1881  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Cryptocurrency Price Trackers on: December 25, 2020, 07:20:43 AM
~

I personally like coingeckko app and their widget sa phone. Simple lang siya and you can track many cryptos listed on them and pede ka pa magpush notifications if yung coin na binabantayan mo is nareach yung certain price na gusto mo. Ginamit ko siya recently lang noong binabantayan ko yung new crypto na nalist doon and nagnonotif naman siya ng price (nag aalarm din). Signing up is easy as well with just email verification required. You might add it as well sa list Cheesy

1884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Massadoption - Is it ready? on: December 24, 2020, 10:26:49 AM
The growth of adaptation of bitcoin really increase in the past years and we can't deny that bitcoin is a lot of popularity today compared to the past years.

But people are just starting to know digital transactions because of the pandemic and not all countries are able to implement digital transactions because of the technology that is not introduced or they don't have in their country.

Probably after 5-10 years, bitcoin will be adapted in a lot more countries, and companies will be interested or consider cryptocurrency to be an asset because of the increasing market price.

For in my country people are just introduced to a digital transaction more like a Paypal, Mastercard thing. And hopefully will introduce cryptocurrency as digital money not just for investment.
1885  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Babagsak Pa Kaya? on: December 24, 2020, 08:35:36 AM

1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin capable to recover from Financial Crisis? on: December 23, 2020, 06:25:45 PM
Can people consider bitcoin as a shield against the Financial crisis?

No doubt, during the unexpected Covid Pandemic when the world economy is shrinking and the global economy in recession time after the 2nd world war, the Crypto market was on its boom and proven itself as the best currency of the world. Bitcoin jumped above $23,000 to a three-year high recently as a growing number of investors backed it as an alternative to other assets. Investors take their look at the bitcoin investments and its long-term benefits. Many people around the world choosing bitcoin investments because of its massive success.

But in spite of all these, Is it really capable to recover us from Financial Crisis?

Last March the market price of bitcoin was dump which believed to be the effect of the pandemic, which turns out to be a good opportunity to invest your money.

Even in the stock market, the dumps was actually a good opportunity to invest your money, so it's actually not a shield for a financial crisis since the pandemic affects the market price of bitcoin, but at the same time for those people who didn't invest in a high market price of bitcoin they probably have the opportunity to make a profit when the market price dump at that time.

For me its a good choice to put your money in bitcoin at the time of pandemic because it's a good opportunity but it's still vulnerable from a financial crisis and there are so many things that affect the market price.
1887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies! Beware of using Centralized wallet like Coinbase. on: December 23, 2020, 05:58:23 PM
It's pretty common for a custodial wallet to encounter some issues like this one or some freezing account, just like what everyone says if you don't have the private key you don't have control of your wallet.

But base on my experience in Coinbase it's not actually that bad, and I never encounter any issue using the wallet but there are just some requirements that some people are not willing to give or risk it just like the KYC.

I guess it probably happened to a lot of custodial wallets where they limit the in and out of the money especially in bitcoin because of the sudden pump and surpassing the ATH because they will lose a big amount of money from this pump.
1888  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin gave a 230% returns in 2020: will the rally continue? on: December 23, 2020, 04:02:12 PM
you bought one Bitcoin in 2013 and hold it, you would have made $23000 by now. The world’s most sought-after cryptocurrency has already given more than 200% return this year. Now what we see is that a big dip or will this rally continue in 2021?

Usually, after a big pump in the market, you could always expect the market price to go dump because we could expect a lot of investors to sell their investment at this moment because of the profit.

After that dump investors need to reinvest when the market price is dump so we need to wait probably up to 5 years before the market price will pump again in the market.

Holding long term doesn't mean you're going to lose profit because the market price could go dump soon but you could still wait for the next pump, as long as you sell your investment at a high market price you still going to get profit. At the same time, it is a gamble since you don't know if the ATH is gonna be rich in the next pump to could be lower.
1889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin? on: December 22, 2020, 02:01:17 PM
Here we are again at crossroads to choose whether to cashout bitcoin which we have or else Hodl for some more time? This week is undoubtedly most complicated week of the year for bitcoin users because history has not been so kind to bitcoin towards the end of year's post bullruns. If Bitcoin has already achieved its ATH for the season then it's better to cashout but if Bitcoin is going to surge further then HODling is sensible but how do you figure out as we cannot depend of predictions since it fails most of the time. What's your opinion?

At this point of ATH for sure, it is a good time to sell your investment or your bitcoin since we could make sure that we created a big profit.

But when it comes to bitcoin holding is still a good move for bitcoin when it comes to long term investment because of the supply and demand or adaptation of bitcoin we could always expect the market price to increase.

Personally I just hold my bitcoin and then sell a small percentage of it when the market price is high and I could earn a good amount of profit and then buy bitcoin when the market is low for potential profit in the future.
1890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies + Bounty = Zero future on: December 22, 2020, 01:10:38 PM
95% newbies of this forum is active on bounty threads.  They do not want to enter any other discussion thread.  Not many newbies even know that there are such discussion threads in this forum.  They have no interest in knowing anything about Bitcoin.  I don't understand why they do that. So do they lack knowledge about this forum?  How can they be made aware?  In my opinion every newbie should try to gain knowledge about bitcoin from Active in different discussion threads.  If they do, they will be in a better position in the future.  I know that the seniors of this forum are trying in various ways to make the newbies aware of this.  The reason was that they always realized that "today's child is the father of the future."

At least when your just getting started in the forum I think you could joining some bounty here in the forum since you wanted to learn about cryptocurrency here in the forum.

By posting in the forum you could learn a lot about cryptocurrency and at the same time, you have a chance of earning a profit in joining a bounty even though almost a lot of them are failed projects or scams.

The problem here in the forum is almost all of the newies are just an alt account of the other members that are created to farm bounties so we could not really expect anything from that newbies.

1892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received my first product purchased through bitcoin today on: December 22, 2020, 09:17:06 AM
It was just a bit hassle because of the price volatility where sometimes you need to check the market value or maybe it is always better to just invest or hold your bitcoin than spending it.

We could say that spending bitcoin is a good thing especially at this moment where the market price of bitcoin is high.

Still, it's a good thing that we could see bitcoin growing and see a lot of people using it as a real currency that you could use to buy things online and even in a physical store.
1893  Local / Pamilihan / Re: A Discord Server for any Filipino Crypto Enthusiast on: December 21, 2020, 12:27:49 PM

1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why current Bitcoin price pump doesn't get enough media attention? on: December 21, 2020, 06:02:43 AM
Maybe I just have the wrong impression or maybe it's because of the pandemic that stole all attention but somehow I have the feeling that current Bitcoin price rise over 20000$ didn't get almost any media attention. At least I haven't found any article or news in media in my country, like it's not interesting at all. And it was totally different situation back in 2017 when many media published something about Bitcoin.
I also have the feeling that this time people are more cautious than thrilled and excited.

What do you think, what might be the reason or am I maybe completely wrong?

For sure there were so many articles online about bitcoin reaching and passes the ATH this month, almost every cryptocurrency news website has this kind of news and even here in the forum, it discusses a lot.

Somehow I think a agree when comparing it to the past bull run in 2017, I feel like it is not given a lot of attention compared to the past bull run were almost in every platform bitcoin is really trending.

I guess it's pretty obvious in Good trends, but I guess it's because it's not a trend on other social media platforms.
1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Merchants Now Accepting Bitcoin on: December 21, 2020, 05:43:52 AM
Bitcoin is still in a process and continues to grow as time passes, there are so many companies that are getting interested in Bitcoin because everyone seeing the potential of this technology.

Because of the volatile market bitcoin is not a good choice in my opinion for spending so I guess that's why there are only a few stores that accept bitcoin.

It would obviously be a risk for a business accepting bitcoin unless it's a big company that is willing to invest in bitcoin at the same time.
1896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to invest best $2,000-$5,000? on: December 20, 2020, 11:12:44 PM
Investing that money in Bitcoin if you think about it when the market price is at 3,000$ in the past month and selling it at 24,000$ would be a huge profit for someone who invested at the right time.

But to be practical you could always invest in popular coins in the market when the market price is low and take a gamble in it.

You could always visit and create an account in Binance and you could always see a lot of options in Binance where you could invest your money, and you could also try some futures or staking.
1897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Think twice before pressing send. on: December 20, 2020, 10:45:09 PM
I guess double-checking is always a thing because we are just human and we are not perfect we could make mistakes, but we could avoid them if we are careful.

An excess 0 that you type in the fee could affect the transaction fees, just like what happened last time to a guy in an Ethereum transaction.

But I guess this won't happen to some wallets because I don't think you could edit the fees manually were most like to be a small percentage only of your transactions.
1898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Can Be Bought With Bitcoin? on: December 20, 2020, 04:23:11 PM
You could probably find a few stores in your country that accept bitcoin, Bitcoin is still in the process of adaptation so there are only a few physical stores that accept bitcoin but for sure you could find one locally.

Here are some websites where you could spend your bitcoin. Remember that websites might not accept bitcoin anymore because of the price volatility.

https://www.gyft.com/
https://www.jmbullion.com/
https://www.overstock.com/
https://www.ghostbed.com/
https://purse.io/shop
https://localbitcoins.com/

In my opinion, bitcoin is the best for investment at this moment and not for spending because of the volatility in the market price.

1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is used all the time even if you hodl. on: December 20, 2020, 08:51:20 AM
When you Hodl you are effectively loan out the amount equivalent in FIAT that that BTC represents to the market cap, and thus others to do things with that capital [the amount maybe  the amount you acquired the BTC for]. Either way it is incorrect to say that not spending BTC is not Using BTC.

For now, I think that the best way to use bitcoin is just to hold because of the volatility in the market, Spending bitcoin is not really the thing for now because it is still in the process.

In the future when the market price is already stable I think it would be suitable for spending but personally, I think it's better to invest your bitcoin than investing it online.

Nothing really could go wrong if you're holding your bitcoin for a long term investment, and you could always sell it whenever you want as the market price increases.
