your fate, it's your fault. If you work hard and give your best, you will always have the opportunity to change your life.
1869  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: March 18, 2023, 03:51:02 AM
For me proverty is not the problem of a person but of the whole nation in my country the eradication of poverty has becomes necessary for the sustainable and inclusive growth of the let state the fate here Bitcoin has helps the poor by Increasin their savings and access to capital also it has help around 1.7million people in my country and also it has also impoverished people to control their investment.

Bitcoin is an investment, and if you want bitcoin to help you improve your finances, you need money to invest in bitcoin, if you don't have money, bitcoin will not help you. To me, bitcoin is like any other investment, which can lift someone out of poverty or make someone poorer if not invested properly. So my point is bitcoin can't alleviate poverty for anyone, you can get out of poverty or not is up to you, bitcoin or any other asset can't decide for you.
1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Random thought of a boy concerning Bitcoin on: March 18, 2023, 03:21:10 AM
Whales don't control Bitcoin they are just holders like you and I, the differences is that they hold huge amount why you hold small amount, when they sell the price most time shakes, because they can cause panic in the entire market, but it doesn't not in any way means they have power of control over the currency Bitcoin.
To the level of my knowledge and understanding. Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone.

Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone but those who hold large amounts of bitcoin, they can manipulate the bitcoin price in their favour. To me, bitcoin is still a market manipulated by oligarchs rather than relying on supply and demand. The financial market, cryptocurrency is the youngest market and has not been regulated or regulated by any government agency, so manipulation takes place a lot in the market. Hopefully, in the future, when the market is more mature, the manipulation will disappear so that we have a fairer and cleaner market.

Let's see how serious barcelont to sell de jong. De jong itself happy in barcelona but it seems like that financial problem forced barcelona to sell him. How can barcelona be claimed to be linked with messi again while at the same time it has no money?
Some clubs have been hunting him since last season. Chelsea seems interested to bring him to the stamford bridge. De jong has not decided yet his future.
Last time also financial problem forced Barcelona to almost sell De Jong but player didn't wanted to leave. This time also it will be the same drama unless player eventually gives up and makes the move. I don't think Chelsea would be still interested in signing De Jong given they have signed Enzo now unless they plan to offload a midfield player from their team.
About Messi move, I think Jorge Messi (Messi's father) denied the move couple of months ago and I also think its not possible.

It always feels like Barcelona is doing something not so legal when it comes to money. Because even though Barcelona has been justifying all the spending that they are doing on selling different rights, I think they had to make some arrangements when especially they are down by such a huge amount of money. And among those problems, I think they did not even realize a problem is going on about the contract Gavi. I hope they will be able to sort everything out properly.

I think it is just some rumors and dreams of people to see Lionel Messi back in Barcelona again. I hardly believe that is going to happen. Even if it does happen, I don't see him performing very well in Barcelona for a long period of time. Probably it will be one season of him performing badly and after that, he moves to a Saudi club.
1872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a treasure. on: March 17, 2023, 02:26:21 AM

But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?

Bitcoin is an asset, an investment, a currency, and a means of payment… it can be said that bitcoin is like a multifunctional product, and what bitcoin depends on the intended use of each person. For me, bitcoin is an investment and a store of wealth, bitcoin offers me the opportunity to earn more money than any other investment thanks to its volatility. Besides, thanks to its decentralization, I use it to store my assets in the most private way. I rarely use bitcoin for payments because I like my privacy.
1873  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 09:21:13 AM
If you have the capacity to lend someone in your family that will not gonna give huge impact to your finances then why not help them? Unless this guy has multiple unpaid loans to you then you should not lend him anymore. Human is not a natural untrustworthy, there situation just push them to become that kind of person. I have this kind of cousin too that continuously badgering me about borrowing money. I can’t give him the amount that he want but I still lend him money that I can afford.

Sometimes family is worthy than money especially if you will see this person most of the time because they knew you are financial stable which is painful for them to be turn down.
Same with my point too. It’s not hard to lend a money especially if you see that person is really in a bad financial situation. As long as you are lending your extra money, I think that will not make you financially broke. Even if that person keeps asking you for assistance, you can always give as long as you do it willingly. However, if you discover that he is just spending your money for his vices, well helping him is not worth it. By that time, you can give him some advice, but never lend him money anymore as you are only used to provide him for his vices.

Agree, lending someone money is not a big deal if we have some spare money to lend them. But the important thing is that not everyone can lend, we need to determine that person is good or bad. If they are people who don't keep their promises, don't work hard, but just play around, I will refuse without hesitation, if lending them a loan will only cause trouble. And good people who are really in trouble have no reason to refuse them.
1874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What other ways are available for purchasing Bitcoin? on: March 16, 2023, 09:03:40 AM
But one way you can buy bitcoins without the help of a bank with cash is if someone around you sells bitcoins and you are physically present to receive bitcoins from them in exchange for money called peer-to-peer transactions.

Using cash to exchange bitcoins is too risky, if you are in a country where bitcoin is still banned. It won't be a problem if you are only dealing with small amounts, but if you want to exchange large amounts of bitcoin and you need to have a lot of cash, this is dangerous for both parties. As long as fiat, the bank remains the center of the monetary world, we will not be able to get rid of our dependence on it. Bitcoin is still just an asset, a commodity, not a currency or a unit of measure like fiat.
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanging large amounts of BTC for FIAT on: March 16, 2023, 08:50:46 AM
If his bitcoins are not involved in theft or crime, there should be no problem transferring bitcoins to Binance in exchange for fiat. Another note is that you need to make sure his Binance account is KYC to avoid unnecessary trouble. Binance is still safe for instant transactions, it's just not safe when you use them to store long-term assets. But if the two of you really trust each other, why not do as you think? The two of you can trade with each other since you also have the need to hold bitcoins for the long term.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 16, 2023, 08:48:32 AM
Reading the news in the local media there is a problem regarding Gavi's contract with Barcelona. The new contract Barcelona awarded Gavi was declared invalid because Barcelona passed the deadline for Appeal. But this news does not seem to be final because it was only announced by lawyers in the field of court administration. But Barcelona did have serious problems because the court had warned Barcelona to reduce the cost of next season's expenses by no more than 200 million euros. If this matter of Gavi continues, then he only has a contract until June this year. Barcelona could lose Gavi.

Barcelona cannot afford to have a problem right now, especially financially. And at the same time, Gavi is a very important player for Barcelona. He is a player that plays a very important role for the Barcelona team right now. Losing him is not only going to cost Barcelona. The team composition that they have right now, is also going to cost financially as well. Because instead of losing him to another club, it would have been far better to even sell him. I am very sure that a lot of teams actually are ready to give 150 million for Gavi right now.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 16, 2023, 08:41:38 AM
Augsburg vs Schalke
In the previous game, Augsburg had to lose against Bayern Munich and I think they can almost match the game from Bayern Munich. But in this match they will host against Schalke who previously managed to hold Dortmund to a draw at home. If we look at the standings, Augburg is targeting a win so they can move up to 10th place in the standings and for Schalke they have to keep fighting to get away from the relegation zone this season. If we look at the odds offered by the bookie, Augsburg is very much favored with odds @ 2.32 and for Schalke odds @ 3.10, but I think I would bet more for over 2.25 with odds @ 1.70 because I think that makes more sense because both teams definitely want to get a winning result in this match.
I think maybe it's not the target to get into the top ten or be in the top ten, but I believe Augsburg are just trying to stay away from the threat of the relegation zone. Because after all, even though Augsburg has a seven-point gap with teams who are in the relegation zone, at least such a point gap still doesn't make Augsburg feel comfortable.
So yes, of course Augsburg will be looking for a win in their next game against Schalke, at least just to get into a more comfortable position and not worry about falling into the relegation zone. But yes, at the same time it seems that Schalke has also shown a slight increase in performance at this moment, so even though Augsburg is the favorite to win but still, Augsburg will not be easy to beat Schalke.
Indeed, it can be said that it is clear that Augsburg must be able to secure 3 points at home so that their position is more comfortable. However, Schalke is not an easy opponent, we know that lately Schalke has made it difficult for several strong teams such as Dortmund and Union Berlin, which forced everyone to achieve a draw. So I think it will be an interesting match to watch.

Augsburg is of course looking for three points in this match against Schalke. But I will say this, for 18 in the relegation zone, Schalke seems to be improving quickly. They did not close even one match in the last five. If they continue like this, it is just a matter of time before they get out of the relegation zone.

This Match against Augsburg is going to be important for them, actually, it is important for both teams. Augsburg is going to want to win or at the very least get 1 point from this match. Schalke is surely going to go for the win. Because they win in this match means they are out of the relegation zone.

Do you have any better suggestions for him? A get rich quick tool. It may be a very small amount to many people, but sometimes it means a lot to many people.

Its not a "get rich quick tool" i was talking about. I was talking about finding another source of income (online freelancing something like fiverr.com) or improve skill by making a forklift course, excavator course, welding course, english school (if he is not english native speaker). something that will help him get better job and safe 100$ monthly instead of 20$. That way after a year of DCA he will have 1200$ invested instead of 240$. If BTC will pump 5x its 6k$ profit instead of 1200$. I can't give an exact answer because I don't know where he lives, what he does, how old he is, and what his abilities are.

Or even get more active here on forum and get a signature campaing that pays 50$ weekly.

Understood. But I think he definitely has another job, and what he is investing is the money left after deducting monthly living expenses. I don't think there are people who refuse to work and just accumulate every penny, begging people to give and hope to one day change their lives with that investment. Or else he is very young, which could be snack money given by his parents, and he saves to invest in bitcoin.
1879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: March 14, 2023, 08:51:07 AM
i think ethereum is more than what you mentioned in leading altcoins. This is because there is not yet a single Altcoin that can compete with Ethreum. I noticed that Ethereum is worthy of mentioning the king of Altcoins.

The funny thing is, over the years, there have always been a lot of new projects coming out and saying they will replace ETH, but so far, there has not been any altcoin that can replace ETH.
ETH deserves to be called the king of the altcoin market, and I firmly believe that, like BTC, its place will be irreplaceable. Even I am pretty sure that it will give better returns than BTC in the upcoming bull season. The 2021 bull season has already happened, so it's no surprise it will happen again.
1880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my small investment on: March 14, 2023, 08:44:10 AM
Witch such small investment, even if bitcoin will go x5 to new ATH ... its still like 250$ profit in like 2-3 years. Wouldn't it be better to spend those 50$ on books/courses to get new skills that will allow you to earn more and come back with that extra money? I mean like, if you have only 50$ ... i don't know if bitcoins is the best place to put them. The timing is good, bitcoin is cheap right now, but you won't make much.

Do you have any better suggestions for him? A get rich quick tool. It may be a very small amount to many people, but sometimes it means a lot to many people.

I know what you said didn't mean to offend him, but you will probably disappoint him because he is DCAing every time he has money, he never said he would stop with a $50 investment in bitcoin. For someone who doesn't have a lot of money, but if they work hard to accumulate it for a few years and when bitcoin increases in price, it becomes a decent amount.
