1861  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who are the smartest people in this forum? on: June 09, 2013, 11:15:14 AM
This is your opportunity to mention some of the people who have impressed you with their knowledge or skills related to Bitcoin. Even the unpolished gems that don't even realize how good they are Smiley
I would have liked a "+1 to post" feature in this forum: combined with the ability to sort users based on the number of +1 I gave them, that could have automatically created such a list.
1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FireCoin - Scrypt - Just Launched! on: June 09, 2013, 11:13:12 AM

1863  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS]Reloadable-anoymous virtual credit card (VISA) for BTC/LTC on: June 09, 2013, 11:11:28 AM
==> 10 GBP  - You pay 12 GBP for this (equivalent of this price in BTC or LTC)
==> 100 GBP - You pay 120 GBP for this (equivalent of this price in BTC or LTC)

Just a humble question: is there a reason why you don't give a discount to people buying the bigger card?
1864  Economy / Digital goods / Re: SELLING BITCOINTALK ACCOUNTS! on: June 09, 2013, 11:09:29 AM
Send me a PM for more info. Note I will require you to agree to an NDA before I discuss details of the account. If you do disclose any details or any part of our conversation your account will receive a scammer tag.
Just to be fair, these are my terms instead:

• no NDA (LMAO I can't believe you're really suggesting such a thing)
• no PM, everything public (I don't care if people knows I bought an account)
• I'll try to contact the owner of the account and some forum admin to make sure it isn't stolen
• either you send first and wait for my investigation, or we'll use escrow

Are you still selling, at these conditions?

If you aren't I assume you are either dealing in stolen accounts, or trying to scam someone.
1865  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] 499 direct ASICMINER shares on: June 09, 2013, 11:00:06 AM
Nice try, AM is down to 2.151 on btct...

Those are pass-through shares, I don't see anyone selling direct shares cheaper. Anyway, I'll keep the dividends if nobody's interested  Smiley
You can buy PT shares and then convert them to direct.
1866  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring | Amateur Web Developer on: June 09, 2013, 10:58:19 AM
Yeah, before estimating a price, we would need to know the type of work which needs to be done. Would you please elaborate a little more please?

Alright then.

The job :

First of all, I need a bitcoin wallet set up on my VPS

and for the web development part,
I need a small PHP Social Network system,
that has an integrated mini betting-game (which is what the bitcoin wallet will be partially for)

Also part of that system, a trading system where people will trade services/goods for bitcoin
(where they will use the balance of their bitcoin wallet in the site for)

The name is still being thought of, so I haven't bought a domain name yet
(probably need some suggestions too xD)

The Payment :

I will pay 40$ (about 0.3+ BTC)
after one month of release of the site

and in the succeeding months
30% of total income.
I will receive 40% and the other 30% will be
used for site development in the future,

and if site development is not needed we split 15% additionally.

So. Anyone up for the job?
I have the VPS already.

Are you INSANE?!?

You want to hire an amateur to build a site which handles money, paying him with peanuts, and then taking a huge share of the profits... what would be your role in this? Why shouldn't he make it for himself?
1867  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 1st Greek Hotel & Restaurant that Accepts Bitcoins! on: June 09, 2013, 10:55:56 AM
We just send the amount into their MtGox address ..... Smiley

Very bad idea and possibly against their TOS.

Should use a proper wallet or provider instead.

How much think you have to be to run an exe from such a source?

He claims to be open source but it isn't, then pretends nothing happened. He says he just learned how to create an executable. He choose for his "currency" a name which was already taken. Obviously when asked what's new about his "coin" he didn't answer (because there's nothing new). edit: isn't even able to static link his exe.

Almost every alt-currency is crap, and honestly this is BY FAR the crappiest I've found.

I understand the OP might be either delusional of fraudulent, but how on Earth is anyone playing with his potentially dangerous toy? Don't you stop to think, sometimes?

Another way of looking at it is the blades are a lot cheaper now as measured in $ so perhaps sales will actually go up?
They are priced in BTC, they produce BTC, the BTCUSD rate is irrelevant here.

No, if you are long on btc it's clearly a bargain.
No, that's exactly like just buying BTC and not spending them.

If you spend them for another BTC-producing asset is irrelevant relative to BTCUSD.

Well if he didn't receive it then nothing is resolved except a promise for a type of shipping. For what they're charging for shipping I could ship a bowling ball to Antarctica and it would get there sooner.
Likely true.
However I've tried to search exactly how much does it cost and take, and I've only found a site by a company named NEX which requires you to compile a form just to tell you how much it costs O_o
And the form doesn't work, of course.

Despite that, I've found images of this cool post office, which is surrounded by penguins.

Still a better deal than BFL.

1875  Other / Off-topic / Re: Going home from the pub, almost hit an elephant! on: June 08, 2013, 05:30:57 PM
On a somewhat related topic, apparently during the last months near my home the seagulls fought with the parrots, driving them away from their trees.
Not sure where have they run away, maybe they even scattered in little groups.
A pity, nothing against the seagulls, but I liked parrots!

oZoNo voted NO with comment: Shareholders own nothing except the right to a share of the profits. The issuer owns all the assets. This is effectively a loan that never has to be paid back. -- odolvlobo

While I still think BitVPS has great potential and is a very interesting security, I kind of agree with oZoNo's point: why doesn't this stock come with voting powers?
It should be natural to have something like the power to elect a board member, and/or being automatically granted a board seat if you have enough shares...

1878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust System on: June 07, 2013, 07:07:32 PM
The only way I found to go to the trust profile of someone, is to click near one of his posts in a forum which enables trust.

However in the trust profile there are other users linked. Clicking on them does not bring you to their trust profile, it brings you to their general forum profile... and I couldn't manage to reach their trust profile from there.

IMAO you should:
1. link directly the user's trust profile in the trust page
2. link the user trust profile in his profile page
1879  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading and Speculation Info? on: June 07, 2013, 07:05:39 PM
Where can I go to learn the ins and outs of trading and speculation, specifically with regards to Bitcoin?  For stock trading, I'd like to learn how to find out what stuff is, where I can find that information, when to buy and when to sell.  For currency trading, I'd like to learn pretty much the same stuff, but with more information on buying and selling.

Any websites that could teach this stuff to a 5-year-old, or any offers to mentor me would be much appreciated.

(not specific to Bitcoin, though)

sorry for bad bad English.
Grammar is not a problem, there are many non-native speakers here, so that's fine.
But using abbreviations and slang terms (like "u" or "wassup") makes it really difficult to understand.
