1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 20, 2022, 11:31:44 PM
So this is going to be his biggest pay, if my theory is right. So probably guarantee of upward to $8 million, and Spence around $10 million.

Agree with you. Since there is no doubt, that this will be Terence Crawford's biggest fight in his career, expect that this is also the biggest paycheck he might receive regardless of the result. Errol Spence Jr. is considered as the King of PPV and will surely grab more audiences making the purse big.

If I remember it right, back then, when Crawford was offered to fight Pacquiao, a guaranteed $10 million is being offered to him, win or loss. It stated that amount will be the highest paycheck that Crawford will receive in his entire boxing career. Just correct me if I'm wrong here.

Here against Spence, he might earn more than that even the purse split will be 60/40 in favor of Spence Jr.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 19, 2022, 11:57:11 PM

It's reported that Mikey Williams now finally arrived in the country yesterday, Sunday, and is expected to join the TNT's practice this week.

However, no deal has been finally discussed and with that recent interview with Coach Chot, he blames people around Mikey for this long negotiation which the latter is not happy with that statement. This drama is now becoming too long and Coach Chot should just shut his mouth while there's no final negotiation.

I don't want to blame Mikey here if he feels he's not getting the right treatment. But for me, if he is really unhappy with the team why he is still giving chances for TNT to hire his service. He can go play straight with the overseas and forget about TNT for now.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 19, 2022, 11:46:24 PM
But in today's current status of high leagues, I doubt game-fixing is still happening.

There are sports that are easier to fix.  Those that rely on judges is the best candidate.  Aside from that, there are seldom instances where a referee's call is out of the blue.  It is either someone bought that referee or it is part of the sports commission's plan to support or build up a certain team or player.

All sports are easy to fix if aggressively will force the plan to execute but if we are talking about professional big leagues, that fixing is hard to execute. It's hard to rig a game with only officiating, referees, or judges as a participant. To make rigged games successfully, players themselves should also take part in them which I doubt will happen mostly in high leagues.

If you talk about boxing, if the result is really questionable, there are instances that it will be subject to an investigation and reversal of the results.

Indeed they are professional players but their higher-up is a professional businessman.  Grin

Even if that's the case, professional players take care of their status. No mafia or higher-ups can influence them. That will result in the permanent removal of their status as a player and maybe, a lifetime ban from participating again in any sports.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 19, 2022, 11:36:46 PM
Mark Magsayo will definitely understand and respect the fact if he will really be listed as the underdog in the fight as per sports bookies against Rey Vargas, but I don't that will happen because he's the defending champion. On the other hand, that might be good as his odds are far more greater if he'll be listed as underdog though.

Being the favorite or underdog, both boxers might not bother to think about it. Nothing special for them if they will be listed as either of those. In other words, they don't actually care for bookies' decision in providing odds for them. Clearly, Magsayo as a champion should be the slight favorite regardless of how strong Vargas is.

And besides, they are both undefeated and how come it can be a basis on "who's the stronger between these two"?

For let's say, if ever that bookies will consider Magsayo as an underdog, then it's good for us. Not just here in PH but other countries might put a bet on Magsayo too as I think it's a rare case where the Champion is an underdog. The fight is just around the corner. We should expect more odds previews in the following weeks to come.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 19, 2022, 11:26:55 PM
F***ing Bob Arum made a deal already for lineal champion Artur Beterbiev to defend his 3 belts in England against Anthony Yarde. Right after the fight, Beterbiev clearly said he wanted to unify the 4 belts in order to become undisputed. Beterbiev is already 37, time is his enemy. He needs to fight the last remaining belt holder Dmity Bivol. Canelo Alvarez a guy who always wanted to challenge himself will surely try again if that fight is for the undisputed belts. In this 4 belt era, there was never been a 2 division undisputed champion. Canelo might become the first one.

That's literally unfortunate for Artur Beterbiev because he might have no chance to fight for an undisputed fight against Dmitrii Bivol as his voice is nothing when it comes to his promoter, Bob Arum. Every boxer's dream is to have a legacy and Artur Beterbiev is definitely capable on being an undisputed fighter if Arum gives him a chance earlier because now he's turning 38 years old while the other title holder is still 31 years old. I won't be shocked if there's no one gets interested anymore in signing the Top Rank.

That was really unfortunate. Father time is catching up for Beterbiev and Bivol is still in his prime. They need to get this done.

However, if it's about money, Beterbiev will surely enjoy what he will receive. Bob Arum is maybe a fuc*ing bastard but without his influence, a fight might not generate a good income. Bob Arum knows well how to make big money in every fight he is organizing.

I'm speculating 2 scenarios here:

a) stay away from Arum's shadow after the fight with Yarde so he can demand a unification against Bivol

Or maybe,

b) Arum told Beterbiev that Bivol fight will be next if he beats Yarde
1866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 19, 2022, 11:18:54 PM
So if this fight came into reality, not sure who will be the favorite, maybe just a slight on favor on Crawford. So it's really up to Spence to show up in this fight and maybe motivated if he will indeed the underdog as he has better resume and opposition and has more belt in the table that could swing the 60-40 purse split on him.

I think it's the other way around and Spence will be the slight favorite. But odds shouldn't that gap.

We still don't know the reason why the fight is still not officially announced but based on some article lurking around, we can assume that it's about the possible split. I don't know but if it's true that Crawford doesn't like the 60-40, I think he's not the Crawford before that eyes for long in facing Spence. I think regardless of the split, of course as long as it's reasonable, he will take the much smaller cut just to settle things with Spence.

After all, if he managed to successfully beat Spence, he will become the undisputed Welterweight champion and can demand a much higher cut in his future fight. And knowing Spence, he can bring more PPV to the fight and is known to always have a sold-out ticket in his every fight. That alone is a reason why 40% is still good money in return for Crawford.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 19, 2022, 11:11:26 PM
Kuminga is good but he does not play the Center position, they need a center who can defend the paint and we saw that even Looney is not enough to defend the bigs of their opponent. They need someone that is healthy and who can play defense consistently, I think that's their focus for the next season to come.

I have to disagree that Golden State Warriors are really eyeing a Big Man to enhance and improved their defensive phase. It's been several seasons already where they are always playing a small ball. Instead of covering what's lacking in their defense, they are destroying their opponents with a good field goal percentage.

That strategy is proven and effective since then. No need for them to fill the gap for a Center position. And besides, even with a small ball, it's not that they are totally not good in defense. There are several times here in the playoffs where they are able to limit their opponent's offensive phase.

Just for a recap, the Nuggets, Grizzlies, Mavericks, and Celtics are all good teams with a good FG % in the recent season but not a problem actually for the Warriors.
1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: National Sports and Sports Betting on: June 19, 2022, 11:00:25 PM
Unfortunately here in our country, the Philippines, our national sports is not even the most talked-about sport here. We are being influenced too much by basketball since then although we are only dominating South East Asia in this sport. I don't know why we still love playing basketball despite the height disadvantages in global competition.

Boxing, billiards, and volleyball are also some of the sports that are mostly being patronized here. In boxing, there's no doubt we can compete with the most popular and big names unlike in basketball. The same goes for the sports of Billiards.

You nailed the reality in PH sports. Cheesy

The government is not even focusing on improving the sports where we are truly good. Basketball is overhyped here and I admit I'm one of those crazy people who love sports. I'm too focused on basketball that I didn't realize that Sepak Takraw is not the National sport of the country now for over a decade now. Damn, I'm ashamed lol. The National Sports here is Arnis since 2009. Believe me, some of the PH users here don't also know that lol.

Basketball and billiards are really my favorite sports here and in fact, I can say I'm good at that sports during my prime. Smiley
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: June 19, 2022, 10:54:52 PM

Depending on the level of addiction, a hardcore gambler will just go straight to their purpose of making money in gambling without realizing that something sh*t is already going on. I consider myself a regular gambler, losing a decent amount in the process, but still, I'm proud that I'm responsible outside my gambling activity and my monthly spendings are not heavily affected. But not all gamblers can be like that.

For me, once we saw a person that already falls into the wrath of gambling, we should be the one to come to that person and not the other way around. They need help that they can't voice out their problem as they are already out of their mind.

As much as possible, convince them or their family to consult a professional person or institution to help that gambler overcome their gambling problem. I'm sure in any place or region, there's a government agency or private one that helps those people with gambling problems.
1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bonus Abuse: Who is to Blame? on: June 19, 2022, 10:45:29 PM
On this bonus issue, casinos should put rules, I happen to see a lot of rules that casinos put so that people can withdraw such a bonus. I see so many rules that to this day I don't understand how people still think about abusing such a bonus when the rules for withdrawing such a bonus are not something so easy to comply with. I can only imagine that the casinos where they abuse the bonus are new casinos and they don't put hard rules to prevent bonus abuse. That's why, in my opinion, the blame for abuse is on the customers.

Obviously, there's a rule. However, abusers will always be abusers that even to the point that it's difficult to take advantage of it, they can still find a way.

That's why to somehow prevent this, the community should help the gambling site to check some bugs and flaws in the promotions or bonuses as for sure, there's a reward for it.  And making a hard rule shouldn't always be a priority. That will make new users not interested in trying the gambling site. The rules and terms should just be balanced to still attract new users to the site.

I'm sure most of us here don't like the idea of having difficult requirements to get those bonuses.
1871  Local / Pamilihan / Re: ♛♛♛The Finals - NBA Prediction Tournament♛♛♛ on: June 19, 2022, 10:37:38 PM
Ayun after long hiatus nakatapos tayo ng isang season.

I will participate on that sure yan.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: POSSIBLE THINGS TO HELP US TO WIN AT CRYPTO CASINOS on: June 19, 2022, 10:27:21 PM
I would like to ask some questions according to the article we are talking about, Is there anyone here in this forum who followed these tips before it was even posted here to win well at crypto slots or the casino? Your answers will be a great addition to the industry we are dealing with in crypto gambling casinos?

I believe those listed tips are a common and usual approach when playing at casinos. It's more to me as good advice for newbies before they decide to risk their money doing gambling at casinos. But honestly, any tips or advice can't be followed 100% as even a newbie already do their homework on what to do first, once they are now in actual gambling, they will be put in a different situation making them feel pressured to win. And in the event of loss, surely they will feel regret and disappointment.

Our own way to improve our gambling management depends only on us and while we lurk at gambling every day, we will automatically learn how to set up and form a good strategy in order to increase our winning chance rate.

Nothing beats the personal experience compared to just reading advice or any articles that claim to increase our chances of winning.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Losing MILLIONS From Gambling on: June 17, 2022, 07:23:14 AM
He had been gaming since 2010-2014. Five years of gambling, yet he didn't realized he is not that good like his prime, he must be chasing his loss like everyone who in the process resulted to more loss.

I think there are also several times that he got a big win on that 5 years period of gambling.

It's just that in the long run, the greed becomes higher that he gambles not only just about to chase the losses but to earn more money.

The big winning experience is addictive that anyone wants to feel that experience again. And to feel that experience again, they need to continue to gamble.

It must be hard to cure such gambling addiction since he make a living out of golf sport, he is expose to this sport all his life. The only way I guess is to retire and if he still gambles after that, its really getting worse.

It's really hard to bounce back coming from a big loss. Emotional damage is far more worst to deal with.

Fortunately, he now back again to his usual self and realized that it's not too late to change for good. I hope other gamblers that can't resist doing gambling even if they are totally fuck*ed up can have a mindset like that.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 17, 2022, 07:07:07 AM

When Boston Celtics allow a 21-0 run for the Golden State Warriors, that's already a sign that the team is now slowly losing its momentum after a good start. I just can't believe Celtics' momentum got crashed early in the period. Warriors successfully take over and are able to destroy the Celtics' rhythm. Even Celtics are good at coming back from a big lead, the situation a while ago is different. This is the first time in the series that the Celtics lose 3 times in a row.

It's really Golden State Warriors time! Congratulations to Steph Curry that after several Finals appearance, he now get the NBA Finals MVP that is missing on his credentials. Andrew Wiggins also did a great job. Almost an MVP contender but overall Steph Curry topped all the stats that even if they lose, he might still be the Finals MVP.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High odds or low odds, which do you prefer? on: June 17, 2022, 06:52:12 AM
I would always prefer long odds.  Anything can happen, so you can lose with good odds just like you can lose with bad odds.  At least one of them makes the payoff worth it though.  One should always consider the payout and weigh the risk/reward of any gamble.  Personally, if it's about the money I'd rather have a low chance of winning a big stack, rather than a good chance of winning slightly more than my money back.

Really depends on the situation. I'm really an enthusiast of putting a bet on high odds but if I see a certain match that I think I'm 100% sure that it will win, I'm putting a decent amount at stake for at least @1.6 as the low odds I can take. I did before a BTC0.05 on the Dallas Mavericks for @1.6 odds to feel the profits as I'm sure on that bet. It was a winning bet.

There are also other games that I put up some decent amount just to feel the profits at @1.6 odds. Well then, as long as we are good at our strategy and analysis, and that makes our winning percentage better, we just have to stick to our own preferences.

After all, our money, our rules.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bonus Abuse: Who is to Blame? on: June 17, 2022, 06:38:18 AM
That's why it is called Bonus because each players are entitled to take them out , but it is not a reason to abuse them , meaning if you are giving a  bonus just use on the limit the site has given and not to extend the advantage once we find a leak or some irregularities to the site.
so I believe that Both are to blame here, it is the team who does not secure their site? and the players who take advantage of the situation .

I just came to realize that bonus abuse isn't really because of the site's lack and poor security but rather there are flaws in the Terms. Sometimes the site thinks that everything is smooth but as always, abusers will really find a way to take advantage of those flaws. They will just realize that something not right is happening after several weeks or even months.

Instead of blaming the site, let's just help instead of the site by giving them a prompt about bonus abuse. After they confirmed it for sure a reward is waiting for the bug discoverer. Unfortunately, in most cases, the bug discoverer might also abuse first the bonus terms before reporting it lol.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: June 17, 2022, 06:28:44 AM
Personal Input:
Having this kind of tool in every online casino is really helpful but the main challenge is the people involved.  Are they willing to participate in the program?  That is the main issue unless Casino will cooperate and force implement this procedure to their players which is highly unlikely.  Aside from that this is still in the experimental stage so it is too early to say that this kind of tool will solve the gambling problem that had been in the industry since the beginning.  I think it will help but it won't make the gambling problem a thing of the past. So what do you think about this article's claim?

Personally, regardless if there's a self-exclusion or not, gamblers will always be gamblers. The only effective tool to deal with gambling problems is ourselves. People need to fight the temptation as even though there's a self-exclusion feature, there are other ways to get back at gambling at all costs.

I remember a thread complaining about a gambling site where even after using the self-exclusion feature, there are still lots of promotional emails that the person is receiving after. The user totally disappointed at that site because the person is currently on-going in a recovery period and working in the process of staying away from gambling.

It makes sense to complain since that should work but honestly, if that user is really serious, there are other ways to get rid of those promotional emails coming from that site. Aside from that, it's not the main problem as even that person excludes themselves from the site, gambling-related stuff is just around the corner even just by doing a simple walk and watching TV.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 17, 2022, 06:19:03 AM

This is the first time since 2016 that I've lost my final bet in the NBA. Not just in online betting but also in P2P, PvP, etc., and something along those lines.

Everything went well for the Boston Celtics during the early minutes then suddenly the Golden State Warriors unleashes their unstoppable offensive attacks where the Celtics are unable to answer and it seemed they just slowly accepting the fact they are now in trouble.

If a team allows their opponent to make a 21-point run in the Finals, that's a big problem. A bounce-back isn't likely to happen on that matter.

Congrats to all bettors here. It's been a good long-run for us. Smiley
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 16, 2022, 11:57:15 PM
We see how Boston give a good fight to Warriors so there's no easy win for GSW on this match since I'm very sure that this game 6 they increase there physicality so that they can maximize their  performance and possibly extend the game to 7. But its undeniable that Warriors is at advantage on this so I guess we can see them eager to finish this because if they let this series stretch to game 7 maybe their championship title will gone this season.

It's undeniable that the Golden State Warriors are on momentum after that 2 game-winning streak. They might bring that same momentum tonight. That's the task for the Boston Celtics, to prevent that from happening. Since winning is a necessary thing to do as no possible next game for them if they will lose, they will surely bring their A+ performance in this game with the help of their crowd to boost their confidence.

Golden State Warriors will surely get their championship on Game 7 but for tonight's Game 6, I will give my wild bet to the Boston Celtics. We will see extending the series to the final game which is Game 7 and the Celtics have no choice but to force that.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 16, 2022, 11:46:31 PM
This should go off at 50/50 with the winner getting the belts.  I see no other way this will go off.

But in today's boxing, that's not how it works. Not just the achievement but a highly recognized boxer will just deal on something "if the price is right". Money matters when a boxer is on a top level and the fact that Spence is holding 3 titles and will put those at stake.

If we refer to and check all Spence Jr. PPVs, all those are sold out and considered blockbusters compare to Crawford. Ticket sales are also highly in-demand when Spence is fighting to compare to Crawford. It means regardless of who Spence fought, he always achieved the target sales or even beyond that compared to Crawford that can't even bring the fight in the hype.

It's reasonable for a 60/40 split in favor of Spence. If Crawford doesn't like it, better skip Spence and choose other opponents which unlikely won't happen as Crawford really eyes unifying all the Welterweight Title. They will soon reach an agreement of 60/40 and that should be fair if Crawford's main target is to take down Spence regardless of the split as long as it's reasonable.
