18661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC good investment? on: March 21, 2015, 08:09:31 PM
no, better to reserve money for bitcoin only now, bitcoin is not in a good shape, this mean other currency are going through a phase that is even worse
18662  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN GO UP BITCOIN GO DOWN on: March 21, 2015, 08:02:27 PM
The price is at $261 now and continue to rebound .up or down, it's really unpredictable.

it being manipulated non-stop, you can see plenty of big walls on all exchanges, based on volume of course

those walls force newbies to dump then pro traders buy again, and so the up and down syndrome begin
18663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cointellect is reliable ? on: March 21, 2015, 07:55:43 PM
scam since one month at least, they were a semi ponzy before, with the best payout out there, contracts weren't that bad either, now they are pure ponzi, stay away
18664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guard your Bitcoin with Stainless Steel Cold Storage on: March 21, 2015, 07:51:00 PM
all those fancy thing are only good to makes you lose money, i prefer to store them in my desktop sincerly..

I don't understand how these types of things are safe when the person who makes them has access to your private keys.

No they don't. Only you have access to your private key, you are the one who assembles the letters in order, not the manufacturer.

they could brute force those arrangement?
18665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has any of Satoshi's suspected wallets been used?? on: March 21, 2015, 07:48:35 PM

18666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On Bitcoin valuation on: March 21, 2015, 06:26:30 PM
we should start to use more site which ask only btc as a payment, but even than there is the problem that those site will dump the coins for fiat..., i don't see a solution until bitcoin will reach fiat status as adoption
18667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any bitcoin-turned-millionaires here? on: March 21, 2015, 06:24:34 PM
I doubt it that the early adopters that became millionaires are still lurking around on this forum and rather having the time of their lives partying.

some of them lost all coins, like the one that lost million with his HDD being destroyed in the rubbish dump, other simply bought something like cought pizza cought, and others sold them all when they were pretty cheap
18668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do freshly mined bitcoins look like? on: March 21, 2015, 06:18:27 PM
what do you mean with fresh bitcoin? really confused here  Huh

perhaps you mean owing the entire block without splitting it with others?

Bitcoin has an algorithm for creating and distributing new coins. That's the reward miners receive. You can read more about it here: http://www.coindesk.com/information/how-bitcoin-mining-works/

(edit: changed link to a more relevant explanation)

ah ok, i didn't understand at first, i was thinking he was referring to something else, instead he just mean "new generated coins"

those are the one without transactions i guess, good to know
18669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't the government leave Silk Road open... on: March 21, 2015, 06:13:47 PM
because those bitcoin were used for illegal stuff too and also the amount of money was too high, i don't see other reasons

thanks god they didn't close bitcoin generally. in russia they wanna do it and drugs are the main reason

isn't russia already out of bitcoin, i heard it got banned there

anyway they can't "close" bitcoin, bitcoin is decentralized...this is one of the beauty about bitcoin...ineluctable
18670  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Some of you programmers should create a Bitcoin simulation. on: March 21, 2015, 04:12:16 PM
Should it mimic bitcoin exactly? Such as with confirmation times, current mining difficulty and such? It's possible. Post around in the project development section. It will definitely happen.

I was thinking a more cartoonish version of a wallet, no need for miner crap etc. Just some visual interactive wallet that allows you to cut and paste an address from a fake celebrity list on one side maybe, you input and then it can give a fun visual portrayal of your coin flying like magic fairy money dust around the globe, haha.

I guess many of the videos of abitcoin are well done, just adding that interactivity and educational element that shows an average Joe how easy it is to send to somone. I thinking simple colourful, visual with humor, maybe mocking how much hassle banking online is in comparison.  Cheesy

if you can make it more like a game, "farmville" style it would attract more facebook people for sure, they love those thing  Cheesy

18672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multiple wallets on: March 21, 2015, 04:06:37 PM
Is it standard for one person to have several bitcoin wallets?
Yes.  You should have at least 2; one, the "hot" wallet, where you use for everyday spendings.  Only have a small amount of bitcoins in this wallet.  The other one every bitcoin user should have is the cold storage, or the offline wallet.  This is where you store most of your bitcoins and hodl. Smiley

i think 3 it's better, the hot wallet on your desktop, and two for cold storage, in case one becomes corrupted

I sended some (bit less than 6) bitcoins from bitcoin.de to my wallet and still no confirmations  Huh

It is normal, you sent this bitcoin without a properly fee : https://blockchain.info/tx/8ab3bacb2fc7645b5abccf6ef1b8a251c60fef54164a773321974a602d62c40b  The min. recommended is 1000 satoshi/Kb. However don't worry in the next few hours (4-5 ) it will be confirmed, it is only 357 byte of weight.
so it's the fault of the exchange?  Roll Eyes anyways happy to hear it will be confirmed soon

usually they do have always a fee(the standard one 10k, or the more common 20k satoshi), it seems strange this case without fee, check the transaction
18674  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: March 21, 2015, 04:03:43 PM
some users claimed that they was making 0.07 a day with this faucet using a bot, so i think it's worth it if you know what you are doing

The bitcoin generator bot? I'm pretty sure it "collapsed". Such bots are taking advantage of faucets in an exploitative way.

yeah they use something like 2captcha or other service to bypass captcha, that user was referring to some time ago yes, don't know if it's still working or not

18676  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: mini setup (not alot of money to plunge into it) on: March 21, 2015, 02:33:43 PM
that electricity cost must be a joke, you will never roi, even with the best technology and the biggest farm out there

cost of mining equipment is a non-issue here, with that electricity...

thank god for that xD
so with the new updated price will i see any profit do you think?

You will see a profit if you mine now and then BitCoin price gors up a lot. In that case you will be making a bigger profit if you simply buy BitCoins now. It is also a lot less work.

I would not promise that.  With "electricity cost: £16.82 KWh" and less than 250 GHz of gear it will be hard.  Chances are you will be lucky to pay off the gear even at that electricity price and miners you mentioned.

My point was even in the optimistic event that he makes a profit by mining, he stands to make a bigger profit by buying Bitcoins now instead. It is also a lot less work, simply buy and hold.

well buy and holding, it's good and all, but it will not increase your btc count, which is the point of mining
18677  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much would one Bitcoin Block Erupter ( 336 MHS ) Earn per day? on: March 21, 2015, 02:30:18 PM

18678  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should setting up a mining rig at home always be profitable on: March 21, 2015, 02:28:45 PM
if you are looking to help the network, then yes just set up a full node and join the chain, otherwise don't bother looking for a profit in mining, unless you have zero electricity cost or near that, and even then is not guaranteed
18679  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What hardware brought you ROI and some profit? on: March 21, 2015, 02:25:31 PM

not in 2015 for sure(well one never knows...) but with the halving approching a could see this value as a ATH
