Is it possible to request it never be published, unless a trade goes sideways and it’s needed/one of the two/two+ parties requests it?
No, that would allow for loopholes like this:
if a potential scam victim receives the PM as BCC, I can't know everyone involved.

Is it possible to make this program entirely encrypted until the delay is up/ publishing requested ? (Not sure if this would even be possible).
Only if you send an encrypted PM, and publish the decryption later. But that defeats the purpose of using a third party to publish the evidence.

Ah I see. I guess I’m forgetting you’re working with what you can do here and now, which is limited since you aren’t the site admin (otherwise you could trigger the program to do stuff like disable BCC when utilized, of course right).

Is this the kind of thing SC’s might be able to do one day, removing the need for a third party ? (Thinking of Satoshis 3rd party-less escrow SC proposal).

This is some cool Mr Robot stuff here (Trying to think of how/when this could be best utilized in collectibles).

1865  Economy / Economics / Re: What was the dumbest thing FTX spent money on… on: December 21, 2022, 11:37:14 PM
In your opinion. What do you think is the biggest waste of money and most useless thing that SBF spent money on.

His MIT diploma.

Everything SBF said gave the impression he majored in gender studies or wrote books on the morality of whether men should urinate sitting down.

Its shocking to think he graduated from one of the most prestigious technical institutes in the world. With a "degree" in math. (How?) His reactions and the arguments he makes are far more emotional in depth, rather than logical or math oriented.

If I remember correctly, SBF made comments where he tried to compare his waking and sleeping cycles with RAM memory in PCs. But the way he did it, appeared to indicate he does not comprehend how RAM functions. Which appears to indicate his entire MIT education was a waste.

Shit, I'm just as surprised as your are.  When it comes to technical colleges, I'm not sure there's anything more prestigious than MIT, and this guy has clearly exposed his serious lack of intelligence.  It may even be you who recently posted about SBF not reading books and saying that it's a waste of time, or something to that extent.  I mean there can't be but maybe 5 kids that are currently at MIT who would agree or think that reading is a waste of time.  Of all the most intelligent people I've met over my  lifetime, the one thing they all had in common was an extreme passion for reading.

Anyways, I hope they throw the book at this guy big time, he deserves to rot in jail!
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 21, 2022, 11:33:27 PM
I mean I would certainly think, or at least hope that everyone is in the camp that if it came down to absolutely having no other choice but to sell to save yourself or a family member, that you would do it.  Me personally, I rarely sell any bitcoin and if I do it's for specific reasons that are beyond my control.

I certainly think there's less people "hodling" than there claims to be, but who knows.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 21, 2022, 11:30:08 PM
ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?

I am still in the camp that artificial intelligence still doesn't even exist, technically.  To me artificial intelligence is a self learning program, obviously something that does not exist yet.  Maybe I'm wrong about the technicalities here, just how I feel.

Now I would certainly let an "AI" program help me in making my decision for making bets, especially if I'm on the fence with a certain bet and need a "tie-breaker" so to speak, but I certainly wouldn't trust it 100%.
1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 21, 2022, 11:27:23 PM
Without an all-star beside Luka, he will never win a title. That's how NBA is right now. In order for a team to win, you need to have at least 2 all star player on the team. You expect them to be in the play-in tournament. I believe they might make a roster change or make some trades this season, and maybe that might change the tempo of the team. I expect them to be at the 5-8th spot. Slightly higher than your prediction.

Luka is the main man of the Mavericks, he is the Kobe Bryant of LA Lakers and Giannis of Bucks, so you can't really expect to win without him. Dallas IMO are better this season, though they have struggle this early but comes playoffs, Wood will be very useful as they have a good scorer inside unlike last season.

But Luka has nobody to depend on because the team's situation is highly depending on him and him alone, the rookie might be giving some improvements but, in the end, Luka still needed to carry the whole team because he doesn't have someone to rely on unlike Kobe Bryant and Giannis who have Shaquille O'Neal and Khris Middleton, respectively.

Which explains again why they are struggling this season, but that rookie Christian Wood though, maybe this time will be much different. Anyway, let's see.

Luka is doing this all with scrubs around him.  I don't expect Dallas to do anything significant this year.  Tes can hyper focus defense on Luka with that squad they throw out there night after night.  Sad really cause the dude could be even better than he is which is crazy to say.

Yeah it's pretty impressive that they are hovering around .500 with him being the only one really putting in big time work night in and night out.  I don't know if they are trying to be competitive or not this year, or perhaps Cuban is okay with not being so they can try and get a better shot at the lottery, but if I were them and trying to get better I'd be calling the Chicago Bulls, think we might be having a nice sale if things don't turn around real freaking quickly.  ( Can't believe your knicks destroyed us like they did on back to back games...yikes).
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 21, 2022, 11:22:19 PM
It appears the playoff for our league will be on week 16. I thought week 16 will be a bye week and we resume on week 17 and have our champion on week 18.

The theory was to have the fantasy championship game during week 17 in case teams rest their star players during week 18.  This is based on the assumption that the top teams may have nothing left to play for.  For example; if the Eagles win this weekend they'll clinch the top seed in the NFC, and can start all their backups the last two weeks of the season.  No need to risk injuries for their starting lineup.

Exactly.  No legit leagues actually play the final week of the season.

I vote for next year that even the last place teams get to play in the consolation bracket.  I mean I don't think that we even have any sort of reward for whomever wins that do we? Regardless, despite having come in dead last (this may actually be the first time in 15 years of playing thats happened) I still want to keep playing until everyone is done, even if its absolutely meaningless...still fun for me (and you can still make side bets w/the team you're facing).

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs.  I made the playoffs in 1 of my 3 teams.  Facing off Hhampuz in our league as the #4 seed versus the #1.  I have absolutely no luck so I expect a one and done lol.
1870  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 20, 2022, 05:40:02 PM
This is a great topic and one everyone should be taking very seriously.  As a financial advisor this is a conversation I have with my clients every single day.

A few things I would like to share with you guys.  First off, here's a great page of financial calculators that can help with your planning and savings - https://www.empower.com/learning_center/calculators/index.shtml?_gl=1

Now here is one of the absolute best tools that EVERYONE should be doing at least once a year.  Run a monthly budget calculator to make sure you are truly saving what you could be.  This also helps potentially expose thing you really are spending too much money on.  Run this once a year, I can't stress this enough. Save your results so you can compare year to year- https://www.empower.com/learning_center/calculators/managing-monthly-budget.shtml#/
1871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few Days To Christmas - How Are You Preparing? on: December 20, 2022, 05:32:14 PM
I see what your overall theme here is and I think it's a good reminder to simply be smart with your money, and to not waste it.  But keep in mind some people are going to have to spend their bitcoin whether they really want to or not.  I would sure love to be able to keep all the bitcoin I own in-tact and never spend it, but unfortunately sometimes I have to.  However I think your main point here is just to not needlessly waste your bitcoin on stuff that you're not going to care about in a very short period of time.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2022, 05:28:03 PM
Woowee it has been one heck of a rough year for the Chicago Bulls.  I watched a really good video yesterday which broke down the current state of the Chicago Bulls and gave a few suggestions/ideas of where they might want to head from this point- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdbKmmvsucI .

As a die hard bulls fan, without a mega-star, we don't have a chance. Period.  I'm a realist, and I realize though Lavine, DeRozan, Vucevic are good players, maybe even great..but not great enough.  Also with no Ball, they've got no chance.  In my opinion it's time to do some restructuring.

I say the Bulls move DeRozan and try and move Vucevic as well.  They need more young talent to build upon while they try and find that mega-star (which is almost impossible, I'm certainly aware of).
actually i think the Bulls should try to get Derrick Rose back and let him retire as a Bull.  Lonzo isn't going to be coming back any time soon if at all since he is still having knee troubles.  Based on the reception he got vs. the Knicks I really wish they would do that.

I think that would be fun in terms of a cool thing for Derrick and the organization and fans, but that's really all that it is, more of a marketing ploy rather than doing what they need to be doing and that is acquiring players that are going to help move this team closer to a potential championship.

Yeah unfortunately it looks almost like a complete certainty that Lonzo is not coming back this season.  I have no idea what the hell takes over a year like that to recover from.  That whole situation is an absolute mess.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 20, 2022, 05:22:20 PM
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.  I think you're helping teach a very valuable lesson here.  I'm lucky to personally not have any sort of addiction to gambling, nor do I normally be big amounts of money, but for those who do, I can see it being very easy trying to chase your losses with that feeling "I've got to at least get back to where I started".

This is a good lesson that goes for quite a few things, including investing in cryptocurrency or stocks for that matter. Slow and steady wins the race.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no cool games on: December 20, 2022, 05:18:55 PM
I'm a bit confused by what you're saying here.  I first disagree with you that these types of games are boring, as I find them quite interesting.  That being said, do you mean like video games?  Like being able to go on a casino website and play games like Tekken or Mortal Kombat and being able to bet on that?  I'm not sure this would be very easy implement, that is if this is what you mean..like gambling video games?

1876  Economy / Economics / Re: FTX was engaged in a massive, years-long fraud: US prosecutors on: December 19, 2022, 11:53:07 PM
One of the funniest parts of this all has been Brian Armstrong and his remarks about what a crook SBF is ( talk about the pot calling the kettle black).

I hope SBF is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and that he serves a shit ton of time.  He not only pulled some major scumbag moves, he (whether you like to admit it or not) made a bad look for an already reeling bitcoin/cryptocurrency ecosphere.

My guess is they will make an example of him, and he'll get pretty hard.
1877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the smart choice not the entire crypto industry on: December 19, 2022, 11:44:59 PM
It amazes me how many people I see still "investing" in and believing in shitcoins.  However I guess I shouldn't be that surprised being that if people believed in 1% a day guarantees like you saw with Bitconnect, I guess many will believe in just about anything ( and don't learn well from past history).

Anyways I would agree that bitcoin is still assuredly the top coin in it's "area", meaning it's a different type of coin than say Ethereum or Monero.

I'm not watching the Pats again until Mac Jones is fucking GONE !!!

Great match Chi, I got lucky after putting the worst possible roster I could have.

Should have put Murray in for Mixon LOL

So 1.3pts this week versus .96 points from week 6, wtf lol.  That feels like just yesterday too, I can't believe we are in the final regular season week of fantasy.

Nah I think you made the right move by choosing Mixon over Murray.  That's more luck than anything in my opinion.  I'm not sur we will even see Latavius Murray in the NFL next year.  I guess you could make an argument you should have started Montgomery over Mixon (being that Herbert is still out) but I dunno, hard for me to ever sit guys like Mixon. I mean he did just go off for 66 points not all that long ago (though yeah he's not been so great since).

But yes, great game ..again..congrats.
