1881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win so big on: October 20, 2022, 11:03:48 PM
Keep it very real in mind that no matter how much a gambler wins, they cannot quit gambling for anything (if they didn't quit when the lost, will they dare to quit when they're winning)? Rhetorical though..
What thrives every good gambler is 'greed'. Either ways, if they ain't greedy, then they'll have to let go.
Secondly, any cash that doesn't take too much effort o aquire, is spent without much effort too i.e ( in considering wether or not the cash has been exhausted ). About forgetting your friends; it all depends on the kinda person that you' are and, prolly, the kinda friends that you mean. That'll be very unfair for anyone to quit their friends just for the facts that they won 50,000 dollars?!
1882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: October 20, 2022, 10:45:38 PM
Hehe.....losses ain't something that anyone would get pleased with... No matter how prepared the person is -- yes, people get prepared on some losses as they'll sometimes indulge in something they know quite well to be a scam but, will just wanna give a try.

If I get a bad lose, I know it's something that could push you into taking your own life or seeing yourself as 'worthless' -- I'll pick up and listen to good music and, hangout with friends then I'll try as much as possible to keep myself busy -- sometimes, busy over nothing.
Some Peeps let loose their emotions....in that it surpasses them and if there's no one around to change their mindsets, they might even run into a homicide.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 19, 2022, 11:20:02 PM
FT: Liverpool 1-0 West Ham

Liverpool have earned three points tonight after a 1-0 win over West Ham but the score doesn't tell the whole story. Nunez got Liverpool off to a good start when he headed in Tsimikas' cross. However, he still hit the post in the first half, while Salah missed two chances to increase Liverpool's lead. West Ham were awarded a penalty but Bowen's penalty late in the first half was saved by Alisson.

Liverpool have won three games in a row now but I saw them not in their best form tonight.

FT: Brentford 0-0 Chelsea

Meanwhile from Brentford Community Stadium, Brentford and Chelsea played out a goalless draw in their Premier League fixtures. Both sides have chances to win the game, although Brentford will feel they should have earned the three points. Ivan Toney's effort was denied three times by Kepa Arrizabalaga, while Bryan Mbeumo headed a free header straight at the Chelsea goalkeeper.

The Blues had their moment, but couldn't find their way through Brentford's formidable back line and get a point.

..and I keep asking, how come Chelsea lost so easily to Brentford? .. to a point that Chelsea was now being played and all they'd beg for, is a nill draw, just so they won't be pushed down the table.??
Chelsea is really messing up; this isn't a time to play with alot of skills and fancy, it's about experience and damage control. They had a good line up quad to start with -- also with the position on the table, which is  an evidence of their prowess, they'd have had Brentford begging, like a child longing for a piece of candy🍬

I sure hope things get better as they hold the 4th position with 20 grade points: (European champions league ) but, It's very terrifying, as their next match will be with their worst rivals.
1884  Economy / Reputation / Re: Goodbye Pandukelana2712 - Thanks for your contribution. on: October 19, 2022, 10:57:26 PM
My tag is a little different than some of the other members, and I thought this tag would give a little bit of the impression that if the account were to be active again then everyone would be able to remember that it's no longer the main user. Maybe the final solution is to have the account locked by a moderator, that will solve everything.
Yeah, that's certainly appropriate text but I was just wondering whether deceased members should get red or neutral trust on their profiles to alert the community in the event the account becomes active again.  After looking at pandukelana2712's trust page however, he's already got some negative trust for things other than the most recent loan he took out (the ones from game-protect), and I doubt those are ever going to be removed--so in this particular case, the point is moot.

I kind of agree that mods should lock an account if there's enough evidence that the member died.  But wasn't pandukelana2712's relative supposed to repay the loan?  Is that between DarkStar_ and the relative, or was that relative expected to gain access to pandukelana2712's account in order to do so?  Just curious.

It hurts me Everytime I read on this topic. I was one of first to see it but, couldn't say anything just yet, not until now. Hades has evolved many into the afterlife -- a transformation that no sane person would stoop to, if self decisions were mandatory. I can't even say much as I didn't know 'em in person... He died before I was registeredif I'm right. My eyes are still and sweaty; rest on dear friend 🥺

Chymist,
I don't know how to believe the story -- that he gave his relatives some cash to save his ass, but if SK said so, then it must be true. His post above quotes that he communicated with Roycilik; I'm not sure what it was 'bout but, the user knows the deceased personally..... they'd get the cash and sort out the loan.

When i first register this forum my first search was Satoshi
which i was curios about knowing if the name i have been hearing every where was actually the same person who created this forum, before then i already have a concluded believe the user was actually the owner before i searched it, then after the search i saw a position badge " founder " which made me confirmed my guess.
But i just recently came across a post where a high rank user of this forum corrected a member that satoshi is not the owner of this forum.
Quote
Satoshi does not own bitcoin.org, it belongs to Cobra.

I am curious and want to really know who owns the forum and its relationship to bitcoin in other for me not to mislead the public with wrong information if i happen to be ask any where.

Thanks

Hey, you've been here for long enough -- Enough to know these things that you ask. I mean, from your post history, you made links viable, which is not something a NEWBIE does. I'm not scrutinizing... that'll be rude.
The name of this site is bitcointalk.org NOT bitcoin.org; the are two different sites with different domain.

Yes, Satoshi created this site, as well as the functions init. They haven't been active lately and the site can't run itself (maintenance wise), so the domains were designated to two different Peeps: Theymos and Cobră respectively. I sure hope that information to quench your curiosity, otherwise, follow those links above.

1886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this possible? on: October 19, 2022, 10:19:51 PM
If we are talking about real keyboard (device) hacking, I guess anything is possible if the hacker had physical access to your device. If we consider that there are USB cables that can steal coins from hardware wallets, we can assume that something similar can exist for keyboard hacking as well. For example, someone can create a USB device that connects between the keyboard and the computer that will register everything that is typed on the keyboard and record it in internal memory or wirelessly send the data to the hacker. If this device is plugged into your computer while you are typing, it can record all the characters that you type. And if the hacker has access to this data, he or she will be able to recover your passwords or private keys.

What you said is actually true but I think he wasn't referring to when the hacker has close contact with the HODLer; your points are self explicable and could be possible only if they're together.
What he meant was if it were possible that privkeys were lost to some phishing site, just for either saving an auto display passphrase or however... In their external keyboards?!
Though, I learnt that there are a lot of softwares that could be injected....but still, this will need the hacker close by. Hacking is not that an easy process though, but let's be careful out there; when it comes to the software part of navigation.

1887  Other / Meta / Re: Eliminate ban appeals, but change the perma ban at the same time. on: October 19, 2022, 07:24:56 PM
OK, does not seem to be that popular of an idea. I though it would be good for the members that ARE contributing and useful but have at times been known to 'go off the rails' so to speak. This way the mods don't have to think about getting rid of a good user (perma ban) or just suspending them for a bit which I DO NOT THINK corrects behavior.

It would have been a 'middle ground' that would make some people think a bit more. Taking the threats / plagiarized content off the table since I have been here for 8+ years and have a good history I would have to do something EPIC to get a perma ban. And there are more then a few users like me. This way the mods have another tool in their pocket.
I would still be me, everyone would know it's me, but they would also know I screwed up big time somewhere. Now, if I do somethings bad and say get a 90 day or whatever ban, unless you look at my post history nobody would even know what happened in a year or 2 when it all becomes a distant memory.

<shrug> I think it would help a bit because now a lot of people know they CAN go past certain lines because there is no long term pain. But, I seem to be in the minority here.

As I said in the OP it came from a different time  / way of doing things. May not translate well to the way things work in 2022.

-Dave

Dave,
Have you realized that you're tryna make the whole process tough? I mean incessantly tough -- say, a kinda over reaction on the whole issue. I understand that you're trying to adopt an old idea -- for whatever reasons -- in this new era, to serve as a 'deterrent' to whoever the culprit is but, -- you don't kill your child for a punishable offense, do you? You see the point..

I don't think anyone is against you; neither are you rated amongst any minority bla bla bla..... It's just your perception or, maybe you're understanding every the other person's appraisal the other way-round: don't pick an offense if no one seems to see through your vision. There are many advantages to your points, but many, MANY.... MORE disadvantages.

did you just buy this pumpkin?? I hope I can see the fine work of your hand, rather than just looking at the little scribbles on your pumpkin from a marker.
He probably doesn't have the same gourd carving skills as I do. But it was because he wanted to participate in the celebration here so much that he crossed out his pumpkin like that.
At least he tried.

I tried to present Bitcoin Pumpkin Day. But because I have no advanced technology here, I may not be able to present my post well. But I have tried my best but please pray for me in future so that I can do better.

I am going to pray that you get a knife, and use such knife to cut some holes into that pumpkin-like object - at least one of such holes creating direct or indirect communications of some kind of a bitcoin theme, and then afterwards you take a picture of your results and upload such results on this thread within the next almost two weeks. .that's my prayer for you at this moment..

...and part of the reason that I am so demanding within my prayer is that you already have demonstrated that you have a pumpkin-like piece of vegetable within your possession (which is way more than a majority of the making of progress towards halloween-bitcoin funzies - and you know how to upload pictures to this thread.. with BTC drawings contained therein.

The ONLY thing that you might be missing would be a knife or some other instrument that might allow you to poke some holes in that pre-carved bitcoin inspired pumpkin-looking object.     Shocked

Let us (royal?) pray for further progress within the next almost two weeks..   Wink

Jay, I'd love to participate in it, to be frank but, who the heck's got an idea where to get that? What I see frequently, Every time I go shopping is water melon but they're too soft or watery to get a nice effect during carving.....
I'm not even aware we've got some species of pumpkin as large as that? Hehe, does this brownish stuff count as a pumpkin....save my ass! 😹

Nobody.....I repeat, NOBODY can claim your stock without your priv keys.. with your priv keys, no passphrase is required and the coins are easily claimed, wether or not you're alive or dead.

Therefore,It's imperative for a user to atleast, confide their either passphrases or privkeys to their next-of-kin (yeah, this isn't unnecessary and dangerous as it looks cus you ain't dead yet and, everything is still at your watch) let's say-- your wife, husband or first child could take up as a Kin, so yes, your coins ain't lost.
Now, it all depends on you; if you wanna die with it 😹 (seriously, I'm laughing) I dunno how funny that is.

Well said....all through the long run, there have been alot of obstacles but, atleast -- I know that Bitcoin's achievement over time, added to the world Guinness record doesn't make too much diversified sense - from its current state -- but that will be a good wall of Fame for an elevation, prolly, overtime.

It shows its prowess, providence and stability (not in terms of the the market structure, cus that's absolutely volatile) but in terms of steadiness and dependency; alot have left their wealth in here, as a store of value and -- apart from some appreciation or depreciation, nothing changed. It deserves even more accolades.
Well, that's just the beginning of the trail- line.

The endless possibilities around Bitcointalk community can't be over looked, I found the community to be a place specially made for business wise and mindset alike, So much has been discussed already and i advice all newbie's like my humble self to highly get involved and learn as much as possible.
I couldn't really decipher your points here though but if you're saying --business-wise, what kinda business are you referring to, in general?
If you're advising newbies like you to learn, with you, then that's knowledgeable.

During the past few days, i've come to realized that over zealousness to get recognized in the platform is leading most newbies toward destructions. With the recent compiling list of banned account i found on the platform, i could only wish. That those newbies really takes out time to study and stay banned free.

No!!! It ain't about being overzealous to get Recognition; nobody gets banned for that... As a newbies, you could decide to make an appraisal anywhere, matterless of how many times you've made several good facts, In a day. You could even aim at getting recognized; if only there's an easier way to do so, rather than introducing conventional ideas.

The thing is; avoid plagiarism and spamming, just like what Mk4 said ( I only went through his post as the rest are too voluminous)

Quote
With the subject matter above, Instead of chasing recognization, my advice to newbies is to get acquainted with the platform. Educate your self in some certain areas and topics. This is necessary for daily improvement and investment growth. Do not rush, take it a step at a time, by so doing the recognition you chase will be placed before you.

I recommend all newbies to stick with this beginner and help sections for days before thinking of other sections of the platform, By so doing. You gradually become a pro in your area of specialization.

What ever you're referring to, as area of specialization is unknown to me, but just do well to follow the rules.... Make sure that anything you're planning to inculcate is NOT against the rules.

You seeee.... I made a ryhme. In it, I had written out a nice phrase -- why newbie won't stay, atleast till November? can't really get through 'em yeah, for sure, it was kinda rhetorical...

A user gets the normal ban process (temporary or permanent) but this time, if it's temporary, then the user......
Allow me some time to ask : why was it called the temporary ban in the first place?? When users ain't given a second chance (that's if it's considerable, based on their legacies --say, creating useful threads or navigating creative informations and ideas, with images and links) what's the need to have divisions to which ban a user deserves?? Just being curious yunno.

How 'bout if a user is back from the said probation, --say, a user like fillipone( for instance), how will continue they continue their usual lifestyle of posting threads with images AS BEING A NEWBIE ? HOW 'BOUT THE MERIT-SOURCE POSITION? or you think I'm being too optimistic?

What's the point of coming back, as the same person, in the same account -- coupled with the tags or the ordeal that was assimilated by everyone; that the user is a cheat, spammer, critical threat or whatsoever??

There's a lot to consider.....

@Sandra: Like TP, I enjoy the weird way you write posts, it's quite endearing. "Gloves" as a nickname made me smile.

Anyway, I ran this proposal by my honeybun (Mrs. Gloves) and she looked at me sympathetically, and sweetly explained that I don't understand humans very well, and that I should prepare for more pushback. So, between my compulsive need to "defend" this idea and what will probably be a stream of neigh-sayers (get it? because of the horse thing?) I'll take a step back from this topic and only poke my head in once in a while. Wink

P.S. I added a few points to the initial post.

Hahaha......it's a usual thing that I have heard over the times I've been here ....and that has -- infact -- made me confident on myself, the development process and ....uhhhh, gurus like you as well... Thanks for the acknowledgement ☺️

PowerGlove,
I understand that these is an appraisal; a type that's expected of everyone to Foster the rehabilitation process, in the long run. Everyone has an equal right to their prerogatives. AFAIK - it's driven in diverse ways... people don't say or suggest the same thing so for that reason, I'll say that you're right to make a move. The question is: is these some kinda segregation BTW the typically masked persons behind every account -- persons to Which you don't even know personally? Or are we just planning on for an unleveled rule to ruin our priceless liberty and engaged in wholesome TYRANNY?

Gloves, you've a visceral conscription and you won't need to convince anyone of that: but I'm afraid that this particular appraisal was a misconception. I was hoping to get on something that'll have me drowned in a pool of perplexity and anxiety at the same time and get my panties soaked in sweat  Tongue

Change is the only thing constant: anyone could decide to say anything at anytime and at the long run, feel remorseful or left in their plight, such that they have no other choice than to evade or revoke the statement. I might claim to be something I'm not today, then by tomorrow -- I'd say I was intoxicated, too anxious or stressed ( emotional degradation)...
The worst part is suggesting it as a ban-able offense; you're trying to create an atmosphere where people ain't given that pseudonymous freedom anymore and that'll automatically make out more forgeries outta people's asses.

Comee onnnn..... Dearrrrr --
when there's a RULE, there's a WRONG. introducing very many rules won't make things right....

If the purpose of this was to be made yet,  another way to trust peeps for not having different statement, is it even worth the time? Someone could keep pretending (some gurus are already good with that) until he/she gains a bunch of trust without ever being trustworthy, are you in any doubt?? How about the lies over the years? Will it be scrutinized as compared to the latter day? I'M NOT A LIAR -- atleast not in here -- BUT NO ONE SHOULD BE PENALIZED FOR THAT..
lemme give others a chance to say their thoughts too.

That'll be alot of fun and it wouldn't have much difference with the original way though. Only that everyone Will be much aware that their wager goes to a particular user (that's when they loose). The big question here is: won't these development break the rules of pseudonymity; as the stackers have to be paired together -- say five of them --? isn't it a chance that anyone could view, text or manipulate through a person's profile?
Just curious anyways......

The next break should be a return trip for Juventus to regain their form. Things are not going well for Juventus at the moment, but they are a team that has a way of getting their form back. I feel confident about that, and a team that is playing well at the moment won't always be able to keep it in shape. Juventus have to deal with the problem of their players' injuries, it has affected their performance and match results.

At a point, I thought that it was for the fact that Ronaldo left Juventus that they had their form dropped. It's seems true though to some, not me. Juventus  has been having big difficulties way back: even in the days when platini played the whole pitch and made conquering performances against any team, they were still found wondering when they lost their form, however.
now, I still believe that they'll regain back their position rightfully and even more, when their players are fully recovered.

I don't think that any profound site on the net would wanna offer you a chance to deposit, gamble and withdraw successfully without KYCS as that's -- way too risky to take --
By the way -- why should anyone get tired of the KYC rules? Pseudonymity? Stress of computation? Protocols or what? If it isn't done that way, then anyone would claim to be you, there by claiming your payout.
If i may give more specificities on that, maybe it'd be a measure you're known already and that's messy to have it back. TBH...I'm not going to rely on any account without KYC -- atleast that's how much I trust its process.

In my personal opinion, no matter how successful Barcelona is in La Liga, they will never win El Clasico. Real Madrid have a speedy attack. Barcelona's defensive players are showing poor performances, which we saw against Inter. If Xavi manages the team in a different plan, something good can happen
Lewandowski himself said that his team thought too much up front and forgot that their back line was dying, if the Barca defense is still chaotic like when they faced inter then don't expect them to win in the el clasico match later. madrid is a very consistent team, they have almost no gaps/weaknesses and the chances of Barca winning in the el clasico later are very small. I will secure my funds (bet) for Madrid later.
Barcelona's defense is currently very weak. For some reason, their team is now in danger. I am also favoring Real Madrid in the upcoming El Clasico as they have fast young players in their squad. How Barcelona's defense can cope with Real Madrid's fast-paced attack is a matter of concern.

That's not possible dude. Barcelona is weak; sometimes I'd feel like the fact that they made good use of the transfer window was irrelevant. haven't seen any progress apart from the times they'd struggle and scramble hard just to get one point average ( which is a draw ).
They can't keep up a defensive standard against Madrid. That hasn't happened in the past 3 years thus, it'd be a big luxury      In the phase of an unevenly structured team schedule; betis is one of sort though. Thanks to Madrid that they've utilized  properly -- a rear opportunity and that has kept 'em going smoothly.
