1881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2022 Group Stage Highlights on: November 21, 2022, 10:42:23 PM
Qatar is not a high-ranking team but as hosts, they definitely have some advantages. The crowd was definitely one of those advantages, and I think their fans must hope that their national team can achieve good results. Another advantage, Qatar National Team has been acclimatized to environmental conditions, where they are used to playing in sizzling weather. If you still remember, at the 2002 World Cup, South Korea as the host managed to surprise the world (though South Korea was not the favored team at that time).

They already had their advantages and blew it up by conceding to Ecuador because they skipped the qualification stage, they were automatically qualified by FIFA not to struggle for a slot and I think that contributed to why they weren't unable to score even a goal in the match yesterday.

The group A stage is already dominated by Ecuador and England, even though I expected more from England because being paired with Iran was one of the ways to finish this group stage with fair points, the players did a clean job but I'm amazed that Iran manages to have 2 goals unlike Qatar and Senegal, I doubt if Senegal would perform well without Manes present because this is not what they were during the qualification stage.
1882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Feel All The Emotions When We Gamble on: November 20, 2022, 09:52:15 PM
When we gamble we feel all the emotions, like when we feel excited when we are chasing our losses, feeling happy when we won a big amount, feeling depressed when we lose and we feel frustrated when what we expected to happen did not materialize, this is one of the reasons why we cannot stop gambling because we feel all the emotions.

Do you agree that we cannot stop gambling because it completed all our emotions and do you have other feelings when you gamble.

Why feels depressed when you know that you made decisions to risk money, you were willing to let go to make some. I don't see why a serious gambler feels frustrated when you do something yourself, the decision was yours and the consequences should be yours to bear alone both in profit and loss.

Emotion is a part of man and they get triggered when something happens to a man, It could be that you are happy or sad, there is no man who doesnt get emotions when money is involved, you can control it because they are what gives us response to gambling as a stimulus if we are profiting or losing money but one shouldn't allow the mind get overcrowd by emotions because when that happens, you begin to make wrong decisions.

1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 20, 2022, 09:42:31 PM
Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

There is something you don't understand: gaming does not lead to addiction, it is a man's greed that leads to addiction, but the majority of addicted gamblers are not prepared for that talk because they are well aware of their problem. Cocaine and gambling are two distinct entities that do not require comparison, cocaine is a chemical element that people abuse and cause instability in the body, however, gambling does not require you to take any chemical substances, it is a risk that you as a player understand that you will lose or profit, but, the moment you begin to believe that gambling is the only way to escape poverty, you have allowed greed to take over you as a person.
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 20, 2022, 09:31:07 PM
I think it's safe to say that Qatar will be the outsider in this World Cup. I will be really surprised if they manage to secure even one point in the next two matches. If they score a goal, that will be their biggest achievement.

I was wrong throughout and I'm glad that the cool AC that Qatar players have been enjoying influenced their game today, they made it too easy for Ecuador with a disappointing zero shot on target, I don't know what I was thinking, I shouldn't have made my predictions based on their previous friendly match now I got caught for over depending on a host community that was hardly organized on the field, they just demonstrate their incompetence and I am very convinced that they are the first to leave group A stage. Though Qatar and Ecuador are the weakest teams I have seen in group A, looking forward to seeing what Senegal, Netherlands and England would play next, it will be a very tough and interesting one.
1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 20, 2022, 11:33:30 AM
There would be a lot of matches in this fifa world cup where one can bet. I would avoid the bet on the first match because there is a lot of controversial news spreading around in social media about this match.  The Ecuador team is strong when compare with the Qatar team, but some people are saying that Qatar has already paid the bribe to win this match.

Wrong controversial news I presumed and it may be due to some certain restrictions that has been place on some viewers and fans that are coming for World Cup and it doesn’t make sense with this kind of pay back. Let say Qatar was able to find their way out of FIFA, you think Ecuador would want to give up World Cup trophy to a country who host the World Cup? Qatar is not close to comprising FIFA, they are not the first to host the World Cup and wouldn’t be the last.

In this situation, i am not sure whether to believe this news and it became difficult to place a bet. Let's enjoy this first match without placing any bets Wink

The match will go on a neutral ground, I place my bet and ignore the sentiments and rumors.

The World Cup games finally start today... I think there will be a lot of interesting matches and I hope there won't be many boring ones... In the opening match I don't know who can win, the situation is not clear... On the one hand Ecuador got to World Cup from the fourth place, losing only to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay... On the other hand Qatar has had no problems at all in qualifying... I'm going to guess that Ecuador will win...

I guess Qatar against Ecuador was purposely to entertain the country as a host community but even at then to be their first meet up in the world cup, you shouldn't underrate Qatar because they had an automatic qualification as the whole match was hosted in their country, they are good and bless with good players, the last time they had a friendly match with Ecuador, they won and not only that, if you look closely at Qatar last five matches, they won 4 matches and draw just 1 to Chile that usually give Argentina some headache in their matches. It is very likel that Qatar will go far.

Despite the clear sight that investors and crypto enthusiasts has seen on how centralized exchanges cannot be trusted, some exchange CEO like Binance CZ are playing tricky games on Twitter, he will preach how not your keys not your coins is the next big thing in crypto and second day, he will switch to how Binance is a reliable exchange but we all know the truth on how disastrous they are too bitcoin.

To those affected by the exchange stupidity and their shenanigans, keep your bitcoin out of them and hold them, if you have more usdt, buy more bitcoin if it keep going down, you will be the enjoying the benefits of been a diamond hands when the bull returns.

.........

Mistakes are what clear the path for some beginners, they can't be eliminated all the time but we a beginner who follow a precautionary path will be eased from many of them. All the components of crypto are risky as it involves money and value and if you start well with a humble beginning, one will always have a story to tell someday. I'm very interested in that quick to get rich point, most crypto noobs that came on board over the last 1 or 2 years that were all here to catch the train of quick money are probably in regrets now because there is no single project out there that has been having a negative PNL, to earn legitimately, one must be patience in crypto.
1889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie with 100$ on: November 18, 2022, 10:08:35 AM
~snip~So beginners must understand first about market conditions, if it is still difficult, it is better to choose a safe investment, namely bitcoin.
Sometimes beginners just want a quick profit so choosing an altcoin that is currently hype is a trap that will be felt by them.

To find out the market conditions, beginners must know some basic knowledge that needs to be learned before jumping into trading investment. Nothing is safe when the market is bearish, not even bitcoin. Because some beginners when the market is bearish and continues to fall, the desire to sell will be greater because they are not mentally strong. Those who just want to make a quick profit will only be bait in the hype trap of some altcoins. Everyone starts from a beginner, but also must be aware that learning for beginners must be done and it takes a process.

An example of what has been going on in the market is why a newbie asks questions about buying a coin, I always find it within my mind to make it plain they should buy only bitcoin, not because Altcoins are all bad but because it is safer to be in bitcoin as it is always neutral, not centralized, not an entity to any institutions, not a liability to people, even when the market crashes hard, you will always be in the safer hands.

I can only Imagine the advice so many people would have given to Newbies to buy shitcoins(Altcoins) and if they did, thats a lesson for them to learn never to trust altcoins, no matter how solid they are, they are very deadly for portfolios.

@1xbit_official  you already told in trustpilot you would investigate, so what is the conclusion? you can answer through PM if you prefer....

1xbit casino with unending drama and scam accusations, I thought people were already aware of their previous allegations and fraud label against them, but people are still using them and to say I'm a little disappointed with some reputable ADS platforms still endorse 1xbit and display their banner. @ghostingura2 I hope one day you see your money but the fact is this, 1xbit will not pay you back your funds, there are other cases smaller and bigger than your amounts but they never did anything about it, I hope one day as you play in another good casino, you win back all your losses.

Good Luck.
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have Lucky Casino? on: November 18, 2022, 09:42:02 AM
I’m playing same set of games on different casino not just to get the bonuses of each casino but also to have a different mood of my mind set. It really helps me to calm down and focus whenever I’m losing big time on one casino. It also helps me to not chase my previous losses because I think about it as fresh start.

With this regular routine, I notice that I have a specific casino that I’m always winning despite I’m playing same game that I lose huge amount on the other casino. I do randomly change the sequence of my game on casino and keeps giving me same good result on my personal lucky casino. I highly believe that this luck of mine related on how I feel when playing on that casino. I’m expecting that I will be lucky so my mind is always optimistic whenever I’m playing on it.

Do you have this kind of casino?

I'm not quite a fan of Casino games but the bonus attached to them is usually why do I try out the sportsbooks but I'm not always that lucky when it comes to winning my games in those casinos and again, the odds are not always inviting. However, I have been using sportybet for quite a while now and I can confidently say that there is nothing special about winnings, but of course, my number of wins proceeds my losses.

How do you handle your emotions while trying to revive previous losses, hardly you see a sports guy overcome that kind of loss, what is gone is already gone, there is no point in back-hunting what you have lost to the house, the focus should be at future expectations.
1892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Must it be the last game? on: November 18, 2022, 09:28:46 AM
Hello fams

just as the title says why must it be the last game to always cut off the winning?
Have been playing sport bet and especially pools, whenever i predicts some matches upto 5, 8, 10 and maximum is 15, while pools is focused on draws maybe i might just select 3 draws or 6 draws it will always happened the last 1 or 2 games to cut off the match, while a maximum of 15 matches the last number 15 is always terminating all my entries.
Is there any way to do away with the last match that always cut the prediction and some you would be given a chances of cashing out but the last always ends the game not to be able to cashout.

Could you explain this please if there's any way we can do away with it lets begin the adjustments.

This happened a number of times but I don't quite agree it is always the last game that usually ends a ticket game, some tickets get cut from the beginning of matches or games, some happen in the middle while some a few games to the end but the reason I could say why these last games are always the ones we remember is because they are usually painful especially when money involve is big enough to change ones life or enough to give you a fresh beginning.
What I do advise in these situations is, whenever you are not sure of an outcome of last game, cash out and let go of some and take the little you were given by sporty than leaving the whole thing at stake with later regrets.
1893  Other / Archival / Re: Entrepreneurship or Office job? on: November 16, 2022, 09:16:32 PM
Entrepreneur isn’t comimg so easy. It is very hard to acquire. I am an Entrepreneur. So I can understand, why so difficult to be an Entrepreneur. If you lead a company, you can fail or success in our life. If you success, you have earned huge property and money. On the other hand, taking an official job, you can be only happy.. But at this moment, the office job is not giving you such monthly salary as like the economical condition.

Being an entrepreneur requires extra work to be successful. The funding aspect of being an entrepreneur is where many people run into problems, but countries from developed governments have programs to support MSME, so if your country is one of them, you won't face any difficulties moving forward. However, if a country doesn't support its entrepreneurs, they will probably fail before they reach their full potential. I will choose Entrepreneur in a working developed country instead of wearing a bow tie to the office every morning and answering unnecessary queries that are not significant.

Private Venture Capitals aren't even helping small businesses because of the share they demand; they do offer support but only in exchange for 40% or more ownership in the company, and any wise and intelligent entrepreneur wouldn't accept those kinds of offers just to revive their dying business because it isn't the best and sufficient in the long run.

Just for more engagement for other people to know what SBF has done to investors and traders, that is the meaning of a Ponzi scheme. SBF has done more harm than good and this will hunt other centralized exchanges, the trust is no longer there and not just that, people have learned to move their trading to decentralized exchanges. The entire capitalist who invested in FTX, the whale are all mostly at losses and the ones who have sold back to stablecoin has been unable to withdraw and the chance of getting their money back is slim or at least, it will take months or years, it is high time we all avoid these centralized exchanges
1895  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lay off vs Pay cut on: November 16, 2022, 07:46:39 PM
A pay cut is a decrease in an employee’s compensation. It could be a reduction in salary, benefits, hours and more — it’s not limited to monetary compensation. It can happen for a variety of reasons. For example, a company might be trying to avoid layoffs and/or save money during a tumultuous period, with the intention of returning salaries to normal once the threat is over.

Let's suppose your boss called you into his/her office and explained the company's situation. He/she then gives you the option of getting laid off or taking a 50% pay cut. If you were to choose one of these options, what would it be and why?

I will receive the 50% pay cut but will resume searching for another job as soon as I reach home that day, I know that quitting the job is one of the best options because if one is to consider inflation, no worker can survive with his 50% of his salary right now, price of everything has increased and even the current jobs pay should be increased but is better you stay and have something coming to pocket while hunting for another job especially if there is no additional working hour attach to the new condition of the pay.

On second thought, don't you think a 50% pay cut is cheating workers, it may be for the benefit of the company but employees have to be considered too, when workers don't get good incentives it doesn't usually encourage workers, it will affect the productivity of the company.
1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of self-custody outweigh the risk of exchanges on: November 16, 2022, 07:31:27 PM
You may have heard of James Howells and his $11 million plan to find a hard drive with $181 million in Bitcoin. That is a risk of self-custody. His chance of finding his bitcoin is actually good.

If you had bitcoin held on FTX, there is no amount of money or time that will bring those coins back. They are gone. You have a 0% chance of finding those bitcoin.

Even in the worst case scenario, self-custody is better than an exchange.

Not your keys, not your bitcoin.

Each with its disadvantages but one definitely outweighs the other, when you have your bitcoin on an exchange, is just like putting all your eggs on a plain surface knowing fully that it is not safe to keep them there but if you provide a crate for them, they will stand firmly, even if something that tends to shake them, they wouldn't break nor move. That is one of the ways centralized custody differs from self-custody.

I don't think there is much risk associated with self-custody if you do your things with due diligence, the case of that guy not finding his hard drive was a bit of negligence, he didn't do proper backup nor inscribe his passphrase on a metal piece or safe place, it would have been easier to gain access to his bitcoin, self custody is the future of bitcoin and I love how everyone has woke up to the reality of not your keys, not your coins.
1897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want sell my house for bitcoin on: November 14, 2022, 09:56:26 PM
Do you think it's good that I sold the house then I buy bitcoin with all the money?
because in my own calculations, my house value didn't increase in date year by year. the value is still stagnan, it's different when compare it with bitcoin, I will got 3 house when I sold my house then buy bitcoin with that money in 2018 and sold it again on ATH november 2021.

(I have 2 house, which I want sell it is abandoned house)

You cannot compare the way bitcoin grows to the way a house thrives, houses are not deflationary in the way bitcoin is created. If you had rented it out, you would have earned money from people as well as profits by selling rather than keeping it vacant with no passive income. If you can't let it out to people, sell it when the price of bitcoin falls, that will be a great time to take a lower risk. You will always have peace of mind that bitcoin will go to zero, even though that is unlikely because it has never happened before and it will likely not, the more bitcoin goes down, the more interested investors jump in.
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thank god for bringing btc back in 2018. on: November 14, 2022, 09:43:49 PM
Economic crisis or bitcoin plunge is really an opportunity or a risk, depending on each person's point of view. For me, this is really an opportunity as I missed it in 2018 this time I expect bitcoin to stay below 10-15k for as long as possible. When others are afraid is when we should be greedy, wealth is not for the masses.

The opportunity that people would refuse to take.  Grin I remember some months ago when the market sentiments were neutral after the Luna fiasco, so many people were calling for bitcoin to come back below $20k but I'm disappointed that they are even more afraid that it will take a long time before people would have trust in Bitcoin again after FTX false altruism. I just made the conclusion that some people will always remain poor even when they are been shown a path to success, they forgot that this is how the bear market used to be and only the smart ones usually know what it means.

I have bought and held some bitcoin at a high price and despite the drop, I'm still not shaken, I will buy the little I can afford and continue my DCA until we ride another bull run again, I might have missed making the previous journey with people but this time, I want it written boldly on the wall that I was also there and profited.

The only problem with such wins is that they come after so many failed attempts, it's usually one or two misses every time and this gives you false hope of getting super close such that you keep playing and investing. Overall good to see that it finally paid out for the Nigerian man, hope he won't give it back to the bookies thinking he will win more!

I've noticed that these kinds of games are always won by street guys and with small money, you rarely see the big guys with such announcements; perhaps they play online and cash out online without anybody knowing in order to maintain their privacy. Some people believe that gambling money is air money and that because players do not work for it, they spend extravagantly without keeping records, which is why their money generally disappears quickly. However, I believe the problem comes in the degree of the player's financial status and exposure.

1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: November 14, 2022, 08:15:20 PM
I do not think that parents should share their gambling related activities with children. When I was living on rent, there was a family who lived near me. The father left his business and was in full time gambling. He was also into offline gambling and lost a lot of money in this. He almost list his entire life savings into this. He had two sons and he was not able to give them good education and comfortable life because of this.

Both of his sons were also unemployed because of this and they also used to part time jobs and do gambling with the money that was left with them after expenses. So whole family was into gambling and they never cared to save any money and then invest it to grow their business or develop passive sources of income. When you have billions, and you become irresponsible, even then you can loose all the money with such an attitude. I always encourage responsible gaming.

Kids you see are very inquisitive, you think they are not watching what the parents are doing but deep within, they are smart and know whatever the parent does including the ones they hide especially if they fail to take responsibility at home, they always know.
If a parent must gamble, it is their wish but they should try and make sure they don't fail at parenting else if the kids feel heat and difficulties, they will also want to engage in gambling they know their parents are doing which is very bad, kids aren't supposed to be exposed to gambling unless they have come of 18 years old and even at that, it should be done responsibly.
