While we're in the realm of wild speculation based on no evidence... I operate under the assumption that satoshi still controls the keys to each and every one of his bitcoins. There is no evidence to the contrary.

A market buy for the ad's cost would have a greater impact than flashing some words that won't be read by anyone other than bitcoiners reading reddit.

Show of hands, Noble Markets traders?
This was a purchased ad.

"As such, the representative added that the service will not be available initially for users in the US."
No Pump For You!
A one way channel to a poker room (via bitpay) wasn't grounds for a pump any way you slice it.

For starters, Nasdaq didn't "get into" bitcoin, they sold very expensive software to Noble Markets. A company with no history or even customers at the moment, and it involves Brock Pierce.
The news of the former CEO of NYSE serving as an advisor to Tera Exchange is better, but still really zero net impact to current markets.
Like it or not, it was Evo going down for the first drop, and Agora taking a 24-48 hr "security maintenance" period behind this last drop. Unfortunately, that has broken most of the major support levels. A condition which usually hints at further panic selling, after not seeing significant rebound.

How is this not really good news though?
Isn't this the news people have been waiting for for years?
No, Noble Markets has purchased trading software from Nasdaq. This has nothing to do with the Nasdaq exchange. PR release by a company with no track record and no customers.

So dumping 20k btc on the open market is a good way to accumulate? What sorcery is this? And why is buying volume non-existent at these "lower levels"?

Page 12k, ATH!
Meanwhile, buying pressure is pitiful at these levels. Shorts, what's your target for closing... 210-220 again? Or are we set for a retest of the mid 1xx's?

Guise.
Noble Markets, a company which includes Brock Pierce, bought a product from Nasdaq. Namely, the X-stream trading engine. This is nothing like Nasdaq (the exchange) offering any kind of bitcoin product. Also, you already saw the action in regards to this news (nothing much).
The bigger news from today was the former CEO of NYSE has taken an advisory (advocacy) position with Tera Exchange, which aims to offer a robust bitcoin futures and options market based in the US. The company is in the process of doing a sort of reverse merger/listing with MGT capital investments which trades on the NYSE symbol MGT.
Barry Silbert's BIT appears near to starting trading on the pink sheets market under the symbol GBTC.
On the bad news front:
68k btc still need to be auctioned by US and AUS govts. Sapping buying pressure that would otherwise be on the exchanges.
Who knows how many btc walked away in the evo exit scam? to be sold at a later date.
Some remainder of the 200k "found" mtgox funds will be returned to account holders. The dispersal method is not yet known.
The 1MB block size limit (and the incentive against growing it) You can see the network get backed up on heavy trading days. Clear evidence the network can't handle the number of transactions commensurate with a widely adopted protocol.
The runs at 300 and the defense of 250 were accomplished with the help of USD margin, no doubt backed with BTC collateral.
Anyone who claims to know the direction for sure is lying.

I still wonder why almost all of the recent price increases are based on small time frame large 2-3 thousand volume candles. And I still wonder if some sort of institutional investor is buying the coins, waiting for the next dip and rebuying in order to cause less of a price hike. If you look at the finiex 15 minute candles you will see two large 3k volume boosts in price followed by a decline back to the baseline ~300 volume. Looks like a single person buying to me.

Primates have an aversion to diving into walls of text on the internet, or at least one does. A main driver of posting something on a public forum is to hopefully have the maximum amount of people read and understand it. Stolfi has tricked me into reading many typed pages worth of posts. All through clever use of grammar, paragraph structure, and punctuation. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
