There is still no news about Liverpool's intention to buy a solid midfielder. We are already halfway through the transfer window and there is still no serious move by Liverpool side. I guess that they have postponed their intention to make such signing to this summer. They are already in a terrible condition in the English Premier League at the moment. It is going to be quite difficult for them to save themselves from this situation. Even if they make it still it will be too difficult for them to finish the season in top four.

Hopefully next season we will see Liverpool pulling themselves together with the right transfer moves. Nunez is still a disappointment for example in my opinion.

Jurgen Klopp tactics seem to be arrant mess and same to Darwin Nunez another mess he's settled down completely with Liverpool but no major improvement have been witnessed.
The midfied repair is what's more vital for Liverpool, they don't have plan spending too big on Jude Bellingham else he should haven't been with Dortmund.

He could be the next player to leave Dortmund, Both Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool are currently making silent moves to get jude.

Manchester City will definitely be under pressure in their Tottenham match. The gap has already become eight points with the leader Arsenal. In fact Manchester City have the best squad in the league that can deal with such bad time periods. Guardiola needs to find a way to motivate his players for the league championship again. They need to regain their mental strength at the beginning of the season. I know that their main goal is to win the Champions League title as they still haven't. But they can't just throw their PL championship chance this easy.

Besides I remember a much worse time of Manchester City in the past and their incredible comeback for the title as well.

I don't see Manchester City getting pressured by Tottenham who haven't found the best of the best from themselves individually and from the entire squad. They couldn't match up with Arsenal and you expect them to do same against City? Don't let the results of Manchester United winning Manchester City change your mindset.

It's mote likely to see Erling Haaland scoring and banging goals in but with De Brunne who has been the best of assistance to Haaland has dropped form lately. More likely to see haaland not scoring and also Tottenham struggling to win this game.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 16, 2023, 09:47:50 PM
I don't gamble more than I can lose at a particular time so I don't really have big losses. I'm not a greedy gambler and I set how much I am to spend on bets each day. The problem comes when I get too greedy or should I say ambitious when I go over my limit. When this happens, I just move on like every other day. I blame myself for going over my betting limit but I console myself with "what if I had won".
It can get really frustrating when you loose money like that in gambling especially when it happens unnecessarily, that is why its essential to know that its a game of chance you're playing. Accept the loss and move on. One thing that lead to more losses in gambling is desperately trying to recover a loss. Sometimes when you've lost (big or small) you should just take a chill pill and give it a rest.
Always gamble what you can afford to lose

They are playing at their best but the other teams just simply cant lose right now. Take a look at Arsenal though, Arteta and the squad is currently on great momentum right now by winning all those games. Manchester United keep on winning and improving as well while City keep on leaning towards passing the ball to Haaland instead which is also why once Haaland was heavily manmarked as well as De Bruyne then they simply stop scoring afterwards

This is not true at all. Every team, however good they are go through these phases where they lose their rhythm. Man City finished the league last season as the highest scoring team without Halland. Their second league win under Pep was without De Bryune. They can play without these guys and by the way, De Bruyne was not heavily man marked by United, it was not just his day and it happens. Man City would not finish the season lower than the second position, they're that good. I'm happy they're out of form so it would give Arsenal the chance to run away with the league. I want Arsenal to win the league but you can never write Man City off. They've shown time and time again what they can do especially at this stage of the competition.
1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2022/23 on: January 16, 2023, 02:58:20 PM
The most important match of the day was between Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. Both teams were in dire need of 3 points and both had to settle for a draw. Especially for Benfica, it was a more valuable match. With the point difference with their rivals closed, winning in such an important match could be both a morale boost and an incentive for them. But they failed to win. It's a sad situation for them. Braga and porto have closed the points difference.
Porto also took advantage of such a match and beat famalicao 4-1 at home. It must be said that they had a comfortable win.

I knew Braga would be more motivated to win since Benfica will face Sporting the next day. They knew if they had to demand any thing from Sporting CP, they had to first win their own game. I thought it would be an easy win for Braga but it was a hard fought 1-0 scoreline.
Benfica were actually unlucky with the own goal early on in the match. They were behind twice in the match and managed to equalize on both occasions but they could not get the winner.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 16, 2023, 10:10:05 AM
In the game Almería vs Atlético Madrid we saw that the match was a draw. But Atlético Madrid scored 1 goal first. I thought that Atlético Madrid would win this match but it didn't. The players of these two teams played many Fouls. The players of Atlético Madrid 1  Got red cards. The game was not played very peacefully. Both teams tried hard but neither team could win.

Atletico Madrid are fund of that. They find it hard to score goals and bury games because of the way they play. They have very attacking minded players but their system doesn't let them attack too often. I think its a good thing Simeone is leaving at the end of the season. He's been instrumental for them all these years but they need a change in system. I hope they get a good coach that can do better than him. Attacking minded players are not leaving up to their potentials at Atletico because they're a made to be more defensive.
1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 16, 2023, 09:24:17 AM
I heard this strategy working but I like to know based on your experience if this is working.

It works sometimes and doesn't work sometimes. I cant say I use it as a strategy, I just follow my intuition and if my intuition goes against the public then so be it. It doesn't matter if the whole world plays a particular bet the same way, if my intuition tells me otherwise then i'll follow and I regret it sometimes when I don't listen.

An instance was the Napoli vs Juventus game and the Lecce vs AC Milan game. I was so certain Napoli would win Juventus for unknown reasons. I even said it on the Italian league thread. That's what my gut told me and I was convinced. Same goes to the the Milan game. I just had this gut feeling that Milan was not going to win that game.
I don't do it based on the public opinion, I didn't bet against Milan because majority of the public bet on Milan its just a gut feeling.
1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 15, 2023, 10:13:21 PM
I'm really happy about Arsenals great lead of 8 points over Manchester City, (this year) it looks like a Premier League title for Arsenal  Grin
Interesting, of course. But I guess each of us might not be very brave to say for sure that Arsenal will win the Premier League title this season. Because they are good and consistent, but there are always doubts about how this team is able to maintain its shape throughout the season.

I will really hope Manchester City don't lose interest in the title race this season. They can't let Arsenal go so fast and lead the standings with more points without competition, so Manchester City have to do something where they have to at least improve their performance in every game going forward.

During the game against Tottenham,I tried and took good of my time to check for loop holes in the Arsenal team but to my greatest surprise, I found nothing but good togetherness and hardworking players working towards the dreams and desires of winning the Premier League.

Did Pep Guardiola not say he cares less about winning the EFL Cup and also winning the Premier League yesterday? Pep Guardiola is much more Interested in winning the Champions League, which they came close to winning.
That equalizer from Man United was a clear offside no arguments about it.
1889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 15, 2023, 09:44:03 PM
PSG are currently losing to Rennes and its looking like the game will end that way.  I placed a bet on PSG despite knowing that the game was going to be a tough one. This loss reduces the gap between them and Lens to 3 points and places Rennes the same point with Monaco. In as much as PSG still look like the winners of the league, they will not be running away with it this season. Lens is keeping them on their toes. Maybe they're more focused on the UCL but I know they will not want to lose the league. There are still 19 games to go so the season is still log and a lot can happen in 19 games.
1890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 15, 2023, 09:24:34 PM
Barcelona just won the first trophy of the Xavi era against their acre rival Real Madrid.
Madrid were totally outplayed by Barcelona in every aspect of the match. The score line doesn't even tell the whole story if you watched the match. Barcelona were so impressive. There where even glimpses of Pep's Barca at some point in the game. Barcelona linked up well, defended together, pressed together and even attacked together. They played as a team and left Madrid chasing shadows.
Congrats to Barcelona, they really deserved this. They were impressive against Betis until the subs ruined the game but xavi learnt from that and didn't repeat the same mistake today. Now they'll turn their attention to the league where the face Getafe without their main man, Lewandoski.

1892  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will FIFA increase the number of teams to participate in the 2026 world cup? on: January 15, 2023, 12:18:47 PM
It seems that FIFA will not do this because it will only waste time.
It's true that adding more teams to the next World Cup will be a spread event.
We as football fans and sports bettors will also be very happy with this plan because we can watch and bet on the World Cup a little longer compared to previous events.
But the national team in a small country will not be able to fight or keep up with the national team that has been participating in the match for a long time. So why does FIFA have to increase the number of teams at the World Cup if the added team is unable to compete with other teams.

Hoe do you mean?
It doesn't change anything. The only change is that more countries will be able to participate. The slots of the six different regions will be increased. Changing the format of the world cup from 32 to 48 is not something new. Originally the world cup started with just 8 teams in it them it was increased  to 24 in 1982 and then in 1998 it was increased to 32. So I don't get what all the fuss is about. I understand that FIFA is a controversial organization but they're just trying to get more countries to participate in the tournament.
The details of the format are still been discussed. It could be 16 groups of three teams or they could include a worst losers format like the Euro of 2016 where Portugal went on to win despite qualifying out of the group stage as worst losers.

It'll be so painful for Arsenal fans to see all of these recent drama, this would be as a result not having enough funds to back the players movement to Arsenal. I won't lie, I'm a bit disappointed seeing this lad going the other way. Shakhtar Donetsk should have completed this deak with gunners. Though, good luck to him ahead as he takes his medicals today.

In as much as Arsenal missed out on Mudryk i think its good business from Arsenal. He's not worth that much. Because a player is good doesn't mean you should always break the bank to get him. Mudryk shouldn't be worth more than 45m. Chelsea have been signing a lot of players since the takeover but not many of them are doing really well. I do not know their plans for all these deal but they can't just go about signing every available player. They should be focused on getting a natural top striker right now. They can't play with Havertz and Felix up front. They're both good players especially Felix but they're not prolific goal scorers. They have Havertz, Felx, Pulisic, Sterling, Ziyech, MUdryk and probably Nkunku but none of them is a top striker. See the amount of players they've signed yet they're are still 10th on the league table and will most likely not see Champions league football next season.
Yea, they've signed a lot of players but to mean they've not really done good business
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'or Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 15, 2023, 11:35:29 AM
You can't actually designate a best player around the world. A lot of players have been of great value to the team in their own way. Should you then look at the prizes won? Then certain players would not have a chance on the basis of the World Cup because their team is not good enough for that. Examples are Salah and Mane just to name a few. Since Messi became World Champion with Argentina, the prize will probably go to him again at the next election. But Messi was certainly not the best player at the World Cup. I personally thought Mbappe was much better, as witnessed by all his goals in the final and he has also become the top scorer.

You're being bias if you say Mbappe played better than Messi in that world cup tournament. Out of the 7 matches Argentina played in Messi was the MOTM in 5 of them. In that final too Messi was a better payer than Mbappe. Mbappe was awful, like every other French player till they got the penalty. From the very first match of that tournament Messi was the difference maker for Argentina. He would play the midfield and help control the game, he would create chances, give assist to his players and also score. Mbappe score two penalties and a screamer in the final and all of a sudden he was better than Messi?

Aside the world cup triumph where Messi was unarguably the best player in the tournament, hes also in a pretty good form for PSG with 27 G/A so far. PSG even struggle without him these days. Its always funny when you guys equate the highest goal scorer to the best player. Same way most people never rated Mane at Liverpool because Salah was the highest goal scorer so y'all thought he was the best player.

Today we have an interesting game:

Braga vs Boavista
Despite Boavista FC having an inconsistent season, it is always a very difficult team. Braga is going through a good phase, and apparently has all the conditions to win. But it will certainly be a very well played game.

I think its going to be a win for Braga. They've been in a good form lately. They have won all their games since that trashing they received from Sporting CP. Boavista on the other hand are inconsistent as you say and find it hard to win relatively better opponent.
Braga are desperate to close the gap between them and Benfica. Benfica plays Sporting CP tomorrow so there's a chance they will drop point.
Boavista may be motivated by the fact that a win will takes them from 10th position to 7th in the league while having a game in hand. That will keep their hopes of European football alive however slim it might be.
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 14, 2023, 08:22:03 PM
All Arsenal need to do now is win Tottenham and they will be 8 points clear at the top all thanks to Manchester United.
I didn't expect United to win Man City but they just proved to the world that their recent form is not a fluke. They have been in a really good form lately and managed to come back from behind to win Manchester City.

Take nothing away from United but I think that first goal should have been ruled as an offside. Rashford made interference with the ball even if he did not touch it. He ran for the ball while been in an offside position and allowed Bruno to shoot. I have no idea why the referee allowed the goal stand but I would like to hear his reason.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 14, 2023, 08:12:51 PM
Brighton at half time did not play very well but in the second half they succeeded in tearing apart Liverpool defense, there it was seen that Liverpool playing as not a big team, that match Brighton really dominate. Indeed it seems like Liverpool must be to make a big change, maybe their defense must be improved, so far they have been helped by Nunez but when he was absent Liverpool couldn't score a one goal.

Liverpool have been awful this season, I don't see them coming back from this. They would struggle to make a Europa spot talk more of a Champions league spot. They're 9th positions in the league as it stands. The teams ahead of them as in a very good form so it will be near impossible for them to climb above them.
Their defense and attack is not working. I also think they should hire a new manager and let go of Klopp. I feel they need a new system. Klopp  seems to be done. He doesn't know what else to do. The sale of Mane, Salah's poor form are, poor defense and poor tactics from Klopp are all factors. They didn't play lie a big team at all today.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 14, 2023, 09:46:31 AM
Ronaldo and Messi have different conditions, if when the contract with Man United ends and a big European club immediately makes an offer to Ronaldo I'm sure he will choose the club over his current club while Messi does not have to hurry to accept an offer from the Arab club especially if there is another big European club that will make an offer to him when his contract with PSG ends, then the European club he will choose, and in my opinion Messi looks calmer in his career so maybe he will end his career in the next 2-3 years and PSG is the club where he ended his career.

The difference between Messi and Ronaldo at this point in their career is that Ronaldo still plays football like he has a lot to prove. He has nothing to prove and he needs to know that. Messi plays football just for the fun of it at this point.
A 37 year old player that has achieved every possible thing in football should be okay to be on the bench and help out his team. It should always be about the team. He needs people around him that tells him the truth that he's not what he used to be 10 years ago. His first mistake was leaving Juventus in that manner. He should have never have gone to Man United when he left Juventus. Same thing I pray for Messi not to do (go back to Barcelona). Ronaldo should have just found a way to go to Manchester City instead but its too late now.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 14, 2023, 09:26:25 AM
Historically, South America and Europe have consistently performed way better than any other continents.

Personally, I actually think those two continents have too few slots to qualify, for example only 4.5 slots out of 10 for South America, and in Europe giants like Italy failed to qualify.

On the other hand, having Saudi Arabia or Qatar in the world cup instead of Italy just doesn't seem right to me as their skill is just not on par.

Europe had 14 teams out of 32 in the 2022 world cup. Do you want all the countries in the tournament to be European countries? Italy couldn't qualify and that was no fault of Qatar or Saudi Arabia. Its the world cup. 4 from S. America, 4 from Asia and 5 from Africa. Its even more difficult to qualify in these South America than it is to qualify in Europe.
Europe already has more than double of what every other continent has and you think its not enough because countries like Saudi Arabia qualify and Italy didn't qualify?

In the 2026 world cup Europe will have 16 teams, Africa 9, Asia 8, S. America 6. Europe is still very well represented. Qualification is by regions so if you cant qualify in your region its no ones fault. Its same thing with the UCL where a big team like Chelsea wont qualify but a relatively smaller team like Copenhagen would qualify.
