1861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Permanently keeping the 1MB (anti-spam) restriction is a great idea ... on: November 19, 2016, 02:21:11 PM
For what it's worth:

I'm the guy who went over the blockchain stuff in Satoshi's first cut of the bitcoin code.  Satoshi didn't have a 1MB limit in it. The limit was originally Hal Finney's idea.  Both Satoshi and I objected that it wouldn't scale at 1MB.  Hal was concerned about a potential DoS attack though, and after discussion, Satoshi agreed.  The 1MB limit was there by the time Bitcoin launched.  But all 3 of us agreed that 1MB had to be temporary because it would never scale.

Several attempted "abuses" of the blockchain under the 1MB limit have proved Hal right about needing the limit at least for launching purposes.  A lot of people wanted to piggyback extraneous information onto the blockchain, and before miners (and the community generally) realized that blockchain space was a valuable resource they would have allowed it.  The blockchain would probably be several times as big a download now if that limit hadn't been in place, because it would have a lot of random 1-satoshi transactions that exist only to encode information for altcoins etc.

At this point I don't think random schmoes who would allow just any transaction are getting a  lot of blocks. The people who have made a major investment in hashing power are doing the math to figure out which tx are worthwhile to include because block propagation time (and therefore the risk of orphan blocks) is proportional to block size. So at this point I think blockchain bloat as such is no longer likely to a problem, and the 1MB limit is no longer necessary.  It has been more-or-less replaced by a profitability limit that motivates people to not waste blockchain bandwidth, and miners are now reliably dropping transactions that don't pay fees.

You were involved in Bitcoin at the time of launch?

A lot of people don't know it but Cryddit is Ray Dillinger. He was one of the original testers of Bitcoin. He actually helped Hal Finney with some of the design. He was one of the original cypherpunks and is still hanging around as far as I know.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 16,000,000 BTC will have been mined in a few days on: November 19, 2016, 02:11:23 PM
Actually 21 millions coin is not enough for all user in the world, and within 16 million being mined, bitcoin famous is just starting, so it is still a good chance for us to get rich from bitcoin, when bitcoin getting more famous and the supply is not enough we will see the price keep on going up

Is 21 million Bitcoin enough? How do you accomodate all people in case it was actually used as a worldwide currency? Comparing to the current world's M1 supply, it was determined that 8 decimal places was enough to cover the supply and still have the smallest division smaller than enough for daily usage.

The total number of currency units available is 21 x 1,000,000 x 100,000,000 which is 2.1 quadrillion. You could run two earths with that many units. No worries.
1863  Other / Politics & Society / Re: TRUMP WINS on: November 19, 2016, 01:53:36 PM
Trump knows how to run a large empire. The President-elect's personal financial-disclosure report is extensive and lists Trump as a trustee, president, chairman, or member for more than 530 companies.

In 1986, Trump began to use his successes as a developer to dip his toe into politics. He made his first such splash with the renovation of Wollman Rink in Central Park. The fixes had begun in 1980 but were more or less in limbo by 1986. Trump publicly lambasted the inefficiency of the governmental agencies in charge of the renovation, starting a war of words with then-Mayor Ed Koch. As part of the argument, Trump offered to complete the renovation himself, for free. He finished in three months, for well below the city’s budget and to the satisfaction of most, proving his point. The rink still has over 5 million visitors a year and is making money for the city of New York.

Minorities, gays and liberals have been in charge long enough. Let's see what whitie can do for murrica. LOL
1864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: November 19, 2016, 07:44:05 AM
Of course it will be replaced.

Are you still driving the same car that your great great grandfather drove?  Do you still have an eight track tape player for your music?  How about that black-and-white television set, have you retired it yet?
1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Friendly Countries on: November 19, 2016, 07:39:49 AM
Which country has most number of bitcoin users, miners and vendors? And in which country bitcoin is accepted the most? Like in at institutes or super malls or stores etc.
Has such data been calculated and available on the world wide web?

for the users, miners and vendors, i think it will be china because we all know that china is one of the biggest country that have many mining farm and we can most of them is big mining farm.

but for the country that accepted bitcoin, i really not sure as i am not follow any news about this and maybe i will search later when i have time to search.

China doesn't care about using Bitcoin. As soon as the profit from mining dries up China will abandon bitcoin.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Friendly Countries on: November 18, 2016, 02:27:44 PM
Most of the reports I've read claim the USA and Canada to be the most friendly large countries with a bunch of smaller no population (who cares) countries mixed in.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that places like Sweden and Denmark love Bitcoin but, let's face it, those countries combined have a total population less than the greater Los Angeles area. The population of Denmark is just under 6 million. The population of the San Francisco Bay Area is 7 million.
1867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 16,000,000 BTC will have been mined in a few days on: November 18, 2016, 02:11:42 PM
I'm waiting to see what happens in 2020 when 85+ percent of all bitcoins have been mined. Or better yet, 2024 when the Bitcoin mining reward is 3 and 93% of all bitcoins have been mined. Will anyone still be mining Bitcoin? Will the exchange rate be more than $3,674 per coin because that's what it is today.

In 2024 each block will produce a little over 3 btc. At today's exchange rate of $750 ($750x12.5=$9,000 per block, $9,000/4=$2,250) each coin will need to be worth $2,250. To equal the same buying power it will need to keep up with inflation. The inflation increase will be roughly $178 per year per coin for 8 years or $1,424 (could be a little more or a little less, inflation is hard to predict exactly).

That means in 2024 for there to be no loss in mining revenue each coin will need to be $3,674.

Of course this doesn't take transaction fee increases into account which could easily make this up if Bitcoin transactions start costing as much as a bank transfer costs. It also doesn't account for necessary mining gear replacement costs for miners. Replacement gear cost could necessitate a per coin price of $6,000-$10,000 to remain flat at today's exchange rate.

You really should try and find Dr. Who and see if he can take you back to your own time. You should also stop jumping into random police call boxes.

I'm not sure if everyone is good with the government tracking their purchases of "real feel" 12" black dildos and extra large butt plugs either. The used panty market might dry up too.

http://www.ownmypanties.com

That's where Bitcoin will fit right in, dude  Grin Anonymous purchasing of sex toys & illegal drugs online. I bet the government officials themselves are going to use Bitcoin online for their more 'kinky' deals so to speak  Wink

Yep, if US president Bill Clinton had paid Monica Lewinsky in Bitcoin we probably would never have known he got a blow job in the White House.

I think you are wrong. If he had paid her anything at all, then the whole world wouldn't have known that she has given him a blow job. But because old Bill was a cheapskate and skimped on the bribe he got outed  Grin

That's too bad. He should have thrown her a little something more than his bone.  Wink

Two of my fingers smell like vagina this morning. That's an indisputable  evolution  of the smell on my fingers.

Grin It's a very interesting and scientific fact, keep going!

Scratch -n- sniff

Jesus taught me that trick.

I know that I'm god because every time I have my face buried in some sweet little furry beaver she starts screaming "oh god".

Is that before or after yu Scratch -n- sniff?  Grin

It was after I gave her my snake in the garden of eden.

The lord (of the rings) said, "thou shalt wiggle on the great white snake and then sniff thou fingers and scream Oh God. So let it be written, so let it be done. Behold my greatness for I have given you stinky pussy to make thou mustache smell for all eternity." Then the lord peeped through the glory hole at the wonder of his creations procreation and knew it was good and stinky.

US President elect Donald Trump has a solution for all your problems with women.

You could Opt for a Xapo Debit card... https://xapo.com/card/ and I checked the FAQ and they will ship the card to Italy. It could possibly

work for Grandpa :

The Xapo Bitcoin Debit Card is a Visa card that you can use for your purchases in stores, online and to withdraw cash at ATMs - all of this directly in bitcoin. The card is accepted in billions of stores and ATMs around the world.

...

Someone might have to help him..  Roll Eyes

That's a killer idea. It allows him to spend Bitcoin without actually knowing anything about Bitcoin. The only thing I would add is to not keep more in an online wallet than you can afford to lose. Bravo Kprawn.

Great idea, but the problem is the other way around. The problem is to find a way for Grandpa to send me bitcoins, not for me to send him Euro (or such) using my Bitcoins.

Well then, I guess you're fucked.

The Xapo Bitcoin Debit Card is a Visa card that you can use for your purchases in stores, online and to withdraw cash at ATMs - all of this directly in bitcoin. The card is accepted in billions of stores and ATMs around the world.

The Xapo Card works just like any other debit card, but instead of drawing funds from your bank account, it debits purchases directly in bitcoin from your Xapo main wallet. The Xapo Debit Card is not a pre-paid card, so you do not need to pre-load cards with cash to make purchases.

The Debit Card is only linked with your Xapo main wallet - never the Vault, or other additional wallets you may create on Xapo. We suggest that you keep the funds intended for your debit card usage in the main wallet, and all other bitcoins meant for daily spending in additional wallets. Long-term savings should be kept in the Vault.

Xapo Debit Cards are offered in three different spending currencies: USD, EUR and GBP. You must select this base currency when you order your card, although all transactions are always debited in bitcoin. You can order one card per Xapo account. The debit card is valid for 3 years.

Someone might have to help him..  Roll Eyes

That's a killer idea. It allows him to spend Bitcoin without actually knowing anything about Bitcoin. The only thing I would add is to not keep more in an online wallet than you can afford to lose. Bravo Kprawn.
1878  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mike Pence believes that gays can be "cured" by electroshock "therapy" on: November 17, 2016, 09:52:16 PM
My son-in-law is an anesthesiologist. He says that gay men can let another man cum in their mouths and swallow it without puking and straight men generally can't.

Seriously though, feminine vocalization is definitely learned behavior. Some (not all) gay men try very hard to sound as feminine as possible. When I was in the military there were a couple of women that I knew that talked shit like a trucker. One was a cook in the mess hall and the other was a fleet mechanic. If your back was turned you wouldn't know a man wasn't talking. Neither of them were lesbians (one was married and the other was dating her way through every man on base). They hung around military men all day at work and at the NCO club at night. Of course they're going to sound like men. These ladies were not hanging out in knitting circles all day.

PS: I know one or two gay men. I'm from San Francisco (homosexualitys mother ship - LOL)
1879  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mike Pence believes that gays can be "cured" by electroshock "therapy" on: November 17, 2016, 03:41:44 PM
Really? it means he doesnt like gays afterall. The problem would be the gays willing to go for this therapy. Most of the gays like their sexuality so i don't think its going to help anyway. All they need is Jesus.
Jesus was a confirmed homosexual; he will only exasperate the problem.

1880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The grandpa challenge! on: November 17, 2016, 02:08:08 PM
Hi guys,

Something I struggle with at the moment using bitcoins:

The grandpa challenge:
* I live in Norway. I use bitcoin.
* Grandpa (in-law) is from the U.S. He lives in Italy.
* Grandpa can't speak Italian and it's a LOT of hassle paying me (I prepaid a vacation) from an U.S bank via Italy to a Norwegian bank.
* Grandpa has never used an app and doesn't have the phone for it. Very low understanding of technology, but uses the internet for basic stuff like shopping, email, ..

How can Grandpa pay LCF4EV (me) in bitcoin?

It must be easy.

Thanks.

Easiest way would be he create an account to where you did. Then he pay the bitcoin there using his credit card. If there is a payment option for bank or cash then it would be better. Then just send it.
The more easier way is he will buy BTC that will direct to your online wallet.

No, here's the easiest way to do it. It can be drop shipped to any address in the world, it can be used at any business in the world, and it can be loaded from any bank account in the world.
